https/watch?v=tGsKzZtRwxw

It is a DARK TIME A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY. a WICKED EMPEROR HAS BROUGHT ABOUT THE END THE DIPLOMATIC REIGN OF THE REPUBLIC, REPLACED BY A TYRANNICAL DICTATORSHIP KNOWN AS THE GALACTIC EMPIRE. WORSE, THE ONE FORCE CAPABLE OF VANQUISHING THIS EVIL, THE Jedi Knights, have been betrayed all but destroyed not just by the people, but and by an evil dark Armored Warrior named Vader. Rumor has it that there are surviving Jedi are scattered throughout the Galaxy, a glimmer of hope for those oppressed that the warriors of light will return to purge the dark side. Vader though has vowed to hunt down and snuff out this rebel spark before it can catch fire. One girl cannot help but wonder if hope or survival matters more in these dark times. Only time will tell…..

In the farthest corner of the Outer Rim, a small blue planet exuded an extreme amount of power in the Force. It was nighttime on this world called Remnant, but even the night skies weren't darker than the forests below, for they housed beasts straight out of the nightmares of hell….

GRIMM

These red-eyed monsters came in all shapes and sizes, from small wolves to giant dragons. But, they all shared two things regardless of any difference of species. One was a taste for human flesh and blood. It was the sole reason for their existence, acting as a constant bane in the existence of any who dared hoped to live a long peaceful life of joy. Wherever they went, they seemed to be drawn to people's powerful emotions and hope, as if they smelled blood in the water like a pack of sharks. But deep within one forest, commonly referred as the den of darkness, lied a red robed woman walking seemingly aimlessly through what was known as one of the most Grimm plagued areas on the planet, she could just feel the second reason that would make her blood almost freeze.

"The dark side." She whispered to herself, almost feeling the chill down her spine a she did so, her breath actually forming a visible fog. This girl could feel the evil within these beasts that she could hear howling for her blood. It was thought these bloodless beasts of darkness had no force, or Aura as the people of this planet called the ancient power, but she could feel otherwise. These demons exuded the dark side of the force even if they could not touch it. It was basically ingrained in every cell in their body. For someone like this girl who sensed every last bit of it as she breathed, no light, whether from the sun or the shattered moon above her tonight could alleviate the nauseating she was experiencing right now from their darkness…or rather the darkness within her rising up as she ran in fright, a pack of Grimm wolves soon howling as they chased her in response.

"No…..NO!" She screamed as she clasped her forehead, it aching as her eyes twitched, one silver one almost turning a shade of red and yellow like the beasts she saw trailing her. But they did not frighten her as much as the painful memories surging through her mind right now as they felt it once more from them, the dark side. She then saw a dark black mask flash before her mind, her eyes darting open in fright.

"NO! Remember your training Rose! Trust in the force, do not give into the fear." She scolded herself.

She then drew upon said force and propelled herself into the tree lines, hoping to distance herself further from the wolves. But no matter how far she got from them, she could still feel her heart pounding as she still felt, even smelled that same dread their dark aura they reeked all around her in this forest. She looked out in the distance, the white temple, the one source of safety for her, many miles ahead seemed like an eternity away the more she hoped for it.

The girl shook her head, trying not to lose her will. She took a deep breath as she remembered her masters training.

"I…I am one with force and the force is with me…..I am one-" She began repeating her mantra, hoping to calm herself and focus on a portion of the force not drenched by the Grimm's darkside.

"*Sigh* I am one with the force and the force is with-" then she let out a frighten squeak as her mantra was interrupted by a call in the distance.

*SCREECH*

She then heard the frightened cries of death from what sounded like a teenage boy far away. Her heart felt heavy for a moment before she shook her head, remembering master Yoda's lesson not to form attachments. He passed onto the force, now she had to focus on it. "I-I am one….one with the for-" But the more she tried to focus, the more she could feel it, the Grimm getting closer, the evil she ran from finding her.

We see the girl giving off cold sweats as she sees the slanted yellow eyes of a cyborg monster cackling at her with four laser swords drawn from spider like arms, soon coughing as he fought a hack. He is then repelled by a robbed man with a double bladed lightsaber, but with a curved hilt clashing with his blades.

"Stay back!" He hollered to her.

Then once more, as her attempt to calm was proven futile, worse memories resurfaced despite her desperate attempts to drown them.

