When they'd all made it back to Rei-chan's shrine, Mamoru couldn't help but notice the way Nephrite-san and Jadeite-san were looking at him as he told them what their first meeting with Kunzite had been like.
"I had suspected that the brainwashing Beryl subjected Kunzite to was more comprehensive than that of any of the rest of us," Nephrite-san said, shaking his head. "The Kunzite I knew would never have been so callously cruel."
"I'm really sorry you all had to go through that," Mina-chan – Aino Minako, who had introduced herself as soon as they'd all made it onto the warded grounds of the Hikawa Shrine – said, turning to Nephrite-san with a soft expression on her face.
"Thank you for your consideration, Ms. Minako," Nephrite-san said, looking grateful. "I only hope that Jadeite and I will have the chance to save them, as well."
"We'll do everything we can to help you save them, Nephrite-san."
"Thank you, Usagi," Nephrite-san said, a sad, gentle sort of smile on his face.
Mamoru couldn't help the thought that he'd seen that kind of look before; before he'd known who the Sailor Senshi were. Before he'd even met Usagi-chan and Trevor-kohai for the first time. Nephrite-san was looking at him, almost as if he knew what it was that Mamoru had been thinking about. Glancing briefly at the Sailor Senshi, gathered as they were around Mina-chan to welcome her to their ranks, he nodded at Nephrite-san.
If there was something that Nephrite-san could tell him about the past that Mamoru couldn't recall – even after he'd spent so much time around Usagi-chan and the rest of the Sailor Senshi – then he would find the time he needed to speak to the other man.

It was good to know that Usagi had someone else to rely on, but Trevor couldn't help wondering when they were going to be able to find the Silver Crystal. Mina-san had laughed softly, when Usagi had asked her if she was the Moon Princess that all of them had been looking for for so long, and so Trevor had found himself completely unsurprised when Mina-san had said that she wasn't. She'd also said that she had been looking for her, too.
That was no surprise, of course, since she was one of the Sailor Senshi; the last one, it sounded like, at least according to what Luna-sensei had said.
Still, the curious expression he'd seen on Mamoru-sempai's face – and the answering expression on Nephrite-san's – had drawn his attention, and Trevor was curious to know what his friend wanted to speak to the other man about. And so, as Usagi and the rest of the Sailor Senshi welcomed Mina-san into their ranks, Trevor made his way over to where Mamoru-sempai and Nephrite-san were both standing. When he asked what the two of them were talking about, Trevor found that Mamoru-sempai was planning to talk to Nephrite-san about what might be behind the dreams he'd been having since he'd lost his memories.
Trevor found himself shuddering slightly, remembering all over again just how much loss truly connected the pair of them, in the end.
Still, the fact remained that he was both curious and determined to support Mamoru-sempai drove Trevor to offer to come with the pair of them.
"All right, we should probably be able to find a private room to talk in," Mamoru-sempai said, smiling softly.
"Yes, I shall have to thank Hideyoshi for expanding the warded grounds, so that we have more space to live," Nephrite-san said, as the three of them settled down together at a low table.

When Trevor-nii and Mamoru-baka left with Nephrite-kun, Usagi glanced briefly over at the three of them, before turning her attention back to the other Sailor Senshi. Mina-chan had been telling them about the time she'd spent in England, fighting the Dark Agency and Danburite, who had been leading them. But, since talking about Danburite seemed to make Mina-chan uncomfortable, Usagi didn't ask anything more about it.
Still, there did seem to be something more to the way that Mina-chan felt about Danburite, so Usagi was going to do her best to support the other girl with the complicated feelings she seemed to have for him.
"So, that's what you've been doing," Rei-chan said, as they all settled down around one of the tables that Rei-chan's grandpa had set up for them when he'd found out that Nephrite-kun and Jadeite-kun were going to have to stay there for as long as the Dark Kingdom was after them. "I can't believe that the Dark Kingdom was attacking somewhere else, before they came here."
"It feels strange, knowing that people knew enough about a Sailor Senshi to make so much media about her, and no one ever suspected that anything was really happening," Ami-chan said, looking as worried as Usagi had ever seen from her.
"Sometimes it does," Mina-chan said, laughing softly. "But, they do say that truth is stranger than fission."
Usagi giggled. "That's fiction, Mina-chan."

When it had come time for him to leave, needing sleep but wanting to stay and find out more about what Nephrite-san and Jadeite-san – once what sounded like some kind of advisors to Prince Endymion; the person he had once been, before the life he was living now – had been talking to him about, Trevor-kohai had insisted on coming with him. He'd said that there was safety in numbers, and Mamoru had found himself agreeing. Though, considering how many attempts the Dark Kingdom had made on Trevor-kohai's life, Mamoru knew that such a thing worked both ways.
As the pair of them had left the warded grounds of the Hikawa Shrine, Mamoru made sure to keep an eye out for any sign of Kunzite, Zoisite, or any other attackers from the Dark Kingdom.
When he and Trevor-kohai had reached the apartment where he lived, it was late enough that Mamoru could only truly feel comfortable offering to allow Trevor-kohai to sleep in the living room of his apartment. Fetching a futon for Trevor-kohai to sleep on, while his underclassman called his family and told them where he was going to be staying for the night, Mamoru set up a sleeping area for him and then went to fetch dinner for the both of them.
Once the pair of them had finished their last meal of the day, Mamoru thanked Trevor-kohai for coming with him, and the pair of them went off to sleep.

