Not much to say before I start this chapter, except
From here on this fanfic is gonna be absolutely brutal, I might even put a great rabbit level death in this arc.
Anyways let's start
"New roof?" Subaru jumped out of the bed.
"I have been kidnapped!" Subaru shouted as he rushed to the door. He grabbed onto the handle with extreme force.
"Owww!" Subaru was smacked by the door as an opposing force pushed it open.
"It seems our guest has woken up." Subaru saw Willhelm standing in the door.
"I didn't know you were into kidnapping kids…" both willhelm and Subaru went completely silent before they burst into laughter.
"That was quite the joke." Wilhelms laughter subsided to chuckling.
"But umm why am I here?" Subaru was confused about what happened to get him here.
"My lady has yet to inform me of the cause of your stay, but she says that lord roswaal struck some manner of deal with her."
Willhelm switched to his cold and calculating tone.
"So he left me with complete strangers, gee."
'He must not be the brightest tool in the shed, I mean sharpest.'
Willhelm let out a slight chuckle at Subarus comment."He sent a blue haired maid, she is currently waiting in another room."
"Oooh so Rems here, I'm surprised she wasn't watching me sleep this time.
"She was… I had to separate her from you when she started hugging…" willhelm spoke ominously.
"Oooooh, so uhh who was the person who kidnapped me." Subaru got a laugh out of willhelm.
"Currently lady crusch is in her office." Wilhelm responded with due haste.
"Felix will be coming soon to check up on you so try not to tear the place to shreds." Willhelm said it as if Subaru was a wild untamed animal.
"Aww, I'll try my hardest not to." Subaru responded in a self deprecating manner, getting a laugh out of willhelm.
"I must report back to my lady, farewell for now Subaru." Willhelm exited the room with haste.
"Well I'm hungry so imma grab some food." Subaru tried to summon a rift. The rift appeared in front of him, shining bright blue and white.
"This is strange?" the rift fizzled out, disappearing. A horrible pain spiked in his chest sending him tumbling to the ground.
He clawed at his chest viciously trying to make the pain stop. It lasted for a while until someone entered the room.
"This is nyooo good!" A feminine voice said as Subaru desperately rolled across the floor. "Why would you push yourself so soon!"
"How is he doing?" Crusch asked Felix. She already could tell by the look on his face that things weren't going well.
"I don't think he will make it out of this unscathed, in fact there is a chance he could die." Felix was completely depressed, no matter what he did nothing worked.
"Try your best but if it is a lost cause don't overextend yourself." Crusch had a commanding and calming voice.
Felix had never felt inadequate as a healer, after all he was lagunicas best. He had always been the best, no matter if Reinhard van Astrea himself learned healing magic felix would still be the best. The thought of being the best at healing not being enough to save one meager man was impossible!
"You seem quite unhappy Felix, what seems to be the problem?" Willhelm was waiting outside cruschs office.
"It's nyoothing…" Felix was clearly lying to the sword demons face.
"Please share your concerns and problems with me, I may not be able to relate, but I will try to ease your mind." Felix perked up.
"… I think it would be better if we talked about this matter outside." Felix's usual happy charm was replaced by a solid demeanor.
Subaru stood at the bottom of a staircase, piles of bodies surrounded him and blocked his path. The only way he could go was up the staircase.
He climbed… he climbed and he climbed… but he never reached the top…
"I love you…" several black hands pulled him back. They felt cold as ice. The rough jerking motion nearly killed him.
"I love you." Subaru tried to claw at the stairs and hold on for dear life. The hands didn't even lose momentum and kept dragging him away.
"Let go of me!" Subaru rolled onto his back to try to find the source of what was dragging him. All he saw was a shadowy figure.
"Die you bastard!" Subaru pulled the great sword out of seemingly thin air and slashed at the hands, cutting them off.
"I love you." The figure sent more hands at Subaru but he destroyed them yet again and stood back up. The sword seemed to empower him. The hands were slower now, but they were still way too fast.
"Die you bastard!" Subaru cut through another barrage and rushed the shadowy figure down.
He prepared to strike them down when suddenly everything went black.
"Same ceiling, different time." Subaru jumped out of bed again. this time he had a throbbing headache.
"You're awake!?" Rem was sitting on a chair next to him.
"Yes? Is that surprising?" Subaru was confused to say the very least.
"They haven't been able to wake you up… they-they said you wouldn't make it." Rem started heavily sobbing.
"I'm here now." Subaru pulled Rem into a hug. she practically melted in his arms.
"Thanks Subaru I really needed that." She retracted from him after she let it all out.
"So uh, why exactly are you and I here?" Subaru questioned her.
"Well roswaal struck a deal with crusch to in exchange for Felix healing you , now that you are fully healed we can leave whenever we want." Subaru nodded at this explanation.
"Wait a minute! How badly was I beaten!?" Rem clicked her tongue in response to this question.
"They told me you were on the brink of death. They wouldn't inform me of why though." Rem was visibly frustrated at recalling these events.
"Oh yeah Julius beat me up." Subaru said matter of factly. Rem adopted a cold demeanor with a crazed look on her eyes. Her horn started to grow.
"I will break every bone in that man's body!" She had a look of pure rage and insanity in her eyes.
"Let's not." Subaru stayed calm and broke rem out of her insanity.
"Aww, but he hurt you!" Rems horn retracted from her head.
