Here it is, the fifty-sixth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released early because I am still ahead in my draft and I wanted to get all of this original arc out for y'all this week before returning to the main story for the main weekly upload. Therefore, this is the last chapter in the original arc I am doing between the move in and the preparing for the provisional license arcs and will be the last thing Momo needs to know to complete the picture of Adrien and Marinette, along with some other stuff for later ideas that have been suggested for this story that need setting up but won't materialize for a while. Anyway, that is all the administrative stuff I have for now and as there are no review questions to answer or guest reviews to respond to I will end this note here. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. Now, though, it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 56th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.
Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.
Chapter 56: Late Night Tea Talks
Momo was thoroughly disorientated by what had just happened to her. One moment she was sitting on Marinette's chaise long and the next she was now on one side of a lilac, comfortable, two-seater sofa with the scent of a few exquisite and rare teas filling her nostrils. Next to her, looking like she'd been expecting it was Marinette though a second later the French girl did have a look of shock and went a little red before looking down at her pajamas. Momo turned and understood right away.
Sitting opposite Momo, sipping a cup of fine tea that had a scent that Momo couldn't identify, was Principal Nezu in is usual suit. He was seated on the normal sized chair that was opposite her, also lilac, with his feet just off it as if it was nothing. In the chair next to him was a man with sandy brown hair, a light stubble, lilac shirt that matched the furniture, and blue jeans. She'd seen him before at the practical final though he had a pair of black gauntlets and a hooded cloak on at the time which he didn't have now. This was Mage, the legal guardian for Marinette and Agreste and apparently a lot more.
That Momo was starting to believe as he was almost certainly the one who'd transported her here. When she'd first saw him she'd known of the hero agency he was a senior member of and what that meant for his skills, but he'd clearly been repressing or suppressing something.
Now she felt a wave of power coming from him that was unlike what she'd ever felt before. It was older with an ancient, almost primal in nature, feel to it and she was starting to understand a bit more of what Marinette had been saying about him. Well, all that and the tea in front of them, several brands, were floating in the air as they were being expertly prepared as if by mere thought.
To calm herself down, Momo looked around the room they were in to center herself. They were clearly still on campus, she recognized that they were in the main building but somewhere in the teacher's area as it was clearly an office. They were in the part of it where you could relax and chat with a sofa facing two chairs and a wooden table between them. Behind the teachers was a large but spartan wooden desk with only a computer and some papers on it, a chair behind it and almost empty shelves with a few books on it. To her right was the door that looked locked.
"Tea?" Mage asked breaking the silence and bringing them back to the situation and surprising her by speaking in English with a distinctive upper class British accent to his voice. "I hear from Marinette that you are quite the connoisseur of the tea leaf Miss Yaoyorozu. I have some of the rare Gold Tips Imperial made just as it is supposed to be made just for you. Personally, I prefer the top English brands with the correct measures of milk and sugar, but tea tastes are in the tongue of the beholder, and I know here the tastes are quite varied with plenty of types to enjoy."
"Um, yes thank you." Momo said in her almost accent less English remembering her manners and knowing to not turn it down, that and who was she to turn down such a hard to find, rare, and exquisite tea that she knew her mother loved. "You know your tea sir."
"No need for formalities here, I'll get enough of that when it comes down to teaching you lot in the third semester." Mage said as the tea finished preparing and floated to Momo who just took it from the air feeling its weight transfer to her hands as she did. "Call me Mage, it's all I've gone by since English became the primary language of the Guardians. Marinette, a usual French blend with sugar I presume."
"Thank you." Marinette said and Momo realized she was speaking English as well and could really hear Marinette's French accent in the language as the girl accepted the tea, but she did know that Marinette's accent was thickest in English for some reason. "Um, why are we speaking English?"
"We can speak French or Japanese if you'd prefer either of those." Nezu said also sticking to English which for him was unaccented though slightly clipped showing that it wasn't his native language. "But as this was Mage's idea and his preference is always English, by the way the British/Japanese tea hybrid you've made is fantastic my friend, but I'd expect that from an anglophile who's been in Japan for at least a year, it was more honorable to start with English."
"You're welcome, always a pleasure to work with a friend who appreciates a good tea." Mage said. "Your tastes always help me ensure that these blends come out just right."
"You know that I can speak French?" Momo asked surprised though she kept talking in English as that seemed to be what they were going with. "I'm not surprised that you know the language Principal, just that you know that I'm proficient in it now."
"Marinette informed me a while back because she was impressed at how quickly you could pick it up, so when I called Nezu in for this I told him we could conduct this in three languages though he does know my personal preference." Mage said. "In my many years I've become quite the anglophile."
"It's fine, I can manage so long as you can deal with my accent." Marinette said also sticking with English. "I am technically fluent, it's just thickest in English as I never really bothered to learn to pronounce the words more than necessary and, well, the whole g/j thing is rather ingrained at this point."
"You were third in English, weren't you." Momo recalled. "In the midterms and finals."
"Yes, my best result in any single class, but you and Adrien are just so much better." Marinette said. "I've been learning the language since I was 5 or so, which wasn't as common as you'd have thought back then in France as it was one of the worst western European or Scandinavian countries with the world's top second language, but Francois Dupont was insistent on teaching it through graduation and when I got into fashion it helped as most of the top articles and works are American, so I was constantly reading it. My Japanese is artificial though, I never actually learned the language properly."
"Right, um, about all that." Momo said looking at the teachers as she sipped the fantastic tea, it was better than any she'd ever had at home, which was saying something, and had been properly made in the tradition way. "I assume that we are here because of what I just learned but, er, how am I here?"
"That would be in part thanks to me informing Mage about the situation." A high-pitched feminine voice said, and Momo turned to see a floating red creature with a few black dots on it that was now at the head of the table between Marinette and Mage and eating a cookie though how it could with its size baffled Momo. "Hello, I'm Tikki, Marinette's kwami."
"Oh, so you're the Ladybug one." Momo said as Marinette sipped her tea, it was her favorite though she wasn't that much of a tea drinker, especially compared to the other three people in the room. "Marinette explained about you and her past to me just before arriving though I didn't see you. She said you'd gone to see Mage which I see was in deed true."
"I did, I went as soon as I confirmed to Marinette that there was no point in hiding her secret from you anymore." Tikki said with a nod. "He needed to be informed and thankfully he had a bit of presence here wrapping things up related to moving the students onto campus to sort this out."