He and Kunzite-sama had been tracking Tuxedo Kamen and the schoolboy who had been so troublesomely elusive for so long, and as Zoisite made his way into the main room of the house, he smiled as he caught sight of the schoolboy in the middle of the room. He was sleeping, which made things all the more easy. Leaning down over the schoolboy's sleeping head, he poured a handful of powder into his right hand and blew it into the schoolboy's face.
As the powder settled, allowing the schoolboy to breathe it in, the sleeping spell that Queen Beryl had cast through the medium of the powder took hold fully.
Gathering the schoolboy up in his arms, Zoisite turned to look at the path Kunzite-sama had taken; he hoped Kunzite-sama was doing as well as he had.

Making his way into the back room of the house where Tuxedo Kamen was presumably staying, Kunzite continued his search for the Rainbow Crystals. As he found the room where Tuxedo Kamen himself was sleeping, Kunzite narrowed his eyes as he made his way up to the bed where Tuxedo Kamen was laid out so neatly before him.
"Wait! Do not attack him, Kunzite! I order you to take him captive, as well!"
More than a little surprised to hear how insistent Queen Beryl was being, Kunzite moved to Tuxedo Kamen's side. Unlike Zoisite, he'd not come prepared to take any prisoners, and so would have to improvise since he'd little desire to face Tuxedo Kamen in such cramped quarters. Looking around the room for something he could use to render Tuxedo Kamen unconscious for easier transport, Kunzite didn't manage to find anything that would allow him to handle things in a simple fashion.
And so, Kunzite slapped his palms over Tuxedo Kamen's face, holding them over his sleeping mouth and nose. When Tuxedo Kamen's eyes snapped open, Kunzite continued to hold him down, even as Tuxedo Kamen began wordlessly struggling and fighting against him.

She'd had a bad feeling since Trevor had told Usagi that he was going to be staying for the night at Mamoru's house, and so Luna had hurried to the apartment where Mamoru lived. As she drew closer, Luna found her ears folding back almost instinctively. There was some kind of an evil aura coming from the building, so Luna ran faster and faster.
When she finally managed to reach the window of Mamoru's room, Luna felt her fur standing on end as she saw Kunzite standing over Mamoru, hands wrapped around the lower part of his face.
Leaping in through the window, the one she'd asked for Mamoru to leave open during the night for just this sort of reason, Luna slashed and scratched at Kunzite's face, driving him backwards so that Mamoru could get back to his feet. Gasping, freed from whatever it was that Kunzite had been doing to him, Mamoru rose quickly back to his feet. As Mamoru transformed, Luna looked for the communicator that Usagi had given him when he'd fully become an ally to the Sailor Guardians.
Just as Trevor had always been; Luna could only hope that he would be all right, too.
Once she managed to find Mamoru's communicator, Luna sent out an emergency signal to the rest of the Sailor Guardians, and hurried off to find Trevor before anything could happen to him. When she made it into the apartment's main room, she found Zoisite with Trevor's unconscious body cradled in his arms. Leaping at Zoisite, when the man hesitated for a long moment, Luna found herself wishing – not for the first time – that she could have caught someone before they hit the floor.
Still, even slamming into the ground with a dull thud wasn't enough to awaken Trevor from whatever kind of deep sleep had been forced upon him, and so – after she'd been forced to dodge an attack by Zoisite – Luna bit down as hard as she could on his right hand. As the door to the room slammed open and Mamoru forced Zoisite to retreat under a barrage of roses, Luna made her way up to Trevor's head. There was an eerie sort of tranquility to his face, locked into the unnatural sleep he'd been in since Luna had found him.
Even when Sailor Moon and the other Guardians arrived, driving off Kunzite even as Zoisite teleported back to the Dark Kingdom, Trevor still lay on the floor; still locked into that unnatural, deep sleep.

Hurrying to Trevor-nii's side, Usagi knelt down by the side of her brother's head. You just seem to be getting in more and more trouble with the Dark Kingdom, Trevor-nii, Usagi mused, wondering again if she should try to talk her older brother into staying away from the battles between the Sailor Senshi and the Dark Kingdom. But no, the Dark Kingdom had already their sights on Trevor-nii and the energies that made him Golden Kamen.
He wouldn't be safe, even if she did manage to convince him to stay away from any of the future battles between the Sailor Senshi and the Dark Kingdom.
Sighing, Usagi stroked the side of her older brother's face. Usagi didn't realize that she had started crying until she felt the tears on her face. Blinking as she felt something rushing out of her, Usagi looked up as she saw a sudden burst of strange light. Catching the strange… glittering crystal in the palm of her hand, Usagi blinked in surprise as she held the crystal in her hand for a long moment.
Before she could do anything more than wonder about the crystal she was holding in her right hand, Usagi suddenly found herself and the rest of the Sailor Senshi standing somewhere else…
