Here it is, the ninety-fifth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on the right day as promised. It's time for the second battle of the joint training arc and there is one thing to say here for those who only watch the dub and either don't watch the sub or read the manga and that is for once I will be using those for something and not the dub anime like I usually do when there is a conflict on things. That thing is Shihai Kuroiro's Quirk and hero name. In the dub his Quirk is called Dark and his hero name is Vantadark but in the manga and sub it's Black and Vantablack respectively. I will be using the latter in this because I feel like it better fits what his Quirk is so if anyone is confused that is why. The only other thing to mention here is that this is the first chapter after the one year anniversary of this story and I can safely say I didn't expect to be in this arc or at 95 full chapter or pushing 900k words by this point so thank you to all my support that has made this possible and here's to a good year or two more material for this epic story. That is all the administrative stuff I have for now though and as there are no review questions to answer or guest reviews to respond to I will end this note here. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. Now, though, it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 95th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 95: Master of the Abyss

"Hey, Yaoyorozu." Kendo said getting Momo's attention as the teams for the second match of the day walked to the starting points. "There's something I want to ask you before we start."

"Oh ok, what is it Kendo?" Momo asked back looking over to her friend.

"Why weren't you in the beauty pageant?" Kendo asked. "I thought I'd see you there all things considered. I'm sure that you would have stood a good chance in it had you entered."

"I was actually unaware of it until you mentioned that you were in it and by then it was too late." Momo admitted. "For some reason our teacher didn't tell us about it, likely due to Mineta if I had to guess, so I didn't know about it. Regardless, I had band practice so I wouldn't have had time to prepare for it."

"Agreste can play the piano as well though." Kendo pointed out. "Your band had two from what I heard."

"Adrien had to step out to get ready for the second song before the first one ended, so I needed to carry the rest of the piano work for Kyoka's song, plus the second song was mainly done with a piano and there was no way I wasn't going to be the pianist for that song." Momo said smiling at Kendo. "So, it was all for the best I feel, and I guess Mr. Aizawa decided that a pageant wasn't necessary for my hero progress."

"Hmm." Kendo said as she digested what Yaoyorozu had said and more specifically her use of Agreste's first name, something that she hadn't expected but would now have to factor into her battle strategy. "Well, I just thought that after we were in that commercial together during our intern days that you'd do it as well, that was the main reason why Monoma entered me as that commercial got us both a lot of underground support from the general student body. Thanks to it a lot people have started to put us in the same category. Our fans have pushed us into a box together so to speak."

"Into a box?" Momo asked trying to envision that and not really getting it as all she could image was herself trying to stuff Kendo into a box which wasn't exactly what the ginger girl had meant.

"Oh, it's like how people think that idols in the same group are all alike." Toru said helping her friend out as she demonstrated her point with her gloved hands to help show it. "I heard the same people shouting 'Yaoyorozu' and 'Kendo' during the concert cause they've lumped you together. It's all because they saw you both in the same setting and so figured you were alike."

"Oh." Momo said still not fully getting it though that was mainly due to her sheltered upbringing causing her to have a lack of understanding of pop culture. "I still don't understand it though."

"Idolatry." Tokoyami said his eyes closed and tone serious while Kuroiro shivered next to hit. "It is a troubling ritual of today's society."

"Look if I'm being honest." Kendo said as Kuroiro grinned and gave Tokoyami a sidelong look, a scheme forming in his mind that he trusted Kendo would pick up on the moment he laid the foundations of it in front of everyone. "Your grades and Quirk are both better than mine, anyone can see that. I want to be my own hero not lumped in with someone else, especially someone who on paper is better than me, which is why I'm dying to try my hand against you today, Yaoyorozu."

"I gladly accept your challenge Kendo." Momo said with a smile at the challenge and to some extent she at least understood Kendo's desire to be seen for who she was rather than like someone else. "With all of my heart and I'll give it my all as well."

"Hey Tokoyami." Kuroiro said as Kendo nodded in thanks to Momo's acceptance of her challenge thus using this moment to plant his latest scheme. "We're basically the same type, too, you and me."

"If you say so." Tokoyami replied. "I've not really given it much of a thought as few understand the darkness like I do."

"Ah but I do as well, and it is because of that you and I share a destiny." Kuroiro said grinning at Tokoyami. "We are brothers in the shadows of this world."

"Oh, so you have also stared into the abyss then?" Tokoyami asked keeping his eyes on Kuroiro rather than look to his side where he knew Agreste was moving to discuss something with Yaoyorozu though with the French boy's hearing and perception he was likely keeping everything going on around him in mind. "Perhaps you are right."

"Long live the eternal darkness my friend." Kuroiro said with a chuckled as they both turned and walked away from each other. "We shall meet on the field of battle for where there is light there is always shadow and thus we shall engaged each other there."

Tokoyami knew that while Kuroiro may know the abyss and see it like he did thanks to his Quirk, neither of them controlled the darkness the way that Adrien Agreste did. He was the true maestro of the abyss, a man who's power allowed him to bend it to his will thus enabling him to wreak true destruction from the darkness and yet who's soul was strong enough to handle it. Naturally Tokoyami would deal with Kuroiro himself today, but should the abyss be challenged only one of the three present who knew its allure would come out on top, and it wouldn't be him or Kuroiro who did.

"Oh, this is getting good." Toru said excited for the battle with the two challenges.

"Those two aren't twinkling at all, non." Aoyama said as he and Toru joined the others heading to their base and beginning their plans while the rest of the class still to go made their own plans for their upcoming battles in their respective teams and watched the events unfold on the screens. "Light is always better than nuit."

"Are you going to be alright?" Adrien asked Momo as the groups split and headed to their respective points focusing more on the groups de facto leader rather than the darkness chat between Tokoyami and Kuroiro as Adrien assumed that Tokoyami wouldn't fall for any emotional warfare, but Momo might given her past confidence issues. "Kendo seemed to be trying to rattle you a little there."

"It was understandable from her seeing as we were in that commercial together, but I don't put much stock in it." Momo said. "She's got a bit of a chip on her shoulder as you westerners would say because of our differences when we're actually compared so we can use that."

"She's smart and calm, I know that Marinette recognized that back in the woods so don't underestimate her." Adrien said seriously. "And in close combat, she's got you beat. She's got both a power-based Quirk that increases her physical strength and a martial arts background. It's best you don't engage her on a playing field of her choosing but rather yours."

"I know that that is best but we cannot control a battlefield after first contact so I have some ideas should Kendo manage to create a situation to her advantage." Momo said looking to Adrien as they reached their starting point. "All I'll need to do is last long enough to employ them but I'm sure I can after all my training. A lot of this relies on you Adrien so you'd also best be ready."

"Me?" Adrien asked as they all set up.

"It's time to stop costing and letting others shine, Cat Noir." Momo said seriously and shifting to using Adrien's hero name which had added weight to it seeing as Momo alone knew the truth of Adrien's past. "Few in the class know that you are truly Marinette's equal in all aspect. I do and today I expect you to show it should I fall. Part of that scenario, one of many I've planned for, is to set it so that you can take over as the leader of the team, defeat Kendo and send the others in her team into disarray. They will all expect the team to fall if I do because they don't know that you're as much a leader as Marinette is."

"Wait really?" Toru asked as they all gathered up her eyes wide though Tokoyami wasn't too surprised, and Aoyama seemed to just trust his countryman. "We all know how good Marinette is, all us girls really admire her as our leader, so that's high praise."

"Marinette has always been the brains of our partnership as she's a natural leader and she just conclusively proved it but it's not like I can't do things." Adrien said calmly. "Though I will admit I am more reckless than she is, Marinette bests me on battlefield awareness but I've begun to overcome that. However, as Momo said the other team will be expecting her to lead us, and we should play into that."

"And we will which is why I will at least in theory look to be the leader." Momo said as she made communication devices and handed them to Aoyama and Tokoyami, it made no sense with Toru as it would only serve to give away her position by floating in the air while Adrien could key into the frequency from his mask, which he'd did as she spoke. "As such, they will come for me from the start to try and disrupt us, likely through separating me and pitting Kendo against me in single combat. That's why we will strike them with a two-fold attack from the ground and rooftops. Tokoyami, as soon as this starts, send out Dark Shadow to find them so we can converge on them and report it to Adrien."

"Got it." Tokoyami said seriously keeping Dark Shadow inside him for the moment as he'd not have much time if he had to cover a large area.

"Adrien, you go high and use the rooftops and gangways and what not to scout from above while also keeping you separate from the main group thus enabling you to take over should I be defeated." Momo said. "Your skills are in urban combat and mobility and that should transition well to this terrain. Add in your senses and we can find them that way."

"Shouldn't be too hard, I've got a rough sense of who we are facing." Adrien said. "And a preliminary distinction based on their scents. Some like Komori and Fukidashi are stronger than others, but I can deduce all of them by familiarity and gender differences. There is their 5th member, that General Studies kid, he's going to be the biggest unknown in this, however, seeing as none of us know what he can do."

"Which is why you are going to try and find him form the top while Tokoyami and Dark Shadow use the ground for that and learn what you can." Momo said. "Primary goal is to deduce what he can do, it has to be something notable to get this tryout, and then take him down. Toru, you are on stealth and support for this team as Aoyama has light covered though your Warp Refraction may be useful as well. More importantly, how's your hand-to-hand combat?"

