'' I intend to bring dear Ursula back into the fold."

Ariel's heart raced as she listened, both intrigued and utterly horrified. ''You want to resurrect Ursula? But she was defeated!''

''Defeated, yes, but not destroyed, at least not in the way you may think,'' Morgan replied, her eyes gleaming like dark jewels, beautiful, but full of malice and evil. ''With the right incantation and the right amount of power…'' Her voice trailed off, and a dark smile danced across her lips as she looked from Triton to Ariel, reveling in their confusion, then letting her eyes still on Melody.

''You can't mean….'' Ariel trailed off, realizing the implications as she stared down at her daughter in her arms. ''You can't-'' Ariel's body froze the moment the sea erupted with a violent thrash towards her in a powerful tentacle, as chaos erupted, and Melody was caught up in it. ''Melody!''

''Such a beautiful, valuable prize, don't you think? Just like her mother….so full of potential.''

''Morgana!'' Triton shouted as his mind replayed the last few seconds, watching his granddaughter get swiped up by Morgana, how her little body dangled over the blackly water below. ''Oh, boys! Dinner time!'' Poking their heads above the water, Ariel was stabbed in the heart the moment her eyes laid upon them. Two large piranha's. ''Melody!'' Eric roared, panic, and fury coursing through him as he tried to lunge to get his daughter back, but Morgana's grip was impossibly tight, her fingers like iron around Melody's little waist as she dangled the girl over the ominous depths below. ''You can have anything you want, just don't harm little Melody.'' he bellowed, but his words seemed to fall flat against her malevolent laughter.

How her dark hair flowed around her like a halo against the deck's side, the shadows of her magic swirling around her shoulders. ''Oh, but it can't be that easy. I know it can't. I want the trident, and I don't see it with you.'' she sneered, her eyes flashing with delight as the young princess squirmed in her grip, eyes wide with terror as she screamed out for her parents. The piranhas, named Jet and Fry, gleaming with their sharp teeth and hungry eyes, finally broke through the waters, their intentions unmistakably predatory. Their scales shimmered like polished steel, and Ariel's heart couldn't stop pounding as her eyes darted between Morgana, her daughter, then the snapping jaws waiting just below.

''Morgana please! Daddy can get the trident, he'll bring it here! Just-whatever you do, don't let her go!''Triton's voice rose with rage, "You will never get away with this!" He felt the energy of the sea thrumming around him, his heart drumming in time with the tides as he prepared to unleash his strength. The water roiled, a hint of his own fury engulfing the scene.

"And what will you do about it, dear brother-in-law?" Morgana taunted, her grip tightening as Ariel made a desperate noise. "You can't even save your own granddaughter from the inevitable." With a surge of adrenaline, Triton closed his eyes, summoning every ounce of magic he possessed, the water swirling in response to his anger and power, just as the corners of the inky black began tearing apart, making way for something ancient and drowned in gold. The Trident.

The water around Triton swirled chaotically, reflecting the tempest brewing within him. With a deep, steadying breath, he reached into the ocean's depths, pulling upon its ancient currents, drawing forth the power he had claimed as king. The energy surged at his command, and he felt the familiar weight of the Trident as it beckoned him from beyond the tumultuous wave. As he envisioned the Trident breaking through the surface, a rush of sheer force pulsed within him, for that's what it did. The sea knew their bond, as did the magic that coursed through his veins. Even though he'd given the crown to his second oldest daughter, with one last push, the Trident pierced through the water with a brilliant flash of gold that illuminated the shadows. With a swift motion, Triton reached out for it, the Trident falling into his grasp with a familiar weight that anchored his resolve. ''You want it! You can have it!'' Triton commanded, as without a second's thought he angled the trident downwards, then sent it flying towards the sea witch's chest. However the blood that filled the deck's surface, didn't flow black...
