Chapter 6: Living arrangements
As enough time passed Peter and Carrie and their pizza's while Empire Strikes Back played on Carrie even told Peter everything that happened to Margaret and Ralph White…
Peter seemed to take it all well…
"I see…so after you let down Chamberlain you were consumed by that school and believed you needed your lost parents only to learn they weren't real. And you sacrificed yourself to save every Multiverse and universe…and then you end up back here?" Peter asked.
"Uh-huh." Carrie said.
"Well I don't see how that would make you a bad person. I understand you lost so much. I did too. In fact I did too." Peter said.
"What happened?" Carrie asked.
Peter then explains everything that happened in Europe with Quinten Beck, his identity getting exposed and when he asked Dr. Strange to make everyone forget his identity but not wanting Michelle, Ned, May, Happy, and the Starks to forget that came with a side effect of learning about the Multiverse himself meeting two more Spider-Men and facing off their past enemies. Even May's murder at the hands of the Green Goblin and when Dr. Strange casted the forgetful spell in a result the whole world, even his friends forgotten about him…
Carrie was completely shocked and distraught…
"I'm so sorry." Carrie said sadly.
"Yeah…it is what it is." Peter said.
"You guessed the Starks don't remember you either." Carrie said.
"No. Not even Happy. Ever since Mr. Stark died; he has been there for my Aunt and me. And…it freaked me out they were a thing…I mean I know Aunt May's been lonely since my Uncle Ben died but I didn't know how else to take it." Peter said.
"I can understand that too. About a year before my parents died…my mother was pregnant with me…" Carrie said.
"Pregnant?" Peter asked.
"I cried very deeply to know I was their daughter but…they raised us…and I didn't care that I was their daughter later they were us." Carrie said.
"Blood?" Peter asked.
"Yeah." Carrie said.
"So what happened to your parents?" Peter asked.
"I don't know. I never have them. My parents were dead. My father was killed in a car accident. My mother gave it to me and Mama died." Carrie said.
"Bloody Mary." Peter said.
"What?" Carrie asked.
"Sorry. Has a Bloody Mary movie." Peter said.
They continued talking and soon after the movie ended put their leftover pizza in the fridge Peter and Carrie had to figure out sleeping arrangements.
"So…two of us in one bed. How are we gonna work this out?" Carrie asked.
"Uh…well you can have the bed, I'll take the couch." Peter said.
"Really? I don't want to-" Carrie said.
"It's alright. Really. Besides, I need to go on patrol." Peter said.
Carrie grinned when Peter went into the bathroom to change into his suit, later coming out later with his mask in his hand.
Carrie…was impressed.
"Well look at you. Make your own suit I see." Carrie said with a smile.
"Yeah. No Stark Tech with this. Least I got details other then the last suit I had before I met Mr. Stark." Peter said.
"I'm sure he will be impressed too." Carrie said.
He gave a grin and Peter and Carrie had one last book in their eyes at each other.
Till he finally put his mask on which was the first time Carrie saw him as Spider-Man since Thanos.
Peter went to the window before looking back at her…
"Listen if you get tired go ahead and turn in. I sometimes have late nights." Spider-Man said.
"Alright, thanks. Be careful." Carrie said.
And not a moment too soon he leaped out the window but after he was gone. Carrie looked around the apartment again and as thankful she was Peter's letting her stay here something had to be done with this mess he never sorts out…
Carrie used her telekinesis to clean everything up…
(Meanwhile…)
Later that very morning when Spidery can't back, pulling off his mask to see the apartment clean…
"Oh God…oh God, oh my God…she cleaned." Peter said.
Peter came into the room seeing Carrie in bed asleep and he let her be.
But later when she was up Peter came in with hot chocolate coffee and clothes for Carrie.
"Hey." Carrie said.
"Hey. I…got something for you to wear from F.E.A.S.T. dry cleaners. Also, I wasn't sure you were a hot chocolate coffee drinker." Peter said.
"Your Aunt made some for me every morning." Carrie said.
Peter gave Carrie her hot chocolate coffee and she took a sip.
"I…see you cleaned the apartment." Peter said.
"I thought it was dirty." Carrie said.
"Heh, you sound like my Aunt May. She would have loved you." Peter said.
Carrie laughs.
"Also…I want to you know…I might not say long." Carrie said.
"What…why? This can be your home. Where else do you gotta go?" Peter asked.
"I don't know. I know I've been a wanted fugitive even since Chamberlain. I'm too dangerous to be around anyone. I hurt and killed innocent students at my Ewen High School. I need to be somewhere where I won't hurt anyone again." Carrie explained.
"You won't hurt me." Peter said.
"Don't be certain. My gym teacher Ms. Rita Desjardin's class cursed me with something I have to try and keep within me…if it gets out there's no telling what it'll make me do." Carrie said.
"The Hulk had the same problem and he's been with the Avengers throughout their time." Peter said.
"Dr. Bruce Banner? Avengers? Didn't stop him from leaving after Utlron?" Carrie asked.
"But then he came back to help us stop Thanos." Peter said.
"Thanos? …You know him." Carrie said.
"Carrie…I'm not that safe either. Ever since I was bitten by that radioactive spider I always put my friends in danger. I mean I give anything to have a regular life but…I can't now cause I'm not regular." Peter explained.
Carrie tried to understand, still thinking leaving is safer for both of them but heeding Peter she looked at him in silence…
"Let's see what happens in a week…maybe I'll stay, maybe not but…if we make some arrangements here that might help." Carrie said.
"You got it. And if you like you can come with me on my patrols. Maybe help restore your image. With my web abilities and your telekinesis we can be like…the Dynamic Duo or something." Peter said.
"Yeah, I have telekinesis. You mean like your sidekick?" Carrie asked.
"Well not a sidekick but…definitely a team. Like we used to be in the Avengers." Peter said.
"I'll…I'll think about it." Carrie said.
Peter and Carrie grinned again and then before Peter had to do his homework they went on the couch and turned on the TV…