"RUBY RUN!"

"MASTER!" She screamed as she heard a lightsaber and scream behind her as she ran into his ship.

We then see a smaller version of the girl, probably no more than 6 or 7 years old, crying and screaming as she heard blaster bolts firing off around her within a small room with a control panel, wires exuding sparks as she cowered in a large chair.

"BLAST HER!" She heard a clone soldier yell.

The girl gulped before she took a deep breath after recalling that voice. It was once something she felt gave her a sense of peace and security. All of her scars of war and training for it ceased burning whenever she heard them. They belonged to soldiers who were born to defend and serve justice, much like she was in her opinion.

"We both were basically conscripted as baby's." She couldn't help but snort. She was taken to the temple much like the one she saw ahead of her as an infant, she was raised to be attuned to the force since childhood. She felt nothing but respect for those fighting for something noble….at least that's how she used to feel. Then she grew somber, tears stinging her eyes as more painful memories returned. So many bodies near her, filled with blaster bolts and cuts. She experienced them many times, the horrible dread of loss of life, the force being cut from those around her as she watched the clone soldiers die in battle before her, only the night…..that horrible night from hell was different, they were slain not by droids, but by her fellow Jedi as the temple, her home caught flames, destroyed by the very soldiers she fought beside and trusted with her life.

"Get her outta here!"

"Targets spotted!"

"Protect the younglings – GAH!"

She could still hear the survivors, her brethren's dying words along with a laser sword, not by General Grievous. She actually wished her master hadn't repelled him, as the cyborg and these Grimm hunting her seemed like mosquitos compared to the dark monster whose soul she sensed feel cold, bitter, and filled with hatred. If she could see past the black mask he wore, she could swear he was staring daggers into hers.

"KID! RUN!" She heard her master scream at her as the sound of lightsabers slicing skin echoed through her head. Then as her eyes opened as she gasped in terror from that memory, she heard something more deafening, the monsters screech from before, only now much louder as she felt the force of a cargo ship smash into her stomach as something sharp did. Soon her terrified eyes locked onto the source, a pair of demonic red and yellow eyes meeting her as they flew at top speed into the sky.

She was snatched by a Nevermore, a black bird that was one of the largest of Grimm. She could feel it, not just from the blood oozing from its beak that wasn't hers, this was the dark being that slaughtered that boy earlier. Now it wanted her blood too.

"L-Let me….go!" She grunted in pain as it clamped its beak down harder on her stomach, a red flash shining from her body as she miraculously did not get grinded into chum for this demon. The pain made her remember.

Red lights flashed in the cockpit of a ship as blaster bolts rained down upon the girl, guarded only by a thick chair receiving the brunt of those blasts.

"Blast her!" A clone commando, wearing a shoulder guard as blue as the stripes on his armor.

"Yes sir!" The clones near him yelled as they opened fired with DC-15 rifles, but there cry's and gunfire were drowned out by the crying child's screams of terror.

"Why are you doing this to me!?" She screamed, her face narrowly avoiding a laser bolt as she snuck a peek at them before cowering behind the seat. "we fought side by side, we were heroes for the republic! Why!?" she implored to them, hoping her crying would stop them more than her force pushes had.

"Good soldiers follow orders. Blast her!" The commander replied angrily before giving out his order.

The child almost forgot to breath as she heard those words, it was a reminder to her right now, she was truly alone. She could only feel her soul chill as she felt theirs through the force, a whispy cloud of hate and pride mixed together aimed at her, no care in the world for anything else.

She didn't even know how it happened next. One minute they were raining fire upon her, the next thing she knew all of them were pressed against the walls of the control room, unable to move as they felt the weight of a ton of gravity press upon them like the Nevermore was doing to her now. Somehow she had activated the hyper drive despite not putting in precise coordinates and blasted them off into space. It was a sheer lucky miracle they did not crash into orbiting ships from the landing zone they took off from. It was even luckier for her as she remembered what happened after. The moment they got out of hyperspace they plopped onto the control room floors.

Rose gasped for air as she felt herself freed, only to hitch when she heard the sound of rifles cocking. Looking up she saw the same helmets of half a dozen clones aiming for her.

"Padawan Ruby Rose, you've been marked for termination under order 66! Under this directive any all jedi must be terminated for treason against the- WHOAH!" But the clone commando did not even get to finish the command.

