Another story! I can't help it. I have so many ideas and I need to start them before I forget them T-T. Please enjoy ;P

Chapter 1: Stepping into a New World

My name is Percy Jackson, I'm 6 years old and I just got kicked out of another boarding school for something I didn't do. I mean how can you blame me for exploding a part of the classrooms if I was just standing in it. It's like trouble just follows me everywhere I go. I was currently sitting outside the principal's office while my mom was trying to change his mind about expelling me.

I wish that just for one year I can go without getting kicked out of school, because everytime I do I have to look at the worried face of my mom and explain to her that I'm innocent. For some reason she always believes me, and I love her all the more for it. Just then she came out of the room and she looked mad, it wasn't often that she got mad but when she did it was always because something bad happened.

"Come on Percy, let's go home. Okay." She said, her eyes softening when they landed on me. I just nodded my head, jumped to my feat and took her outstretched hand in mine before she led me to the car and we started the drive home.

"Sorry mom." I said, not being able to look her in the eyes when we where in the car. I hated disappointing her, she works her butt off day in and day out just to take care of me and that abusive good for nothing Walrus, Smelly Gabe. I almost did everything right. I got all my grades up to a B, except English which I only got up to C- because of my dyslexia. But with my ADHD that was really hard to do but I did it to show her I'm trying which I really was.

"No, no baby. Don't be sorry, I know it wasn't you okay. It was probably that Leo Valdez kid you where told me about, the kid that loves making stuff. Just don't blame yourself sweetheart. We'll figure something out. Maybe I can try convincing Gabe to let you start attending public school so you can live with us again." She reassured me, not taking her eyes off the road, but placed her hand on my head and ruffled my hear.

"Really!" I asked turning to face her, I could feel the wide smile on my face. it's been so long since if been able to see my mom because Gabe keeps forcing me to go to boarding schools just so that I can stay out of the house.

My mom just chuckled and gave me a quick wink before turning her attention back to the road. The rest of the way home was in a comfortable as I just enjoyed watching all the suites we passed. I also saw some of the weird creatures while we drove. My guidance counselor says that it's just figments of my imagination caused by my ADHD, but I know what I saw. And whenever I told my mom about it she just turned pale and quickly reassured me that it was nothing but complimented me on my good imagination. I knew she was lying, people won't get scared about something they claim to just be part of you imagination, but I knew she had a good reason to hide it from me. I just wosh she would tell me the truth.

When we finally arrived at the worn down apartment building we lived in, I couldn't help but frown. It was old and it ws in the sketchy part of New York. My Mom didn't deserve to live like this. She deserves a palace, no a whole kingdom. But she says it's the best we can afford while she has pay for

my school fees and her own Night Time Writing classes. She always wanted to become a novelist, but when her uncle, who was taking care of her after her parents died, died, she was left alone to get a job and care for herself at the age of 17. She was left with no family, no money and no diploma. Then she met my dad when she was 21, she says he was the best thing to ever happen to her until she had me of course. Before I was even born my dad disappeared however, he went on a boat and disappeared never to be seen again. She says he was a rich business man and was away on a business trip. I'm guessing there was a storm and he drowned or something. I sometimes wish I could have met him, at least once. But I knew it was wishful thinking.

"Home sweet home." I said sarcastically while getting out of the car and walking into the building with my mom then she started racing me up the stairs. I of course won because I'm awesome and then we headed into the apartment. I felt my smile leave my face as I saw the garbage and beer bottles littering the floor. 'Gabe.' I thought, gritting my teeth. I know I wouldn't be able to do much, I was six after all but I could slip some laxatives into his beer. I smirked at that idea.

"How about you go put your stuff in your room then come to the kitchen. I have a surprise for you." Mom said, gently pushing my back, making me stumble towards my room while she walked off towards the kitchen.

Opening my bedroom door I couldn't help but sigh. It was a mess, as usual when he returned home. It was because Gabe used it as his 'Study Room', I wanted to scoff at that. Never in any world would Gabe ever be caught dead studying it might as well have been against the laws of nature . Shrugging my duffle of my shoulder and scanned my room, it's going to need a serious deepclean if I want to even think about sleeping in here.

Turning on my heel, I headed towards the kitchen where my mom was busy taking a tray out of the hot oven and the smell of choc chip cookies filled the apartment. Oh how I have dearly missed you my heavenly blue choc chips. I practically flew over the kitchen counter trying to reach my precious, before I could snatch one of the try though, my mom pulled it out of the way and slapped my hand with a small laugh.

"Just wait a few minutes Percy, they're still hot." She scolded. I just slumped down in a chair and drowned out my sorrows with a glass of cold refreshing milk Mom had placed infront of me.

"Yes mom." I sniffled, holding back my smile. I missed joking with my mom like this, it was nice and it always.

Me and mom just talked for the rest of the day, I told her about how well I managed to do in school this year and about all the clubs I tried joining, both the ones I failed at and the ones I successfully joined. I told her how I was the best swimmer in the swim club and could do laps faster than kids twice my age and also how I was the fastest on the track team or how I could throw a javelin further than anybody else in the school. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I'm basically the best at anything physical related. At least it equaled out my inability of not being able to study like the other students. 'Life really is good.' I thought

Just then the front door slammed open and a drunken Gabe walked into the room.

"Sally! Dinner better be ready!" He shouted and I saw my mother flinch. And I narrowed my eyes.

'He wouldn't dare, would he.' I asked myself. I had a sudden sinking feeling in my stomach. Turning to face my mother with wide rage filled eyes.

"Percy-" Was all she managed before Gabe stormed into the room and glared at her.

"Answer me when I talk to you wo-" He started but was also cut off by a sudden creaking sound from the kitchen faucet before it exploded right off the sink and launched itself right between the tuskless walrus' eyes, either knocking him out cold or killing him. He hoped it was the first, even if Gabe was walking trash.

But that thought was pushed to the back of my mind as I realized just why the pipes suddenly acted up. It was because I wanted it to. When Gabe had walked into the kitchen, I felt anger rush over me and I felt a pull behind me, like it was asking me to release it and I pulled on it, I pulled so hard that I started feeling dizzy and then suddenly I felt power rush over me as the water pressure finally became too much for the faucet to handle and finally burst.

Turning around to look at Mom again I saw her looking at me again with surprise and resignation. She quickly left the room and disappeared into bedroom for a few minutes before coming out with a piece of paper. She gently took my hand in hers and lead me out of the building towards the car.

"Mom, what's going on?" I asked, scared that she was going to abandon me.

"I'll explain everything on the way there Percy, but we have to hurry. they're going to sense your aura know that you know about you power." Mom explained and I was even more confused now.

"What do you mean Mom?" I asked again trying to get an answer out of her.

"Look Percy, all I can say know is that you just stepped into a whole new world that you're not ready for. And the more you know the more danger you'll be in." She explained and that satisfied me for now. I guessed that by 'they' she means the monster's she's tried to deny for so long.

"Where are we going?" I asked once we were finally on the road. Turning to face my Mom and I saw the tears in her eyes. I gently put my arm on her arm and smiled at her. She quickly wiped her tears and gave me a watery smile.

"We're going to the only place you'll be safe honey. We're going to Camp Half-Blood."