"It's okay, I beat him up real good, he might even be permanently injured after what I did to him."
"Well anyways let's go I wanna get back to the mansion!" Subaru was tired of this new unfamiliar place.
"Very well, I have already talked to lady crusch and she said that should you wake up we are allowed to leave at will" Subaru and rem left the room, walking in an orderly pace, side by side.
"I can't wait to go back to the mansion."
"Speaking of which, how long will it take for us to get there?"
"About 2 days if we're lucky." Rem replied. Subaru huffed and puffed. This was really gonna be a long journey…
"How about i switch in at nighttime while you sleep?" Subaru questioned.
"That sounds good, that way we will be able to get home as quick as possible."
"Subaru I smell witch cultists." Rem immediately drew her mace.
"That's bad bad!"
"Hmmm, where exactly are we?"
"We're still 3 solar time away from the mansion. I shall go out and confront them." Rem almost jumped out of the wagon but Subaru held her by her sleeve.
"We will confront them together!"subaru drew a kukri from a rift, and let go of the reins.
"Please reconsider Subaru, your life is much more important than mine!" Rem was shushed by Subaru quickly.
"Don't give me that crap! Neither of us are gonna die! Besides you are the one with people who care about you, I have nothing without you guys!" Subaru pumped his fist into the air.
"It seems I can't convince you otherwise. We shall fight to our last breath on the honor of roswaal."
"No, we will fight on our own honor!" Rem and Subaru felt pumped up.
"We gotta ditch the dragon, let the ground dragon go." Rem was confused on why Subaru asked this.
"In the unlikely event we die, the ground dragon will slowly starve, I doubt we will die but it's a simple precaution." Rem knew exactly what this meant, Subaru believed they were gonna die.
"Let's charge into battle then." Subaru and rem jumped out of the carriage and ran through the forest.
"Guide the way rem." Subaru was forced to duck as rem swung at him.
"What was tha- wow!" Subaru looked behind him and saw the dead body of a man/woman. Their face was mangled.
"Watch out subar-" suddenly rem was hoisted into the air. Several loud cracking noises invaded Subarus ear drums.
"What immense love, oooh such beautiful love, love love love!" A figure appeared from the treeline. Upon closer inspection he had radioactive green hair with sickly pale skin.
"Her love for you is so great! She risked her life to save you!" The cracking sounds increased. The assault on Subarus eardrums was so great he temporarily lost hearing.
"R-rem?" Subaru was dumbfounded.
The man laughed ferociously. He was akin to a rabid dog. As he walked closer it became apparent that he loved to partake in self harm. His fingers were covered in blood and teeth marks. Subaru pulled a knife out of his rifts and threw it at the man, it was seemingly repulsed mid air.
"Your love for eachother is so great, so so so so great!" The man bowed as Rem fell to the ground in front of Subaru. Her body is unmoving…
Subaru quickly pulled out two more knives and threw them at the man. The man laughed as the knives lost all their momentum and were frozen in mid air.
"I'll kill you,you bast-?!" Subaru froze as something thudded to the ground in front of him. He looked down… Ohhh what a grace mistake he made by looking down.
Rems body lay there. Her limbs twisted until they were nearly unrecognizable from their original design. Even though her torso was facing him, her head wasn't. Her hair was covered in blood and so was her maid dress. If you were to say this blob of meat used to be a person nobody would have believed you.
"Your love for her is so great! When she died it sent ripples through your heart until it burst, burst, BURST!" The green haired man swiveled on his heels and began to walk away, not before barking out an order.
"10 of you stay here and watch over this apostle of love!" With that the rest of his soldiers disappeared into the forest along with him. Subaru fell to his knees. His body was working overtime trying to keep up with his turbulent mind. Alas there was no reason for him to stay alive. His blood flowed, his muscles contracted and expanded. But he had no rem.
He stayed still for multiple minutes until one of the figures got too close to him. The figure seemingly inspected Subaru through his slitted eyeholes. Whatever the figure was trying to gain from inspecting Subaru was instantly lost.
Subaru lunged from his kneeling position and put his face directly up to the figure's neck. It was so quick a motion that none of the other figures were able to react. In one jagged motion he bit down on his neck. The soft mushy neck served as a perfect prey for Subarus' bite. The figure was unable to fight back as it all happened too quickly. ripping out the insides of the man's throat, Subaru prepared to kill whatever stood in his way.
The other figures went straight into a fighting stance.
"I'll kill you all!" Subaru swallowed the jugular of the figure. He pulled another knife from the rift and rushed the nearest figure down. He planned on taking a few of them down before he died.
Before he could even rush another one down, he was hit by what seemed to be a truck... It wasn't a truck, in fact it was a fireball. The fireball collided with his figure and set fire to his entire body. His skin burned with the intensity of the sun.
'burns it burns it burns..'
His skin was completely gone, his muscles were being burned away, his clothes had been burned away. His eyes had exploded in his skull.
He flailed on the ground even though it was completely useless, the fire continued to devour him. His teeth started popping due to the heat.
Finally after nearly 5 minutes of pure pain… he was able to be blessed by the sweet release of death… or sweet in comparison to this torture…
Well that's it for this chapter, I apologize for it being so short even though I spent like a month on it, I just didn't have very much time to write it due to personal stuff…
Would you guys prefer if I made the descriptions more complex or kept them simple.
