Sorry for taking so long with this, I've been doing a lot of other things... but I haven't forgotten about this story! So, let's continue on with this, shall we? Anyway, enjoy!

Over at Velma's place, she was sitting down and reading over the newspaper as she was tapping her fingers. She then noted another headline, "Four more villains escaping from different prisons from each side of the country'. What she had noted as interesting to her, was that all of them were villains that she and the gang had encountered in the past.

"The Ghostly Gondolier... the Ghost of Zen Tuo... the Mantis..." Velma muttered as she looked over the names. "Even that cultist vampire from Petit Chauve Sourie Ville... no way that can't be a coincidence..."

"What are rou roing, Relma?"

Velma looked up from her newspaper to see Scooby coming over and leaning his head towards her in curiosity. The genius girl gave a small smile towards the Great Dane as she put the newspaper aside. "Just looking over the news... and it seems there might be some trouble..."

"Rouble?" Scooby asked nervously.

Velma gave a small sigh, somehow knowing the large dog would act like this. In fact, ever since she agreed to watch Scooby over at her place while Shaggy and Daphne were at the doctor's, things have been pretty quiet. Both of them were eagerly waiting for Shaggy or Daphne to call them about the ultrasound, both of them feeling rather excited for this moment. But they knew it would take quite a while to listen, as they decided to occupy themselves by doing what they do best. With Scooby, of course, it was all about eating. For Velma, she was originally planning to do the word jumble and sudoku puzzles in the paper when that article about the escaped villains had caught her eye.

"Yeah. Looks like some villains we've caught in the past are escaping from jail." Velma said as she leaned towards the paper. "And according to this, that's not the only four people. Three people also escaped from jail at least a few weeks earlier..."

Scooby whimpered a bit as he looked up at Velma nervously. The bespectacled girl looked down towards her Great Dane friend, before patting his head in comfort. "Don't worry, Scooby... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be stupid enough to try to find us for revenge... if anything, I think they'd hide out and try out their crimes again. And if we do happen to find them if we get back to mystery solving... we'll just have them arrested, like usual."

The Great Dane took a small deep breath upon hearing Velma's words, although in his eyes, he looked a bit unsure about it. Even Velma was pondering everything about this conundrum...

All of a sudden, a loud beeping sound was heard as Scooby gave out a loud yell, jumping right onto the back of a chair before his large weight made it topple over. Scooby could only chuckle in embarrassment as he looked up at Velma.

"Relax, Scooby. It's just my phone." Velma said as she pulled out an orange smartphone, before noting Daphne's number. "OH! Daphne's calling!"

"Ranswer it, ranswer it!" Scooby said in excitement.

"Give me a minute, Scooby..." Velma nodded before pushing a button and answering. "Hello, Daphne?"

"Hey Velma!" Daphne's voice said through the phone. "Shaggy and I just left the hospital, and we're heading back to the mansion now! I just thought we'd call you guys for an update!"

"Row is reveryring! Ris the raby rokay?" Scooby asked as he grabbed Velma's phone from her hands and started to shake it in excitement.

"Scooby, Scooby! Please, calm down. Everything's fine. Just take a deep breath..." Daphne's voice sounded.

"Yeah, Scoob, come on now." Shaggy's voice chuckled.

"Hi, Shaggy." Velma smiled as she and Scooby gave a grin.

"Like, hey, Velma. I hope Scooby hasn't been a handful for ya while we were away." Shaggy chuckled nervously.

"Hey, don't worry. I knew what I was signing up for when I agreed to do dog duty." Velma smirked as she patted Scooby's head. "And so far, Scooby's been pretty well behaved."

"Rank rou." Scooby grinned big.

"Anyway, the doctor said that the baby is good and healthy..." Shaggy said, making Velma and Scooby sigh in relief. "Like, she even got the gender of the baby..."

"She did?" Velma asked as she gave a smile. "What is it?"

"Like, you tell 'em, Daph." Shaggy chuckled a bit.

"Okay, okay..." Daphne giggled through the phone, before coughing a bit. "Well... we just found out that our baby is going to be a boy!"

"A boy?!" Velma gasped, before Scooby grinned.

"Roh roy! Ri'm an uncle!" Scooby cheered a bit, causing the three humans to chuckle.

"Well, congratulations, you two! This is pretty exciting!" Velma smiled.

"Like, thanks, Velma. It really means a lot." Shaggy's voice sounded. "Anyway, Daphne and I are going to tell our parents the news ourselves, then I'll be back over to pick Scooby up. Will you two be okay for just a while longer?"

"Sure, Shaggy. I know your parents would DEFINITELY want to hear the news..." Velma smiled, before pausing as she looked at the newspaper once more. She bit her lip, contemplating whether or not to tell them about the villains... before shaking her head. She didn't want to bring more stress after all... especially not when Daphne was expecting. "Good luck, you two!"

"Thanks, Velma! Take care!" Daphne said as she hung up the phone.

"Rye rye!" Scooby smiled, although the phone had already went back to its normal state. He paused before turning to Velma, noting the uncomfortable look on her face. He frowned as he looked up at his friend. "Rou were roing to rell rhem, weren't rou?"

"...yes... but I know it's not the right time for it." Velma frowned. "Scooby, for now, let's just keep this villain escape thing to ourselves. It might mean nothing for now, but until we get some more ideas about this, we're not telling Shaggy and Daphne anything! I don't want them to be stressed out any more than they already are. Do you understand?"

