"Ah!" Agatha yells as she pats her head furisouly getting rid of any last cicadas. "Okay. All right. Okay," she continues as she turns to face the group, who now finds themselves in a scene straight from a 1980s summer camp movie cabin scene. "We're okay."
"No, we're not!" The entire Halloween aisle's outside waiting for us." Jen screams.
"And it doesn't look like they can get in, does it?" Agatha frustratingly responses as she continues to pick at her hair. "So all we need to do is complete the trial, and continue before they can reach us, okay?"
"How? Kiss, Marry, Kill?" Alice says looking down at her outfit.
"My spell book. I can't find it." Teen pipes in as he unzips a fany pack that he is now wearing.
"Where'd you have it last time?" Lilia says looking at Teen.
"Flying on a broom." He replies knowing what has happened to the book.
"Forget it. You can take the training wheels off." Agatha says as she steps into the room more.
"Should we be looking for a clue or something?" Bella asked Lilia.
"Yes!" Teen says enuthisically.
The group spreads out and starts searching the cabin for a clue that will start the trial.
"Whose trial is this anyway?" Teen asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Bella chuckles as she looks at Rio who then looked at Agatha. "Wasn't explecting this were you mama."
"Agatha. It is her trail." Rio says.
"How do you know." Teen continues.
"A blood moon. When the vail between the living and the dead is at its thinnest." Lilia responded.
"Wait, I thought talking to the dead was you department." Teen quickly asked back.
"Oh, common misconception. I read people, I read time. But talking to the spirits was just a con." Lilia replies.
"A dangerous con. You shouldn't mess with spirits." Bella replies concercingly at Lilia.
"Who better to commune with dead that someone who's put so many in the grave?" Rio says into a hairbrush while walking towards Agatha.
All of sudden a board game flips off a table and lands on the floor infront of Bella.
"Very subtle," she says as she picks up the boardgame and laughs, "also very ironic." Bella says as she hands the board game to Teen.
"You mean iconic?!" Teen says with a smile on his face.
"No, Teen." Bella says giving him a look.
"We have to Ouija." Teen says quickly which causes all the watches the group is wearing to ding.
"Showtime." Bella says saractically as she walks past Agatha with a smirk.
"Come on. We have to do this." Teen continues as he unpacks the board came and starts to read the directions. "Rule one, don't use the Ouija board alone."
The group of women strug their shoulders like that rule is obvious.
"Rule two, do not speak over each other."
"Where does it say that?" The Jen, Lilia, Agatha and Alice says in unison over each other.
"Good one." Bella said with a nod of approval.
"Rule three!" Teen continues "Don't taunt the spirits."
Slowly heads turns to look back at Agatha.
"What?" Agatha replies back.
"I repeat, do not taunt the spirits." Teen reforced directly towards Agatha.
"Four, do not ask about death. Five, always end you session with goodbye. Six, do not under any circumstances remove your hands from the planchette. If you do a spirit will be released." Teen finished.
"What does it say on the back?" Lilia says as she approaches Teen and flips over the instruction book.
"For ages three and up." He replies as he put the instruction book back in the box.
"Well, it seems like we are old enough to participate." Bella says as she grabs Agatha but the shoulders and guides her towards to Ouija board.
"Wonder who's waiting for you?" Teen asked as everybody starts to sit on pillows around the board game.
"And with what trauma." Jen adds.
As Bella sits down next to Lilia she looks over at Rio who eyes quickly meet heres. Rio knows that Bella is worried and can see the concern on her daughters face.
"It could literally be anybody, so." Agatha says trying to sound unbothered.
The group looks down at the board game and slowly start placing their fingers on the planchette.
"Mother, Maiden, Crone, spirits be known." Agatha starts with a smirk on her face. "I can hear something, can you hear it?"
The planchette starts to moving which causes panic in the group.
"Oh, my God are you moving it?" Teen says outloud but is quickly silenced by the group of women.
"Is someone hear with us, during this witching hour?" Agatha continues.
"Yes," Jen says as the planchette moves their hands to the yes on the board.
"All right, and who, may I ask do we have the pleasure of communing with? Agatha asked.
"M-R-S-H-A-R-T," Teen reads the letters outloud one by one as the planchette moves across the board.
