This idea popped up in my head a while back and I thought that I might as well try it along with another fanfic I am working on.
Some characters might not act the same as canon and I might add some characters from previous series to this fic, and maybe stuff like dark signers and Barian and Astral world but you'll have to see ;)
Everything was peaceful in Paradise City. The people were hanging out with their family and friends, laughter was in the air, everyone was dueling...
And a portal was in the sky?
"OW!" said the black haired boy that fell out.
The next to jump out of the portal, a black haired girl who was older than him landing flawlessly, said, "Oh grow up Kelvin."
The boy, Kelvin, was twelve years old had black hair, pine green eyes, and fair skin, wearing a plain green green shirt with jeans, and on his wrist was a silver bracelet with strange designs.
The girl, Neoma, was fourteen years old had midnight black hair, moon blue eyes, and dark almond skin, wearing a blue top and and denim jacket with a moon belt and jeans, and around her neck was a silver locket.
"Shut. Up." Kelvin muttered angrily, before a bag came out of the portal and landed on his head. "Why me...?"
Another bag fell in front of Neoma, which she caugh before the portal closed. "Stop complaining and let's move."
Kelvin got up saying, "Why did we have to choosen to come to this reality?"
Neoma sighed. "Because everyone agreed that we were the most suitable to come here."
"Fine, fine." He said.
"Good," she said. "Now let's find some cards to start off our decks and find some duel disks."
They were in an alleyway so it wouldn't be to easy.
Kelvin stood up and noticed two cards on the ground that he picked up. "Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon and Ultimate Fusion," he read. "Who would throw away these?" He also noticed a smal badge on the ground. He picked it up and saw it had the letters LID on it. "Hey Neoma can I keep this pin?"
"No, it could have a tracker or something." She said.
Ignoring her, he put it on his shirt.
Neoma looked around for a bit and found two cards. Exosister Irene and Exosister Gibrine.
"Found some cards," she informed. "Let's scout a bit before looking for some duel disks."
Before putting the cards in her pocket they glowed blue while Kelvin's glowed light green.
Before hey could walk out of the alleyway, they heard a man in a dark blue coat wearing a mask and goggles with dark blue and teal hair, jumped in front of them holding out his purple duel disk. He pointed to Kelvin. "Duel me!" He said.
Kelvin pointed to himself. The figure nodded. "Uhh..." Kelvin didn't know what to do. "No...?" He shook his head. "I mean, we don't have duel disks and-"
"Then why do you have an LID badge." The figure said pointing to the badge on Kelvin's shirt.
Neoma put her hands up in defense. "There's been a misunderstanding. He just found that on the ground and thought it looked cool and put it on. We aren't associated with this LID whatsoever. We aren't even duelist yet." She grabbed Kelvin's arm and started to dragging him away. "So if you'll excuse us, we'll be on our way."
"Like I'll believe that." The man said. He slammed a card on his duel disk, summoning a giant metallic bird. "Get them Rise Falcon!"
The giant bird lunged at them, but before it could hit them, Kelvin held out both his hands and a force field appeared, blocking the attack and kicking up a lot of dust from the impact. The man waited until the dust was settled but when it did Neoma and Kelvin were already gone.
"Who.. the heck.. was that guy?" Kelvin said in between breaths. When the metallic bird hit the force field, they used it as a distraction to get away.
"You think I know?" Neoma rhetorically. "We haven't even been here for five minutes and we already got ambushed."
They both just sat down for a few moments before Neoma spoke up. "We need to find a place to stay, and somewhere we can learn how to duel."
Kelvin looked up. "Like there?" He pointed towards a tall tower resembling an hourglass with the letters LID and LEO on top.
"And how do you know that's not a government building or something?" Neoma asked.
Kelvin, feeling a little smarter then Neoma for once, took the badge off his shirt. "That guy earlier wanted to duel me after seeing this badge," he explained. "So it probably means that they teach dueling, or at least have people who know how to duel."
Neoma thought for a moment before sighing. "Fine I guess you have a point," she said standing up. "We better get moving then, before that bird guy finds us again."
She held her hand out to Kelvin, who took it, and lifted him up.
They both then ran in the direction of the giant building, unaware of the blue haired female that was watching them.
After running for several minutes they were out of the alleyway and running on the sidewalk.