"I had to speak with the Principal about this first and get his opinion." Mage said. "And then wait as I knew that Marinette would at least explain her history with the Miraculouses and kwamis to you, as well as how she ended up in Japan, before transporting you girls to me to discuss my own role in this when I felt enough time had passed for you to be informed of everything."
"And I am here because I am fully in the know about our French students." Nezu said. "As well as Mage's true nature and all that has happened to them. When I learned that they were here I knew that we could use their talents so began the process the moment Mage told me what was going to happen sometime in the next year. Thankfully the transfer exchange system that has been in place for many years worked to our advantage and the Guardians had everything in place to make it work for this year, so we were ready to roll the moment they reappeared. That and I am sure that my presence will help convince you Miss Yaoyorozu."
"It will." Momo admitted. "I know of your reputation and abilities sir and your presence goes a long way in helping me believe what is going on."
"I am sure that you have many questions." Mage said looking at the girls. "Both of you so I'll start with what I know Marinette wants to ask as that is going to be quicker to deal with and then I will address any other questions Miss Yaoyorozu might have as I am sure you have a lot more."
"I do." Momo said.
"And I will answer all truthfully even if you can't believe them." Mage said. "Though I expect you to understand that what we discuss here tonight cannot leave the four of us. The only one who will be informed is Adrien and that's because he and Marinette are in this together, so he has a right to know what has transpired this evening."
"That and I don't hide anything from him, not anymore." Marinette said.
"I can do that; on my honor I will not divulge what I've learned today." Momo said. "I hadn't expected to find out what I did when I began looking into Marinette's connection to the Tsurugi family. I thought it was just some mistake or maybe one of the branch families had reemerged without telling anyone. I hadn't expected it to learn that Marinette and Agreste were from the pre-Quirk era or that magic is real."
"Ah so you have been convinced of that truth already, that will make things a bit easier." Mage said. "That's one thing I don't have to address."
"I saw the female kwamis with Marinette and she showed me a demonstration of how a transformation works with the mouse one." Momo said. "That was enough for me to believe because there's no other answer for it."
"Well done Marinette, that was good, quick, thinking just as I'd expect from you." Mage said. "And I assume that the main thing that you want to know about is Kagami and our mistake there."
"Yes, that is what I want to know." Marinette said. "How did you miss her? I thought everything was in order to avoid there being a loose thread like this."
"It was a multitude of factors that had to go right for it to happen, more than even Demos could have predicted in the many scenarios he runs." Mage said. "And I take full responsibility for the mistake. In short it came down to a combination of timing, focus after the disappearance, learning of at least the rough minimum of when time would catch up with you, location of where all this took place, and the unexpected connection between a classmate and the Tsurugi family."
"Ok so go through it all." Marinette said. "How did it end up with Momo being able to find proof of my existence before the incident that sent Adrien and me into the future?"
"It happened because Kagami slipped through the cracks before we could notice, and we didn't have much of a focus on what was going on in Japan." Mage said with a sigh. "We went into overdrive and panic when you vanished, and then, when we learned the truth of where you were we focused on that. We weren't sure of when you'd be back, but we knew it would be years at least so we had to deal with the first thing that was more important than anything else."
"Ladybug and Cat Noir." Marinette said. "You started with them so that they couldn't be tied to us."
"Correct." Mage said. "After testing a few difference things, I settled on making magical duplicates, similar to sentimonsters for reference though I called them simulacra. They looked, acted, and had the same powers as you and Adrien did when powered up."
"Sentimonster?" Momo asked confused. "What are those?"
"I'll explain those later." Marinette said. "We only faced a few before the incident so I didn't really talk about them as they're going to require more explanation so best to leave them until then. They aren't really relevant right now."
"Ok." Momo said. "Go on."
"Right, well in the initial wake of your disappearance Hawk Moth was very active and struck several times in the first month after he sent you two into the future." Mage said. "But I was basically at near full presence in Paris at the time and using the creations to act as Ladybug and Cat Noir and he never seemed to question how you were back or why you left, he was just even more focused on getting your Miraculouses than before. Thankfully he couldn't and I know the magic of the Miraculouses as I made them so I could mimic them, but it was more draining than usual, and I needed a good few years to recover myself once I was able to retire them."
"I'm confused by some of this." Momo said. "But I have a feeling when I learn more about exactly who you are Mr. Mage, right?"
"You will." Mage said with a nod before taking a sip of his tea and continuing. "Anyway, I kept this up through the end of 2019 and then had Ladybug and Cat Noir 'retire'. This coincided with Hawk Moth no longer attacking, though I waited a month or so before stopping, so it all worked out and over time we recovered the missing Miraculouses. Despite this, we still don't know who Hawk Moth was and the spells on the kwamis prevent Nooroo and Duusu from telling us as he was their holder. I did fix the Peacock Miraculous though, so all of them are in full working order. All that worked out well and we could move to the next phase of the plan."
"What did people think of Marinette and Agreste missing though?" Momo asked.
"Many were sad and upset, it was a tough time with them gone, but most knew that they'd be ok given how close they were with the pair." Mage said. "And over the years they, not really moved on per se, but came to an understanding that they were ok and good despite it and knew that they'd see them again in the next life at least. However, we weren't as focused on your friends as we should be."
"What do you mean?" Marinette asked.
"We kept an eye on them so that they didn't do anything to endanger themselves by trying to find you when it was impossible for them to do so, but we didn't monitor them beyond the surface level of them being your friends to make sure that they were able to move on with their lives." Mage said. "Honestly, I'm the best with mortal emotions and feelings so I wasn't great, and I was out of it for a few years once I retired the simulacra, and while Demos did his stuff his focus was on the future and laying the groundwork for your return which was what we had to deal with."
"No that's fine." Marinette said understanding what was going on. "We've seen that our friends loved us to the end and knew in their hearts that we were safe, that's how close we were and for that Adrien and I are glad, but they had their own lives to live that they had to get on with. It would have been selfish of us not to wish that they live their own lives without us. I wish I could see them again, to tell them that I was ok, that I'm with Adrien now as I always hoped, and that I'm doing what I love with new friends and no secrets on that front but I can't so I will do what they would have wanted for me and move on. No sense dwelling in the past but rather I will focus on the future."
"A mature way to look at it." Mage said with a nod. "And part of why we didn't get involved. Well, that and we have some rather strict rules when it comes to interference what with human self-determination and all that though we have skirted them with things like the Miraculouses. All this also plays into how we missed Kagami's return."