"Mrs. Hart?" Alice asked quietly while looking at Jen.
"Hey, girl, feeling better?" Jen chimes in.
"Who is Mrs. Hart?" Bella asked confused.
"How's your face?" Alice asked as she looked around the room.
"No taunting?" Lilia responded.
All of a sudden the planchette moves quickly, catching Lilia off guard causing her fingers to come off the planchette.
"Your hands! What did you do?" Agatha asked angrily.
"I didn't mean to!" Lilia replies back in a panic.
Agatha let out a gasp and her starts to spinning in circles before her head pops up making the group jump.
"Oh my what a journey." Agatha says in a high pitched voice and she stands up. "There I was living my tiny life in the burbs, baking casseroles, linking in to conspiracy theories on Facebook, drinking before noon, and there you were bringing the chills and thrill and bringing on my own early demise."
"Listen, Mrs. Hart!" Lilia says to Agatha with a tone of senserity in her voice.
"She's not Mrs. Hart." Alice said to Lilia.
"She's Sharon Davis." Teen says sarcastically.
"I am! I'm Sharon Davis." Agatha confirms.
"She's full of shit." Bella adds looking at Agatha unimpressed.
"Yeah, she is Agatha." Jen continues.
"What?" Agatha giggles in a high pitched voice.
"She's just scared." Rio says calmly while starring down Agatha.
Lilia clears her throat signing Agatha to stop the act.
"Okay, I thought that was pretty good." Agatha says returning to her her own voice and demeanor.
'The clock is ticking." Alice reminds the group.
Rio taps the pillow Agatha was sitting on, directing her to sit back down.
"Fine." Agatha said as she sat down. "Well, lets get to it, right?"
The group looked at each other before slowly placing their fingers back ont he planchette.
"Try the right order this time." Bella says bluntly to Agatha.
"Maiden, Mother, Crone, spirits to be known." Agatha says in a slightly shaky voice.
After a few seconds the lights in the cabin start to flicker causing some in the group to gasp.
"Who is her with us tonight?" Agatha continues.
"D-E-A-T-H," Jen spells out as the plachette moves.
Rio lets of a laugh and Bella looks over at her and jokingly rolls her eyes.
"We're not suppose to ask about death." Teen says but is again shushed by the group.
"What do you want?" Agatha asked as she looked directly at the board.
"P-U-N-I-S-H," the group spells out in unison.
"Who do you want to punish?" Agatha asked.
"A-G-A-T-H-A," the group spells out in unison.
"Okay, stop!" Agatha pleads as the planchette continues to move over the letters that spell her name.
"Stop it! Make it stop!" Agatha continues to plead with the group.
"We can't make it stop." Jen answers.
"Stop it! Stop it!" Agatha continues yelling but the planchette and the group fingers keep moving when Agatha pulls back letting go of the planchette.
"What are you doing?" Lilia yelled as Agatha backwards crawled away from the board.
"The planchette continues moving and the group all let out a scream as the Ouija board flew across the room. High pitched shrieking then started that was so loud each memeber of the group was forced to cover their ears.
"Make it stop!" Teen yelled at Agatha.
"I would if I could." Agatha yelled back.
"I hated this the first time." Lilia yelled.
"Lilia is being weird again." Teen yelled.
"You're weird Teen." Bella delivers the childish burn in Lilia defense.
"What do they want?" Alice asked.
"They already told us. Punish Agatha." Jen yelled.
The cabin fell silent.
"Meaning we do what?" Alice said after a few seconds.
"Yup. It's how we pass the trial." Jen said approaching Agatha.
"Uh. I don't think so." Agatha says questionly.
"And after everything she's done, the lies, the cheating, the complete and utter lack of humanity." Jen continues.
"No, there has to be another way." Teen steps in.
"Right, yes!" Agatha says as she gestures towards Teen.
"We could tie her up." Lilia adds.
"You're not serious?" Teen questions."
"Humiliation would work too." Alice contributes as she walks towards Agatha, who is still sitting on the floor and is slowly being surrounded by the group.
"I mean, or we could just slit her throat." Rio states as she pulls a knife from the waistband of her shorts.
"When people ask me why I don't have female friends." Agatha laughs sarcastically.
