My Sensei is an Assassin
Chapter 5
Lessons
...
Previously on this story,
Nagisa explains to the students about their schedules, exam timing, and timetables. The 1st period starts, and everyone goes to their respective courses and meets their teachers. Then their other subject periods go on. During lunch, the students discuss how unusual Nagisa is. Their P.E., Gymnastics and mountain hiking had exhausted them completely, and they slept quickly. After struggling to walk, Izuku went to meet All Might the next day, only to be rendered speechless by the cryptic words that awaited him.
"I think, Young Midoriya, that your brother killed several people last month."
...
NARRATOR'S POV
"All Might, what the hell are you saying?" Midoriya asked, furiously and shockingly.
"Young Midoriya, please listen to what I am saying. I didn't say that he killed; I just think he has." All Might said, trying to ease him and make him understand the situation better.
"What's the difference? You're still pointing fingers. Please explain why you believe that."
"*Sigh* It all started a month ago. Do you remember the mall hijack incident that happened in Shinjuku?" All Might asked, to which Midoriya nodded.
""In a shocking turn of events, 50 heavily armed terrorists, each flaunting dangerous quirks that made them even more formidable, stormed into the bustling mall and took hundreds of innocent shoppers and staff hostage. Their primary demand was the release of their leader, who had been apprehended by heroes during a prior operation. In response, a contingent of heroes quickly surrounded the mall to facilitate the rescue of the hostages and address the terrorist threat.
However, during this unfolding crisis, the Ministry of Defence issued a directive, instructing the heroes to stand down. They indicated that an Agent was already on site, assuring that the situation was under control. Despite concerns regarding the decision to relinquish authority, the heroes adhered to the orders given.
Twenty long, tense minutes passed, during which some of us heroes began to contemplate breaching the mall's perimeter ourselves. To their surprise, the mall's gates opened, and hostages began to exit. Upon proceeding inside to evaluate the conditions and confirm the safety of all individuals, the heroes encountered a scene marked by significant chaos and disruption.
With our hearts racing, we rushed inside to assess the aftermath and ensure the safety of all still within, but what we saw was a chaotic scene of destruction and confusion.
There were dead bodies of terrorists scattered everywhere. Some have twisted necks, knives, or sharp objects placed in their necks. Some had their heads chopped off. It was evident that this was carried out brutally and violently, involving gruesome acts of violence. And yet very silently, as if the chaos had never happened because no one heard anything outside the mall." All Might provided an explanation of the incident.
"Was my brother behind those terrorists deaths?"
"I don't know. We didn't see the Agent anywhere; we thought that he got mixed in with the crowd and hostages also didn't see him. They said, he impersonated as a terrorist to kill the last members of the group. I asked some of my friends in the Ministry, and they said that there are many people they believe could do something like that, but if they had to guess, it must be Isogai Yuma because he was absent that day and has the trust of the Chief."
Midoriya didn't know what to say, internally he was thinkng, 'Is Big Brother capable of killing 50 terrorists without getting detected in such brutal ways? But if I see the training of the school, it all makes sense because every part is designed to do exactly that. To protect civilians and decapitate villains in such situations where you have to choose between the lives of bad guys and civilian life.'
"Young Midoriya, are you listening?" All Might asked, in concern.
"Y-yeah," Midoriya came back from his internal thoughts, took a deep breathe and asked, "But All Might, if that was really my brother, then what he did was protect the civilians without getting detected. The most important thing is that he saved lives, right?" Midoriya finally responded, trying to rationalise his brother's actions. All Might nodded in understanding, knowing that sometimes heroes must make difficult decisions in order to protect others.
"I understand, Young Midoriya. Heroes must prioritise saving civilians above all else. I just want to ensure you grasp the gravity of this responsibility. Sometimes you have to choose between saving the civilians by taking the life of the villain or not killing the villain and letting the civilians die, just like in this situation. I also want to say one more important thing: even if your brother was the one who did that, you should only do that as a last resort."
"I understand, All Might. Then shall we begin our training?" Midoriya said, trying to shift the topic.
(Timeskip 6 AM Dorms)
Midoriya went to the dorms and got ready for school.
'It's a good thing All Might didn't push me too hard in training, or else I would be dead before the month is over.' Midoriya internally thought.