"What do you mean?" Marinette asked. "You missed it?"
"Even with you giving her the Dragon Miraculous to wield at one point, your friendship with her was missed mainly due to the lack of being in the same class and how new it was so it was overlooked in the wake of the incident." Mage said. "I was recovering from having to use so much power to keep the Ladybug and Cat Noir ruses going that I missed key things like that during my recovery and it was during that period that she returned to Japan with the one record that wouldn't be destroyed in the years to come."
"The Quirk Wars." Marinette said. "So much was destroyed during those conflicts."
"Precisely." Mage said with a nod. "The advent came and, well, that's when things began to change, and we had to adapt to the new normal. We'd already begun the ground work for your backstories and made sure you and Adrien were never legally declared dead during what would have been your lifetimes. At the same time as we made the necessary contacts we had to make and worked with our followers and Demos to prepare for when your parents' died as that was the next stage of the plan. We spend a good decade doing this until Dominus fully recovered from locating where you were."
"Dominus?" Momo asked confused as she knew the name. "That's the guy who is in charge of the Guardian Agency, right? One of the strongest heroes in worth thanks to his rather odd Quirk."
"Merely his cover and I'll get to the Master soon enough." Mage said. "But he expended more power than he had in eons, more than I'd ever seen since my ascension, to find you two and it took a full decade to recover and reform and when he did he gave us an update. While he couldn't predict when time would catchup with you, from what he did see he knew that it would be at least 150 years from when he found you at the earliest."
"Wait really?" Marinette asked. "You knew that you had that much time?"
"At a minimum we had 140 years by that point as that estimate was a decade old." Mage said. "But yes we knew that and planned for that as the minimum with no maximum plan. That gave us more time to work with, so we set up the family lines to continue as when your parents and Adrien's father finally passed they were still convinced you were alive and knew you'd be found."
"That is good to know." Marinette said with a smile. "But I wish I didn't put them through it."
"It was hard for them, but they kept your memory alive, and I know that they'd be proud of you." Mage said.
"Thank you." Marinette said recalling the stuff she'd seen that confirmed this but hearing it from Mage did mean a lot. "Go on, please."
"Of course." Mage said. "We used the fact that you two weren't declared dead to have you named head of the family businesses your parents left you and Adrien, doing this through Demos and other intermediaries, and that allowed us to keep the family businesses alive for when you or your heirs arrived to take them and with preserved DNA from them we could make sure that imposters were found out. That's how we kept the Agreste fashion line and Dupain-Cheng bakery going though we did drop the Cheng part to help with your own story when you returned and by the time they died both families had left Paris as the first revolution occurred."
"The 2050 French Anarchist uprising." Momo said recalling it. "One of the earliest acts of Quirk related violence in history, at least that we know of."
"Correct." Mage said. "It was actually a boon for us when that happened, for the backstories that it not anything else as it was a bad time for humanity in general. We were able to use it to get Gabriel and Marinette's parents clear of the violence to continue the lines out of Paris with a promise to return to same locations no matter what once the violence ended. The 2050 revolution was like the one that overthrew, and decapitated Louis XVI, and while it didn't last long but one thing they did do, other than try to exceed the record of beheadings that the last one held, was destroy key symbols of the past that might inspire hope, dissent, or even revolution against them."
"The statue of us." Marinette said surprising Momo. "And all that."
"Yup, they did their best to erase the heroes of the past including Ladybug and Cat Noir." Mage said. "And that actually caused the counter revolution and the counter revolution to the counter revolution and well for the next 125 years France was in a near permanent state of civil war with very little peace. Naturally during that period basically all French culture that wasn't already a few centuries old was lost so the stories of Ladybug and Cat Noir, the music and films of that era, all that was lost and not just in France though France was one of the worst hit, but globally this happened. It set humanity back a full century and basically anything post WWII is considered lost or fragmented at best."
"I remember learning that because of the Quirk Wars we are still here instead of exploring space because of how badly we set ourselves back." Momo said. "And there's no way to get what was lost back because during the wars those who hated things used the chaos to eradicate them from existence in some seriously effective purges."
"Correct, so much was destroyed for so many stupid reasons." Mage said. "And while we have preserved some that was lost, our restrictions prevent us from reintroducing it for it we cannot return to mankind what mankind has destroyed by its own hand. A shame but oh well."
"It's why I can't share any of my actual music or film tastes with the class." Marinette said. "It's all lost music so too many questions to answer if I did."
"It is for the best." Mage said. "Society moved on in the wake of the Quirk Wars and doesn't care for the pre advent stuff with the exceptions of some niche historians. The Quirk Wars helped us though because we were able to ensure that the records from Ladybug and Cat Noir were gone thus giving Marinette and Adrien a fresh start wherever they arrived."
"A slight silver lining to all the chaos of that time." Nezu said speaking for the first time in a while. "But such is to be expected when something like the advent happens."
"Alas it is true, humanity could only be reborn in this new age through bloodshed." Mage said sadly. "And we used that as cover for our activities. We used various intermediaries through the years to keep the families going with who we presented as the great-great grandchildren of Adrien and Marinette as being the first to come back publicly. We did that because by then no one was alive who knew them to contradict us, and the families could simply claim that they were hiding due to the Quirk Wars. That was also the reason why their records were vague from around 2000 until 2150 or so and that any records they did have were family secrets, part of the trade kinda stuff."
"Understandable and clever." Momo said seeing the logic in what the man was claiming. "Using the actions of the post advent to ensure that Marinette and Agreste could have that chance."
"Correct and we also took over where Francois Dupont had been." Mage said. "It was destroyed in the wars but in the wake of the new Hero Code of France we made sure to be the ones who rebuilt the school to ensure that the records were as we wanted them to be, and we began setting up the exchange transfer system thing so that we could act wherever Marinette and Adrien reappeared if it wasn't France. The whole secrecy part was an homage to what legends who's names were lost but it was also designed to cover for when students left and what not. We also would use stand ins for here and there, forged records, and various other methods to ensure that we were always ready."
"And yet in all this you missed Kagami and her family." Marinette pointed out.
"Missing the family part, well that was the whole Quirk Wars, and my focus was on France and Europe in general not Japan." Mage said. "We've never had a strong presence in Asia, but I had contacts in Shanghai, who had their own things to deal with, so we didn't really notice what was going on here. As such we never realized what Kagami had established and as she brought back records she was able to preserve them better using her own method."