"Well you have a tendency to kill all your female friends." Bella says even more sarcastically as she leads against a wall outside of the group.
"But we were getting along, weren't we? We were clicking. There was unity." Teen says stull trying to defend Agatha.
"Familiars don't get a vote." Jen says as she walks away to grab a bundle of rope, but when she turns around Agatha is gone.
"Whoa, what?" Lilia says shocked.
"Where did she go?" Alice asked she slowly groups closer to the others who are all looking around them as the lights in the cabin suddenly go out.
"What is happening?" Teen asked.
"She released a spirit." Bellas voice calmly comes from the darkness.
"You are just as creepy as Rio." Jen says dryly.
"Thanks...I think." Bella sarcastically.
"Agatha. Let's talk about this for a minute. We're sisters in the craft, remember?" Jen says into the dark room.
"We need light." Alice whispers.
"Here Teen." Bella says as she hands Teen a flashlight. "Might be a good idea to turn it on...but you do you." Bella conitues as she walks towards Lilia.
"Does anybody else hear that?" Lilia asked.
Alice, who is now holding a lantern starts to scan the room with light as the sound of heavy breathing fills the room and Bella sees something fall on Teen.
"What is that?" Bella says leaving Lilia side and touches something on Teens shirt with her fingers. "Little gross, but okay." Bella and Teen slowly lift their heads up and Bella pushes the flashlight up to the ceiling.
"Ah!" Teen screams as he illuminates a possed looking Agatha.
The room starts to break out in screams as Agatha jumps from the ceiling landing on her hands and feet.
"She is faking!" Jen confidently.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Jen." Bella responds.
"Look at her face!" Alice interjects.
Bella looks over at Rio with a face of concern.
"Sweetheart, you okay?" Rio asked.
Agatha's body starts to contourt and bones can be heard cracking as she back is forced up into a bridged position.
"Not faking! Not faking!" Alice screams.
Agatha flips back over and starts to crawl away. "Where is she going?" Jen panickly yelled.
"This is not Agatha!" Teen yells from a corner that Agatha is crawling towards.
"Hey, over here!" Jen yells trying to get Agatha's attention.
Agatha quickly turned her head and runs toward Jen and picks her up by the throat.
"Stop it! Let her go!." Alice yells as she runs towards Agatha and grabs her arms trying to get her to let go of Jen.
In all the chaos Lilia located a breaker box and turns the lights back on in the room. Once the lights are turned back on Agatha drops Jen to the ground.
"Are you okay?" Alice asked Jen who is gasping for air.
"Agatha? Where is she?" Rio yells angerly. "Agatha!"
The room is silent and the group sees smoke starting to come down the stairs.
"What is that?" Teen asked.
"Great, why not?" Bella says sarcastically.
"That is a ghost. I hate ghost." Rio continues as the ghost takes shape into a woman.
"Who...who are you?" Lilia asked.
"Evanora Harkness of the Salemites."
Bella turns her head quickly and looks over at Rio, both knowing this wasn't good.
"Hey mom." Agatha says appearing from the upstairs loft. "It was nice having you in my body for a secong there. I have never felt so close to you before."
"My coven risked everything to kill her, and you fools have willingly joined her." Evanora yells as she starts to float towards the group.
"Stop embarrassing me in front of my friends mom." Agatha says dryly.
"So what do we do? Do we banish her?" Jen asked.
"Emotion ties them to this place. They have unfinished business." Lilia adds.
"So lets finish her business. What do you want?" Teen asked Evanora.
"You must finish the Witches' Road without Agatha," Evanora states.
"She means punish Agatha." Lilia says planly.
"Leave her with me." Evanora continues.
"No. No way." Bella and Rio say in unison.
"A minute ago you were ready to slit her throat, and she might be your mother but you two clearly hate each other." Jen yells.
"Hate is a strong word, loth, maybe, but not hate." Bella replies. "Do you hate me Agatha?"
"Ahhh." Agatha replies.
"Okay, well I am speaking for myself then." Bella says looking at Jen.
"Whatever, her mother cannot have her." Rio says forcefully.
Evanora floats towards Bella. "Mother? She is your mother girl?" Evanora questions Bella.
"Agatha, techically yes." Bella responses.
