Izuku thought he would die this way. Never be a hero and always do stupid and careless things. Unable to talk to Toji, they fought over something that seemed small to him now.

Then, suddenly hearing a blood-curdling scream, his eyes snapped open with confusion as he saw Shigaraki holding what was left of his hand? he looked beside him as his face paled. It was the villain's hand right next to him.

"You fucker! How dare you! I-I'll KILL. YOU." he shrikes out in agony and furry.

A dry laugh escapes from the other person next to him. "Sure. Go ahead man-baby, see if you can. I'll leave you without both hands, then let's see how you'll kill me."

Izuku snaps his head. His eyes widened when he realized who it was. How can he not? Toji is Izuku's brother. His lip twitched as his eyes got watery when he heard his brother's voice. He was so glad to see him again, while yes. Curious as to why or how he ended up here. These were the least of his concerns right now.

Izuku saw the Nomu moving as he screamed out in warning. "Watch out!"

A cloud of dust appeared as the Nomu slammed Toji to the ground before what seemed like he pummeled him into the ground while Shigaraki let out triumphant cackles. "You idiot! Our Nomu is the greatest weapon of them all! To kill All Might!"

The Nomu was launched into the air, creating a swooshing sound as the dust dispersed. Toji whirled around his shackled sword with dexterity. "To murder All Might, hmm? Then, let's see. Then, if he is capable of managing my heavenly Restriction."

As the Toji flung his sword, it wrapped around Nomu and fell back to the ground. With the Nomu following closely behind, Toji spun in circles, his arms' veins bulging out from the ease with which he controlled the chain. He whipped down the chain, sending the Nomu crashing to the ground with a loud, satisfying crunch. Toji moved fast, exposing impact fractures as he stabbed the Nomu several times.

With each stab, blood spurted everywhere because the cursed spirit took on a humanoid appearance. He did, after all, always aim for the artery. The Nomu made a loud squishing sound, then screamed in animalistic pain, and there was silence.

"You abomination!" Shiaraki cried out and then saw his brother, covered in blood, with the large, lifeless body sprawled out on the ground and the Nomus brain in his hand.

"What? He yelled, "I was testing out how strong he is, and it's pathetically weak!" as he threw the now-dead Nomu's brain at Shigaraki. he screamed in fear as he gave the order to retreat.

The Villians vanished just as swiftly as they had appeared. Izuku gave his brother a long look while he sobbed and blubbered out rambling excuses.

There was a loud bang of bullets, seemingly as Toji was about to respond. Toji ducked fast to keep out of the way of any bullets. Izuku was about to object when he heard the greatest hero exclaim, "I AM HERE."

This appears to have set off something in Toji, as he hurriedly fled the USJ. A few heroes, including Cementos and Snipe, attempted to stop or apprehend them, but every effort was ineffective since Toji managed to get away.

Izuku had a blank expression as his mother fretted over him.

"Oh my god! Villians attacking! Oh my oh my, I'm glad you are okay my dear but oh! This isn't helping my worries especially when your brother has been missing for almost an entire four days! What is that young man even doing! he always tells me if he's coming to the house or of sorts. But never this long!"

She walked around the living room of the apartment house. Inko answered the house phone with anger and worry. She stayed quiet for ten minutes. She thanked the person before closing the call. She felt angry and spoke with a gentle smile. "Your brother got mugged, so we need to go to the hospital."

Izuku's smile wavered as he hoped his brother had come up with a good excuse. If not... Let's hope he survives her wrath.

His mother gave Toji a tongue lashing when they arrived at the hospital. Scolding him for not telling them where he was and for being careless and selfish. Her words of anger and concern turned into sobs as she hugged Toj. She blubbered out how glad she was to know he was okay now and begged him to never do this again.

Despite Toji's big act and facade of being tough, wavered at the heartfelt sobs of his mother. As he returned the hug, a small guilty smile crept onto his lips as he apologized to her.

"I'm sorry, I have an issue with keeping my promises, don't I? I shouldn't have made you and Izuku worry. I'm sorry Mom."

Inko soon left as the doctor asked her to fill out some paperwork, leaving the two brothers alone. There was a tense and awkward atmosphere around the two of them, both avoiding eye contact unsure if one of them wanted to talk to the other.

Izuku decided to break the ice. "You're lucky they didn't find you out, but what were you doing there?"

Toji sighed as he leaned back in the hospital bed. "My info broker kept telling me to go as a client was looking for recruits. Initially, I didn't want to go. But, he kept annoying me to high hell until I agreed. Then, when I found out what the plan was. I couldn't stand by and let them hurt you, you're my little brother and I'd never forgive myself if anyone hurt you."

Izuki started to laugh at the heartfelt and unusual words from his aloof and distant brother. "Whats's up with you? Did you die or something and get reborn? This is so out of place of you Toji."

"I did."

"Come on stop playing around."

"I really did, and I'm in my second life. Why do you think i know about curses so much?"

"Huh? Wait, are you like for real?"

"I am."

"... What the fuck.

HEYO so like I'm sorry for the long wait! So I sorta got hit with the ao3 writers curse... kinda crazy mainly competing with depression when my ex-partner passed away. And then life just being a shit storm afterward, my depression almost made me end up in a bad relationship with the person I was seeing as a potential partner was suicidal and it made me afraid to leave them. BUT wooooooo yeah kinda crazy. But I'm at a good point in my life now, with an amazing and kind partner/friend. And I am an uncle! kinda wacky the last two years. But two chapters! this one is short I won't lie. but I'm glad how it ended. I won't lie the pacing will be bad mostly since I don't know how to write good fight scenes. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy it, and I'll see if I can write more often, can't guarantee that it will be frequent since I'm starting a new job soon.