"Then because of my family I know the Tsurugis and could contact the current patriarch and learn about his ancestor who was instrumental in the early attempts to create a hero society here." Momo said. "But only I can do this in the class."
"Correct and we can actually use this a bit to further a few plans that Demos has been hounding me on." Mage said thinking on the situation. "I will ask you to tell me when you have a moment tomorrow exactly what happened in your talk with the Tsurugi patriarch, but I can work this to our advantage and ensure that he doesn't question anything."
"You can?" Momo asked. "How?"
"Simple." Mage said. "Business contacts that all line up nicely. You are currently in class with the latest Agreste heir and the Agrestes once had a profitable relationship with the Tsurugis. Right now, the Agrestes are looking to break into the Japanese market, a way to explain why Adrien was allowed to come to U.A. as part of the transfer system despite the Agreste family habit of being rather isolationist and eccentric, through their costume line. To achieve that they've partnered with Technus, the biggest support scientist, maker, and costume creator in Europe, to do so as he wishes to branch out here."
"Wouldn't that disrupt the balance of power between David Shield and Technus?" Momo asked confused as she knew a little of this due to her father's holdings in various support companies. "They have a delicate balance as it is."
"It's not as delicate as they make it out to be." Mage said surprising her. "Their only limitations are that Technus has the monopoly on Europe, while Shield has it in North America. The rest of the world is fair game and with Adrien here Technus has seen an opening. I too have seen an opening with this and using an asset of Technus's who's one of our more clandestine followers as the middle man we can place him here to run the Tokyo store and costume stuff. That's just a cover though as he's a covert hero with an international license through the London branch of the Guardian Agency so he can be used to keep track of the underground for Shigaraki and other criminals."
"It is a wise plan." Nezu said as he poured himself another cup of tea. "And gets around some red tape as Japan can deny any actions if it gets bad. These kinda covert assets do get tacit approval from the Heroes Public Safety Commission due to the plausible deniability they have."
"And this works with the Tsurugis?" Marinette asked as she tried to follow things.
"Well now we need to keep an eye on Mr. Tsurugi just in case he gets more suspicious about Yaoyorozu's questioning." Mage said knowing he'd at least have to put some sort of spell on whatever that evidence was so that people who saw it forgot it afterwards similar to the spells on the Miraculouses that prevented people from realizing who was behind the mask when it was obvious otherwise. "And he's a business man, surely he wouldn't be opposed to helping distribute a partnership for the top European fashion company and the top support gear maker there when they enter the Japanese market. They'll need a high society Japanese representative what with the culture and everything after all."
"That they will." Momo said understanding now. "And while I'll have to apologize for my ruse I can just say that it was all to make sure that he was from the right family so that mine can facilitate this kinda deal as I know Agreste from class and thought of the Tsurugi family as the perfect Japanese partner for them when I heard of this idea. I am sure my father will not complain about me doing what I am trained for for when I take over from him, nor will he when he gets the finder's fee that I am sure the Yaoyorozu family will receive."
"Naturally, we'll discuss the finer details tomorrow after your training though." Mage said with a grin. "Along with anymore lingering questions you might have for me that I can't address tonight as they'd be distracting."
"Of course, I'll come by once I'm done if that is ok." Momo said. "All we are doing between now and the licensing exam is training so I'll have some time when it's over for the day."
"I have some of the second and third years who use weapons during the day but as it's still break and I'm not teaching you lot until the third semester, so I'll be free." Mage said. "Well, that and when you learn the full truth of who I am you'll understand why it's not really a problem for me."
"Yes on that, what are you?" Momo asked setting down her now empty tea cup. "I'm still struggling to process everything and at this point it's best to just assume it's all true because Principal Nezu is here and not contradicting it at all, but I have gotten the feeling that you aren't human, are you Mage. Or at least you aren't what I'd consider a normal human to be."
"Yes I can vouch for any information you are uncertain of." Nezu said sipping some tea. "It took me a while to believe when I found out several years ago but it is all true so you can trust Mage and what he says. I will vouch for it on my honor."
"That is good enough for me." Momo said.
"Good but before I tell you my true nature because at this point you are deep enough in this to be let in on the truth about me and the order I belong to and sworn to secrecy about it." Mage said looking at Marinette. "Marinette, any more questions?"
"No, not that I can think of." Marinette said after a pause to think on them. "If I do I'll ask you but, well, Adrien and I know our backstories and while Momo could find out no one else can I think and with Momo knowing it is a relief to at least have someone I don't have to lie to about this stuff. Momo you are going to have to help us maintain our secret though."
"Of course." Momo said. "All this is hard to believe but I'm seeing the proof and it's being vouched for, so I do believe it."
"Thank you, this is actually a huge relief that at least with you Adrien and I don't have to lie, I just have to tell him." Marinette said with a smile at her friend. "And so long as Aoyama isn't around we do have French to talk if need be."
"I learned it to honor your culture and your efforts with Japanese as you are my friend." Momo said. "And now it will help more it seems."
"Well as I said, my Japanese isn't natural." Marinette said. "And it's all thanks to Mage."
"Right Mr. Mage." Momo said turning back to him. "I'm ready. What on earth are you?"
"I am a Guardian of an Element." Mage said simply which didn't answer her question, so he just grinned and continued. "Our agency is just a front for us to interact more in this world and do our mandate in these new times since the advent, the Quirk Wars, and the creation of the Hero Codes. Those of us who hold the title Guardian, 31 in total, are not mortal, we are immortal beings who, with 4 exceptions, have been granted our element by the Master Guardian and thus achieved ascension to their ranks to be that Element's physical representative on earth. Our titles that you know of are what we are, so I am the Guardian of Magic, which means that my element is magic. That said, I was immortal before I was named a Guardian."
Momo just blinked at that. It was certainly a lot to take in. Was she really in the presence of an immortal being? Well, she had heard him talk about doing things over 200 years ago and Marinette and Nezu were both unfazed but this. The latter even nodded in confirmation as he took a sip of tea as if all this was perfectly normal.
That basically settled it for Momo. Here were two people she trusted vouching for what the one she didn't know had said and she'd seen so much, and learned even more, in the last hour or so that there wasn't any other way to explain it to her. Best to just take this as truth and go with it at this point.