"Good, Ojiro has been training me a lot." Toru said happily. "So long as I am in striking distance I can act. Komori is a problem with her mushrooms as they could unearth me and Kuroiro can flee easily if I don't have time to use Warp Refraction, but Fukidashi is pure range so he's the best for me to face. If I can get close to him then I can beat him."

"Then focus on that." Momo said. "And if I fall, Adrien is to take over."

"Understood." Tokoyami said while Aoyama and Toru nodded though they only saw the former nod.

"I have some other plans and tricks but they're emergencies." Momo said as she made a handheld GPS device and handed it to Adrien. "And I've been really working hard on battlefield decisions so if I'm bested I'll make it hard for Kendo to move me. In that case, use this Adrien to find me. I've made a bug that is active and not fully formed out of my body so it can't be removed but I will do so should you need to find me just in case someone else needs it. Find me should I fall; I'll do all I can to make sure that I set up Kendo to fall with me."

"Can do." Adrien said as he opened a pouch on his belt and put the device in before pulling off another pouch and handing it to Momo. "Just in case take this. I have enough protein in the mask canisters and a few spare ones in another pouch, so my emergency stash is better suited with you."

"Thanks." Momo said checking to confirm that it was Adrien's emergency cheese which instantly got Aoyama's attention. "I've got enough lipids for everything I can plan for but it's good to have an emergency for what I can't prepare for."

"Camembert and top quality at zat." Aoyama said twinkling as he eyes the cheese before Momo created a strap on her thigh to attach the pouch to. "My Adrien, you do know some of our best fromage. We must discuss zis further over some of the finest cheese our homeland has to offer."

"It's an emergency protein source that I've used since I started as a hero but for the moment Momo has a better use of it so it will have to wait, Yuga." Adrien said though he was more worried of Plagg finding out of that plan than anything else and quickly moved on by looking at Momo as it was his turn to point something out. "And I think it's time for you to stop playing dumb with most of the class, Momo. No point in keeping it a secret anymore."

"Momo?" Toru asked confused, she'd not realized how close Momo was to Agreste until this moment and was now really confused, though Momo herself just looked to Adrien to meet his green eyes, altered thanks to his mask though she knew the full truth behind the reason for the appearance. "What secret do you have?"

"Vos compétences linguistiques." Adrien said switching to French as he held Momo's gaze as he was being extra evasive given Aoyama's presence, but he knew that the Japanese girl would understand what he was getting at. "Ne le cache plus."

"Agreed, there isn't a point in not revealing it anymore." Momo said in Japanese surprising both Toru and Aoyama though Tokoyami did know of this thanks to being in the band, but it had remained a band secret back then. "Toru, Aoyama, so you know I am proficient in French to the point that I can hold a conversation with a native speaker and have been for a while now. It's not been planned to keep it hidden from the rest of the class, I've just never had the time or opportunity to potentially utilize it until now. However, should something go down and I need to relay something to Adrien or Aoyama that I don't want to be understood I may use French rather than Japanese to relay it."

"Clever." Toru said not surprised at all while Aoyama was amazed. "You really are the smartest in the class Yao-Momo."

"Thank you Hagakure but classroom brains only mean so much on the battlefield and before you say anything, Aoyama, can talk more in French another time if you'd like." Momo said cutting Aoyama off just as the start was given by Vlad King. "For now, into positions and be ready. We will not let our class down."

The others nodded as Adrien leapt up and used his agility to quickly scale a building and move forward, while the others ran in the direction they'd seen Class B's team move and Tokoyami sent out Dark Shadow as the ground scout to find them. It was time to keep Class A's winning streak alive as the second match began.

"Right, before I go over our plan and the various contingencies I've come up with to handle Yaoyorozu there is something we need to know first." Kendo said to her team as they gathered around their prison before the start of the match and she looked at the General Studies kid, Bunshi Mizosa, while Komori passed out disinfectants to everyone so that they wouldn't be affected by her mushrooms when the time came. "What is your Quirk? We should know what it is and how it works to plan accordingly. I should have asked earlier but that battle was something else, so I'll own this failure."

"Of course, and I apologize for not informing you, I too was taken by that battle." Mizosa said as the others began to disinfect themselves and their gear, Fukidashi pointing out to Mizosa what to do as he spoke. "My Quirk is called Dihydrogen Monoxide Manipulation."

"Come again?" Kendo asked blinking at that as it was a lot more technical sounding than she had expected. "What does that mean?"

"It's easier if I show you." Mizosa said as he clenched his right fist and held it upwards before shooting a ball of water out of the tube there. "It's named due to what I can specifically do but it's a little overly specific if you ask me."

The ball didn't burst or anything, instead it floated there before it began to shift and morph changing into a star, a cylinder, and finally a knife as Mizosa held out his hand to manipulate it. The oddest parts to the Class B students was that the water seemed to condense in on itself and no drop fell as Mizosa grabbed his and held it out to Kendo to hold. Confused, she took it and gasped as she was actually able to grip the water as if it was solid.

"What the hell?" Kendo ask as she let go out of shock, but the water stayed where it was before returning to Mizosa who moved it back to his tank through an entry port near the top though there was a slight strain on his face from the action. "You can manipulate water? That's one hell of a Quirk."

"Not exactly." Mizosa said shaking his head. "If I was able to do something similar to hydromancy I wouldn't have failed the entrance exam. Dihydrogen Monoxide is the scientific way of saying two hydrogen atoms bonded with one oxygen, aka a water molecule. I can manipulate the molecules of water itself rather than water as a whole."

"So basically, you're affecting it on a molecular level to change its shape and consistence." Kuroiro said his tone not as shy or soft as it would be had he been addressing Kendo or Komori. "It's a more complex way of manipulating water as a whole."

"Correct, I can't feel the actual flow of water which would be a lot easier." Mizosa said. "It's why I failed the entrance exam; it's taken this long to reach this kind of control with my Quirk because I have to reach within water as a substance to affect it in a sense. I can manipulate water molecules in any state but it's easiest in liquid form as that is when they are at their best state due to being plentiful but fluid at the same time. Water vapor is too thin and ice too rigid for effective manipulation at my current level of control. The fluidity or water in its natural liquid state allows me to more to work with."

"I see well that is good to know." Kendo said as she assimilated it into her plans. "And you're going to get a chance to show it off to the rest of the Hero Course because your primary target at the start is going to be Agreste, and his Quirk isn't a good matchup for you. However, if I understand it correctly, he may not initially use it against you, but I will get into that in a moment."

"I'm here to prove myself so I'll take whoever." Mizosa said with a shrug. "So, what's the plan? Clearly you're the leader in the class, I noticed that from the moment I arrived. That's good, the last team this class put forward didn't really establish a leader from the start and paid for it."

"I am honored by the responsibility my class has put in me and I will do my best to live up to it." Kendo said. "And you are correct, the first team's biggest mistake was not deciding between Shiozaki and Shishida to lead them as they really needed to deal with the former's attitude. The remaining 3 teams have clear leaders and won't make that mistake, neither will we."

"That was a mistake, but we can't discount how much having Dupain-Cheng helped them." Kuroiro pointed out his tone now a lot softer as he was addressing Kendo mainly but not looking directly at her as his insecurities around girls flared up. "That girl truly lived up to her billing and then some."

"Yes, Marinette is a talent that we thankfully don't have to deal with, but she did show us what to do in a way." Kendo said looking around her team. "She showed us the need for strong leadership and a plan with contingencies."

"And you have that, shroom?" Komori asked, smiling as she was eager to battle and show off.

"I do and we've already sowed the first seeds there." Kendo said, she'd noticed the plans laid by Kuroiro and was going to go with them first. "Kuroiro, do you think that Tokoyami has fallen for your scheme?"

"I live up to my moniker." Kuroiro said with a grin that given his pitch-black skin looked unsettling with his bright white teeth though his tone was still soft. "Tokoyami thinks I am after him as we both walk the path of darkness and have stared in the abyss. While that is true, I was just getting in his head before the match began and ensuring he'd focus on me, but I have no qualms changing targets."

"Good, we will play into that from the start." Kendo said. "Do you think that you can take control of Dark Shadow? It is a black creature and one capable of movement, so it is possible for you to use Black on it, right?"

"I should be able to, yes." Kuroiro said with a nod. "So long as the darkness I am in is naturally capable of movement, like Dark Shadow, I should be able to control it. Therefore, if I get into Dark Shadow, I should be able to overpower it and turn it on Tokoyami and the others. That said, I cannot speak to how I'd fair dealing with someone like Agreste. His costume I can meld into as it's black, but his Quirk is something I don't know if I can affect."

"We'll address him later; I have a set plan to deal with him." Kendo said. "First off, all of us but Mizosa who will have his own mission will stay together and run as a group as we wait for Dark Shadow to find us. It's the best Quirk the other team has for long range scouting so Yaoyorozu will utilize Dark Shadow as such. When that happens, he'll engage us so we will set it up so that Kuroiro can take control of it and use it to get close to Class A and attack Tokoyami. However, just play into it, your real target is Aoyama."

"Aoyama?" Kuroiro asked. "Why him?"

"Because his Quirk allows for the most rapid scale light generation with the potential for destruction, and I am sure that if you can't best them with Dark Shadow that Yaoyorozu will order Aoyama to do that to control it." Kendo said. "And then we move into our next phase to counter her."

"Wait but what of Agreste." Fukidashi said. "His Quirk is pure destruction is it not? He's as much of a threat on that front I'd say."

