Manny's taking a nap at home when her phone rings
Manny (groans): Hello?
Chester (softly): Hey mama, did I wake you up?
Manny groans as she sits up on the couch
Manny (groans): No, it's ok. I was resting, that's all
Chester: I miss you beautiful. Hearing your sleepy voice.
Chester sighs
Manny: I know Chester, I miss you too. How's mom, baby?
Chester: She's stubborn
Chester said with a chuckle as he hears Manny laugh
Chester: She's got a broken wrist, she sprained her ankle pretty bad, and she's got a concussion; she fell going downstairs with the laundry.
Manny: Chester, I really think it's time she moves down here. I worry about her being up there by herself, at least down here she'll have us, your brothers, and their girls
Chester: I know, I agree
Manny: She can stay with us in the guest room, until we find her a place
Chester: I already talk to Chuck, and Chad and they agreed Mom needs to come down by us.
Manny: Her birthday is coming up, isn't it?
Chester: Yea, a couple months
Manny: Why don't you guys get her a house out here for her birthday.
Chester: I don't know Manny, Mom's stubborn.
Manny: Well so are you, and if your kids are as stubborn as you and your mom, I'm gonna be in trouble
Chester laughs
Chester: I'll call you tonight when I get back to mom's, the doctor just walked in her room
Manny: Ok, I love you, I miss you
Chester: I miss you, I love you too babe
Chester hangs up, Manny calls Tommy
Tommy: Mrs. Johnson, to what do I owe the pleasure?
Manny: Are you at the studio?
Tommy: Yea, why?
Manny: I think I want to change a couple tracks on my record
Tommy: Manny, the record is done.
Manny: Tommy, I don't care, I want to change a couple tracks
Tommy: You'll have to take it up with Brayden and Jayme
Manny: I'll talk to them when I get down there
Tommy: Alright, I'll see you when you get here
Tommy hangs up, a short time later, Manny arrives at the studio
Tommy: So, I guess Congratulations are in order?
Manny: How did you find out?
Tommy: Well, you're wearing a massive oversized shirt in the middle of summer for one
Tommy said with a chuckle
Manny: We're going to tell everyone in a couple weeks, we just want to get past 12 weeks.
Tommy: Well, I'm happy for you, Santos. How far along are you?
Manny: Thanks, Tommy. We're about 8 weeks
Tommy: So, what is it you're wanting to change on the album?
Manny: I want to put "Nobody" on with my vocals only and put the one with Danny as a remix
Tommy: Ok.
Manny: I wrote a new song too
Tommy: Alright, well go see Braden and Jayme, in Braden's office for approval. Their waiting for you
Manny: Ok, I'll be back in a bit
Manny turns on her heel as she exits the studio and heads upstairs to Braden's office, and sees Jayme, and Braden, knocks on the door
Braden: Manny, Come in, Come in
Manny walks in the office
Jayme: Please, sit down
Manny has a seat in the chair Jayme pulls out for her
Jayme: So, Tommy tells us you are wanting to change a couple things on the new record
Manny nods yes
Braden: Let's have it, what do you want to change
Manny: Well, I was thinking, I'd like to put "Nobody" on with my vocals only, and put the one with Danny as a remix
Braden: Ok, what else?
Manny: I wrote a new song I'd like to put on it, as well
Jayme: Has the new song been recorded yet?
Manny: No, not yet, I just wrote it last night
Braden (to Jayme): I have a copy of "Nobody" with just vocals in my computer
Jayme nods at Braden as Braden goes through his files on his computer to find the song.
Braden: Here it is
Braden plays "Nobody" with only Manny's vocals for Jayme to listen to.
Jayme: It sounds good, Manny
Braden: I agree with Jayme
Jayme: Record the new track and have Tommy email it to us as soon as it's done and we'll go from there
Manny smiles as she stands up and leaves Braden's office and goes back downstairs to the studio
Tommy: Well?
Manny: Let's record the new song and send it to Braden and Jayme
Tommy smiles at Manny as she walks into the recording booth and puts on the headphones as she hears the music play
Manny (sings): It was a downpour, beating on the roof that night, rain coming down. Drowning out the pain, thinking about the hurt that you caused. Baby, you tell me you wish you could go back to that night, and erase the pain broke my heart in two. Yeah, you told me that you love me, you didn't mean to hurt me. You didn't wanna see me cry. There's always going to be a little hurt and a little pain, I tried ignoring the hurt, put my walls back up. You tried hard and got them down, but honey deep inside I knew we could work it out.
Danny comes in the studio and takes a seat next to Tommy
Danny (to Tommy): Is she working on another album or just a new single?