Kelvin was several feet ahead of Neoma, and bumped into a lot of people on accident, Neoma having to apologize to them to avoid any conflict.
He looked back to see if she was still behind him when he accidentally bumped into a group of people.
"Ow!" All of them said as they fell, only one of them not falling over.
When Neoma finally caught up to Kelvin she saw all of them on the floor and hurried over.
When she got closer she got a closer look at the group, three boys and a girl.
One of the boys had red and green hair and red eyes with goggles on his head. He had an orange shirt with green pants and red shoes with a white jacket hanging on his shoulders making it look like a cape. And around his neck was a blue pendulum necklace.
One of the other boys had blue hair up in a ponytail with green eyes. He had a black shirt underneath a blue jacket, which Neoma thought looked like a uniform, and gray pants with brown shoes. Next to him was a lollipop.
The last boy, the only one who didn't fall over, was tall with black pompadour hair, black eyes and a red bandanna. He had the same jacket as the first boy except he actually put it on, with a red sash around it with gray pants and stone brick sandals.
The last one was a girl pink hair in pigtails and blue hair clips with blue eyes. She had a sleeveless shirt with a green music note on the collar with a short pink skirt and black leggings. And on her wrist was-
Wait a minute. Isn't that...
Neoma shook her head snapping back into reality after the startling realization she made, and helped up Kelvin while the giant man helped up their group.
She turned to them and bowed her head. "I am so sorry about Kelvin, he wasn't looking where he was going."
"Don't worry about it, it's okay." The pink haired girl said.
"But he made drop my lollipop." The blue haired kid sulked.
"Don't ypu have an entire stash of them in your pocket?" The tomato haired kid asked.
"Yeah, but they all broke when we fell over." The blue haired boy said taking out a smashed up lollipop for his pocket.
"You know what," Neoma said. "How about Kelvin buys you some candy as a way of saying sorry."
"Hey, why do I have to pay?!" Kelvin asked.
She shot him a sharp glare. "Because this is the least we can do and it's punishment for bumping into them and ten other people on the way here and making me apologize to every single one of them because you're to rude to do so."
"Hey, I'm not so rude as to not say sorry."
"You didn't apologize to any of the people you bumped into."
"Uhh..." he awkwardly looked down.
"Let's just go get that candy." She grabbed his arm and dragged him to where she thought the store was.
the group looked at each other. "Does she know that the candy store is that way?" The blue haired boy asked.
The group went to Neoma and Kelvin and told them where the direction of the candy store actually was.
As they walked Neoma introduced herself. "I'm Neoma, what are your names?"
"I'm Yuya, Yuya Sakaki." He said. "The one with pink hair is Zuzu, Sora is the kid with blue hair, and Gong."
"Nice to meet you," Kelvin said. "I'm Kelvin."
"So why were you too in such a rush anyway?" Sora asked.
"Well, we're new around here and we wanted to learn how to duel so we were looking around to see if we could find some kind of duel school." Neoma explained leaving a few small details out.
"And find cards and some duel disks." Kelvin said taking out the two cards he found. "We only two each."
Sora saw the cards and Kelvin's hands and gasped. "No way! Where did you get those?"
Kelvin looked confused for a minute. "Just found them on the ground, why?"
"Those cards are legendary where I come from." Sora said.
"Where do you come from?" Neoma asked.
"Uhh..." Sora trailed off. "Not important."
Neoma narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
Zuzu, noticing the slight tension, changed the topic. "Maybe you could attend You Show."
"You Show?" Kelvin said questioningly.
"Our duel school. It specialize in teaching entertainment dueling." Sora said.
"Me and Kelvin aren't really the entertainment type," Neoma said. "Do you guys teach Xyz?" Neoma asked, taking out the card she found earlier.
"Uhh, no." Zuzu said, with a slight deadpan look.
"Then it's a no."
While they were talking, Kelvin walked next to Gong, who had been unusually silent the entire time.
Gong noticed Kelvin staring at him and asked, "Is something wrong, little fella?"
"Hey," Kelvin said, taking offense to being called little. "I'll have you know that I am Twelve years old and I'm not short."
"Gong is sorry for offending you." he apologized.
Kelvin still stared at him.
Soon they arrived at the candy store. Neoma went in and bought Sora a lollipop before handing it to him. He happily took it, immediately putting it in his mouth.