"Yes but it isn't fast." Kendo said. "And he has limitations on the duration, it's similar to Marinette's in that regard and we will use that fact against him. All this is moot though as this is where Mizosa comes it."

"How so?" Mizosa asked.

"You are to find and occupy Agreste with combat for as long as possible." Kendo said. "He's the wildcard on their team as I know little about him or his battlefield mind. That said, he is Marinette's partner in more ways than romantic, and we know how good she is. As such, we need him distracted and out of the way while we focus on the other 4."

"And you think Yaoyorozu will allow for that?" Mizosa asked.

"Yes." Kendo said. "She clearly knows Agreste well, you all heard her use his first name earlier which really shows how close they are, so she'll know his skills. He's agile, flexible, and has heightened senses, the last I can personally attest to from the Summer Camp. Yaoyorozu will send him high and away from the others as a scout and a roving factor for us to deal with. We will cut that off at the head by engaging him at the start and as it is one on one he'll likely refrain from wasting what little time he has with his Quirk in a straight brawl. Well, that and it's clear he's trained in Quirkless combat so we can use that against him. Can you do that?"

"Sure, I'll do whatever I can to prove I deserve a spot in your class." Mizosa said. "Even take on someone who can challenge the likes of Bakugo."

"Good, we're counting on you to keep him occupied during the initial confrontation." Kendo said. "Because after Aoyama should Kuroiro fail, which is likely as it will be four on one, he will still have bought us enough time to move in with ranged attacks."

"That's me and Fukidashi, shroom." Komori said smiling. "My cute mushrooms will shine for all to see."

"What do you want me to do?" Fukidashi asked.

"First off, we start with Kinoko and her mushrooms." Kendo said. "Kuroiro will lure them in if it comes to it and as soon as they are in range Kinoko will distract them with her mushrooms by having them sprout on them, which will in the process show us Hagakure's body as she's their intel and stealth specialist, and cause confusion. Then, when you can Fukidashi, use your Quirk to create words that will serve as a wall between Yaoyorozu and the others. You're Quirk is strong and dense, even Cataclysm will have problems with it should Agreste be around."

"I can do that." Fukidashi said as Komori nodded her own agreement to her part.

"Good because once that has happened we'll have the upper hand because we will have split Yaoyorozu from them." Kendo said. "And I'll be on the other side of the wall waiting to take down Yaoyorozu and prove I'm better than her. I can best her in combat despite her strong Quirk so this is how we will set up that confrontation. With her gone we'll have cut the head off their team and that's how we win."

"And the others?" Kuroiro asked.

"Take Aoyama in the confusion with a mix of Fukidashi and Kuroiro's Quirks and pay attention to Tokoyami." Kendo said. "Kinoko, do you have anything that can down him?"

"I do but they aren't cute like my other mushrooms, shroom." Komori said with a slight pout. "But so long as Tokoyami is close enough to me and doesn't knock me out then I can do it."

"Good, then we just had to worry about Hagakure and Agreste." Kendo said. "So long as we can see the former's body she's easy to capture, she has limited offensive capabilities other than standard hand to hand combat. It's Agreste to worry about hence why he's the wildcard. We know that his Quirk is powerful but there are limitations to it. Mizosa will occupy him during the initial activity when we go for the other four to win without capturing Agreste. However, if we don't capture all of them then we regroup and adapt."

"We should have a plan for Agreste though." Komori pointed out. "The other team didn't really come up with a way to beat Dupain-Cheng other than speed or avoidance and it cost them. We should have something to deal with Agreste should the initial plan fail."

"He wears black." Kuroiro said. "I can probably use that to immobilize him, but I need to get close, and even then we will need to overwhelm him. Even with Komori's mushrooms, it will be hard."

"I can assist with them." Fukidashi said. "My Quirk will allow me to increase the humidity and Mizosa can control water which helps. From there it's just a matter of enough mushrooms."

"If it comes to it, all of us on him at once might do it." Kendo said. "He can't destroy organic material so he's bad against Kinoko who's Quirk is organic, so we just wear him down and hope his Quirkless combat isn't enough to deal with multiple opponents. I have the strength to knock him out but as I said, the main thing is for Mizosa to occupy him and for us to win elsewise. If you can do that, that will show your value. However, if something arises and Agreste takes off then leave him and regroup with the others to assist them, you can't match his speed and if he chooses to use Cataclysm on your water you'd be out of it in short order and thus useless."

"I'll do my best to keep him occupied." Mizosa said as Vlad called for the start of the second match with his usual Class B bias.

"Alright then into positions." Kendo said as she held out her fist and they all fist bumped together before they fanned out, or in Mizosa's case used his Quirk and support item to form arms of water to hoist him up to the top of a warehouse and begin to move over the rooftops and pipes. "We avenge our classmates now."

With that Kendo and her team set out. It was time to show Class A that they weren't as good as they thought they were and for Kendo to finally get even with Yaoyorozu and thus prove herself her own hero in her own right.

Adrien was listening to the reports from the coms device as he ran, Momo in her wisdom had made them pretty high tech so they picked up outside sounds as well as the speaker's voice, so he had a sense of what was going on. This was a good plan as he could do his own thing and keep abreast of the others thus allowing him to act accordingly as Momo had planned.

As expected, they'd started with Dark Shadow going out along the ground as the long range while Adrien ran along rooftops, pipes, and platforms leaping or using his staff to maintain the high ground. He could see Dark Shadow searching, it was impressive how far Tokoyami could send him these days and kept that in mind as he moved above and in front of the other 4, they were on the ground and limited by obstacles, but he wasn't, and he had the speed, so he'd be the forward attack the moment he had a location of the other team.

At least that was the plan as Dark Shadow located and engaged 4 of the other team by the chimneys that Adrien could see off to one side, so he began to head towards them. That was until he heard a commotion and a grunt from Tokoyami over the coms that caused Adrien to pull up on the rooftop he was on.

The sound wasn't good, and Adrien was about to call in to get some news and see if he was needed as he heard the crash of a body into something when his feline instincts picked up danger approaching him. Without thinking, he leapt up and to the side, spinning and twisting in the air to look like a ball of water shot past him having been on a crash course for his head a few seconds earlier.

"Too bad I missed, guess your reflexes are better than I expected." A voice said as Adrien landed and saw the General Studies kid, Mizosa if he recalled, approaching him on the rooftop, water in the form of two formless whips coming from the ends of his tubes and roiling lightly in the air as he moved. "Course that doesn't matter to me. I've got you now and you're going to stay put for a while."

Adrien sensed it again as the other boy spoke and leapt up in a backflip as the ball of water shot at his back, landing and extending his baton in a staff as the water reversed course in midair again and shot at him but he batted it to the side with his staff. It burst as it was blasted away, and he looked at the other kid.

"So, you're Quirk gives you some form of water manipulation or control." Adrien said as he heard the sounds of battle over the coms and realized that this was part of the plan to keep him preoccupied and not helping his team, something that Kendo had clearly learned from watching Marinette go the round before. "I…"

Adrien didn't finish his statement as the ball of water reformed in the air and shot directly into his side. It felt like a rock had hit him and Adrien rolled with it glad that his costume and enhanced constitution had protected him from serious damage, and instinctively calling up Cataclysm to bat the water away, destroying it in the process as it boiled on contact with his Quirk. All the molecules in the ball of water were destroyed though Adrien was so focused on landing on his feet that he didn't notice the flash of annoyance cross the Mizosa's face.

"You're smart for a brawler, I'll give you that." Mizosa said. "But I'm going to earn my spot in this course, so I'll do my job."

"Yes, you're here to keep me from helping the others and hopefully ensure a victory by catching the other 4 which I guess means that I'm the biggest threat to Kendo's plan, so I'm honored in that regard." Adrien said as he got his bearings and noted that it sounded like Aoyama, or maybe Hagakure as it was a rather high-pitched scream, had been captured by Kuroiro who'd been the one to start engaging his classmates, but it seemed that Tokoyami had some new trick and Momo was already giving a counter order. "Ah so it looks like Vantablack is a smart fighter with his Quirk, under Kendo's direction of course."

"We're ready for you lot and now I'll show off." Mizosa said as Adrien watched him shot water out of his tubes that had to be coming from the tank on his back. "You're Quirk is powerful and easy to use despite the limitations I've heard you have but I've trained hard to get this shot, I won't let it pass me up."

Adrien calmly watched, assessing the Quirk the other boy had, as he manipulated the water to form a rough circle around both of them before it rose up into a water wall that seemed impossibly thin but held there as the boy stepped forward so that they were completely enclosed and the last of his water was formed into two batons from his tubes. It was certainly and interesting Quirk and Adrien extended his staff even more so as to slap the sides of the water only for it to rebound off as if the water was solid, but he could tell that it wasn't.

"Intriguing." Adrien said as he shortened his staff to optimal length for this battle and twirled it as he began to circle the other boy who was doing the same, his whole body coiled showing Adrien that he had some skills at weapon-based combat. "There's more at play than just water manipulation, it's too complex for something so trivial and your usage of it tells me that it's got some form of limitation that prevents you from going full hydromancer on me. No, this Quirk of yours is deeper than mere water manipulation, you're affecting the very core of the water itself."

"The Hero Course here certainly doesn't disappoint." Mizosa said and Adrien knew that he was onto something. "Correct, I'm not controlling the water as a whole but rather it's molecules. I bend them to my will and thus the water in general is bent to what I see fit."