"Ok so the Guardians of the Elements isn't actually a group of 31 heroes who hold strong powers over what the leader deems to be an element from all over the world and who form the leadership of the only truly internationally sanctioned Hero Agency." Momo said as she tried to put her rampaging thoughts into words. "But rather they are actually a group of immortal beings who've existed for god knows how long and serve humanity in some way but have serious restrictions on how they can interact with it? Am I right or at least close?"
"I'd say close but there is a bit more to fully understand them." Nezu said looking at Mage. "Mage, I think an overview is necessary."
"Probably for the best." Mage said in agreement with Nezu. "Alright Miss Yaoyorozu, I will give you an overview of my order so that you understand. If you have any more specific questions about me in particular or my organization, which is larger than you'd know and I haven't even told Marinette and Adrien the full structure as that is for after they get their provisional licenses, then see me in your own time and I'll answer whatever questions you may have."
"I can do that." Momo said with a nod. "And given the hour and everything I'll take the overview now as it will probably answer the last few questions though I think I'll need to also know your stuff with the kwamis, Miraculouses, and what you did to Marinette and Agreste to give them Quirks. You were the one who did that, right?"
"I did and before you ask I could only do it for them due to certain circumstances and conditions that they met; I couldn't do it for some random Quirkless person." Mage said. "I could for them because they'd used the Miraculouses so much that my magic, which I used to create them, was in their bodies due to their prolonged use. I was able to use that trace of my magic to turn their DNA into what human DNA is these days and grant them their Miraculous powers as their Quirks but only their standard power, the purification and clearing stuff Marinette could do was not possible, and I was able to enhance their bodies as well, so I basically just made it like their Miraculouses were always active."
"And you used the history and institution of Quirk Marriages to explain that." Momo said understanding that part now as well. "Ingenious. Europe was known to do it a lot back in the day, some places still do I believe, so who'd question two upper class European families who were avoiding their home during the wars from doing it to preserve the line and make it stronger with an enhanced constitution over the years just in case they needed it given France's history with class structure. That was one thing that always made sense to me, so I never questioned it, for me it was the experience and skill that got me, and the photo caused me to look into it."
"Yes that institution was especially useful to the Guardians when Mage announced he'd change their DNA to make their Miraculous powers their Quirks." Nezu said. "But we are a bit off topic. Let's get back to the overview of the Guardians."
"Right sorry, I'll ask you or Marinette any clarifications I may need on that later." Momo said. "Please continue."
"Alright well get ready." Mage said. "Because I'm going to take you back to the beginning of everything, and by the beginning I mean the literal beginning of the universe when there was nothing but blackness. From that was born the first deity, Chaos, and it was his spark that created the universe."
"Um." Momo said. "You mean the big bang."
"Miss Yaoyorozu." Nezu said. "I know that what you are about to hear will be hard but keep an open mind as you are about to learn that a lot of things that may seem like myth but that are actually true and various concepts in humanity are, well, just concepts. One thing you should know though is that Quirks and their arrival has nothing to do with any of this, that was a pure evolution of humans beyond the powers of the gods."
"Um ok." Momo said trusting her Principal. "I guess a lot of humanity is built on a lie then."
"Not so much a lie." Mage said. "But rather their own rationalization for it and, well, it's hard to say what is exactly right and wrong but all that and the various pantheons of this world aren't really relevant right now. I'll tell you the creation of the Guardians and our mandate. My own family history and what not can be shared by Marinette, the kwamis or myself in private unless it comes up in the course of this explanation."
"Alright I think I'll wait then on that." Momo said her head starting to hurt. "I am not sure I can handle it otherwise."
"A wise choice, it took me several meetings to understand this." Nezu said. "It's not something that one gets overnight."
"A month or so for me and Adrien." Marinette said. "Though having the kwamis and our experiences with them did help."
"Alright I'll do my best." Momo said. "Go on Mage."
"Right, in the beginning Chaos created the universe." Mage said. "And from that earth was formed and what not. At first there was just the earth and sky, but Chaos knew that more would come and while he wasn't going to do much with it, he knew that he needed someone around who'd make sure that balance in his creation was maintained. As such he created a being who would be his representative on earth after it was formed. He'd be the person who held the line between order and, well, chaos, and protect the elements that made up this world thus maintaining it for those who would inhabit it. That being was the Master Guardian who these days goes by the name Dominus which is Latin for master."
"That makes sense for a name and he's the one who is the leader of the agency these days." Momo said just going with it at this point. "Right?"
"Right." Mage said with a nod. "To assist him Chaos, create the first 4 Guardians from their primordial elements. These are the original Guardians, the only ones who weren't granted their element by Dominus and who can't have it taken from them. While I was granted the Element of Magic and became it's representative of sorts, these 4 are literally their elements and their personalities reflect that."
"Huh?" Momo asked confused.
"They can take human forms, but they will be a lot like how their element works in nature." Mage said which didn't really answer anything, but he continued. "Together with Dominus they are the primordial or original Guardians and serve as a ruling council for us of sorts though we all have a say on matters pertaining to the order. To ascend at least 4 of them are needed to approve it, as well as at least 75% of the remaining Guardians, and all 5 must be present for the ceremony but that's not relevant right now. What is, is that they are the original ones at the start when our order was founded."
"By original elements do you mean the typical ones?" Momo asked. "You know, earth, air, fire and water. I know the Chinese include metal in that but if I recall western canon well enough it's just those 4."
"Half right." Mage said. "For reasons only Chaos himself knows, he deemed earth and air already covered by the earth and sky so instead he took light and thunder to replace them in the first 4. Fire and water are original though. Earth and air would become the first two new Guardians granted their elements by Dominus. Over the eons after the original 5, a total of 27 people of varying ancestries be they illegitimate immortal children of the gods, children of gods and mortals, or just regular mortals, earned their way to ascension after pledging loyalty to the Guardians and working their way through the support system we have in place as we need followers to fully execute our mandate."
"Wait but if there are 27 who joined after the originals then that would be 32." Momo said easily noticing the discrepancy. "Not 31 as there are now."
"True but one of our number betrayed us." Mage said darkly. "It was millennia ago, the original Guardian of Ghosts, and no I don't know why Dominus deemed that an element, he can be a bit strange at times. Anyway, that Guardian turned her back on us, joined our enemies and tried to usurp Dominus. In the process she got a little under half our support system at the time on her side and initiated a civil war that raged for over a decade before the final battle where she was defeated, stripped of her powers, and captured."
