The two Kurama's led the group into the greater hall, where they had big news to share. Crowama surveyed the area, contempt in her eyes. "Where are those crows when you need them?" She cupped her hands around her mouth. "The guests are here! Time to show some face!" The queen called out.

Behind her, Ran scoffed. "I wonder what she's trying to show off now."

"I do hope that she'll show us the royal jewels," Oyuki mused.

Ran glared at her. "So that you could weasel them out of her grasp and into your own?"

Ever the unchanging, Oyuki's expression remained as placid as ever. Only her eyes moved to look at Ran. "I am deeply offended." She then trained her eyes back onto the king and queen before them.

Kuwabara bent downwards so that he could speak into Ran's ear. "Is she?" He asked. "She doesn't look 'deeply' anything, let alone offended." The ice maiden reminded him a lot of Hiei, only that Hiei's only emotions were anger or annoyance whereas Oyuki had none. However they both carried themselves rather stiffly in social situations. Perhaps they were made for each other.

Ran scowled at the back of Oyuki's head. "That's the Ice Queen for you." Ran knew better than to try anything other than making harsh remarks towards Oyuki as she was deeply afraid of the woman. Out of all of her peers, the Neptunian was the most frightening. More frightening than Lum and even more frightening than Benten.

But Crowama was slightly more frightening and they were in her home after all. Best not to stir up much trouble.

Kuwabara lifted his posture, discontented by Ran's response. He was at odds with the pink haired maiden who oddly interjected herself into his life. He couldn't understand how someone who presented herself as so sweet could be so mean spirited. Maybe it wasn't his place to judge.

Finally, tengu filed into the hall, a bassinet held in between them.

Lum was the first to voice her surprise. "Is that...?"

Crowama grinned toothily as the bassinet was brought towards her. She reached in and grabbed a bundle of blankets, within it a small baby was swaddled. "Yes," Crowama confirmed. "As you all know it is my main goal to repopulate my people. I present to you all... My daughter, Yoko." The mother turned so that everyone could see little Yoko in her arms.

Hiei arched a brow, focusing on Kurama. "Hasn't it only been a year since you two were wed? How old is the child?"

"Three months," answered Kurama with a dip of his head.

Yusuke cut through the awkwardness hanging in the air with a loud chuckle. "Boy, you two didn't waste any time."

The king and queen shared a knowing look. Yusuke hadn't told a lie. From the start of their engagement, it was clear that Crowama wanted a baby. Kurama was more than happy to oblige when he had finished school as he quickly found himself falling for the feathered beauty.

"Looks like they beat us again, Keiko," Yusuke continued, scratching the inside of his ear. "Got married before us and now they had a kid before us."

Keiko rolled her eyes. "The only one who made it into a competition was you." The brunette was mildly annoyed, but she toyed with the wedding ring in her finger. Sometimes after Kurama and Crowama got married, she and Yusuke eloped.

"How wonderful!" Lum clasped her hands together. "Since everyone is here, I also have an announcement to make!" She waited until all eyes had shifted towards her. Floating at least a foot off the ground, Lum smiled brightly. "I'm pregnant!"

"Ehh?" Crowama grit her teeth. She was practically bristling. "Are you trying to upstage me?" Kurama placed a gentle palm on his wife's shoulder in order to subdue her erratic emotions. Some things don't ever change.

However, it did make sense as to why Lum and Ataru were arguing. Why Lum had alluded to Ataru that she was looking well opposed to whatever he was telling her prior to arriving.

The news did come as a shock, considering Ataru's more lecherous activities.

"Lum..." Benten spoke, darting her eyes between her best friend and her husband. "You and him? You..."

Lum threw an arm over Ataru's shoulder, drawing him in close to her, flushing their bodies together by the hip. Ataru had his arms crossed over his chest, fixing his gaze towards the wall. His cheeks were slightly flushed. "Why is that so surprising? Darling and I have been together for years," Lum reasoned.

"I suppose this means that our little Yoko will have a playmate," Kurama stated softly in order to keep the peace. It was good that their friend groups were getting married and having children around the same time. It would only strengthen their bonds as friendship circles intertwined. Their progeny could keep their friendships going as well.

"Hey Kurama," said Yusuke, "I've been meaning to ask... Why the name Yoko?" He and the others of the spirit detective friend group all knew that name was too familiar.

Kurama had to fess up. "You're right. She is named after Youko Kurama as the very fox spirit has found a new host." He moved his hand from Crowama's shoulder and peeled the blanket from his baby's head. She had a small bit of silvery hair, but the fox ears were unmistakable. She was even growing a couple of wings on the sides of her head, courtesy of her mother.

Even Hiei had to be amused. "She's a demon and an alien. Intriguing."

"You're a demon; I'm an alien," Oyuki ensued. She didn't need to say much to suggest Hiei's thoughts.

"Silence woman," Hiei glared up at her. He didn't need to say much either as Oyuki got her desired response. She hid her mouth behind her sleeve and giggled airily.

"For a half alien, half demon, she sure is a cute baby," Kuwabara complimented. No one else was saying anything particularly nice about the baby so he felt that he should speak up. They were more bewildered by Yoko's genetics if anything.

A tengu and a fox demon.

Wilder matches were made, surely.
