Chapter 4: A Long Trip

Odis' eyes slowly start to open as he wakes up from the long nap he had. He then remembered he had someone he was looking after now. Realizing this, he slowly slithered out of his bed and started his way toward the exit of his room, but then looked to his left at the poster. He looked closer to see the date.

Next roundup: March 9th 2011

It was May 6th 2010. It's in almost a year from now. Odis will be sure to remember that. But at least he'll be able to care for the kid for the time being. Speaking of the kid. Odis slithered out of his room and to the guest room. Addy was still coiled up on his bed, still in a deep rest. Odis didn't feel the need to wake him up just yet. He left the room and decided to get breakfast ready. He went through the kitchen to see what he had. He looked through the pantry room. He had some leftover meat he could heat up. With that he grabbed the piece of meat and started to get to work.

Addy who was still coiled up in the guest room was having a very peaceful sleep. A sudden scent had caused his tongue to flick the air. The aroma that caught his tongue made his stomach growl, causing his eyes to open slowly. He heard a sizzling sound coming from the kitchen outside his room. With that, the creature uncoiled himself and slithered his way through the living room turn left into the kitchen.

"Look who's awake. You're just in time for breakfast." Odis who had just noticed the small snake come in, started placing the two pieces he was cooking onto two seperate plates. He turned off the stove and took the two plates to the table where Addy was sitting. He set one plate in front of Addy and the other infront of himself. The smaller snake started to chow down while Odis started taking bites out of his. After a while, he broke the silence.

"I don't think I've told you yet, but fer a while, I've been planning on doing a few month trip around the desert, just to visit a few towns. And since you're staying with me fer now, I'm hopin' you can come with me." Addy looked up at the bigger snake with a mouth filled with food and tilted his head.

"And if you don't mind, I plan on leaving today. But since you just got settled in, I feel like it should be your choice if we go or not." The smaller snake swallowed the last bite he had and slithered off toward the tunnel, stopping in front of it. This immediatly put the idea in Odis' head.

"You wanna go today?" Addy nodded his head.

"Alright, let me get ready first."

After waiting a few minutes, Addy saw Odis come out of his room, putting his hat back on his head.

"You ready?" Addy nodded.

"Alright, let's get goin'." With that they left the den. They slithered out of the skulls eye one last time and went their way through the desert.

"I need to get you to speak."

Sorry short chapter.

I promise to make longer ones after this one.