"Captured?" Momo asked a bit confused. "For her treason?"
"Yes and she had to be as she was immortal by birth though even without that her full immortality was guaranteed when she became a Guardian and that is the one part of the ascension Dominus can't revoke." Mage said. "To this day she languishes in our special prison but that is not for here or there. In the wake of the war, which occurred before I became a Guardian, the process to Guardianship was streamlined and codified."
"I see." Momo said not fully understanding most of it, but she'd heard of mythological wars, all folklore had them, so perhaps this was something similar but relevant to these people. "And since then, you've become a Guardian. Why Magic though? Seems a bit nebulous."
"That is about right for my element, it's not the most, er, defined one we have though not the vaguest either." Mage admitted. "Magic can interact more with the other elements than most and is basically about changing reality in a lot of ways. It's really hard to define what I do, which made my cover hard to work out until we based it in human theories of alchemy, but Dominus chose that for me after my service and a boon I granted a segment of humanity that is tied to magic. As for why, it was the only element that made sense given my parentage and how I already had magical powers due to them, this just made me the Guardian of Magic thus granting it elemental status."
"Parents?" Momo asked.
"My mother was the Greek titan and goddess of magic Hecate." Mage said. "And my father the Egyptian king of the gods Ra. The pantheons were banned from that kinda mixing so I am an illegitimate immortal by birth and as such was given to Dominus to be raised in service to the Guardians to avoid anything worse befalling me."
"Really?" Momo asked.
"There were worse things for illegitimate immortals back in the day." Mage said. "Dominus sought to stop this and offered to take in any to be trained by the Guardians and to support and aid them with the chance of ascension one day. The Guardians treat those who pledge their service to them right and I loved it back when I was but a supporter. I excelled in the system and along with 3 others I was one of the 4 who properly codified the support system in the wake of the civil war. It wouldn't be long before I became the second of those 4 to ascend and the other two have also ascended since. My number, 18, denotes that I am the 18th Guardian though technically 19th what with the traitor."
"I am going to have to look into Greek and Egyptian mythology one day, I don't know the western ones well." Momo admitted. "But I take it they're all real."
"Were real, most are either faded or in hibernation with only a few, mainly the underworld ones, still around." Mage said with a hint of sadness to his voice. "The advent of Quirks and the Quirk Wars drove them from human memory and that is what sustained them. It wasn't enough to make them fade from this world but enough to destabilize many of them. Dominus, with the blessing of Chaos, put many into a long-term hibernation until humanity recalls them again. Happened to both my parents, not that I was close with them, and these days humanity is pretty much agnostic with few world religions surviving. Don't ask me about things like the Christian God though, that's a whole other rabbit hole."
"I won't." Momo said thinking on a few things before settling on the last thing she felt that she needed to know right now. "I guess there's just one more thing to ask. Dominus, what's his power?"
"All and none." Mage said trying to sound mystic while Tikki just rolled her eyes at the attempt, but Momo just looked confused. "Yeah confusing, as I said he can be a bit strange. He has all our powers though any element with a Guardian has more power with their element than Dominus because he gave it to them, or they are made from it, while at the same time he is not a Guardian of anything. Many of us theorize that if he was to hold a title other than the Master Guardian it would be the Guardian of Chaos for he is made from Chaos but that's just a theory. He's a very busy man due to his position though, you won't meet him anytime soon."
"I've met him once back when we first arrived." Marinette said. "Well, a week afterwards and Nezu was there as well to explain things."
"Correct I was brought in for all this as Mage approached me once they knew that the pair would appear in Japan." Nezu said. "The timing worked out fantastically well for me and after I quick thought I realized that if possible it would be great to have them here at U.A. so I set to work on the transfer stuff just in case. It allowed Dupain-Cheng and Agreste to come in when they did, do what they love and as you can tell what they are very good at."
"Very much so, Marinette has impressed me many times this year, as has Agreste." Momo said. "Ok, I think I understand what is going on and will accept it as the truth. I mean I was literally teleported here by magic, right?"
"That would be correct." Mage said. "As you can tell, nebulous power and what not. I basically mimic alchemy when being a hero, if I have to use my 'Quirk' in the field that is, to explain it away. You've also met one of my colleagues in Gem and seen some of her power."
"I have." Momo said surprised he knew. "I take you know of Marinette's girls day in Tokyo."
"I had to give permission for it though I was away at the time sorting something out that required a bit more of my essence to sort out, we Guardians can break up our consciousnesses so we can be in many places at once but the more power we need to use the more of it we need to be present in that location." Mage said. "Gem is my backup for when I have to be away like that, I can't leave a pair of teens alone in Tokyo now can I, due to her continental European roots and base. If you are wondering, yes she is the Guardian of Minerals as it says, and she does control and can make any mineral in its purest form. One of our most recent members at number 29 and we don't expect an ascension soon."
"When was the last one?" Momo asked out of pure curiosity.
"Sometime in the 1800s." Mage said thinking back on it. "Usually, it's a good few centuries between them and what with the advent things are still being reassessed by us."
"Oh ok, I think I'm satisfied for now." Momo said. "I certainly wasn't expecting any of this when I went to see Marinette earlier, I think I kicked a hornet's nest or something."
"A few yes but it shows your tenacity and drive to see something through to the end." Mage said. "You'll make a great hero one day Miss Yaoyorozu. Now if that is all, it is late and you two do have to get ready for classes tomorrow."
"We should get going." Marinette said speaking for the first time in a while as she knew all or most of this Guardian stuff and had long finished her tea and set the cup down on the table. "We do need to study for the upcoming test."
"Um actually Marinette." Momo said looking at her and voicing something she'd been thinking since she found out about her history. "I was wondering if there is anything that could help you and Agreste that might be done."
"Help me?" Marinette asked confused. "Why?"
"Well, you've been through so much and you've basically arrived in the future and gotten down to work so far from home." Momo said. "Surely something can be done to help you guys feel more at home here or something like that."
"Honestly I can't think of anything." Marinette admitted. "It's not really something I've thought about at all. I've kinda been focused on reintegration, making new friends, Adrien, and the hero stuff since we reappeared in the future, for us that is. Sure, it was hard at first but by the time the Sports Festival I felt fully integrated and accepted here. The only times it's been hard has been when Adrien has gotten himself hurt like in Hosu or the forest because he is all I have left from then, so the emotions do come back. I'm trying to move forward and not look back."