Tommy (to Danny): No, a new song for her new album that we just finished
Manny (sings): Yea, you knew about my past and when you met me, you knew I was unhappy, and I hated it. You saw the smile that I was tired of faking, yea, you took my heart by the hand, baby you put my heart back together. Yea you tell me you're the greatest fan of my life, you're the light that keeps me going, you've cured the pain that once was conflicted in my heart. Honey you're always settin' the mood right. Manny takes off her headphones and smiles as she walks back in the production booth
Tommy: You did good.
Manny (to Danny): When did you come in?
Danny (to Manny): Like halfway through your song.
Manny: oh ok.
Danny: Only you, would decide to make changes to the album after it's done already
Tommy, Danny and Manny laugh
Tommy: Ok, It's done. I'll email it to Braden and Jayme
Manny: Sweet, so what happens now?
Tommy: Well, they'll probably go over it, see if they like it, and if so, they'll email me and tell me if they agree to the change on your album, and I'll call you to come in
Danny: Just don't freak out if it doesn't happen right away. They may take a day or 2.
Tommy: Go on, get out of here. I'll call you If I hear anything
Manny: Ok. I'll see you guys
Manny smiles as she grabs her bag and leaves, she calls Chester on the way home
Chester: Hey Beautiful
Manny: Hi handsome. How's mom feeling?
Chester: She should be going home tomorrow. I called my brothers yesterday.
Manny: About having your mom move down here?
Chester: Yea.
Manny: What did they say?
Chester: They agreed, she should come down by us
Manny: I'm on my way home from the studio. I can swing by that house by us that's for sale and call the relator.
Chester: Send me the info for it baby. I'll look it over and talk to mom
Manny: Has your brothers been up to see her?
Chester: Chad came up for a couple days, he just left yesterday.
Manny: Well, that's good honey
Chester: What are you doing beautiful?
Manny: I just went to the studio and pitched them an idea for the album
Chester: The one you just finished?
Manny: Yea
Chester: What's the idea, baby?
Manny: I wanted "Nobody" with my vocals only, then the one with Danny as a remix.
Chester: Oh yea?
Manny: That song is special to me, Chester.
Chester: I know, baby
Manny: I wrote a new song too since you've been taking care of your mom
Chester: Oh yea? What's that about?
Manny: About us, when we got together, the fight we had, and how through everything we found our way back to each other.
Chester: I miss you baby. I wish I was home with you
Manny: I miss you too, more than you know babe.
Chester: Hey, I meant to tell you, I got a call from a buddy of mine, my buddy Chris in the band From Plain Sight
Manny: Yea?
Chester: They're playing a hometown gig in a few weeks and invited us to come see it. Told me to bring whoever I wanted, I thought we could invite Emma, Sean, my brothers', and their girls and announce our bundles of joy we're expecting
Manny: When are they coming into town?
Chester: He's going to get back to me with an exact date but we're going to have vip and everything.
Manny: I think that sounds like a good idea honey.
Chester hears a loud clap of thunder in the background
Chester: Are you guys getting a storm out there?
Manny: Yea, we're supposed to get hit with some bad weather, possible tornado, maybe. The news said it's supposed to be worse in Ottawa later
Manny said with a sad tone
Chester: Are you ok, babe?
Manny: I just miss having my husband here.
Chester: I know baby, I miss you too. I should be coming home soon, hopefully.
Chester hears a hospital monitor alarm going off and hears a doctor being paged to his mom's room
Chester: Baby, I got to go. I love you
Manny: Babe?
Chester hangs up
Chester runs in his mom's room and sees a doctor doing CPR on his mom
Chester: MOM!
Doctor (to the nurse): Get him out of here
Chester: You can't leave me mom! You're all I have left
The nurse escorts Chester out
Nurse: The doctor will come talk to you when your mom is stable
Chester begins pacing in fear, a short time later, the doctor comes out of the room and approaches Chester
Chester (to the Doctor): Is my mom ok?
The Doctor nods yes
Doctor: We had a little scare but she's stable, but I do have to ask, how long as your mom had that mole on her right arm?
Chester: Wha? What mole?
Doctor: I noticed a dark mole on her right arm when we were administering CPR
Chester: I-I don't know. I don't think I've ever seen it before
Chester begins to weep
Chester: Oh god, does this mean she has cancer?
Doctor: I'd like to run a couple tests on her, and take a sample of that mole to get a better look at it
Chester: Do whatever you have to do
The doctor nods and walks away. Chester calls Chad
Chad: Hey, how's Mom?
