The living room was set up for a cozy evening. The lights were dimmed, the blankets were piled high, and the couch was scattered with pillows. Scully had just finished organizing the snack table, making sure there were enough treats for everyone, and Mulder was in the kitchen, busily preparing popcorn.

The triplets, now around five years old, bounced around excitedly, their faces lit up with anticipation. They had been waiting for this night for weeks—movie night. It was a new tradition Scully and Mulder had decided to start, and the girls were beyond thrilled.

"Mom! Dad! Is the popcorn ready yet?" Joanna asked, her voice full of excitement as she poked her head into the kitchen.

Mulder turned, grinning. "Almost. You can't rush popcorn, Jo. It's a delicate art." He lifted the large bowl he was preparing, full of fluffy kernels. "Perfectly popped, just for you."

The girls crowded into the kitchen, watching with wide eyes as Mulder seasoned the popcorn with just the right amount of butter and salt. "This is going to be the best movie night ever!" Beatrice said, her voice filled with enthusiasm.

Sabrina jumped up and down. "What are we watching first?"

Scully entered the kitchen, smiling softly at the girls' excitement. "We'll let you vote on that. But first, grab your drinks and settle in. We need to get this popcorn to the living room before it gets cold."

With the snacks ready and the movie choices narrowed down to a few favorites, the family made their way to the couch. Mulder carefully carried the large bowl of popcorn to the center of the coffee table. The girls each grabbed a blanket and fluffed it around themselves, snuggling up next to their parents.

"Alright, girls, which movie do you want to start with?" Mulder asked, looking over the three eager faces.

Joanna raised her hand, bouncing slightly. "I vote for the adventure one!"

"I want the one with the talking animals!" Beatrice piped in quickly.

Sabrina, however, looked more thoughtful. She looked at the two options, then at her sisters. "I think we should start with the adventure one," she said with a grin. "It has more action."

Scully raised an eyebrow, looking at Mulder. "Are we sure they're ready for action? We've never watched anything like that before."

"They'll be fine," Mulder said, confidently, pouring the last bit of popcorn into bowls for each of the girls. "Besides, it's about time we teach them about action movies. I'll protect them from the scary stuff."

Scully smirked but couldn't help but laugh. "I'm not so sure about that, but okay." She leaned back into the couch, wrapping an arm around Joanna, who snuggled close. Beatrice and Sabrina immediately followed suit, curling up under blankets.

With the movie selected, Mulder hit play, and the opening credits rolled. The room filled with the familiar sound of action-packed music, and the popcorn began to disappear at an alarming rate. The girls were completely engrossed, their eyes glued to the screen, occasionally looking up at Mulder when something exciting happened.

Scully smiled, feeling content as the girls' laughter and comments filled the room. It was a perfect night—one full of simple pleasures. Mulder looked over at her, his face lighting up with a grin as he caught her watching him.

"Looks like movie night's a success," he whispered.

She nodded, her heart full. "It is. I'm glad we're doing this."

They both turned their attention back to the girls, who were now completely absorbed in the movie, popcorn scattered between them like a trail of happiness.