"Bea, stop talking to her." Agatha said as she walked down the stairs from the loft. "Mom. Why do you still hate me?"
"Why do you hate her?" Evanora said pointing to Bella.
Agatha looks over at Bella who breaks eye contact and looks at the ground. "She took my heart." Agatha responded.
"You think she means that metaphorically or actually?" Teen whispered to Lilia who looked at him unamused.
"She took you heart? You were also born evil. I ought to have killed you the moment you left my body as you should have done to her." Evanora replies.
Evanora's words catch everybody off guard, especially Bella. Rio reaches up and grabs Bella's hand and she is not surprised to feel her magic pulsating with anger.
"We have to go. There is no flood here. There is no fire. The only danger to us in this trial is Agatha Harkness." Jen yells.
"Please take me with you." Agatha pleads to the group.
The exit to the trial opens on the other side of the room and Jen starts to walk towards it.
"Please I can be good! Please don't leave me with her." Agatha continues to pleads to Lilia, Alice, and Teen.
Evanora flies towards Agatha as she is pleaded and posses her again.
"No! Leave her alone!" Alice yells as she shoots yellow magic from her hands.
"Alice, no!" Bella yells.
"Knight of Wands." Lilia yells.
As Alice shoots her magic into Agatha Evanora's spirt floats out. Alice tried to cut off her magic but she can't. The yellow magic slowly starts turning purple from Agatha's end.
"No." Lilia yells.
"Agatha, stop!" Bella yells as she walks towards Alice and Agatha.
"What is up with her eyes?" Teen asked Lilia.
"It's her magic kid."
"Stop! I know you can." Bella continues.
Evanora spirit starts to fly aiming for Agatha. Bella lifts her hand and shoot purple magic from her hand and says a spell causing Evanora to disappear.
"Agatha! I will do it, stop!" Bella says as she looks at Alice who is life is visably being drained from her.
"Bea no!" Rio yells.
Bella walks into the magic that is streaming from Alice to Agatha causing Alice to drop to the ground. Bella stand infront of Agatha and starts to pull magic back from her and as she does the purple magic starts to turn green.
"You can't." Agatha said confidently.
"Oh I think I can. Like Evanora said I am evil. Must have got that from you." Bella says as she starts pulling Agatha's magic quicker.
"How is she doing that?" Jen says in confusment.
"She is more powerful that you think Jennifer." Lilia says in amazement.
"My love, help me!" Agatha yells to Rio.
"Bea, stop!" Rio yells
"Or what?" Bella says bluntly.
"Bea, I mean it. Stop!" Rio yells again.
"So am I mother." Bella says as she looks into Agatha eyes that are starting to get heavy. "How does it feel? Huh?" Bella says angerily.
"Bea, you aren't me." Agatha struggles to say.
Bella didn't say anything and continued to stare Agatha down.
Teen notices that the planchetta is spinning on the Ouija board and runs to it.
"Beatrix Vidal-Harkness. Stop." Rio yells as she gets closer to Bella.
"I am just getting started. You forced me to come to this place. You forced me to be with her." Bella yells back at Rio as she breaks eye contact with Agatha.
"Nicholas Scratch!" Teen yells from the Ouija board.
"Bea, stop. Please." The voice of small boy fills the room which causes the connection between Bella and Agatha to break.
"Goodbye." Teen says as he moves the planchetta over the goodbye on the board game.
Rio goes over to Agatha while the rest of the group,except Bella, runs to Alice.
"Alice wake up!" Teen pleads.
"Honey wake up." Rio says to Agatha.
Rio looks at Bella whose eyes are still glowing green.
"Alice! Please." Teen pleads.
"Agatha, honey, wake up." Rio continues and returns her gaze to her daughter who has a tear running down her face.
Bella turns towards Alice. "Alice?" Bella says calmly and looks at Lilia who nods no. "I don't understand I got to her soon enough." Bella says confused as she looks towards Rio who is now helping Agatha stand up.
"You were never good at saving people from me, my dear." Agatha said completly recovered, with Rio's help no doubt.
As Rio helped Agatha to the exit Bella turned her focus on Teen.
"Teen, she is gone. You have to go. Can you take him?" Bella said as she looked at Lilia and Jen who both nodded.