"Ah so that's how you're able to make a liquid act like a solid." Adrien said understanding what he was against, it would be easy to counter it, but he didn't want to waste his energy just yet, not when he didn't need Cataclysm to win or flee at the moment. "It's a strong Quirk but took a lot of control to master, I know the feeling better than you'd think but against me it won't work. Still, you've come for a fight, and I have a feeling I'm going to need to preserve Cataclysm for later, so I'll give you a little test with those batons of yours and best you quick, my team does need my assistance after all."

With that Adrien charged, spinning his staff fast and using his speed and reflexes to unleash a flurry of blows on the General Studies kid before he could speak back to him and continue his delay tactics that Kendo had clearly told him to do. Adrien had to admit, the kid was good, he was able to block a good few and used his Quirk to reform water around himself as shields to intercept strikes he couldn't block with the water batons, but he was on the defensive as Adrien pushed him. Adrien had to, he could hear the combat going on and he had to help his team out, so he pressed forward hoping to end this quick.

It appeared that the engagement had started with Kuroiro using his Black Quirk to take control of Dark Shadow and turn it on Tokoyami but thanks to Momo's quick thinking they used a mix of recalling Dark Shadow and Hagakure's Warp Refraction to force Kuroiro out of Dark Shadow but with his ability to meld into darkness he escaped despite Momo catching him in a net as it was in the shadows. Then he taunted Tokoyami before revealing his true target as Aoyama by capturing him and showing how much of a schemer her was while Adrien was being delayed before his duel began.

Adrien really wanted to help but this guy's close combat was solid, and he still felt that he needed to save Cataclysm for later so he focused and trusted Momo and the others to defeat Class B's attack. That was shown when she had Aoyama used Navel Buffet after a flying Tokoyami, Adrien would have to learn how he did that, rescued him which created enough light to force Kuroiro out and corner him though her cheesy line about expecting the unexpected was a bit much. It also turned moot when suddenly Adrien was hearing reports of mushrooms sprouting everywhere.

"So, Komori is as dangerous as Marinette once expected." Adrien said as he twirled and lashed his staff but the fluidity of water and Mizosa's ability to manipulate its molecules kept producing shields that were strong enough to block his staff though it was clear he couldn't do more than defense. "Come on guys, deal with it."

Adrien knew that they would if they had a moment, but the mushrooms were clearly an issue, especially for Hagakure as they were showing her body, and Adrien was still dealing with a really solid defense that was getting more and more likely that he'd need Cataclysm to overcome it. At least he was thinking that when suddenly there was a crash the distracted both of them.

Even from where Adrien was, he could see the rising dust from the move and then there was another crash right next to it. He couldn't even begin to figure it out until the reports came in over the coms. Of all things, words made of a solid material had appeared and separated Momo from the others and the wall was thick, Navel Laser couldn't cut it. So, this was Fukidashi's Comic Quirk in action, it was certainly something else.

"Fukidashi, you're more of a trouble than I expected, no wonder you're a ranged specialist." Adrien said as he resumed his assault on Mizosa's defenses while the General Studies boy grinned as he continued to hold Adrien at bay. "This team is well balanced and led by someone who's smart on the battlefield, but they've separated Momo, all she needs is a moment and we will win."

"I doubt that Kendo has a plan for this as well." Mizosa taunted as Adrien heard reports that Fukidashi was somehow increasing the humidity thus increasing the mushrooms and somehow able to knock Tokoyami out of the air which ensured that Aoyama was now caught, and it didn't sound like he'd be rescued this time around. "We're going to win and all you can do is listen it seems."

"If you think that then you've already lost." Adrien said as he heard Kendo engage Momo in battle, her fists strong enough to crumple a tungsten shield it seemed. "We will still win regardless of what happens."

Adrien then focused on his attack as he began to push Mizosa to the edge of his water wall while listening to what was going on with the rest of his team. Under his mask he grinned as he heard Momo endure a barrage of punches with some shields long enough to form a large canon, seriously that girl had a thing for those weapons that was a little unhealthy it seemed, and used it to distract Kendo.

That was just what Adrien had expected and he heard the shot of the canon but not the sound of the wall of words being destroyed which meant that Momo had anticipated her defeat, in a brawl against Kendo she was no match, and had countered it. Then Adrien heard what he'd been waiting for the moment that Momo was separated from the rest of the team.

"Chat Noir, je suis foutu. Je l'ai ralentie, viens la vaincre et prends les choses en main. Activons leur stratégie…"

"God damn it, since when can she speak French?" Kendo's now strained voice suddenly said over the com as Momo's cut off showing that she had been knocked out. "That's not good and to top it off she's lashed me to her and attached herself to this damned canon. This isn't going to be easy, but I'll do it, gotta rescue Fukidashi from Hagakure and then get both of them to prison before Agreste finds me. The other two know how to handle Tokoyami."

"Too late." Adrien said with a grin as he feinted forward to force Mizosa back a step before leaping high and back with a flip. "So sorry, gotta go but I'll finish this soon enough. You've given me some things to think of though and I look forward to using them against you."

With that Adrien extended his staff down to slam it into the roof they were on and continue his vault up so that he cleared the water wall and turned, shortening his staff back to optimal length and spinning it to allow him to hover briefly before he landed on a pipe and ran away. Momo had given him an opening, so he'd leave the General Studies student for now and find her and the others to help them win.

With that in mind, Adrien pulled out the tracker and saw two dots, one moving fast to one side and one moving really slowly near where the wall was. Grinning at Momo's clear planning ahead, Adrien took off to the later ready to help out.

"She could have at least left the damned canon." Kendo said with a pant as she held a struggling, naked, Hagakure in her right hand while ropes attached her to Momo who was also still attached to her damned canon but unconscious while Fukidashi took a moment to get himself following the sudden, invisible, assault he'd taken from Hagakure that Kendo had just saved him from. "That entire battle, she was thinking several steps ahead of me. She may be unconscious, and we have the edge in this battle, but I don't feel like I won."

"Maybe because you haven't won, Momo already anticipated this as a potential outcome and had a plan for it should it come to pass." A new voice said a Kendo turned her head, her eyes wide as Adrien Agreste flipped down and landed on the canon in a crouch with the grace and balance of a cat. "Good plan there Battle Fist, even managed to keep me from helping until I was truly needed, but you've lost this battle because you went after the wrong threat. You were blinded by your own self-imposed rivalry with Momo and as such this round goes to us."

"Damn it!" Kendo yelled as Hagakure thrashed in her hand helping keep her this. "Fukidashi, run!"

Fukidashi didn't need to be told twice as he turned and fled to try and regroup with the others so that they could come up with a plan to counter the sudden shift in the battle. It was clear that they'd lost this part so hopefully the others had a plan. As for Kendo, all she had time to do was curse once more before Adrien pivoted from his crouch and kicked her in the side of the head with a controlled kick that knocked her clean out and causing her to drop Hagakure.

Adrien flipped up and off the canon, spinning in the air to land facing a now limp Kendo who was still roped to Momo which resulted in a strange scene to say the least. He'd hurried here as fast as possible, taking a slightly circuitous route to ensure he didn't cross Komori and her mushrooms on the way, and leapt down in time to ensure that he could defeat Kendo and ensure that at least one of his teammates was still active with him. Hagakure was here, he could smell her, but she was completely naked now for some reason.

"Hagakure, status report." Adrien said as he activated Cataclysm in his right hand and slashed it over the ropes, focusing on just them so as to not destroy the girls' close but separate Kendo and Momo before he deactivated it again and activated his recharge timer as he knew he'd need it because from this point on he'd need to use Cataclysm a fair bit to win this. "Sorry for not being here sooner, that General Studies kid's Quirk is impressive, and he held my attention too long, my mistake for getting drawn into that battle and not fleeing when I realized I couldn't beat him without Cataclysm."

"No, I'm glad you're here." Toru said as she caught her breath while Adrien caught Kendo's body before it hit the ground and laid it down before turning to Momo and noticing that she hand created several straps on her thighs to hold a set of special manacles for Kendo, four more normal sets that were clearly meant for the rest of their opponents, what looked like a specialized gag that had to be for Fukidashi, a bottle of chemical fungal disinfectant, and a note to Adrien in French telling him to take it all and win this. "You saved me. I thought I had Fukidashi, but Kendo grabbed me, and I couldn't break free from her, she's really strong when she's got her Quirk active."

"Kendo's skills are clearly good, but our advantage is that they've underestimated me and tried to distract me rather than make an actual plan to incapacitate me right away." Adrien said as he took the things off Momo and shackled Kendo with the special shackles before putting the shackles and gag on his belt and beginning to fully disinfect himself as he turned to where Hagakure was and finally noted that she was no longer covered in mushrooms. "I take it that Momo shot some sort of swag bag to you and Tokoyami to counter what was going on."

"Yeah it was unexpected." Toru said. "But needed as it had disinfectant, one that didn't sting my sensitive areas which was nice, and special thermal goggles for Tokoyami though there was something else on the goggles."

"A tracker, I noticed a second appear." Adrien said as he finished leaving just his soles free for the moment, but he had a plan for that as he suddenly heard a hacking in the other side of the coms and Komori's voice gleefully talking of a fungus that affected the lungs showing that Tokoyami was getting defeated, so he spoke as much for Tokoyami as he did for Hagakure. "The scanner Momo gave me has two readings on it and I bet the other one is wherever the goggles are. If Tokoyami has trouble, he should drop them and his com device if possible, and I'll use it to find Komori and probably Kuroiro as well."