Everything had went black for her then as she felt her memories going hazy from that time. All she remembered was feeling cold and scared, then her body being whipped around like she was hit by a tornado. Then Ruby found herself awakening, her whole body sore as the ship had no lights on. The only faint traces of which she could see barely with were the sparks giving off from exposed wires.

"Where's that Lightsaber?" She grumbled as she looked around for it, not feeling it on her belt like always.

Soon after aimlessly crawling through the darkness, she felt the hilt. It was bent, but she still felt her heart rate slow as she caught a break. Now she could see what was going on, and defend herself hopefully against the clones if they were still alive. But any relief she would feel would soon wash away as she pressed the button and ignited the flickering red blade. Each of the flicks of light she could see the bloodied and lifeless face of a clone staring right at her, impaled by a large piece of shrapnel.

Ruby screamed in terror as she recoiled from the horrific sight. As her blade kept flickering or giving off a static shine, she looked around, her stomach churning as she saw the charred remains of the other clones around her. One had his head decapitated by shrapnel, the other impaled by it, some were just smoking nearby a counsel lightly on fire.

Ruby began to hyperventilate as she took in once more the smell of blood and sight of death. She had seen it many times on the battlefield to her masters concern, but after all the betrayal and deaths she sensed through the force today, she just couldn't handle much more.

She let out a eep as she felt her skin grow pale from a sever chill. She sensed through the force something dark approaching the ship, coming quickly.

"I-Is it him!?" She thought with a grimace before giving a rasp breath and trying her best to think quickly. "No, he couldn't be, there's too many for that and they feel weaker. Who…what are they?!" She thought as her breathing grew more frantic.

Soon, from the ruined door to the control room, she saw dark jagged claws, ferocious saber teeth stained red like her robes with blood, and those same evil yellow and red eyes she felt baring down upon her from….him.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She screamed in terror, but as she tried to close her eyes, desperate for another nightmare to go away and focus on something else, she felt her head ache severely as her eyes burned at the same time. Her eyelids couldn't shut as she saw their demonic faces snarling at her before she swore she saw through a white flash their black skulls, then….pure ash.

When she awoke, she found herself in the arms of a large tall man wearing black glasses. Quickly she jostled out of his arms in fright, worried he might be a bounty hunter out for her, and collapsed painfully on the floor before him. As she opened her eyes, she soon got a closer look at the man. His age and refined suit meant there was no way he was a hunter. Rather he had hair as grey as master Yoda, but carried himself in a posture of refinedness and wisdom like master Kenobi did. She didn't know why, perhaps exhaustion, but she felt at ease around this man whom she sensed a soothing power of force within. It was a feeling strengthened as he looked down upon her, smiling warmly.

"Interesting child." He said curiously as he bent down, his eyes wincing as he locked them with hers to her discontent.

"Um….what is?" She forced herself to say, wincing as a massive migraine punished her for doing so.

"Well for starters, you destroyed a whole horde of Grimm." He said, chuckling in amusement.

"G-Grimm? Were they the bad, dark m-monsters?" She asked confused and frightened.

"Indeed" he nodded. "And do you know how you killed them?"

"Um, my lightsaber? *GASP*" She began to say before gasping, placing her hand over her mouth, or at least one, the other went to her aching head.

"Oh, this thing?" He said as he showed off her blade hanging off a clip on his belt. "I thought this weapon looked oddly familiar."

"STUPID! STUPID! HE CAN'T KNOW YOU'RE A JEDI! HE MIGHT HUNT YOU!" She thought in fright.

"I assure you sweetie I won't hunt you." He said bewildered at the notion, his tone a bit hurt, if somehow understanding.

"H-How did you read my mind? Can you use the force?" She thought, unable to speak through the pain.

"Hm? Interesting, I haven't heard that since….is that what you call aura? I haven't met someone who called it that in years." He said.

She looked on bewildered by the man's perceived ignorance. She couldn't understand what this man was saying. Everyone knew about the jedi order, about their lightsabers and the Force. It was common knowledge even in the outer rim. How far out did the hyperdrive take her? More than that, she was curious about one more thing.

"What's aura?"