Their tired muscles ached as they went to school, which today meant scaling the rugged mountains surrounding them. Midoriya and everyone else put their bags down and sat at their desks except for two boys. Kaminari and Saito were hiding sideways towards the door with rubber knives in their hands.
"Oi! You too, what are you thinking of doing?" Jiro asked with a raised eyebrow, noticing their suspicious behaviour. Kaminari and Saito exchanged mischievous grins before replying,
"Just trying to win a million yen. Did you forget about the task of 'killing' him?"
"I remember that. What I am asking is, are you sure you can do the job?"
"We don't know if we don't try." Kaminari replied.
"You're right. Let me join too." Tsubaki said, taking out her knife too, and positioned herself.
(Timeskip 5 minutes later)
MIDORIYA'S POV
5 minutes later, sensei slid the door, and Kaminari-kun, Saito-kun, and Tsubaki-san struck their knives, but sensei quickly ducked, letting Saito-kun and Kaminari-kun headbutt each other, and then he grabbed Tsubaki-san's ankle and swiftly pinned her down, then used his hands to slam Kaminari-kun and Saito-kun against the wall while holding Tsubaki-san with his legs and quickly disarmed all three of them. He smiled and said, "Nice try, but you should keep your bloodlust in check and don't let it leak and try to attack me before I slid open the door fully. Now sit down and let me start the class."
"There's an announcement I have to make. In 4 months, your 1st semester exams are going to be held."
With a mysterious smile, he handed out papers revealing a photo of a school unfamiliar to the students, sparking curiosity and speculation among them.
"Sensei, what is this?" I asked.
"This will be the school you're going to compete against in your exams," he replied.
"Sensei, I don't understand," I said, and everyone else also agreed.
"This school's principal and we are former rivals from our junior high time. He founded this school about a year ahead of us and suggested that both schools should engage in friendly rivalry to help their students grow. Teachers from both schools will assist one another in creating test questions. The same exam must be taken by students from both schools. Additionally, this is a small rivalry amongst us too."
"Sensei, who is this school's principal?" I asked, eager to learn more about the person we would be competing against.
"His name is Gakushuu Asano, and he was known for his intelligence and leadership skills back in our junior high days. He obtained his MBA from MIT and became the CEO of a tech company in Silicon Valley." Sensei explained.
"Why did he start this school if he is a CEO?" Kaminari-kun asked, curiously.
"Our junior high got disbanded a year after our graduation because of inhuman treatment and discrimination against the students. They were trying to create leaders by discriminating against and hating those who were lower than them. Asano wants to change that type of teaching system just like us, so after he became successful, he came back and built that school on that same ground of our Junior High. He wanted to create a place where students could thrive based on their own abilities and hard work, not by tearing others down," Sensei continued. "Asano believed in nurturing leadership qualities through positive reinforcement and mentorship, rather than through fear and discrimination. That's why he started this school—to provide a better alternative for young minds to grow and develop."
"Sensei, I have a question. Is he related to Rio-sensei?" Michiru-san asked.
"Yeah, she's actually his wife! This was huge news for us, especially considering we've been fierce rivals for years. It turns out that when she was working as a diplomat in the US, they crossed paths and really got to know one another. But they tied the knot just four years ago!" he shared with a hint of disbelief.
But he continued, "But enough of that; we will talk about our past some other time. We should start our class. Today we are going to learn Morse codes. You must have seen it in several spy films, right?" Everyone nodded. "Morse code is a method of communication using dots and dashes to represent letters and numbers. It was invented by Samuel Morse in the early 1800s and is still used today in certain situations, such as by amateur radio operators. Today I will teach the basics of conversation, and you have to practice it at home."
*Bell Rings*
We started moving to our designated classroom when sensei called, "Jiro-san, can I talk to you for a few minutes alone?" To which she nodded and went to talk with him.
NARRATOR'S POV
Nagisa and Jiro were alone in the empty classroom.
"Sensei, is there something you want to ask?" Jiro ventured, trying to keep her voice steady despite the flutter of nerves in her stomach.
"Actually, is there something you want to discuss with someone?" He replied, his tone inviting yet probing.
Jiro's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean, Sensei?" she asked, her heart beginning to race as she felt the intensity of Nagisa's gaze.
"I saw you holding your training knife gripping shakily when they attempted their assassination."