"Oh, that's a good idea." Toru said as Adrien heard a coughing confirmation from Tokoyami followed by what sounded like the arrival of Fukidashi and Mizosa and the dropping of a few items as Tokoyami seemed to fall to his knees and surrendered to the four opponents that had surrounded him. "So, what's the plan?"

"We can't move Momo but with Kendo bested and Momo still fused to her canon that's fine as they've got no one who can move Momo now." Adrien said as he turned and found Momo's earpiece, took it out and held out his hand in Hagakure's direction, she wasn't wearing her gloves or boots, so she was completely naked now which Adrien had to not think of. "Take this and find the tracker on Momo's body then use your stealth skills to located their base but don't engage them."

"I can do that; stealth is my specialty." Toru said taking the com device out of Adrien's hand and putting it in her ear. "What about you?"

"Right now I can hear their attempts at what to do now that Kendo is out of the picture." Adrien said as he heard the four discussing what to do. "They've caught Aoyama and Tokoyami has surrendered so Mizosa and Fukidashi are going to take him to prison but Komori and Kuroiro are staying where they are and decide what to do next as Kuroiro is the best scout but seems to be delaying going out to find us for some reason. Go find their base and then wait there for me, I'll take Kendo to prison and then surprise the two troublemakers to ensure we can take the lead at the very least. Don't engage until I'm there."

"On it." Toru said, Marinette trusted her man so Toru knew she could as well. "We will still win this."

"Oh, we will and we're using their own tactic against them as they are disorganized without Kendo's leadership." Adrien said as he hefted Kendo over his shoulder. "Now head off, let's show them why our class is the best."

Toru nodded, not that Adrien could tell, and then headed off to go and deal find the base. Adrien just turned, hating to leave a teammate behind but he had to as it was the best thing to do right now, and ran off as fast as he could to Kendo to prison. They were still in this, and they'd win, he knew it.

"What the…" Monoma began, his rant about how they shouldn't take Komori lightly and should have knocked her out cut short by the sudden arrival of Agreste and subsequent defeat of Kendo. "When did that happen?"

As with the first battle, the members of both classes not involved in the match at hand, along with Shinso who was now fully healed and with the next team he'd be part of, had rated and discussed the battle up to this point. There would be time for those in the first match to discuss it more later and they did after what had happened, but the other matches came first.

Class B had been really excited for this battle as Kendo was the best leader they had, she was their class rep and effectively the big sister of the class who held the most trust and leadership in her class. They were confident in her plans for this battle and naturally Monoma was his usual self because of it, and he extended it to the rest of his class in the match.

Those in Class A had to admit, it wasn't a great start for them as they were all surprised by Kuroiro's Quirk and his control over it but then he added to it all by taunting Tokoyami before going after Aoyama instead, living up to his moniker as the Scheming Hero: Vantablack. It was a clever bit of deception and seemed to work at first, though Shiozaki condemned it while praying, her voice a little off as she still had a caste over her now healed nose thanks to the headbutt she'd taken from Marinette in the first match.

Then the tables were turned, and they were all shocked to say that least when Tokoyami revealed that he'd learned how to fly. Naturally Izuku was the first to deduce how it was done and explain it to the rest in his usual enthusiastic manner, but it now looked like Class A had gained the upper hand. That was until Komori and Fukidashi got into the fight.

Their long-range attacks caused disruption and thanks to some impressive power displayed by Fukidashi they were able to separate Momo from the rest and pit her against Kendo in a battle that favored Kendo, something that got a lot of loud praise from Tetsutetsu. In the process, the three other Class B members were able to work together to separate Aoyama from Tokoyami and capture the former.

However, despite their clear confidence, it was Todoroki who brought them back to reality by pointing out that Momo wasn't out of the battle yet, so Class A were still in it while she still fought. He showed his faith in his classmate by praising her own skills as she fought Kendo and that this was just the battle she excelled in so even if she went down then she'd win. He was vindicated with Momo's canon and her lucky bag that she sent to Tokoyami and Hagakure as she was beaten but the big thing was when they heard her suddenly speak French right before she was knocked out.

"So, she's even more prepared than even I expected." Todoroki said at that as they watched and finally realized the full plan and that Yaoyorozu was one of the few in the class who'd seen the truth of one of their classmates and was now using it to the fullest. "This match is over now, we've won."

That really got to Monoma, but he didn't speak until Komori turned the tables on Tokoyami after he appeared to capture her and Kuroiro and spoke of how she may not seem to be battle orientated, but she was scary in battle because of her Quirk's versatility. That had gotten Monoma back into it, furthered by Kendo's actions to capture Hagakure as well which made it look like they'd win this match, until the moment Agreste arrived.

That was because all this while, most hadn't noticed Adrien's battle with the Class D kid who had joined them other than to note it and how the boy had an interesting looking Quirk that had to be more than it looked for him to get this tryout. That much was confirmed when Agreste deduced it and it was all confirmed, but most didn't pay attention to that battle as it wasn't the main one and those in Class A knew that when it came to it Agreste could get away or win quickly but as Marinette pointed out at the start he wasn't using Cataclysm because he had to conserve his Quirk just in case.

That seemed to be the right decision as he fled the moment that Momo called out in to French which showed that she'd made some form of coms equipment for the team but none of them really noticed that he'd gone straight to her, though Marinette did know that Momo had asked for that and placed Adrien in charge as she was defeated but opted not to translate it at the moment, until he arrived. The moment he did it was clear that the momentum had shifted back to Class A because in moments Kendo was beaten.

"Kendo made a critical mistake at the very start of this battle." Todoroki said calmly as they watched Adrien and Toru chat and ensure that Kendo was captured. "She was too fixated on her rivalry with Yaoyorozu because of how most lump them together thanks to that commercial they were in. That led her to underestimate the true threat in this match."

"What do you mean?" Monoma said his eyebrow twitching as he watched the team he was certain would win begin to fall apart.

"In this match, Yaoyorozu may be the leader on paper, and it certainly looked like that at the start but she's too smart to not understand and foresee that she might lose, especially if she ended up in a brawl with Kendo, so had a plan for that because she also knows the truth here." Todoroki said. "The real leader for our class in this match, the real driving force who will win this for us isn't Yaoyorozu, it's Adrien Agreste."

That got all of Class B present to turn and look at Todoroki who looked back at them and then turned to look to Dupain-Cheng. If anyone could truly confirm this it was her, but her bias was well known to all at this point, so he looked to her, and she met his gaze before nodding that he should continue. Marinette knew that this would be better coming from Todoroki. As this was happening, Aizawa just watched his class out of the corner of his eye pleased that at least a few had gotten what was going on in this battle

"Remember at the Summer Camp." Todoroki said looking back to the members of Class B who were shocked by the sudden shift and Todoroki's claim. "Adrien was the only one who saved us when things got out of hand when we were deciding which meat we'd get and I'm sure one or two of you would have crossed his path in the test of courage."

"I'll give you that." Honenuki said. "Agreste certainly showed his talents there, that I can't deny, but he never came off as the leadership type either. Even when he did well in the Sports Festival, he was carried either by his raw power or Dupain-Cheng before he lost to Bakugo in the quarterfinal."

"But not until he gave Bakugo a challenge." Todoroki said and Bakugo grunted at that, it had been a good challenge to overcome and show that he was the best, but he'd done it as he knew he would. "And you lot only really saw us at the Sports Festival and Summer Camp, and neither are where Adrien showed his true abilities. Both of which he was overshadowed by others and as he's one of a pair, if the other shows off more then who will you take notice of?"

"Dupain-Cheng, just like Honenuki said." Setsuna Tokage said simply. "We all took notice of her after the Cavalry Battle where she showed how well she can manage a battlefield and then the way she blew through the bracket with quick, decisive wins over Kaminari and Ida got our attention. Even her battle with you, Todoroki, that was epic, and she almost beat you. From there we've seen her go from strength to strength and after the first match none of us doubts her reputation anymore."

"Exactly and while it is true that in our class it is safe to say that Dupain-Cheng is our top combatant." Todoroki said causing Bakugo to growl in annoyance at that but no one else really questioned the assessment. "And I'll admit, she should have beaten me at the Sports Festival, she would have had she not spat in my face, but she's always maintained that Adrien is her equal."

"Wait what?" Monoma asked as they watched Adrien haul an unconscious Kendo off to prison.

"Adrien Agreste is as talented as the best in our class, he just doesn't often have the chance to show it but those of us who know it know it well." Todoroki said watching the screen. "Yaoyorozu did a work study with him, so she knows his talents though her knowing enough French to communicate with him is a surprise, and I know from first hand experience how good he is. I've watched him face off against foes who I couldn't best alone on his own and hold them off better than I could because of his talents. He even went toe to toe with Gang Orca in our licensing exam without his Quirk because he knew he could handle it and gave me clarity at the time."

"But you and Bakugo failed that." Monoma pointed out. "While all of our class passed the exam."

"We did and by that point I'd already failed because of my actions, actions Adrien told me to avoid during the break, but I didn't heed his warning." Todoroki said and now all were taking note of his use of Adrien's first name which added to what he was saying. "However, seeing him give it his all there, I knew I had to try, and I knew he could handle it, which is why I, along with Yoarashi, combined our Quirks to trap Gang Orca in an inferno of wind and flames with Adrien who kept fighting from within."

