Chapter 4
After a long trek in the foest with the woman who he learned her name was Kurenai Yuhi, they had gotten out of the forest and approached a huge gate with two stern-faced shinobi guarding it. He looked up at the gate and the buildings beyond them in wonder and awe, it wasn't until a cold mechanical voice sounded in his head that he gained his bearings

'I leveled up?, awesome. That mission was a lot more trouble than i thought but did i really get money?' He asked himself as he resisted the urge to just check his stats screen and his inventory rather snapping back to the real world
He noticed as the guards had noticed that it was Kurenai, they became a lot respectful, bowing as they greeted her
'She must have a really high position in the village seeing as the guards bow to her and my observe could only see her name' He thought however even as he was lost in thought the guards didn't care and had started speaking
"Greetings lady Kurenai, i take your mission had gone well?"
"Yes, it did" She replied with a polite nod
"May we ask who this is?"
"I found him in the forest, he was being chased by the rogue ninja" She said
"I see..." The guards said and nodded
"Can I go on, the Hokage said i should come see him when i return" She said
"Please carry on" They said and went to their original position
Kurenai nodded and made a gesture to him to follow and went into the village with Shadow trailing at her back. As they entered the village, Shadow eyes sparkled as he recalled the infamous layout of the buildings,
'So this is Konoha, i'm really here' He thought his entire body giddy with excitement
He looked up and saw the Hokage mountain, the four faces where carved with the overwhelming power of the Hokages in mind. He continued to follow Kurenai all the way to the Hokage's tower and soon enough Shadow found himself face to face with Hiruzen Sarutobi, the professor and god of Shinobi, he gulped as he knew that underneath the kind, old man face was a shrewd and battle-worn warrior
"Ah, Kurenai, i take that your mission went well" He said, taking a puff from his pipe
"Yes, lord third, it did go well however i had a little help" She said with a chuckle and pushed Shadow forward
"Oh and who's this" Sarutobi asked giving Shadow with an interested look
"This, lord third is Shadow Chaos, a boy I found just outside of the leaf village" She replied
"Outside of the leaf?, what's a boy of this young age doing outside of the village? and most importantly, you said this boy helped you?, explain" Sarutobi said and asked causing Kurenai to chuckle
"Patience, lord third i'll explain everything" She said and went explain how she underestimated the rogue nin and then got injured then how Shadow lured the ninja away allowing her to seal her wounds with a basic healing jutsu and finally end the rogue ninja, then explained Shadow's story
"Interesting" Sarutobi said after she had finished then turned to Shadow "You said you don't remember anything?" he asked him
"Y-yes lord third" Shadow replied nervous under Sarutobi's gaze
"Very well, that means you'll not mind if we go through your memories?" He asked again after looking at him for some time
"No lord third" Shadow replied calmly however he was panicking internally while he switched off gamer's mind
"Very well, get me Inoichi" Sarutbi said to one of his hidden ANBUs who appeared before him briefly, bowed and disappeared again while Kurenai frowned upon hearing his orders
"Lord third, isn't this a bit uncalled for?, I mean he's just a kid" Kurenai stepped for forward and whispered to him and Sarutobi sighed
"I know Kurenai and I'm not comfortable with this as well, however if he does turns out to be a spy for the other hidden villages and i didn't check just because he's a kid it'll be a disaster" He whispered back and just then there was a knock on the door and Kurenai returned to her former position "Come in" He said and the head of the investigative department, Inoichi Yamanaka walked in
"You called for me lord third?" He asked as he stood besides Kurenai
"Yes I did Inoichi. I want you to help me search this boy's brain" Sarutobi said pointing to Shadow
"May I ask why?" Inoichi asked as he took in how young and immature Shadow looked
"Well, he was found in the outskirts of Konoha with no memories but I just want to make sure he's not a spy" Sarutobi said
"Very well, lord third" Inoichi said then walked up to Shadow and knelt down to be on an eye-level with him then put him hand on his head "Relax, free your mind, this isn't going to hurt however if you put up resistance it will hurt" he said with a soft voice to Shadow
"I understand" Shadow said and did his best to relax as he felt something going through his brain however true to Inoichi's words, it didn't hurt and after few minutes, Inoichi opened his eyes and stood up
"He isn't lying lord third, all I saw was what you told me then before that nothing, nothing at all" He said ruffling Shadow's hair a bit
"I see" Sarutobi said as he seemed to be comtemplating something then he snapped out of it "Thank you for your help, Inoichi you can leave now"
"Happy to help lord third" He said then he bowed and left
"Shadow come here" Sarutobi said and Shadow obeyed with his head lowered, he still felt a bit woozy from that mind search session "What do you want to become in the future Shadow"