"I couldn't help but notice you gripping your training knife rather shakily during the assassination attempt," Nagisa said. There was a moment of silence, and Jiro's heart pounded in her chest as she processed Nagisa's observation.
"Are you having some trouble because of what happened yesterday?" Nagisa inquired with a concern that pierced through the air, her voice calm yet filled with genuine care.
"How do you know?" Jiro asked in shock.
"I am your sensei; it is my responsibility to observe and guide my students," Nagisa replied, her gaze softening as she approached Jiro with a sympathetic understanding. "As for your troubles, try not to dwell on them too much. It's natural to feel apprehensive after such an experience."
"HOW COULD I NOT THINK ABOUT IT? I want to become a hero; I can't fail like that because failure in my job means lots of casualties. My parents are musicians, but they still let me follow my dream, so I can't fail like this." Jiro said frantically.
"It's good that you realise the importance of your work because it's the first step in minimising the mistakes. As humans, we are prone to making mistakes. What matters most is how you learn from those mistakes and grow in the future. Just remember that failure is not the end; it's an opportunity to grow and become better at what you currently are." Nagisa reassured Jiro, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You make mistakes and learn from them here, so that you don't have to make those mistakes again in the future."
Jiro understood the meaning of what he was saying, "Thank you, sensei, for the encouragement. I will try to be better and learn from my mistakes here, and I will definitely win that 1 million yen before graduation."
In response to this declaration, he just smiled proudly just like his late sensei, "Heh heh, we will see about that. Now go to your class; it's already quite late."
"Okay"
And the day went on like that.
.
(Timeskip Saturday)
.
Each day mirrored the intensity of Monday, showcasing the students' mastery in knife handling, bullet evasion, and exceptional gymnastic abilities, underscoring their remarkable growth and resilience.
Right now they are climbing mountains for their extra classes. They are excited to meet their new teachers for a day and what they are going to teach them.
"Hey, who do you think is going to come to teach us?" Michiru asked excitedly.
"I don't know, but it can be someone famous because everyone who teaches us here is either quite famous or is in a very high position. For example, who could've thought that a bureaucrat taught us math? I didn't know that Karma-sensei is a bureaucrat; I had to search his name the next day because I had heard that name somewhere before." Tsubaki said,
"Don't forget about Takebayashi-sensei and Manami-sensei." Saito said excitedly.
"Yeah, them too," Tsubaki said.
"I thought I was dreaming when I saw Sugino-sensei as my teacher. I am a big fan of his pitching. I was sad when he announced his retirement. But I am excited to learn from him." Kaminari said.
"Yuma-sensei is not famous but is a government agent. It's a qualification on its own. Rio-sensei is a diplomat, and it's a high-level position too." Jiro said.
"Hinata-nee san is a professional acrobatics player too." Kaminari said.
"If we look at it from another angle, there are only two teachers we don't know almost anything about, and you know who I am talking about." Saito said and paused for an answer.
"Nagisa-sensei and Ritsu-sensei," Midoriya replied.
"Nagisa-sensei is highly trained, as his reflexes and senses are very sharp; he sensed us every time we tried to attack him this week. My guess is that he is also a government agent like Yuma-sensei."
"Then what about Ritsu-sensei? We didn't see her in the real world. I am now thinking, Is she even real?" Tsubaki asked.
"What? Are you saying she is rather than being human; she is an AI? Even if she is, then how are you going to explain her expressions and way of talking? She is as humanly as we are." Jiro said.
"I am not saying if she is a human or not. What I am saying is that she could be an avatar of someone who is an expert in computer stuff. To protect her identity and teach us, she could have created an avatar." Tsubaki gave her theory.
"It can be possible," said Saito.
During their climbing, the students encountered an elderly couple struggling with canes, prompting a heartwarming display of kindness as the students offered assistance and guided them along the challenging path.
"Hello, Grandma and Grandpa, do you need some help?"
"Oh kids, thank you for asking. We want to go in the direction of the prep school, which is in the mountain. Can you tell us the direction?" The old man asked in a raspy tone.
Tsubaki quickly pulled out her phone and opened the map app to show them the way. "It's just a bit further up this path; we can give you a ride as we are also going there," she said with a smile. The old couple thanked them and followed along, grateful for the assistance.
After a brisk 20-minute trek, they finally arrived at the school, their path marked by challenges overcome and bonds strengthened during the journey. They couldn't have thought these two old couples could be this heavy, so they took turns giving them rides.