"Come again?" Awase asked, he was the only Class B student who'd ever experienced Agreste's strength first hand before today so he knew a little better than the others but that sounded a bit much. "You trapped Agreste with Gang Orca in what sounds like a tornado of flames? There aren't many who can handle something like that."

"True but Adrien is one of the few who can which is why I didn't hesitate to do so because I knew he could endure it." Todoroki said. "Even after Gang Orca broke free, he was still standing and had allowed the time needed for Dupain-Cheng and Midoriya to get there so that between the three of them they could actually restrain Gang Orca and would have had the exam not ended. Afterwards, he had some more words for me that I took to heart to help overcome my own issues."

"Same here." Ida said with a nod. "When I needed it the most, Agreste was the one who told me what I needed to hear. He saved me when I didn't realize it and ever since then I've known that he's one of the strongest in our class."

"He's one of the most manly in the class as well." Kirishima said with a grin as Adrien dropped Kendo off in the prison and pulled out the device he'd used to find Yaoyorozu and looked at it. "He's second academically and arguably the experienced beyond all of us except Dupain-Cheng so I know that they're equals."

"Agreste will win this." Izuku said as he fully assessed everything. "Kendo's plan was to cut off our head with Yaoyorozu, but it's backfired on her because Yaoyorozu turned that plan on its head and now Class B doesn't have their leader, but we still do. Agreste has a plan, I can tell, and he's barely used his Quirk which means he's saving it for a specific moment. I still barely understand how Cataclysm works but I know how strong it is and we've yet to see Agreste use it the way I know he can use it."

"So just watch." Todoroki said as Adrien put away the device and headed off to the area where Kuroiro and Komori were. "Because this has only just started."

All of Class B could do now was watch as the match began to shift against them, eyes wide as Adrien got into position for what was to come. They'd underestimated this team because of the focus on Yaoyorozu as the leader and Tokoyami as the perceived strongest in combat and now they'd pay for it as the real threat to them revealed himself.

"Hey Komori, should, should we try and find out where they are?" Kuroiro asked, his shyness and self confidence around girls, especially Komori, coming up so he wasn't looking at her as they crouched in the twisting pipes of the dense, dark, area they'd been in when Tokoyami had found them. "Fukidashi did say that Kendo was bested by Agreste. That means that he and Hagakure are still out there."

"Shroom, that is probably a good idea." Komori said causing more issues for Kuroiro with her praise of him, the second time as she'd praised him for putting Aoyama in prison, though as she didn't know he was crushing on her she didn't realize. "You can travel fast in the shadows and of any of us, you've got the best combat against Agreste with his black suit, especially if he's disinfected against my adorable fungus like the others were. We just need him close enough and I can get him like Tokoyami."

All that was left of Tokoyami was his cloak that he'd used to capture Kuroiro by turning Kuroiro's own Quirk against him and the goggles that in his frustration he'd ripped off his neck as he fell to his knees hacking from Komori's counter attack. What neither of them had notice was that Tokoyami had used that moment to remove his com device at the same time and hide it under his cloak as the fungus in his lungs caused him to surrender.

As this was happening, Fukidashi had come to them to inform them that Agreste had either beaten Mizosa or fled the fight with him and found them somehow. He'd gone on to say that Kendo's predicament, holding Hagakure while tied to Momo who herself was still fused to her canon, meant that she couldn't escape so it was safe to presume she'd been beaten by Agreste as she had no way to defend herself against him.

That wasn't good and disrupted their team as there was no plan for Kendo's defeat, she'd been their leader and they were a little lost without her plans as none of them were good at leadership like she was. Thankfully they still had all 4 of them as Mizosa arrived a bit later, told them Agreste had fled so he'd recalled his water and come to find them. Between him and Fukidashi, they were able to restrain Tokoyami and take him to the prison. A hasty plan had been for them to go there and hold it while Komori and Kuroiro stayed as the front guards deciding what their next step was.

"We could also just wait them out." Kuroiro said. "We have a two to one lead."

"Shroom, that won't work." Komori said shaking her head. "They'll find us before the time limit ends, Agreste's senses are apparently above human normal, and none of us have the combat to best Agreste in the open should that happen. We've got to use your scheming and Quirk to force him to me and then I can incapacitate him, that's how we beat him. The same will work on Hagakure if she shows up so we'll win this by capturing them as there's no way we can move Yaoyorozu if she's still fused to her canon."

"True." Kuroiro said. "If we can stop Agreste, then…"

"Then what?" Komori aske looking to Kuroiro who was half in and half out of a shadow so that he could move quickly and had suddenly stiffened, turning to look to the darkness from where Tokoyami had first come from. "Kuroiro?"

"Sorry but I think we've got an issue." Kuroiro said as he suddenly leapt out of the wall and landed in a crouch on the ground. "The shadows, they won't…"

Before he could finish both of them saw cracks appear over the pipes and walls around them, cracks that seemed to extend past them and continue as they turned to watch them move but they never appeared in the ground they were standing on. With the gloom around them they couldn't see much but they could tell that the cracks were all over the walls and pipes in front and behind them, continuing to go further and further behind them as they climbed to the sky while the space between the cracks began to turn brown as if rusting really fast.

"Shroom?" Komori asked "What's…"

"Cataclysm!" Kuroiro yelled his eyes wide as finally recognized the discoloring as what he'd seen on that fused pillow they'd made back during the Summer Camp only seconds before all the pipes, building, and ground around them that were covered in cracks shattered and fell away, disintegrating to dust around them as they were destroyed on a molecular level. "Holy shit, we've completely underestimated how strong his Quirk is."

All Komori could do was stare wide eyed, both eyes visible in shock, as a large swath of Field Gamma, a pretty neat square, was suddenly destroyed and turned to dust before their eyes. The sun suddenly beat down on them, weak in the winter but bright, allowing for no shadows as they looked around to see nothing but the cracked ground around them, a few inches below their position as the only things unaffected were a circle around them and a path leading towards their location. All the structures in a solid 20 by 20 square foot square area around them were no more, it was just dust on the wind completely exposing them.

"I'll admit, this is even straining my skills, but limits are made to be surpassed at U.A. and I need to go plus ultra to beat you two." A slightly metallic voice said causing them to turn and look down the path as the figure of Adrien Agreste walked out of the shadows from the undamaged part before them and along the path, his arms wide as he continued to control his Quirk though his brow, the only thing they could see, was furled in concentration. "But I needed to ensure that Vantablack couldn't flee in time and don't try anything Shemage, all the surfaces but the one between us have Cataclysm infused into them for a few inches so your spores can't take hold as it's just dust there."

"You're covered in disinfectant, aren't you." Komori said as she looked at the Class A student slowly walking towards them, stepping on and destroying mushrooms as he did and any spore that landed on him was destroyed the second it did. "Well, that may work but I've got one more…"

"That lung one, right, a microscopic fungus that can incapacitate like you did with Tokoyami." Adrien said interrupting her as he pointed to his special mask. "Yes, I heard of it thanks to our own preparations, but it won't work on me. You see, after that gas villain took me out at the Summer Camp because I sacrificed myself for my love, which she didn't like, I had this mask made so that I wouldn't have to again. It doesn't just help me rapidly recharged so I can keep this level of destruction up, but it also filters out any harmful pathogens from reaching my lungs, pathogens like, say, a deadly fungus. You're a scary opponent Shemage, stronger than you seem, but I'm ready for you."

"You may have cornered us, but you won't win." Kuroiro said while Komori looked shocked at the revelation. "I can meld with blackness and your Quirk is a black energy, Cat Noir, so I have the upper hand on you. Plus, it's a mobile blackness so I can command it when I merge with it."

"Yes, do try." Adrien said as he forced several black pillars of pure destruction to erupt from the still disintegrating ground around them before letting them fall as he only had the strength to show it off, he had to keep it at the surface level or else he'd run out of stamina. "You may be able to enter the energy of Cataclysm, but your clothes will be destroyed, and it will probably just end as the only thing keeping it active is my will right now."

"I can still try." Kuroiro said fighting his embarrassment at that potential and repressing a shudder at just how dark Agreste truly was. "A hero must always try."

"True but when you fail at that, then what Vantablack?" Adrien asked simply. "Can you reach me before I deactivate my costume and while you're probably naked if you tried to enter Cataclysm? Can you best me in hand-to-hand combat? I don't think so. You're a smart one, a schemer who planted the seeds with Tokoyami that worked but I'm a different creature entirely. Tokoyami knows that but clearly you've not yet realized who the true master of the abyss is here."

"No, you're not like us." Kuroiro said. "You know more of the abyss than we do."

"Yes, you merely traverse it, I have been forged by it in ways you'd never understand." Adrien said as he held out his right hand as he moved his left behind his back, using the dramatic speech that few would truly understand, mainly just Marinette, to distract Kuroiro. "I have emerged from the abyss from which I was made and made it my own. I bend it to my will because I no longer fear it, I embrace it in ways you can only dream of."

"You won't…" Kuroiro began.

"I'm also just as much a schemer as you are." Adrien said as his baton suddenly extended from his left hand as he held it to his side after drawing it while speaking and it crossed the distance between the to slam into Kuroiro's forehead with enough force to knock out any human who didn't have enhanced durability. "A little sleight of hand there for you, best to keep you asleep for now as I need to take care of both of you so containing you in darkness isn't going to be easy."