"A shinobi" Shadow replied without hesitation
"Why do you want to become a Shinobi Shadow?" Sarutobi asked with a serious expression on his face
"Because I want protect those who do not have the ability to protect themselves so they won't end up like me, nearly killed by those who abuse their power, that's my passion ever since I met miss Kurenai who saved me" Shadow replied determined
"But being a shinobi isn't an easy job Shadow" Sarutobi said trying to discourage him
"I don't care, I'll work as hard as i have to if it's to become a shinobi" Shadow said his mind set and Sarutobi glanced at Kurenai who nodded her head with a smile
"Very well then. Summon Iruka for me" He said to the ANBU who had summoned Inoichi then he turned to Shadow "I hope you thought this through" He asked with which Shadow nodded determined
"Everyone settle down" Iruka said as he entered the class with a tied up Naruto and Shadow trailing behind him
"This is your new classmate, Shadow Chaos" He said to the other students then turned to Shadow "Introduce yourself"
"Hey there, my name is Shadow Chaos, I like training and getting stronger and I hate loud places, it's nice to meet you all" Shadow said then bowed politely
"Shadow isn't from Konoha before you ask why you haven't seen him in the village, so any questions?" Iruka said and asked then saw Ino raise her hand
"Yes Ino?"
"Iruka-sensei, if he isn't from the leaf, where does he come from" She asked
"Shadow do you mind?" Iruka asked him
"There's no problem at all Iruka-sensei" He replied
"Alright then" Iruka said then cleared his throat "Listen then Ino, Shadow doesn't know where he comes from, he woke up in the forest just outside Konoha and after a close call with a rogue nin.." He said but was interupted as everyone gasped
"A rogue nin?!" was the chorus question as everyone stared at Shadow as if he was a monster
"Yes and please don't interupt me again" Iruka said a bit annoyed
"Sorry sensei" everybody apologized
"Accepted and as i was saying, he was saved by a jounin in our village and eventually joined the village, does this answer your question Ino?" Iruka finished
"H-hai sensei" Ino replied still shocked at Shadow surviving from a rogue nin
"Any other questions?" He asked and everywhere went quiet "Very well then, Shadow you can seat besides umm... Sasuke over there" he said pointing at Sasuke's seat "And no more pranking for you Naruto" he said harshly to Naruto who just chuckled and untied him, then both he and Shadow went back to their repective seats and settled down to which Iruka nodded
"And now as i was saying about the Chakra theory in our last class..." Iruka said and droned on with Shadow listen with rapt attention while noticing some glances thrown at him
Hours later
The bell rang, indicating the end of the academy session much to the delight of every students
"Okay that will be all on the Chakra theory, although there's more content, it isn't at your level yet. Be sure to study hard, I might give you a test anytime" Iruka finished then gathered his paper and left the class and immediately he did everyone [except others like Hinata who had gone home immediately the bell rang and Sasuke who was already sitting besides him] gathered around Shadow
"Is it true you survived from a rogue nin?"
"How did you survive?"
"Was it you who really killed the rogue nin?"
Dozens of questions where directed at Shadow who was just overwelmed by all their questions then before it got too much, he raised his hand up and everywhere went silent
"Okay i know you're all curious so I'll try to answer all your questions, just one by one please" He said
"Did you really survive being chased by a rogue ninja" Sakura asked and everyone turned to him
"Well yes I did-" he tried to reply and was immediately cut of again as everyone started with each other, clearly amazed "BUT, the rogue ninja didn't take me seriously and paid the price for it" He said catching everyone's attention and making them go quiet as they tried to picture themselves in his situation
"Do you really not know who your parents are?" someone asked and it was shockingly Naruto who asked at the same time with a downcast look on their face
"Yeah i don't, the only thing that I remember was waking up in that forest utterly confused then when i tried to find my way, i got chased by that ninja and you know the rest" Shadow replied holding the same downcast look as remebered his parents and knew that he would never see them again
Everybody noticed his pain and didn't ask any questions even though they wanted to. Then Ino walked up to him then hugged him and since he was still sitting down, his face got buried in her breast causing him to blush as he had never felt the feeling before
"Sorry Shadow, no child should go on not knowing about his parents" She whispered to him as she hugged him
"Y-yeah thanks" He said as he detached himself from the hug "I think we should all be going home by now" he said pulling almost everyone to reality as they thought of how their parents will be furious by them coming back so late.
Everyone departed to their various abode after bading each other goodbye and Shadow upon getting to the house given to him by the third Hokage, unmuted the system notifications then blinked as his sight was full of the blue system panel