When they reached their destination, they saw that teachers were standing outside the gate.
Students dropped the elderlies, and the old couple thanked them when Nagisa came, and said,
"So, you all met your one-day teachers, huh?"
"Huh? They are our teachers, sensei?"
"Well, Kaede, Sugaya, why don't you introduce yourselves properly?" Nagisa said, grinning.
"Why not, Nagisa?" Both elderly said whose voice did not match their age. They stood straight and removed their wigs.
"My name is Sosuke Sugaya. I am a professional artist, and I will teach you how to disguise for infiltration and hiding in plain sight," said the tall, slender man with light grey/silver hair and dark eyes, as he unveiled his true identity by shedding his mask and layer of skin in hand that helped him in making fake wrinkles in hands.
{Sugaya is [Quirkless] just like some of his classmates but during Assassination Classroom he developed his unique talent of Disguise and impersonation and is the best in his class. With only seeing a person one or two time, he can mimic them perfectly.}
"My name is Akari Shiota (Akari Yukimura), and I will teach you how to change your expression proficiently to fool others and let their guard down to attack. Just like how I let your guard down with my acting." said the female who only removed her wig and as she closed her eyes and concentrated, an astonishing transformation occurred—her whole body began to de-age, leaving the students wide-eyed and filled with amazement at her extraordinary powers. In front of them is now a female who was short and slender, with light green hair that was fashioned in two pigtails.
{Akari, also known as Kayano Kaede and by her stage name Haruna Mase, possesses the [Quirk: Cell Cycle (Awakened)]. Initially, this Quirk enabled her to manipulate the dermal and epithelial tissues of her body, which aided her in joining Class 3E while remaining unrecognized. Following the tragic death of Koro-sensei and her own life-threatening experience, her Quirk underwent an awakening. This enhanced ability allows her to control the cell cycle of various types of cells and tissues in her body that can divide. However, it is essential to understand that she cannot manipulate permanent cells, such as those found in the heart, skeletal muscles, and nerves, as these do not undergo the cell cycle.}
"Wait a minute. Shiota? Are you and Sensei related somehow? But you also remind me of someone very famous too, but I don't know who." Michiru asked Akari.
"Yes, we have been married for 6 years." Akari replied, with a hint of blush.
"It took this dense guy 7 years to realise that she loves him and he also loves her," Muramatsu suddenly said, to which Nagisa was just embarrassed. His students were surprised to see this side of their teacher; they only saw a sometimes scary and sometimes smiling teacher, not an embarrassed teacher.
"Yeah, we had to plan a big operation with that star to make him jealous and confess his feelings. And if he didn't confess to her, she was going to confess to him because she was tired of waiting all this time; she wanted a proper answer, and he gave her one," Yoshida said, grinning.
"Ok, enough of that; we don't have time for all this. Girls with me and boys with Sugaya. After an hour we will exchange our groups." Akari wanted to change the topic as she was blushing.
Akari's Lessons
"Mastering emotional control involves regulating your heart rate through precise breathing techniques, as each emotion corresponds to a distinct breathing pattern. Today's lesson will provide hands-on practice to demonstrate the correlation between emotions, breathing, and facial expressions."
As they practiced the breathing patterns, some students struggled to maintain calm, while others showed visible improvement, reflecting their varying levels of mastery.
"Keep practicing these techniques. Once you master these patterns, facial expression change will be a piece of cake."
Sugaya's Lessons
"Disguise is not just an external layer but an extension of yourself. While conventional masks are outdated, advanced holographic technology called 'Photostatic veil' seamlessly integrates with your appearance without adverse effects. However, these masks are only used by government spy agencies. Additionally, mastering the persona you adopt is crucial; in disguise, your true identity fades, and you embody the character you portray, including voice modulation for a convincing performance. For that, a gadget is used called a voice modulator."
Throughout the next hour, they grappled with the intricacies of the holographic mask and voice modulator, adjusting to the advanced technology with varying degrees of success.
After an hour, both groups were exchanged, and the lessons were the same, so the next hour also passed.
"Mastering these techniques will pave the way for the next phase of training, promising exciting challenges and growth opportunities ahead. Keep practicing diligently to unlock your full potential." Nagisa said.
"OK, Sensei," everyone shouted.