"Aren't you coming?" Lilia asked concerned.
"I will be there in a minute." Bella answered.
Bella grabbed her backpack and removed her pocket knife and sat infront of Alice. Bella crossed her legs and closed her eyes and started chanting a spell. When Bella opened her eyes Lorna Wu was sitting opposite her.
"Hold her hand, okay? She isn't gone yet, but will be soon." Bella spoke to Lorna as tears fell down her face. "I am sorry Alice, I tried I really did." Bella continues as she took the pocket knife and cut Alice's palm and said a spell causes Alice's spirit to pulled from her body. Bella made eye contact with Alice in spirit form.
"What is happening?" Alice asked as looked at Lorna and then at Bella.
"You died Alice, trying to save Agatha." Bella answered calmly.
"I feel so..."
"Free?" Bella finished. "That is a benefit of death."
"Who are you exactly? Why is my mom her?" Alice asked curiously.
"She is here to comfort you as you transition and I am exactly who you think I am." Bella answered.
"I can go with her?" Alice asked with a smile as she looked at Lorna.
"Yes, she will guide." Bella gestured Lorna to the door of the cabin.
"Will you tell Teen I am okay?" Alice asked.
Bella nodded as Lorna spirit pulled at Alice's hand.
"Bye Alice." Bella whispered as Lorna and Alice walked through the door of the cabin.
Bella was gathering up her things when Rio appeared back in the room.
"What was that?" She demanded as she quickly moved over to Bella.
"Alice didn't deserve to die like that and if you wouldn't have helped Agatha she would have lived." Bella said shortly not in the mood to deal with Rio.
"She is you mother. You cannot kill her." Rio interjects angerliy.
"Oh don't even go there. You are also my mother and you left me with a witch killer who by the way tried to kill me after you look Nicky. We might have both been her children but Nicky was always her heart and I was her curse." Bella said as she walked past Rio to the exit. "Are you coming?"
Rio shrugged her shoulder.
"Of course. See you whenever you decide to show up again." Bella said angerly as she exited to The Road.
When Bella reached The Road she could hear arguing between Teen and Agatha.
"How could you kill her?" Teen said as he walked towards Agatha.
"I couldn't...I couldn't control it." She responds.
"Don't lie to me. She said you could stop, why didn't you." Teen asked.
"I am not lying." Agatha continued.
"You wanted her power. That what this has always been about for you isn't it?" Teen asked sounding defeating.
"Of course it is. That is what this is about. For any of us." Jen adds as she walks past the pair.
"Death comes for us all." Lilia said as she turned to see Bella come from around a tree and reached her hand out for her.
"You okay kid?" Bella said as she patted his back with her free hand and continues to walk away with Lilia.
"Is that what is means to be a witch? Killing people to serve you own agenda? No, not for me?" Teen continues talking to Agatha.
Agatha snickered. "Are you sure? You are so much like you mother," she whispered before turning away to walk down join the others.
"Come pet." She signaled and that is when she noticed the blue coming from Teens fingers, but before she could say anuthing she is grabbed by Jen and Lilia whose eyes are glowing green.
"What are you doing now?" Bella says as she approached Agatha.
"Make him stop!" Agatha yells at Bella.
"Teen. I am impressed I didn't know you had powers." Bella said to Teen but he did not respond.
"Is he okay?" Bella said looking to Agatha.
"Look at me. I am not okay. Help me." Agatha demanded.
"Why would I do that exactly? You just killed Alice. He trusted you and you betrayed him." Bella replied.
Just then Teen squeezed his hand and Jen and Lilia start carrying Agatha to a mud pit and throw her in. Bella watches as Agatha starts to sink into the mud then she glances at Teen.
"Who is he Agatha?" Bella demanded over Agatha's screams for help as she sink further into the mud and quickly vanished from sight.
"Teen. You okay?" Bella asked but he still does not respond and instead throw his hands in the hair throwing Jen and Lilia into a pit of mud. Bella noticed a headpiece forming on Teen forehead.
"Well something are better kept a secret. Time to go I think." Bella said as she ran to Jen and Lilia who were begging for help.
"Listen, stay calm and just sink." Bella said as she slide her body into the mud. "Trust me, see you on the other side."