"A mature way to look at it." Mage said deciding not to bring up what he learned from Ochaco Uraraka when he had a chat with her regarding Marinette having what had to have been a nightmare. "Always best to keep looking forward."
"Mage, I think you're not the best person for this given your immortality, it has given you a different outlook on life than us mortals." Nezu said setting his cup down on the arm of the chair, where it promptly vanished, and putting his paws together. "I however agree with Miss Yaoyorozu, I think we've been neglecting our French pairs' need for something from home now that they live so far from Paris."
"There's nothing to it." Marinette said still unsure what was going on. "I've got my new group of girls and now that the class know of my fashion and baking it's like I'm back in the old days only now I can be open about my hero stuff, power, and being with Adrien. There isn't really a need for anything from home that I can think of."
"I understand that but, well, I've got a proposition for you that you don't have to take but it could help in ways you didn't know, and I know that there is a good use for it here." Nezu said. "I've been thinking a lot during this meeting with my High Specs Quirk to think on the future, and I think that there is a way for us to get a few things we need done and help you out with something you are used to from home."
"Um ok, I'm listening." Marinette said intrigued. "What did you have in mind Principal?"
"Well as you know we are in troubling and trying times right now in the wake of All Might's retirement, All for One's arrest, and the attacks on this school." Nezu began. "In response to this, Mage has offered to bring in a team of covert heroes who are all pledged to the Guardians to work in the shadows to get intel for us, but the HPSC is being bureaucratic about it given the rules on such agents. However, seeing you and thinking of deeper needs that we've failed to addressed with you and Mr. Agreste I've come up with a way to rectify all that through you Miss Dupain-Cheng. In addition, it would provide an early warning system for the school once sorted out just in case the worst happens again."
"I'm listening." Marinette said still not sure where this was going but it sounded like she could be of use to the school and the efforts to stop Shigaraki and the League which she wanted to be. "I'm always willing to help out where I can."
"At the base of the mountain that U.A. sits on there are a few plots of land that are going to be up for sale soon." Nezu said. "And they are outside our property but close enough that students can currently visit the area with permission. This is where Dupain-Cheng comes into play. My proposition is that you, through the entity that the Guardians control that acts as the Dupain and Agreste families until you are old enough to take full control of them in a believable fashion, buy that land in the Dupain family's name and build the latest franchise of Tom and Sabine's Boulangerie & Patisserie there."
"A bakery?" Marinette asked her eyes wide, she hadn't thought about establishing one here, or at all really, since getting to the future as she'd barely had the chance to bake let alone think about what was once her home. "Here?"
"It would make a lot of sense, and no one would bat an eyelid at it." Nezu said. "You are after all a noted student here given your success in the Sports Festival and your status as a transfer student from France is well known. Anyone who does any look into you will come across the Dupain family business and their famous bakery chain that has locations in Europe and America but only one in Asia that is located in Shanghai."
"That was established by the way to help with part of your cover." Mage said. "As you are half Chinese and that half comes from that city putting one there would make sense for the family business to pay homage to your mother's side after she joined the family, we just didn't set it up until we knew you would be arriving so that it could be tied to you in a more believable fashion just in case. With you being in Japan now that just adds to what would amount to a smart business decision by your family."
"It does?" Marinette asked confused. "I'll admit, business isn't really my area of expertise, that's Adrien's."
"The branch in Shanghai has been quite successful." Nezu said. "I visited it when I was there a few weeks ago in fact and it was packed and is making a tidy profit as demand outstrips supply there. They do a great selection of authentic French pastries along with traditional Chinese sweets and a hybrid approach to some of the dishes there that were handed down through your mother's family over the years. That is what the bakery is known for, along with being top quality, reasonably priced, family friendly and philanthropic. With you here it would make sense that the family would want to branch out to Japan and after a successful Asian expansion with Shanghai it would actually be suspicious if they didn't do that."
"Of course, if we expand here we'd also have to set up for a few others around the region to maintain the cover of what the Musutafu branch." Mage said. "With your approval of course but I can see us looking at expanding to Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Saigon at least with probably Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta to follow. If all that works then there's also Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Canberra in Australia as well as Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand to consider."
"That's a large expansion." Marinette said as she tried to remember where they'd already expanded as part of the backstory for her family. "Currently the family business that you've done great with and really grown for me has the main place in Paris, the mother store, and in London, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, and New York, right?"
"Well also places in Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Orleans, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia in the states as well as one in Montreal in Canada." Mage said surprising Marinette. "It's really popular there. We've also looked at Stockholm, Oslo, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Algiers, Cairo, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Jerusalem, and Amsterdam in the European and North African markets while checking out Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, St. Louis, Detroit, Austin, Boston, and Tampa that we've looked at in the North American market. There's even been consideration to look at Dubai, Muscat, Doha, and Riyad in the Middle Eastern market."
"Um ok that is, um, a lot." Marinette said her eyes wide now. "I didn't realize how big it had grown."
"Marinette, didn't you look over what we've done." Mage asked and she shook her head as she hadn't really had the time to just sit down and check to see what her family's current status was that she'd one day deal with when she was of age. "Oh well with you and Adrien we grew the family businesses well because they are successful, and saturation is a good cover for you two. The authentic French pastry angle with a new age look at hybridization and a willingness to hire local talent for local dishes really worked well in your case. We just focused on the western markets due to taste preferences and we didn't really think it would be Japan where you ended up reappearing."
"Now though this all works to our favor." Nezu said. "And before I continue I want to let both you girls know that what is about to be discussed here is to remain here as this is going to be classified information. The only other person who will be informed of what I propose, should you accept Miss Dupain-Cheng, is Mr. Agreste as he needs to know for various reasons as well as the whole Technus/Agreste partnership stuff as that is now going to be stepped up what with the Tsurugi angle to deal with."
"I understand and will talk with Adrien about all this tomorrow." Marinette said with a nod. "We are planning an early morning run to help with our stamina around the dorms, so this works for us."
"And at this point I'm in for it all." Momo said. "I know everything about Marinette and Mage, so this is just another secret and if you need my help then just let me know."
"Great then I will continue." Nezu said as he got to his main point. "Now the main reason for the bakery is of course to help Marinette and make her feel fully part of us with having a branch here where she now lives just like she did back in Paris."
"I'll admit that would be nice." Marinette said. "It will be like home even if I won't live there or well visit often given how busy I know I'm going to be and how we can't really leave campus without permission or with our teachers for certain things like the licensing exam."