He chuckled as he placed a hand over her head, and she felt her headache begin to vanish. It felt like force healing except, she felt something. She felt it for the first time today, a warm touch of the force on her soul, only she felt her body begin to explode it outwardly. Soon her body began to give off a small red glow as the energy retracted within her.

"W-WHAT DID YOU DO!?" She asked amazed.

"I unlocked your aura, or force as you called it. It's what we use here in Remnant child. It's what powers our semblances." He explained.

Now Ruby was really looking confused,

"What's a semblance?" She asked.

"And you thought I should have some common knowledge about your kind?" He asked teasingly, making her blush.

"Everyone knows a semblance is a power born from one's aura being unlocked and focused into the core of the body. It gives us a unique power." He explained.

"Hmmm much like a force power…..is that how I killed those monsters?" She asked.

"No, those demons were destroyed by something much stronger within you than aura or this force your speak of."

"What?"

"Your silver eyes." He said as he pointed to them.

"W-What about my eyes?" She asked curiously if annoyed. Every one in the order had at one point made a note to look at her eyes, some mentioning how unique they were. She herself never saw another one like her.

"Well…..that's a long story. Lets just say for now you belong to an order of warriors with powers legend says could kill the dark monsters of this realm known as Grimm, like those that attacked you. I'd love to tell you more but my own knowledge is….mild to say the least. I want to ask you something though um…."

"Ruby…Ruby Rose." She answered, realizing they never exchanged names.

"Well Miss Rose, my name is Ozpin. It's nice to meet you but let me ask you a few things. One, where do you come from?" He asked, his tone curious if worried.

Ruby felt no wicked intention from this man who oozed the force to her. Then again, the whole planet was practically suffocating with it. He could be hiding something from her, she wasn't sure if she should reveal herself or her home. He might reach out to the empire.

Seeing her fear and hesitation the man decided to move on.

"Okay….second, are these your family? Is they the only ones with you?" He asked concerned, noticing with a wince the dead men around him, though fought his curiousness at their similar faces. He just brushed them off as quintuplets to avoid being rude.

"No. I have no family." Ruby spat out painfully. "I have no one."

Ozpin frowned as he saw the pained look of her, actually sensing her dread and mourning. He could only imagine the scars she bore in her heart. His pity for her far outweighed his curiosity about her origins or this space ships origins. He still though had to ask her one thing more.

"Then lastly….do you know what hunters are?" He asked, almost regretting it as he saw her face pale and her eyes widen in fear.

"Y-You're a bounty hunter aren't you!" She yelled as she reached out with her hand, to his surprise the blade flying from his belt to her hand.

She grunted as she continuously pressed the button near the hilt, desperately trying to ignite the static-like blade. "Your not gonna take me!"

Ozpin, despite not sensing any real threat, widened his eyes and held up his hands in surrender. "Easy child! I am not a bounty hunter." He insisted, but she spat at him.

"YOU JUST SAID YOU'RE A HUNTER!" She screamed, waiving the blade half-hazardly at him whenever it shined through.

"Hunters are not bounty hunters, I am a huntsmen dedicate to slaying and hunting Grimm, those monsters who threaten all of us. It's our sacred duty." Ozpin clarified.

Ruby's eyes widened as she heard such familiar words.

"It's our duty as jedi isn't it? To protect and serve?" She remembered asking her master. Ruby soon lowered her blade, but grinded her teeth in frustration, something Ozpin could almost feel was directed inward than at him.

"Sorry sir." She meekly said, not raising her head.

"Considering the this horrific site, I don't blame you. I must say though, what kind of craft is this? I have never seen a cruiser modeled like this even in Atlas." He asked amazed.

"Atlas?" Ruby asked him confused.

"One of the four kingdoms, strange….most people know this. Where did you grow up?" Ozpin asked curiously.

Ruby was about to open her mouth to answer, but the mere thought of speaking the name of her planet Coruscant, the more the memories stabbed her mind. She tearfully shook her head, unwilling to mention it. She couldn't risk him calling it, exposing her to the Empire.

Ozpin sighed sadly as he saw her demeanor shrink. He could feel the fear and pain radiating from her. He couldn't just leave her here in that state, she was bound to draw more Grimm with her negativity. Not to mention her valuable eyes, he just couldn't let that potential be wasted. Then his eyes widened as a thought got into his head.

"Say child." Ozpin asked, she barely lifted her head to meet his gaze.