Kuroiro just grunted at the impact before he fell back and hit the ground hard. The last thing that he though before the blackness overtook him was that they'd seriously underestimated Agreste in this battle and for that they were going to pay.

"Kuroiro." Komori said her eyes wide as she looked from him to the approaching Agreste.

"You can surrender now or run." Adrien said calmly, his plan to deal with these two having gone off well as his staff return to baton size and he placed it behind his back without breaking stride. "Either way, you've lost this Shemage."

"No, I'll get the others." Komori said as she turned to leap off the now decent sized ledge that had been created and run planning on creating a forest of cute fungus to keep Agreste at bay as he couldn't destroy her mushrooms with his Quirk. "No one can…"

The moment Komori had turned Adrien had lowered himself and charged forward as fast as he could at her. Then, as she leapt into the air, he lunged forward with a near horizontal leap, his greater speed and strength easily closing the gap between them before Komori even began to fall. Thus, he slammed his shoulder into her back as she spoke, arching her back from the impact and causing her to gasp in pain and for her toadstool style hat to fly off.

Adrien wasn't done there however as he used the impact to reorientate his body and drive his left knee into her back while grabbing her head in his left hand and yanking it back while they were still in the air. All this ensured that her head was held back as Komori slammed chest first into the ground, dust exploding from the impact as the passed through the layer destroyed by Cataclysm to the hard ground beneath it as Adrien had ended his Quirk by now and was recharging as fast as he could his mask active in that regard.

Komori let out a wail as she was pined between the ground and Agreste's knee as they skidded over it for a few feet on her chest, which really hurt, before finally coming to a stop as Adrien slammed his right foot into the ground to end their slide. He then pressed Komori's head into the ground, knee still in her back, as he pinned her there to show that he'd bested her.

"Usually, I'd ask for a surrender." Adrien said looking down at Komori who just glared up at him despite the pain she was in, anger in her eyes which were interesting in their own right with the odd x-shaped pupils she had. "But you're too strong to ask that, you showed that with Tokoyami so best to render you unconscious as well."

Adrien didn't give Komori a moment process that as he let go of her head and copped her in the neck in a smooth motion similar to how Kendo stopped Monoma to knock her out with the move. Komori's eyes rolled back and her last thought as she faded into unconsciousness was that this was not how the plan was meant to go.

With a sigh, Adrien rose from Komori's unconscious body, tossed her support items to the side as he didn't want her to have access to them though he wasn't sure what they did as he'd not seen her use them, and yanked her arms behind her back as gently as he could. Then he pulled off a pair of shackles that Momo had made for him from his belt and cuffed Komori's wrists behind her back before he hefted her body up and over his shoulder before he turned to head to deal with Kuroiro.

While cuffing the silver haired boy wouldn't have the same effect, he could free himself by melding into anything black, it would at least cause some commotion should Kuroiro come to before Adrien got him to the prison that would allow him to act in time to knock the other boy out again. Naturally, Adrien didn't intend for that to happen as he hefted Kuroiro over his other shoulder and took off to the prison.

"Hagakure, everything went off as planned." Adrien said as he moved knowing that she'd heard everything thanks to the com device she'd taken from Momo but giving her a full update and the next orders to follow. "Back up to a place where they can't hear you, I'll be there as soon as I drop these two off in prison. We're not losing this."

With that Adrien kept up his run to the prison to take the lead. He'd planned to use Cataclysmic Wave to destroy a large swath of the area around Kuroiro and Komori the moment he'd found them. From there it was just a matter of distracting them long enough to render Kuroiro unconscious and Adrien knew that he had them as there was nothing that Komori could do to best him with his mask.

It had worked and now they were going to be up three to two in this match, but he'd not rest until they won it out right and he fully intended on doing that. It was time for the final assault, and he already had a plan forming as he hurried to drop off his prisoners and meet up with Hagakure.

Even Aizawa and Vlad were wide eyed as they stared at the swath of Field Gamma that was reduced to nothing but dust with just a path between Agreste and the two Class B members and that included at least one camera. As such they'd been visionless for a moment before another one caught the aftermath of the move.

They both knew of Agreste's talents and ability for destruction, but this was on a level of control neither had expected and ensured a new area was needed. Between Fukidashi's wall, Komori's mushrooms which wouldn't disappear for 2 to 3 hours, and now Agreste's Cataclysm this part would need to be fully reconstructed after today.

Meanwhile, Mage was dealing with frantic call from Fei through a communicator she had in her ear before she transformed so it was with her in mantis for as she'd apparently been in the area when the destruction began and scurried away as fast as she could while asking just what the hell was going on. He simply ignored her, it wasn't an emergency so he didn't need to worry and let things playout, he'd tell her all later.

As for the members of Class A, B, and Shinso, almost all were gaping at what they'd seen. Sure, they knew that Adrien could wreak mass destruction when he wanted to, he'd shown that during the licensing exam, but this was so controlled that only those who'd seen him in the Hassaikai raid really understood that he could do this. Even then, this was more than expected. He'd really upped his game.

No one spoke, though Izuku did make notes, as Adrien destroyed the section of Field Gamma around Komori and Kuroiro and then engaged them. He was a little more archaic than usual, though Marinette knew the abyss Adrien was referring to was real as it was a reference to them being stuck outside the timeline for 230 years, but it was soon clear that he was doing it to ensure victory and distract the other two, which was confirm a moment later when he downed Kuroiro from afar.

After that it was only a few moments before he also bested Komori in a rather brutal fashion to most but did remind them that gender didn't matter in the field so why should it now. He had a way to counter even her lung fungus so she was done for as she couldn't hope to oppose him in pure combat, but he didn't let up and showed how much of a threat he considered her to be by knocking her out cold. Then he restrained her and Kuroiro using items Momo had made and took them to prison.

It had only taken a few moments, less than 180 seconds or so in the grand scale of the match, but in that moment Adrien had almost single handedly turned the tables on Class B and put Class A into the lead just as Todoroki had predicted. He'd shown Class B that he was someone to be taken seriously with this and all they could do was continue to watch as he called into Hagakure, who now they noticed was in position to spy on the other two remaining, and end this. Class A just sat back to enjoy watching the final confrontation of the second match while all Class B could do was watch it unfold before them.

"Hagakure, what's the status of the remaining two?" Adrien asked as he reached Toru's hiding spot that was near enough to keep an eye on Fukidashi and Mizosa but far enough to not be noticed or overheard by them. "Any movement?"

"They're nervous and have been debating what to do but I'm too far to hear now." Toru said looking at Agreste and glad that his senses enabled him to at least look in her direction when she was completely naked though the floating coms device did help. "Neither are natural leaders or planners, so they're thrown without Kendo and I they clearly don't know that Kuroiro and Komori have been beaten as well."

"That was the plan." Adrien said. "Kendo wanted to do that to us by besting Momo, but it's backfired because I can lead just fine when need be, but Kendo never had a backup should she fall."

"Yeah Yao-Momo was right about you." Toru said. "You've really caried us now after she fell."

"It was a team effort." Adrien said. "Had Tokoyami not dropped the goggles and coms I wouldn't have known where to go in time to take care of the other two before they figured out a plan to at least hinder us."

"Well, we've now won even if the time runs out." Toru said. "Because those two can't beat us two nor can they move Yao-Momo."

"I want to win this properly so we're going to take down these two and imprison all 5 so no one can question this win." Adrien said as the last of his protein was distributed. "It won't be too hard. I've got the energy to fight with Cataclysm though with my other match later I'm going to be well past my limit by the end of the day so I'll deal with Mizosa, can you handle Fukidashi?"

"With ease." Toru said nodding, the coms device still in her ear showing this. "His specialty is long range, get me close and I'll knock him out this time. I was interrupted before; I want to beat him properly now."

"Alright then we'll come in from above and surprise them." Adrien said. "But, um, there is one issue with this plan."

"What?" Toru asked confused.

"Um, to do so I'm going to have to carry you and then toss you at Fukidashi when I land as that's the fastest way to surprise them." Adrien said. "And, well, you're, you know…"

"Oh…" Toru said going bright red as she realized the issue though of course Adrien didn't see that. "Th, thank you for being respectful on that. I really don't want to piss off Marinette, so it is best we figure this out right."

"So, er, how will we do this?" Adrien asked.

"Here hold out your left-hand palm flat and up." Toru said as she figured it out in a way that hopefully didn't earn her Marinette's ire and Adrien did that. "Right don't move."

With that Toru turned around and backed into Agreste's hand. He was taller than her so it was just on her shoulder but there was contact in a good place.

"That's my shoulder blade." Toru said. "Move your left hand down slightly and to the side to reach my upper arm and grip my bicep there."

"Ok." Adrien said as he did, carefully and took grip of Toru's surprisingly firm bicep. "Now what?"

"Hold that for a moment." Toru said as she shifted and moved so that her back was resting against Agreste's arm. "Now extend your right arm and hold it low."

Adrien did that and Toru used that to leap up, pulling her legs in and then extending them so that the backs of her knees were on Adrien's arm. As soon as she was in that position Agreste lifted her up to carry her princess style which looked odd to any watching given Toru's invisibility but at least like this he wasn't touching any inappropriate places.

