Vegeta's words hit Goku like a ki blast to the face. How had he not realized it for so long? It took Vegeta, of all people, to spell it out: as a Saiyan, Goku was hardwired to be drawn to strength. And Chichi? She was like a walking, yelling, saucepan-wielding embodiment of pure intensity.

Her fiery temper wasn't just something Goku tolerated—it was his weakness. When Chichi shouted, it was like a battle cry that echoed in his soul. He could almost hear a ring in his mind every time she launched into one of her legendary tirades. To him, her yelling wasn't just noise; it was like poetry—loud, terrifying poetry that made his heart race and at times, turn him on.

From the moment she unknowingly pulled his tail to the very moment he realized she was of pure heart for being able to ride his Nimbus. To that moment she pushed him so aggressively off the little cloud after he 'pat-pat' checked her. That was a first. Bulma had hit him so many times for doing it but it was different the way Chichi had pushed him with her strength. And take that time she insisted they go on a date, whatever that was. He was told he had to make her do an enjoybale pleasurable thing with him, so naturally, Goku challenged her to a sparring match. Chichi, in her feisty glory, dodged his punches with ease while complaining that "THIS IS NOT A DATE, GOKU!" And yet, he had the time of his life. Dating was fun, indeed. Fast forward to the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament, when she screamed at him in front of his friends. Sure, he was confused at the time, but deep down, something clicked. When he found out she was his opponent, he couldn't have been more thrilled. Fighting her was like discovering a rare and exciting new move—and losing to her might have been just as exhilarating.

Now? Well, let's just say that every time Chichi argued with him, it sent a funny little tingle down his spine. Not that he'd admit it out loud. Kami forbid Gohan and Goten ever found out how much their dad enjoyed and at times turned on being yelled at by their mom. Although he had a little suspicion that his sons, especially Gohan now being married, had already seen right through it. But still, he and Chichi are quite a traditional conservative couple from the mountains. Displays of affection in front of everyone even their sons make them extremely shy. Besides, the Son family had secrets like everybody else, and this was one they both planned to keep buried deep. Just between him and his wife.

Then there was the fear. Oh, the fear. When Chichi got angry, Goku would feel an icy sweat drip down his neck. But mixed with that fear was admiration so intense it was almost embarrassing. The way her eyes blazed when she was mad—like twin suns ready to rip him into pieces—and the sheer authority in her voice left him both terrified and mesmerized.

Her strength wasn't just physical; it was in the way she commanded a room, ran their household, and stood up to him, a Saiyan warrior who'd fought gods and monsters. Chichi's fire was unlike anything Goku had ever faced in battle, and yet, it wasn't something he wanted to conquer. It was something he cherished, something that completed him. Something that kept him grounded.

Goku often marveled at how their bond wasn't just love—it was a clash of strong wills, an unspoken connection that only two warriors could share. Chichi's ferocity didn't just make her a good partner; it made her the perfect one. And no matter how loud the arguments got, no matter how many frying pans she wielded, Goku couldn't help but think: Chichi wasn't just his wife or the mother of his kids—no, she was a one-woman force of nature. She was the only person strong enough to keep up with him, both in spirit and in volume. She gave him something no one else could: a family to protect and a reason to keep getting stronger. She was his home, his constant, his weakness, and, let's be honest, the scariest opponent he'd ever faced. She wasn't just his biggest challenge. She was his greatest adventure, the one journey he could never predict. And he loved every single chaotic moment of it.

"Dad?" Of all the moments Goten could have chosen to interrupt Goku's daydreaming, he chose the moment he knew his dad was thinking about his mom. For little Goten, it was pretty obvious. For the first several days with Goku being alive again, he asked Gohan if mom and dad used to argue even before he was born. Aren't moms and dads not supposed to argue? Gohan smiled. It used to bother him at one point in his childhood, but eventually he understood how much their parents just love each other. Gohan explained it to Goten, and Goten being curious always watched his parents interact. The way daddy would calm mommy down after being yelled at. The way mommy would still care for daddy even if she got so frustrated. The way daddy would steal little kisses from mommy when he thought no one was around. The way mommy would hit daddy's arm playfully telling him he and Gohan were at home but still giggle. Goten found it weird but good weird. He's happy watching them. He eventually believed Gohan's stories from his childhood.

"Yes, son?" Goku asked as he looked at his mini-me.

"Daddy, tell me a story about how you and Mom met. Please." Goten adorably pleaded. Both he and Goku were just spending some time outside the house, relaxing.

"Hm? I thought you already knew. You knew that we got engaged during the tournament."

"Ahuh. The kissy kissy and fighting." Goten giggled.

Goku chuckled at how his little son giggle adorably.

"But I wanna hear it from you, too!" Goten exclaimed. "Mommy gets red and dreamy whenever she told me the story. I want to hear it from you, too, Dad!"

Goku smiled, he could never understand why Chichi got so flustered whenever she talked about their relationship but he found it adorable still. He never gushed but he got shy talking about it, though. For Goku it was something private and special just for the two of them. But he could never deny a good storytelling to his youngest. Just as Goku was about to start, Gohan arrived at their home for a surprise visit.

"Gohan!!!" Goten ran to his big brother excitedly. "Dad was just about to tell a story about him and mom!"

"Really?" Gohan was quite surprised. He knew how conservative and traditional their parents are. He knew now that the times Goku and Chichi asked Gyumao or Piccolo to take him somewhere were what Goten would call "kissy kissy" moments for their parents. And he knew his mom and dad, especially his dad gets really shy talking about it. Gohan looked at his dad, now curious. He rarely heared stories from their dad about his relationship with their mom.

"Well, why not? Goten asked for it." Goku chuckled. "I guess it's usually your mother. Hmm.. so where do I begin? You boys already knew how we met and got engaged."

"Why not how and when you realized you liked Mommy so much!!!" Goten said.

"Oh yeah! He's right dad. Why not tell something what you did. I mean, I had a little hard time with Videl when I started to feel something. Since then I wondered about you with Mom." Gohan now excited too. These are rare moments they were just a normal family.

"Alright then!"

To be continued...

Note: pardon my take on this. just a random thought and wanted to post something about it because I am a GoChi fan. never saw Super, just short vids here and there and I liked the part where Vegeta explained things to Goku. also I was just relying on my memories of the OG DB and DBZ. when i was a kid back in the day, I already loved GoChi the same way I loved the main couples in Sailor Moon and Samurai X. i always believed they were really meant for each other. back then, it was simple and easy to see. and as an asian, growing up with traditional and conservative parents, public displays of affection is just not their thing. that is the same reason it didnt matter to me as a kid back then that Chichi and Goku werent openly affectionate.