"You have an interesting weapon there, have you considered a career as a huntress?" He asked.

Since then, the girl trained in a new way of life, under a new master. It was quite the challenge, learning to apply the force inward as a shield, let alone remembering to call it Aura instead. It wasn't just the term though, she struggled to adapt to this alien world she found herself in. It wasn't just the fact she didn't have her semblance like them, but she didn't know whom she could trust, especially since the people of this planet seemed primitive by her standards, at least in technology. She truly felt alien, she couldn't believe despite their advances in Kyber Crystals they called Dust allowing cruisers and their almost magic-like usage of the force they called semblances, they couldn't even master space travel or make their crystals last more than a single use. How could she trust anyone, even her saver Ozpin, fully with her past and identity. Ever since the clones and the Republics betrayal, she just couldn't abandon the fear clutching her heart day and night. It wasn't helped she could feel is all around her, the cold, the bloodlust, the fear both Grimm and Remnants citizens exuded daily. It was practically nauseating.

Then as Ruby opened her eyes in terror, once more coming face to face with that sickening nightmare before her in the jaws of the Nevermore, she regurgitated some bloody vomit into its glowing eye she saw, making it shake her more violently. She could barely breath as the force made her lungs burn. She couldn't even focus through the pain to use her silver eyes. Her lightsaber was also stuck in the jaws, she couldn't pry it out the stab the monster. She was running out of options.

"Come on Ruby! Trust the force, you can't let this demon eat you! Ozpin's waiting! You gotta to get back to Oz and punch his face out for demanding you take his test! Remember your training to get there! Remember-"

Then she snapped out of her thoughts as the constant pain struck a realization into her. She hated to remember. It was a disease plaguing her, day in and day out her training reminded her of the days with her first master lost forever, memories of shooting a gun brought her body to chills as her ears almost bled hearing the blaster bolts of her former troops. But what truly sickened and enraged her, was remembering to "trust the force".

"What the fuck did this motto bring me! I always trust and look what happened! I get nowhere! Now I'm gonna be demon chow because I trusted that bastard Ozpin to prepare me for this hell hole!" She thought with a fury as she clasped the edge of the beak that continued to clamp down painfully. As her fingers began to redden for soreness, Ruby felt her vision growing hazy. She was tempted to let her frustration and pain take over, to let go of this beast and lower her aura and end this once and for all. After all, she could then finally be with-

"SQUIRT!"

She gasped as she heard a familiar voice. "Master!" She looked around, seeing nothing past the haze and Nevermore, but she kept hearing his voice.

"W-Where are you!" She screamed, desperate to see him again.

"Seriously kiddo, you bright eyes but sure are blind if you can't see the bigger picture. Just like always." Her master's voice echoed.

Ruby whimpered as she felt a surge of guilt stab into her. "I….I know. I know I never knew anything! I just did what I was told, believed everything I was told! I never saw anything real! I should have seen what happened coming!" She cried in despair. Her body was flickering her red aura as they grew to dangerous levels.

"If I had, you wouldn't have-" She whimpered, then practically felt her cheek sting as the spirit of her master slapped her, her eyes widening in shock.

"You didn't kill me Ruby. And I didn't go out just so you could become demon chow forgetting what I taught you." He scolded her.

"Wha-what did you teach me?" She whispered.

"I know it hurts to remember, but remember THIS squirt, trust the force, but trust your gut more. Trust yourself. That's the only thing you can really rely on when alone." He reminded her.

"How can I trust myself, when all I ever did was mess up?" She argued. tearfully

"Fuck! By the force your stubborn. Why can't you apply that in battle?"

"B-But-"

"Quit giving me heart attacks kiddo. Just open your eyes for once. See the bigger picture." He demanded before he faded. Ruby reached out to the wisp as it vanished, tearfully begging him to stay.

"Master." She whispered, then she shook her head as she felt the Nevermore shake her more. The pain was infuriating as it was constant, but nothing compared to her heartache at the thought of letting him down again. "ALRIGHT! If that's what you want!" She screamed as she began to focus her force power outward, trying desperately to pry the birds jaws off her.

"Come on….get off me!" She grunted angrily.

Soon her silver eyes began to glow red like the rest of her body as rage and pain surged through her, as did a static charge.