"There that should do it." Toru said a little embarrassed by this and really hoping that Marinette wouldn't be mad watching this as she'd lose any potential fight against the French girl should she feel so inclined to avenge this that way. "Be gentle, this is my first princess carry with a guy."

"Sorry, I'm sure Ojiro will do it for you if you ask him to do so." Adrien said grinning, he'd already picked up on the way Toru was around the other boy. "And I know Marinette's held you like this before but she kinda had to seeing as she was the one who threw you into the air in the first place."

"Sh, shut up, I, I don't like Ojiro like that." Toru stammered. "Just get to it, we have a match to win."

"On it." Adrien said as he leapt up.

Toru had to keep her mouth closed to avoid letting out a noise as Adrien moved up, leaping from pipe to pipe to get to a roof above their prey with the grace of a cat. It was really surprising to Toru, his grace not his strength as she knew it was above Marinette's and as Agreste had pointed out she'd felt that strength first hand, but she was stable the entire time as Adrien carried her, dashed across the roof, and then leapt off without hesitation and plunged down to the two remaining foes.

"Deal with Fukidashi." Adrien said as he landed without an issue and tossed a slightly frazzled Toru to the side, right at Fukidashi who had some exclamation points on his speech bubble head as neither of them had expected the sudden attack while they debated what to do while waiting for an update from Kuroiro. "The other is mine."

"So, you're back for more." Mizosa said clearly recovering well from the sudden arrival of Adrien and Toru as water shot out of the tubes on his arms as Adrien squared up to him making sure that he was between Mizosa and Toru to allow her the chance to win. "This time I won't let you get away."

"No, this time you learn what it's like to face a hero student who's got no need to conserve his Quirk anymore, something you might want to look into if you earn a spot." Adrien said as Cataclysm flared on his arms covering him from his hands to his mid forearms with the black energy he could create. "But I will thank you, your skills are impressive and inspired me for a new move so get ready for it. Cataclysmic Blades!"

With that Adrien focused on his Quirk and the black energy moved from his forearms to form a pair of jet-black blades that he grabbed in his hands as he took a stance facing a now shocked looking Mizosa. It took a lot of focus to make the blades and the edges weren't smooth but roiled with his power. Adrien didn't care, he just needed them to last long enough for this to work as he shifted his grips on to them to move them into reverse grips and charged.

He watched as Mizosa let more water out to form balls that could be used as shields while he solidified the ones from the tubes and rushed forward as well. Adrien just grinned under his mask as he raised his left-hand Cataclysmic Blade to intercept the right water baton, slicing through it with ease and causing it to bubble and evaporate though to his credit Mizosa dropped his hold on the water before the Cataclysm could go into the tank and destroy all his water.

He managed that with the first one, but Adrien had already lashed out with his right-hand blade and slashed the water baton as close to the base as he could so that the Cataclysm shot into the tube, destroying all the water in the process before Mizosa could react and as Adrien wasn't controlling it from the contact with water only the water would be destroyed. Mizosa cursed at him, but Adrien wasn't done as he feinted with his left bladed and stepped forward to pull back and then slash the right one at Mizosa's face.

Instinctively, the other boy forced up some of the little remaining water he had control over up to block it but naturally Cataclysm sliced through it with ease destroying it and coming to bear to Mizosa's cheek. He did what Adrien expected and closed his eyes and turned his head which was what anyone would do who didn't fully know that Cataclysm wouldn't affect him and in that instant Adrien dropped his Quirk entirely as he was finally in the right place for his actually attack that all of this had set up.

That was because his step in for the slash had put him in striking range so that the moment the opening presented itself he was able drive his right knee up and hard, right into Mizosa's gut causing him to gasp and double over in pain. As he pitched forward, Adrien slid to the side, raised his hands above his head as he interlocked his fingers and brought them down on the back of Mizosa's head with enough force to knock him out but not enough to do anything more than that.

The moment Adrien's blow landed, Mizosa's body went limp, and he was driven to the ground, out cold and out of the match the moment he was struck, but Adrien grabbed the top of his tank to stop him from faceplanting the floor before lowering him gently down onto it. With that done, Adrien looked up he grinned at what he saw.

When he'd tossed Toru to the side, he'd done so in such a way that she could pivot her body and land a savage downwards kick to the side of Fukidashi's speech bubble head as she recovered from how she'd been carried into this battle. It showed his trust in her that he just tossed her and expected that she could pull it off and know what to do. Toru didn't waste it as she landed the blow and then followed it up with another to Fukidashi's ribs as he was driven to the ground.

Toru rode his body down and straddled his chest, her knees on his biceps to keep Fukidashi pinned there and began punching him repeatedly in the face. This time she wasn't going to let anyone else get in the way, she would be invincible now as she rained blows that Ojiro had taught her down on the helpless Fukidashi who'd been doomed the moment Adrien and Toru had surprised them.

It only took a few blows before Fukidashi's paper mask thing fell away to reveal a pair of Xs with a tongue out marking on his head that indicated that he was out cold. With that Toru panted as she rose from him and turned to see that Adrien had just finished and was turning to her.

"I knew you'd be able to do it, Ojiro has taught you well." Adrien said as he reached to his belt and pulled the special gag off it that he'd deduced was for Fukidashi and tossed it at Toru. "Gag him then we'll figure out how to transport these two."

"On it." Toru said as she set to work applying the gag to Fukidashi while Adrien cuffed Mizosa's wrists in front of him because it was too complicated to do so with the tank strapped to his back and then went to Fukidashi, an idea forming as he did.

"Right, here's what we do." Adrien said as he cuffed Fukidashi's wrists in front of him as well. "We're going to carry Fukidashi together while I carry Mizosa on my back. I have the strength to pull it off so long as you assist me with Fukidashi's weight."

"Huh?" Toru asked confused but Adrien ignored her as he pulled his baton off his belt and extended it to the right length.

Then, when it was as long as needed, he threaded it through Fukidashi's cuffed wrists so that the cuffs were on one side and the rest under it and then laid the staff over his body. With that done, Adrien moved down to Fukidashi's legs and moved them over the baton before removing his belt and using that to lash his ankles together over that part of the staff.

Thus sorted, Adrien went to Mizosa and lifted him such that he could give him a piggyback with the boys cuffed wrists around his neck and using one hand to hold him there. Then he went to the leg end of the now strung up Fukidashi and lifted it. Toru seeing this finally understood the idea and lifted the other end. With Adrien taking most of the weight they could do it with ease and thus set off to their prison as fast as possible.

It took a few minutes, and that was tense as they waited for the end of the match, but it never came, so soon they reached the prison and Adrien kicked the door in to enter with Mizosa on his back while Toru came in behind him with Fukidashi crossing into the prison to record his capture as well. The moment that happened the speaker came to life.

"I can't believe it but with less than half a minute remaining, Class A's second team, Team Agreste I guess, has bested Team Kendo in this match by a score of 5 to 2." Vlad said clearly pissed at the result. "Despite Kendo's best efforts to destroy them, my class lost this one. Um, let's get the stretchers and robots there and hold off on a review as all 4 of my class and Mizosa appear to still be out cold, and we need to relocate after all that damage."

Adrien just ignored it as he and Toru lowered Fukidashi to the ground and he shortened his staff back to a baton. He then hefted Mizosa off and laid him down as well. Only when both were on the ground did Adrien go around and destroy all the cuffs on the unconscious students with Cataclysm and reattach his belt before he and Toru stepped out of the prison leaving their defeated enemies in it.

"Well Hagakure, we did it and you just saw what Marinette and I used to do when we won in the last battle." Adrien said turning to his classmate and holding out his fist. "So, pound it."

"Yay!" Toru squealed; she'd seen Marinette do it with Tsu wanted to do it when then won so she jumped at it to fist bump Adrien and show off that she was one of only two who were still standing after this match. "We did it!"

"That was tough, and Class B did well, but we kept our cools and won it as I knew we would." Adrien said as they ended it. "Let's go help our classmates, I have a feeling the next one will not start for a bit.

Toru nodded, she needed to get her boots and gloves back anyway, and they set off to make sure that Momo, Aoyama, and Tokoyami got help. It had been one hell of a battle but in the end they'd won and earned it.

There was cheers from Class A at the win while Class B were still stunned by how things had so dramatically turned on them right when they thought that they'd win it. However, they couldn't sit idle as the damage was such that a whole new area would be needed and with all of Class B's team out cold, 4 of them thanks to Agreste himself, they needed healing. As such, the feedback would have to wait until later and the third teams were sent out to their starting points.

This was the only 4 on 4 match and both teams got up and made their way to their starting points with initial plans already in mind. It was soon time for the midpoint match of the day and as Class A already had two wins, this could decide the overall winner already. The first two matches had been exhilarating but the day was far from over as the third match of the joint training exercise was about to begin.

Well, there it is, the second battle and the one with the biggest change thanks to one of the Miraculous duo being in it, this time Adrien who really showed how good he was there so now no one can doubt him. There isn't much to say about this chapter, it was pretty straightforward, but to anyone wondering, it is confirmed in the MHA Ultimate Analysis book that Kuroiro has a crush on Komori, though it was heavily implied in the episode, so as it is a canon crush (the third in Class B that I know of and the 4th of the 4 confirmed ones in the Hero Course) and as such I will use it. It will come up again, I have plans Kuroiro based off some of the side material in which he's part of and that's going to be a fun chapter to look forward to, I promise. That is all I have for y'all however so I will leave this chapter off here. As always, if you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