Scooby paused briefly as he stared at Velma, a small, inquisitive look on his face... before finally, the Great Dane gave a sigh. "Rhis is rot roing to rend well..."

Shaggy and Daphne had arrived back at the Blake mansion as Shaggy held onto Daphne, making sure to help her with every step. Of course, despite Daphne's protest that she didn't need help EVERY step of the way, she found it sweet that she was seeing her boyfriend in a new light... a different sort of light. Still, she carried the copies of the ultrasound in her other hand as the two made it to the door. As soon as Daphne and Shaggy entered, both of them heard their parents conversing. Shaggy snapped his fingers, knowing his parents were likely there as well (considering everything that was going on) before leading her towards the living room, where their parents were conversing. The rich couple and middle class couple turned their heads and smiled upon seeing Shaggy and Daphne entered.

"Norville, sweetie!" a brown haired woman with glasses and a dark green dress came in and hugged her son, causing him to yelp.

"Like, hey, mom." Shaggy chuckled nervously as he noted his father, a balding grey-haired man wearing a red shirt and blue pants coming in with a smile. "Hey, dad."

"Good to see you two are okay." Mr. Rogers smiled as Daphne walked over to her parents, each of them looking at their daughter with relieved smiles.

"So, how did everything go?" an orange haired woman wearing a pink hat with a blue flower on it, a short blue, sleeveless dress and a light blue pearl necklace.

"Great, Mom!" Daphne smiled as she handed over the ultrasound pictures. Mrs. Blake grinned as she looked them over, with her husband, a balding brown haired man in a blue business suit peered over. "Our baby is healthy and strong!"

"Heh heh..." Mr. Blake chuckled as the Rogers family joined in and peered in. "As I figured it should. Every child in our family was always a fighter! Even you were when you were quite young, my dear..."

Daphne giggled a bit as Shaggy smiled. "Like, Daphne was always feisty, and she still is, too."

As the young red haired girl lightly pushed her boyfriend, Mrs. Rogers cooed over the ultrasound picture as she gave a small smile. "Oh, it reminds me of MY first ultrasound test..."

"Do you know what gender the baby will be?" Mr. Rogers asked.

"Yes, we do. We're going to have a baby boy!" Daphne squealed in delight as she pulled Shaggy close, with the young man giving a small nervous, but excited grin.

The two sets of parents looked up in surprise as they looked rather proud, with Mr. Blake smiling, "Well, that certainly is a cause for celebration, my dear!"

"Indeed." Mrs. Blake said in a rather proud tone. "Also a first time in a long time as well."

Both Shaggy and Daphne paused as they looked at Daphne's mother with confused looks. The older matriarch of the Blake family looked over towards the kids as she said, "Oh! Did you know that whenever the Blakes married and had children, the first child always ends up being a girl? There were a few that had boys as their firstborn, but not many. You'll be the first girl to have a firstborn son in the family name..."

"Depending on how the family name should be..." Mr. Rogers pointed out.

"So, like, Daphne and I have a special little guy coming..." Shaggy grinned as he lightly patted Daphne's tummy, making her giggle a bit.

"That, and then some." Mr. Blake nodded, before giving a pause. "Anyway, Shaggy, we're so grateful that you have been there for our daughter as much as you have..."

"Like, thank you, Mr. Blake, but you know that I'd never leave Daphne hanging... especially with everything going on." Shaggy said as he rubbed his girlfriend's hand.

"Of course, Daddy. Shaggy and I have been good friends for a long while." Daphne smiled as the Blakes and Rogers families looked over their charges with some rather proud looks on their faces.

"Well, you two have done quite well in the past... but the real question is..." Mr. Rogers paused. "How soon can you two get married?"

This caused Shaggy and Daphne to pause a bit as the former blinked in shock. "M-marry?"

"Yes, my dear boy. Your family and my family have been talking a bit... regarding our future grandson." Mr. Blake said. "And as much as we're excited to see him... it'd be rather awkward to have him move around in many places..."

"Well... th-that's..." Shaggy stammered a bit, before looking at Daphne, the thought of her in a rather elegant wedding dress in his mind. "Daphne, would that be okay with you? It's a lot to ask for, but-"

Daphne giggled a bit. "Shaggy, we've been friends for a very long time, and considering we've been courting and dating half the time... whatever decision you want to make, I'll understand one hundred percent."

Shaggy rubbed his head as he felt a lot of pressure weighing in. He looked over at his parents, who seemed rather curious, and then over to Daphne's parents, who were looking at him with inquisitive looks. Shaggy had to take a bit of time to think about it...

Getting married to Daphne? He had to admit, dating her was one thing... but he knew his parents were right. Their kid was going to be born in a few months from now, and it would feel pretty awkward to have a child born out of wedlock. Still... he wanted to be there for Daphne, he wanted to be there for his son... he knew that it was a lot of change he had to go through, and though some of his cowardice was showing, he knew he had to soldier on, be brave...

He looked over at Daphne with a smile and held his head. "Like, I might need a ring if I'm going to go through with it... but... Daphne Ann Blake..." he went down on one knee. "Will you, like, have the honor of being my wife?"

Daphne closed her eyes and squealed happily, with two sets of proud parents looking on as they looked at each other. It looks like things were going to be looking up for the Rogers and Blakes!