Chester: Dude I think Mom has cancer
Chad: What?!
Chester: I was talking to Manny on the phone, I heard the monitor going off-
Chad: Chester, Chester slow down, what the hell is going on? Do Chuck and I need to come out there
Chester: I – I don't know, Man.
Chad: Tell me what happened
Chester: I was talking to Manny on the phone, then the monitor in Mom's room starting going off, I run in, and they were doing CPR on her. Mom's ok, the Doctor came and talk to me. He ask me about a mole on Mom's arm
Chad: Ok, relax. It's probably nothing
Chester: What if it's not, Chad?
Chad: It's gonna be ok. Just relax.
Chester: She's all we have left, Man.
Chad: Mom's tough. Where do you think we got it from?
Chester (sighs): Yea, I guess you're right
Chad: Why don't you pull yourself together, then give Manny a call. Call me or Chuck if anything changes with Mom
Chester: I will
Chad: Love you, bro. Everything's going to be ok.
Chad hangs up and calls Chuck
Chuck: Hello?
Chad: So, Chester just called me, spiraling about mom
Chuck: What's going on with mom?
Chad: I guess, they had to revive her-
Chuck: What?!
Chad: I don't know what happen, but they had to do CPR on mom and bring her back, then when the doctor came out to talk to Chester, he mentioned something about a mole on her arm
Chuck: What mole? Mom doesn't have a mole on her arm
Chad: I guess the doctor noticed it, and now Chester's freaking out, worried that mom may have cancer
Chuck: He needs to relax
Chad: I know. But, what if she does though? I mean she's all we have left. Dad's been gone almost a year now, and when I was up there, I didn't see any mole, unless I just didn't notice it
Chuck: I know she's all we have left. That's another reason, why I think she needs to be down here, so we can all keep an eye on her
Chad: Oh, absolutely
Chuck: I think Chester was telling me there's a house by him for sale, that would be good for mom
Chad: Yea
Chuck: Come to think of it, when I talk to mom a few days ago, she sounded pretty tired and she told me she didn't feel good.
Chad: Yea, she looked tired when I was up visiting her. Chester looked wore out and exhausted
Chuck: Alright, I'm calling my Captain and taking some time off and I'm going up north to take care of Mom.
Chad: I'm coming with you, when do you want to leave?
Chuck: Be ready in an hour. I'll look at airfare
Chad: Alright, I'll see you in a bit
Chad hangs up and grabs a bag out of the closet
Jamie (to Chad): What's wrong?
Chad: Chuck and I are going to Ottawa to take care of my mom, we're concerned about her and Chester
Jamie walks over to Chad and places her hand on his shoulder
Jamie: Do you know how proud your dad would be right now? All three of you boys taking care of your mom.
Chad: She's all we have left, baby
Jamie: I know sweetheart. Just relax, everything is going to be ok
Chad: Thank you, babe
Chad walks over to Jamie and places his hands on her hips and smiles at her as she places her arms around his neck
Jamie: For what, baby?
Chad: Knowing what to say, to keep me grounded
Jamie looks into Chad's eyes and smiles as she runs her fingers through the back of his hair
Jamie: I love you, with all my heart Chad. Right now, your family needs you, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be than by your side, supporting you. I promise you babe, I will always be by your side
Jamie said as she leans in and softly kisses Chad
Chad: I love you; I don't know what I'd do without you
Chad smiles at Jamie
Jamie: Are you guys flying or driving?
Chad: Flying
A few minutes later, Chad hears a horn honk out front
Chad: There's Chuck
Chad opens the front door with his bag in hand
Jamie: I love you, be careful, be safe and call me
Jamie said as she kisses Chad as he walks out the door, gets in Chuck's car and leave
Chad (to Chuck): Have you talk to Chester? Does he know we're coming?
Chuck: No, he doesn't. I'll call him from the airport
Chad looks out the window as rain pours from the sky, the thunder roars, and lightning strikes
Chad: Are we even going to get a flight out?
Chuck: If not, we'll be driving or we'll camp out at the airport till morning
Chuck: Either way we will find a way to get out there
Chad: Well, if we end up driving, I can drive half way if you want
Chuck: Nah, I should be ok to drive, bud.
Chuck: Check the airlines online and see if any planes are leaving tonight
Chad goes online and checks the airlines for flights
Chad: Next plane is scheduled to take off at 9pm tonight, straight shot to Ottawa
Chuck: There's nothing for earlier?
Chad: Nope
Chuck: How many seats are left?
Chad: A lot
Chuck: Good
A short time later they park the car as they head into the airport, purchase their tickets and go through security and wait for their plane to board