He then noticed the treasure chest he got

He comtemplated if he should open it now or wait till he had increased his luck stat as he knew that although what is obtained from the box was random, things received will naturally bebetter with a higher luck stat. However he then shrugged
"Open" He said and the treasure chest shook and shook before finally opening

He opened the inventory and saw three new things. One was a sword that looked extremely terrifying, the blade of the sword was blood red and it seemed to be dripping blood, it's sheath was pitch black with seven diamond shaped holes on it and the edges of the blade was serrated however the spaces between the serrated blade was small and looked like the sharp teeth of an extremely dangerous beast or that of a demon, another was a giant book and the last one was a small vial with black liquid in it
He brought out the three of them from his inventory and picked up the sword and immediately felt a thick killing intent which made the killing intent of that rogue ninja look like nothing in comparison
He felt his impulses deadlock and it seemed that he couldn't breathe. Then slowly, he brought the sword to his neck feeling the urge to kill himself, he tried to stop himself however it was all pointless as the serrated edge of the blade touched his kneck then as he was about to do so, Gamer's mind kicked in and he suddenly regained control over his body then threw the sword away shuddering and taking in large amount of air into his lungs as his heart pounded against his ribcage.
Then when he had calmed down, he carefully made his way to where he threw it to then touched it, tensing his body as he expected to feeling that killing intent again however, he didn't feel anything so he picked up the blade and swung it a few times nodding as the blade was light enough to not be an inconvience but the serrated edge made the blade a deadly weapon, then he observed it
[Demonic sword]

The demon escaped however the demon's destructive Chakra remains, it's said that anyone who wields the blade would face the killing intenet of that demon then use the blade to kill themselves. Putting Chakra in the blade would release a demonic Chakra and when sliced with the blade, the Chakra will enter and a person with a weak willpower would either run crazy or kill themselves]
He shivered upon reading the description of the blade, he then remembered how close he had came to killing himself and how the system had saved him in a nick of time. But despite being scared of the blade, he was also curious and wanted to check if what the description said was true so he injected Chakra into the blade and watched with awe as a purple, straight up demonic Chakra came from the blade then he stopped before he accidently cut himself or exhaust his Chakra. He sheathed the blade and nodded and also learnt the manuverbility skill

Shadow was amazed at the skill as he remember how easily the rogue ninja who chased him and even Kurenai waded through the forest while he had to constantly watch his step so he wouldn't fall, so to him this was an extremely helpful skill as he sometimes read books on how higher mobility can help a person win a fight.
So lastly was the black liquid and as he held it in his hand, he wondered what it was for however he didn't think long before he used the observe on it

The short and strange description did nothing to elevate the worry and strange feeling he had in his heart, rather it only intensified it howevr he decided to put his trust in the system, after all the system wouldn't do anything to hurt him...right?
So with that feeling of worry in his heart, he opened the vial and sniffed however he couldn't smell anything, then after saying a short prayer he swallowed but didn't feel anything.
Then after a while, he felt pain like no other. He felt as if his insides where burning as he rolled oround on his bed thrashing hoping that the pain will stop however no such thing happened rather the pain intesified more and more up to the point that he blacked out, so he didn't see as eerie purple Chakra emnated from his body for a few seconds before disappearing.