"We have to go now," Neoma said grabbing Kelvin's arm. "See you later."
"Bye."
Neoma and Kelvin then ran off.
Just as they left, Zuzu noticed something on the ground and picked it up. It was a silver locket with intricate designs depicting a sun a moon. She opened it and inside were two pictures. One was a younger Neoma with an old man with dark skin and a similar eye color to her the old man holding some kind of blue ball, which was blurry in the picture. The other picture was Neoma hugging a fifteen year old girl with pink hair and odd eyes, one red the other green, with a scar across the red eye.
Sora saw the object in Zuzu's hand and said, "Hey, wasn't that around Neoma's neck?"
"She must've dropped it." Gong said.
"But they just ran off," Zuzu said. "How are we gonna return this."
"We'll keep it safe for her until we see them again." Yuya suggested.
Zuzu nodded, putting it in her bag.
Once Neoma and Kelvin were away from the group, Kelvin pulled Neoma back and said, "You don't usually go out of your way to just buy someone candy. Why did you do that?"
"Because Zuzu has one of the bracelets." Neoma said. "If we want any chance of getting those bracelets we need the people who have them to trust us."
Kelvin paused for a minute before saying, "Okay, but first let's get to that tower."
Then they started walking again.
After thirty more minutes of walking, they finally made it to the giant tower and walked inside. Neoma saw a poster containing some information about this place and read through it before stopping at who runs the company.
Declan Akaba.
"Isn't Akaba the last name of the guy we have to defeat?" Kelvin said.
Neoma nodded. "But chances are he isn't are enemy just because his dad is. We need to see him."
They walked up to the front desk and Kelvin said, "We would like to speak to Declan Akaba please."
"Do you you have an appointment with the president?" The secretary asked.
They both shook their heads.
"Then no." The lady then went back to typing.
"Umm..." Kelvin reached into the pocket that had his cards, which glowed green for a moment, and pulled out a card. "We just wanted to know where we could get cards like this."
The Front desk lady looked up from her computer and gasped, before speaking into her earpiece.
Neoma and Kelvin looked confused. He looked at his card and gasped. This wasn't the kind of card he'd expected to get.
The lady then turned to them and said, "The president would like to see you. Head to the elevator."
Kelvin and Neoma walked to the elevator and it took them up to the top of the tower.
When the elevator doors opened, they found themselves in a giant office with a man with silver hair, purple eyes behind red glasses and a giant red scarf around his neck.
They walked towards him.
"So, you possess pendulum cards?" He asked, looking at Kelvin.
"You mean this?" Kelvin said, showing him the card.
"Where did you get it from?" Declan asked.
"Oh, I-" Kelvin was caught off by Neoma covering his mouth.
"He found it on the floor." Neoma said.
Declan wasn't buying it but continued. "So, where are you two from? There aren't any records of you in the Leo Corporation's database."
"Listen Declan Akaba," Neoma said. "We know all about the other dimensions and the dimensional war which is being led by your father, Leo Akaba."
Declan remained calm as Neoma continued, "If you're against him then we'll help you. If your working with him, you don't want to know."
Declan pushed up his glasses. "For your information, I have been against my father since I found out about his plan to combine all four dimensions."
Neoma nodded. "I had a feeling."
"Though what do I get from receiving your help?" Declan asked. "I can see you have barely any cards and no duel disks. How are you able to fight if you can't duel?"
"We can do this!" Kelvin said.
Before Neoma could stop him, Kelvin formed a force field around Declan who was shocked.
"Kelvin! You idiot!" Neoma lashed out.
Kelvin, realizing what he just did, put down the force field. "Oops."
"How did you...?"
"Look, if we help you can you not tell anyone about this." Neoma requested. "We'll get decks by tomorrow and we'll enroll in your school, okay?"
Declan, after calming down, agreed. "Very well. You can start your classes tomorrow. Now you may leave."
"One more thing," Kelvin said. "We don't have anywhere to stay and since this place is so big, you probably have dormitories so..."
Declan sighed. "If you wanted a room together then no, the dormitories are separated for boys and girls."
"Thank goodness." Neoma said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kelvin asked, receiving no answer.
"Here," Declan said, handing each of them a card. "Use these to get into your dormitory. The number is on the top and you'll both have roommates."