"Alas true but it's presence will help and that leads to my real reason for suggesting it." Nezu said. "We need a place that can be used as a location for a covert, deep cover, operations team of agents who are pledged to the Guardians to come into Japan to help out with uncovering intel on villains and providing it to myself and Mage outside normal channels so that we can act on it. A business is always a great cover fir this and what better than a family orientated, popular bakery for the family of one of U.A.'s up and coming hero candidates who isn't actually from Japan. No one would question it or the people working there, and they can work behind the scenes as well to keep us in the loop and warn us should there be a threat to the school."
"While this is a great idea Principal." Mage said, he certainly supported it and was already mentally running through candidates from 5th Branch for it. "It is down to Marinette for this."
"I can see the logic in it, and it would be nice to have a taste of home nearby even if visiting it will be rare." Marinette said thinking. "I take it that it will be a while before it is set up though."
"At least 4 months, maybe up to 6." Nez admitted. "That's standard though what with securing the right paperwork, getting registered in Japan, dealing with the legal stuff, buying the land, getting the design approved by you, training for the agents in how to bake your family's recipes because none will have it, bringing in the right one to be their leader and manager as that person will have to come ahead of time to oversee everything. All that is before the building and what not. I wouldn't expect it done until after the new year at the earliest."
"That's fine, I know I am going to be busy, and I'll leave this in your paws and Mage's hands." Marinette said. "But before I approve of this, who will be running it? I'd like to know that at least."
"I won't know until I review the records of our covert operatives and discuss this with Demos as he's technically their boss." Mage said groaning at dealing with the fixer and his many personal agendas that he ran alongside his work for the Guardians as this would no doubt cost yet another favor from Mage to get the info he needed. "But for this no more than 5 will be needed as a small team works. 4 workers, likely French to add to the authenticity of it and foreigners won't get much a look here but the issue is the manager."
"It is?" Marinette asked.
"There are going to be some cultural issues to deal with." Nezu said. "As such it should be someone of Asian heritage who knows Japan well, has spent time here, knows how to run both a business in Asia at least, and is also a leader who can command a covert team. The Guardians have plenty who could do this in Europe, but they don't have many eastern agents and if I recall and even fewer who fit that criteria."
"True but there are one or two that fit it who are from this part of the world." Mage said thinking on it and who he'd have to visit. "I'll contact them first and find the best one for the job. When I do, he or she will be brought here, probably after the provisional license exam but before work studies can start, to meet Marinette for her approval. Once she does approve then the agent can get to work while coordinating with me and Marinette about the bakery and other things."
"That would work for me." Marinette said. "So long as I have final approval over the manager, agents serving as employees, and details of the bakery as that would be expected of me, this includes location, design, menu and general agenda of it at least. I of course can't oversee any of it, I must focus on my hero studies and getting that provisional license, but I can see the benefit of having it around. All I really ask is that it is like how my parents would run it."
"I'd have it no other way." Mage said. "That is one of the biggest selling points of the franchise, the family friendly open atmosphere with quality to match the upscale boutiques at a better price with nicer service. That's how it's become so successful."
"Good then go ahead and start the process to acquire the land." Marinette said as she stifled a yawn. "But if that is all, this has been more than either Momo or I bargained for when we moved into the dorms today, and we do need rest."
"Of course, that is all." Mage said. "Nezu and I will sort out final details and what not but unless he has anything else to say…"
"No just focus on training and passing that license exam students." Nezu said with a smile at them. "We are counting on you future heroes more than ever now."
"We will sir." Marinette and Momo said in unison before Mage snapped his fingers and they vanished, teleported back to Marinette's room.
"An interesting plan Nezu." Mage said once they were gone. "And one I'd have not thought of."
"It's something that has been on my mind for a while though I didn't know that it could be possible with Marinette's aid until I learned of what had happened between her and Miss Yaoyorozu." Nezu said sipping some more tea from a cup that had materialized before him the moment the girls were gone. "This will protect us even more and allow you to do you mandate given the uncertain future we are facing."
"Yes and on that I should get moving." Mage said. "I've got to go to Paris for a bit to discuss things with the 4th major and see who she recommends, as well as send some essence to Demos to work with him, but I will leave enough here to do my general duties to U.A. as a teacher here."
"Yes and I have a school to run." Nezu said putting his cup down and getting off the chair. "I'll help on my end with the land and all the legal paperwork that has to be done, this will remain between us for compartmentalization however, not even All Might should know for the moment as he needs to recover."
"I understand, until next time." Mage said as Nezu left before the Guardian closed his eyes and vanished, sending essence to where he needed to materialize to get this latest project rolling.
Marinette and Momo arrived in Marinette's room, Tikki as well it seemed, blinking from the sudden transportation. Marinette was used to this having had Mage do it a fair bit as their 'commute' the semester before, but she knew that it would be disorientating to Momo.
"We should get to bed." Marinette said inadvertently using English as they'd been speaking it the entire time with Mage and Nezu. "You know tomorrow will be hell and that's just the start of the training that is going to be in store for us."
"It will be." Momo said switching back to French now that it was just them. "And I'll always be here if you need me, especially now that I know all that has happened to you."
"I know and thank you for believing and understanding." Marinette said naturally going back to French upon hearing her mother tongue. "But for now, we should focus on what is ahead of us in the licensing exam."
"Agreed, good night Marinette." Momo said.
"Good night Momo." Marinette said as they exchange a proper French goodbye with a hug and a kiss on each cheek before Momo turned and left the room.
Marinette was glad that someone now knew and accepted her for it. It made things a little easier and who knows, a bakery in a few months might help as well but not as much as being with her new friends in a dorm together as they all worked on becoming heroes. With that in mind, Marinette turned her lights off, leapt up and into her lofted bed, and was out as soon as she had her arms around her Adrien body pillow dreaming of the training to come.
Well, there is the end of this original arc what with Momo now learning the full truth of Mage as well, well most of it anything else I am sure that she will ask about along with getting stories of Marinette's days in Paris as Ladybug there and has accepted it. That was one of the main reasons I brought in Nezu for it because his presence would help a lot and he can think several moves ahead as was seen there. Anything else discussed in this chapter is for the future though as we are now getting back to the main MHA canon story and the provisional license arc, starting with training and other fun that I am sure y'all are eager to see. Therefore, that is all I have for you in this chapter and will leave it off here. If you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
