Chapter 4:

Ben was using a flashlight to look for batteries. He stops when he looks at the machine and gets suspicious. He then thinks about the monsters and the founder and, while he's normally not book smart, he figured it all out. "He was never going to let us go," says Ben.

"Oh look, it's Sherlock Holmes," says Purple.

"Why don't you come out and say that to my face," asks Ben.

"Better idea, come to the vent," says Purple, "I don't bite!"

"That's what Patty Berkenfeld said," says Ben, "and I'm not falling for that one again!" He tries to run away, but he slips on the leak, allowing Purple to grab him, but Ben turns to Heatblast, burning Purple's arms.

"OW," says Purple.

Ben then leaves.

...

"Wait, you think this machine could do what," asks Gwen.

"Turn other people into those rainbow freaks," says Ben, "think about it! What else would a guy with monsters make his machine for?"

"I think Ben's on to something," says Max.

"So, you figured out my secret," says Red.

"I got you figured out, Oswald D. Davis," says Ben.

"The founder of the Rainbow Friends," asks Max, "of course!"

"Yes, my Rainbow Friends didn't start out as humans, they were just genetic experiments I made to entertain children, but when parents found out, they were seen as freaks... probably didn't help that the Rainbow Friends actually attacked their children, now that I think about it, but still, with my newest invention, everyone in the world will become a friend!"

"We're not going to let that happen," says Gwen.

"A pity, I was going to throw you a goodbye party, but looks like we'll just have to get rid of you," says Red, "Pink?"

Then Pink enters.