The Nevermore felt her body begin to grow in power as it began to pry its jaws open slightly. The beast wasn't about to lose its meal. It applied more pressure to its jaws. Suddenly though, as it felt them suddenly close, it did not feel on its tongue the blood and skin of the girl anymore. It felt a softer texture as it went numb.

It soon felt a clump in its throat. Desperately it began to hack up a bunch of rose petals, its choking distress leaving it blind to the girl as she climbed up onto the back of its neck, equally surprised.

"WHAT THE!? How did I just?….that wasn't force speed? When could I-" She thought bewildered. Then her breath hitched as she realized it.

"My semblance….I did it." She whispered. She finally found her unique power beyond her eyes. Every beatdown in training, every Beowulf pack Ozpin threw her into to unlock them, it was all finally over. She got her power. She didn't feel helpless anymore.

"Knew you could do it squirt." She could almost feel she could hear his praise in her ear. She actually began to hope.

As if responding to her joy, she felt her blade pat her waist. Looking down, Ruby saw more than the hacking Nevermore, she saw her lightsaber, and elongated scabbard with a curved edge making it look more like a scythe than a sword. It was unconventional, but it was her weapon or as Master Kenobi lectured to them many times in training, her life.

Her eyes narrowed as she clasped her free weapon in her hand, feeling the fiery urge within it radiating with her. It wanted blood, to end this misery at last plaguing her. Revenge she remembered was preached against many times by her fellow Jedi, but as she also remembered her masters words about guts, hers was screaming this.

"Screw the rules. And screw you bird." She spat as she pressed the button on her hilt, the curved edge igniting a crescent moon-like red laser blade on it, the pick on the end of the sword used for clipping onto her waist glowing as another one, albeit smaller and facing left than right like the other. With a furious cry, Ruby stabbed the twin bladed lightsaber into the neck of the beast, it bellowing in pain as a result.

"Payback time Grimm." She whispered as she then pressed another button below the ignition. From the middle of the sword staff, a knuckle-brass appliance formed she clasped as one small shoto-like stick appeared on each end connected to the laser swords that soon began to spin wildly in a circle at fast speeds, one of the many features she designed for it. It wasn't traditional by jedi of old standards, but Master Branwen taught her to value survival over tradition, and she was going to survive, which was more than she could say for this demon as she ignited her semblance, speeding in a circle around the squawking beasts neck as it gave off a death cry when she kicked off its back, taking its head with her as the rest of the body faded into ashes, soon followed behind her as huffed and threw the head as she deactivated her spinning lightsaber.

"Thank you master." She closed her eyes and thought gratefully as the pain finally lifted from her.

"Eyes open kiddo!" She heard him remind her.

She instantly opened her eyes as she felt the wind blasting her face. "Oh shit!" She cursed as she remembered. She was falling through the air. At the height this Grimm carried her no way her aura would survive the fall. She'd be splattered on the ground in the forest. That is, if she didn't remember she had a semblance now. She smirked as she remembered it without pain for the first time tonight, feeling her heartbeat pound rapidly as she ignited it, speeding off at high speeds for the nearest tree. She felt a rush as she grinned madly seeing everything go by like hyperspace. But her cocky grin vanished as she felt the force of a cargo ship smack her chest, knocking the wind out of her.

"Fuck! Too quick…..Overshot!" She painfully thought as she wheezed and collapsed on the ground, her red aura scattering to dust in the wind as it broke. At least the tree and her force powers blocked any lasting damage. She survived at least.

She took a moment to catch her breath as she sat there, her legs burning like her heart as she resisted the urge to keep going for the temple. The grimm she sensed were miles back, almost snorting at the thought of thanking the Nevermore for that. She could afford to rest a bit and use the force to heal her chest since she sensed nothing nearby.

Suddenly her eyes widened as she heard rustling in the bushes nearby.

"What!? Why can't I sense-" After all the craziness of tonight, Ruby didn't even bother pondering this improbability. Her fear and instincts screamed at her to ignore it, and the pain her body stabbed into her as she quickly rose, igniting one blade on her lightsaber towards the bush.

"Don't shoot!" She heard a plea, followed by human hands that shot out of the now red glowing bush desperately.

Ruby's eyes widened as she came face to face with yellow eyes once more tonight, but not from a Grimm. They came from something even more mysterious and somehow alluring.

"It's you?" Ruby said bewildered.