(Somewhere deep in the mountains)
As the students were gone, all the teachers went to the deeper part of the mountain. There they reached a small waterfall. They slid a rock away from the ground and opened a manhole that required voice recognition and a password.
"KORO-SENSEI," Nagisa said, typing the password.
As the authorisation was confirmed, manhole opened, and ladders leading downwards were seen. They all took the ladders and reached the bottom floor. The sensory lights turned on and showed the way. After a minute of walking, another door was seen. This door required the palm print scan, retina scan, voice scan, and a DNA scan of each and every member present there. After the authorisation, all of them were taken by a moving platform towards another giant door. But this door slid open automatically.
The door revealed a very large area and several familiar faces.
"Hey Itona, you really have put a lot, I mean a lot, of security here. We can just ask Ritsu for permission to enter, but you even had Ritsu logged out of the security system of this place." Muramatsu complained.
"I explained this earlier, but I think, as your brain is, I have to explain this again." The white-haired man said without moving his eyes from the tablet screen.
"What did you say?" Muramatsu growled, and Yoshida was stopping him from doing anything.
"This whole place is top secret; even the government does not know about its existence, so this level of security is required and necessary." We had to monitor every government surveillance satellite, either of Japan or of other nations; we even had to secretly hack the non-governmental satellites, whether they are legal or illegal for this place's construction. We were only able to construct this whole underground base in just 3 years because of Kirara's illusion quirk and my mass-produced construction bots; even then, the whole base will take approximately half more year to complete. But it raises ethical concerns about manipulating quirks for personal gain and exploiting technology for secretive purposes. But we don't give a damn about it.
As for Ritsu logging out of the security system of this place, we all remember that Ritsu had already been hacked before by Reaper, so it was very risky to have her access the whole security system as she is still a target. Every powerful nation wants to have an AI that can evolve on its own, so they will do everything they can to hack and to make her their slave. And I already talked about this with Ritsu, and she has agreed with me too." Itona explained everything in detail with his usual monotonous tone.
Itona Horibe [Quirk: Technokinesis (Awakened)] is a young genius. After graduation, he enrolled in the U.A. High support department, but in just a year, he graduated from there too. He became the youngest to get an invitation from I-island to study. He studied there for 3 years in advanced engineering and started his own company, Horibe Industries, for support items and other items. In secret, he was inventing high-tech suits and weapons for 3E in case of emergency. His quirk, awakened after Koro-sensei's assassination, just like his other classmates, at first only allowed him to control technical and mechanical objects to a certain extent; he was also able to understand the basic mechanism of simple technical stuff. But after his awakening, he can control any type of tech in the world; before, as the size and density of the tech he controls increases, his headache also increases, but now that limitation was lifted. He also gained technopathic abilities and a high IQ, because of which he graduated much earlier on.
{Kirara's [Quirk: Illusion (Awakened)] initially allowed her to create simple illusionary construct which after some time disappeared. Because of her dark talks and eccentric personality she was sent to 3E. After her quirk awakening, she can make hard construct for quite some time and can even fool digital cameras that's how she helped in hiding the construction of the base from the satellites. Before she had an upperlimit of an specific area which was lifted upon awakening, allowing her to cover an entire mountain.}
"Then what if we need her here, genius?" Muramatsu tried to retort but failed miserably. Because,
"We have to bring her manually through external sources like phones; I already have a backup of her if worse comes to worst."
"Enough of your bickering; we should start the meeting for why we all meet here." said a man who has short and spiky brown hair that is dyed blond around the sides, light-coloured eyes, and has a bulky body.
"Terasaka is right. Isogai please start the meeting." Nagisa's gaze hardened as he spoke, his tone conveying a sense of urgency and gravity to the impending discussion.
Amidst a hushed anticipation, the group gathered around the imposing meeting table, each member exuding a mix of determination and curiosity as they awaited the discussion to unfold. The desk was digital on which files were present.
"Let me get straight to the point. The reason why we are here is because we have a mission of infiltration and assassination of the man in infront of you.

A/N: Hello Everyone!
I am very sorry that this chapter took this much time. Actually, for the past weeks I was havng regular tests for the preparation of Final Exams which is in March and will last till the end of the month, so the next chapters will also get delayed because of it.
Good News I have found designs for suits which will be shown in next chapter.
But I have prepared draft of the next chapter so with some checking and improvement I can upload it in 31st.
