"The Earth divided is now a choice. Around or down. The decision is yours." Rafiki says as the group comes to a gorge.
"Across the deepest canyon. We should go down." Mufasa says.
"Why? Because of some fairy tale." Sarabi asks.
"Yeah. Won't that take longer?" Alexis asks.
"The rocks will hide our tracks." Mufasa says.
"It's safer to go around." Sarabi says.
"She's right. It's faster and safer." Alexis says.
"I picked up their scent." Mufasa says.
"The only thing you picked up is a hallucinating baboon." Sarabi says frustratedly.
"I am a mandrill." Rafiki says.
"This is a waste of time." Taka says as Alexis nods in agreement.
"Close your eyes." Mufasa says.
"What?" Sarabi asks confusedly.
"Tell me what you see. What you feel." Mufasa says.
"There's nothing on the land." Sarabi says annoyedly.
"No. They're moving through the bush wallow." Mufasa says.
"They who?" Sarabi asks.
"The females. Out front. Come on. Clear your thoughts. Concentrate." Mufasa says as Sarabi closes her eyes.
"I am concentrating. He's right. We have to go down." Sarabi says.
"Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow." Taka says as Alexis looks at him.
"We are more than one. Now the many sticks will make fire as one. Come on we have places to go. And kingdoms to see." Rafiki says as the group begins to get moving.
"And kingdoms to see!" Zazu says as he flies above.
*Timeskip*
While Alexis walking alongside Rafiki she sees Taka try to talk to Sarabi only to fail due to her not truly being interested and watches curiously.
"Ah you take interest in the young male." Rafiki says as he follows Alexis's gaze.
"What? No I don't." Alexis says as she looks at Rafiki.
"It is alright to show interest my dear." Rafiki says.
"Even if I am even remotely interested it's clear he likes Sarabi. Besides he and I are from different prides. Very different... It would never work." Alexis says as she sighs watching Taka.
"Sometimes differences can make for a common ground. He feels out of place just like you do. Give him a chance my dear. You might find more than what you see." Rafiki says.
"You're a very strange baboon... But a nice one. Thank you." Alexis says.
"You're quite welcome my dear. Now go talk to him." Rafiki says as Always trots to catch up to Taka.
"Hello Taka. Trying to talk to Sarabi I see." Alexis says as she walks beside Taka.
"Oh. Yeah... Though I don't think it went well. I just called her a duck by accident." Taka says shyly.
"I can see that. Not very good with words are you?" Alexis asks as she smiles.
"I'm not good with females in general." Taka says.
"I can tell. You seem to be talking to me just fine though." Alexis says.
"Well yeah but you're different." Taka says.
"Different how?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Well you can turn into a wolf and you're from the pride of Outsiders." Taka says.
"You mean my pride that your brother killed my brother?" Alexis asks annoyedly.
"Yeah... That pride. Listen I'm sorry for that. I know Mufasa did it in self defense but still. I'm sorry. What was he like?" Taka asks curiously.
"Shaju? Oh. He was kind, loyal, brave and protective. Very protective. And clumsy at times. He was truly family to me." Alexis says as she smiles fondly.
"Sounds like you felt out of place with your pride aside from him." Taka says as he notices the sadness in Alexis's voice.
"I do. But they're all I have Taka. It's why I'm going to Melile. With hope I can find better." Alexis says.
"I understand. I have felt out of place since we left our pride as well. What was your home like?" Taka asks.
"It was beautiful. Filled with a forest and lots of beautiful waterfalls that would seem like they danced on the moonlight. You know you're not so bad. For a clumsy, cowardly and bumbling lion." Alexis says.
"Hey!" Taka says as he chuckles causing Alexis to chuckle before the group hears elephants and see an elephant herd.
"They shouldn't be here. The migration patterns are broken. I don't understand." Mufasa says.
"Outsiders sir! This is not a drill. Just to be clear I never signed up for this." Zazu says as he flies above.
"It's okay. It's safe. They're on the other side. No! They can just jump across. We're trapped. What do we do?" Taka asks in alarm as he sees the Outsiders jumping across boulders to get across the gorge.
"The elephants will fight with us." Mufasa says confidently.
"And why would they do that?" Sarabi asks.
"Because I'm going to ask them. Got a better idea?" Mufasa asks.
"Yes Mr. Ask questions first. Get ready to run." Sarabi says as she runs toward a tree.
"Um... Where is she going?" Taka asks.
"No idea. Look you three you should know my dad is not one to give up easily. This is only gonna make him that much more persistent. You're better off running and finding a way to lose my pride." Always says.
"I'm with Alexis. I say we run." Taka says.
"Hello? Listen to me please. We need your help. Can you talk with me? We need your help. Please." Mufasa says as she tries to talk to the elephants.
"Sarabi where are you going!?" Alexis asks as Sarabi begins climbing the tree.
"She's going for the hive!" Rafiki shouts.
"Like I said get ready to run!" Sarabi shouts as she claws at the hive and sends it to the ground sending the herd into a stampede.
"Run! Get to the trees!" Rafiki shouts as he gets up in the tree before Alexis gets whacked by an elephant's trunk.
"Ow!" Alexis says as she begins to stand up only to nearly get trampled as Taka grabs her by her flank with his claws and pull her into a crevice in the ground.
"I got you Alexis. It's safe under here." Taka says as Alexis looks at him and nods.
"Where's Mufasa and Sarabi?" Alexis asks before Mufasa gets under a crevice with an unconscious Sarabi.
"Are you alright?" Taka asks as Alexis nods as the two get out of the crevice after the stampede is done before running over to Mufasa seeing Rafiki is tending to an unconscious Sarabi before she begins gasping and wakes up.
"Alive. She's alive." Rafiki says.
"Why are you all looking at me?" Sarabi asks.
"You were thrown from the tree. He saved your life." Rafiki says.
"Who?" Sarabi asks as she looks at the brothers.
"Taka. Taka saved you. Isn't that right brother?" Mufasa asks as he looks at Taka while Alexis is giving a slightly hurt look.
"You saved me?" Sarabi asks as she looks at Taka.
"Well I had had to do something." Taka says as he smiles.
"Thank you." Sarabi says as she nuzzles him.
"We're lucky. Those bees almost killed us all." Mufasa says.
"Those bees saved our lives." Sarabi says.
"Ah really? Because it felt like an elephant stampede." Mufasa says.
"We're alive aren't we?" Sarabi asks.
"The elephants would have fought with us." Mufasa says.
"We're lions! Nobody will fight with us. Not out here." Sarabi says as Rafiki begins walking while talking in a foreign language.
"Now where is he going?" Alexis asks.
"Beyond the horizon itself." Mufasa says as the group begins to follow Rafiki.