"Great."
"Now you can go to your dorms. Make sure to get plenty of rest."
Both Kelvin and Neoma went back to the elevator and went to the floor where the dorms were. They got to the intersection, the left to the girl dorms, and right for the boys.
"See ya later." Neoma said as she walked off.
She walked for a few more minutes before arriving at her dorm.
"Room 1204..." Neoma scanned the card and opened the door. The room had one bunk bed a small kitchen along with a bathroom, closet, and a desk. A decent room.
"So you're my new roommate." A female voice said.
She turned her head towards the voice, seeing a girl with dark skin, maroon eyes and black hair, leaning on the wall.
She walked up to Neoma and looked at her. "You don't look that impressive to me. Where's your duel disk?"
"Why do you wanna know?" Neoma asked.
"You need to at least have one to duel. So where is it, 'cause I don't see it on you?"
"That's none of your business." Neoma said, pushing past her and towards the bed, putting her bag down and falling onto it, exhausted after today.
"You have some attitude," the girl said.
"I'll take that as a compliment."
She sighed before saying, "So what course are you going to enroll in?"
"Probably Xyz." Neoma said. "Once I get a full deck, I'll beat the heck out of every student taking it."
"I wonder how Dipper would feel if he heard that." She muttered under her breath.
There was an unbearable silence for a while before Neoma, not liking it, said, "My name is Neoma. What's your name?"
"Julia Krystal." She introduced.
"So what course do you take?"
"Fusion." Julia said, taking out her Gem Knight Master Diamond.
"Did you pick a gem deck because your last name is Krystal or..." Neoma asked.
Julia just laughed. "No. My dad is a jeweler and it inspired me to use a gem deck. But my cousin was the one who gave me this deck."
"That sounds nice." Neoma said.
She raised her hand to her neck to look inside her locket but panicked because-
it was gone.
She immediately stood up and looked around frantically trying to find it.
"Whoa, calm down, what's wrong?" Julia asked, wondering why she seemed like she was in a panic room.
"I can't find my locket!" Neoma said. "What if it fell off, or someone took it or-"
"Calm down, panicking isn't going to help," Julia said. "Just breathe."
Neoma took a few deep breathes before finally calming down, a tear streaming down her face.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find it." Julia reassured.
"If you're wrong I will blast your head off." Neoma said before hopping onto the bed and taking a nap.
It took Kelvin a while before he found the correct room but he made it.
"1010..." Kelvin muttered, trying to make sure before scanning his card and entering the room.
Only to witness the sight of some random brown haired dude doing weird stretches, holding what looked like a sword in his hand.
"What the...?"
The boy noticed Kelvin and said, "Hey, what're you doing in my room?!"
The boy held his sword to Kelvin's face, who held up his hands in defense, frantically saying, "Geez, I'm your new roommate, calm down."
The boy held his sword down and Kelvin sighed in relief. He may have powers, but if Neoma found out he used his powers in front of this guy, he would probably be strangled to death.
"So you're my new roommate?" The boy asked.
"Duh," Kelvin said. "I literally just said that."
The boy circled around him saying, "Usually we're told a day before we get a new student or roommate," the boy stop circling. "So how did your become a student in just, like what, two minutes?"
"Umm.." Kelvin thought of his answer. Then he pulled out the card he showed the front desk lady earlier. "I just showed them this."
"Whoa, where'd you get a Pendulum card?" He asked.
"I found it on the floor." Kelvin fibbed.
"Not even Yuya Sakaki has a Fusion Pendulum card," the boy said. "No one in their right mind would just drop a Pendulum card."
"Then I guess they weren't in their right mind." Kelvin said.
The boy clicked his tongue before Kelvin asked, "What's your name?"
"Kit Blade." He introduced.
"Kelvin."
"So you use a Blue-Eyes deck?" Kit asked.
"I don't have a full deck, but I have Blue-Eyes cards." Kelvin.
"Did you also find those on the floor?"
Kelvin nodded. "What deck do you use?" He asked.
"X-Sabers." He answered, taking out his XX-Saber Gottams.
"Okay." Kelvin said before sitting down on the bed and then suddenly falling asleep, tired after a long day.
Kit just stood for a second before saying, "Well that was... interesting."
Finally done with chapter one!
I hope the chapter wasn't too confusing, I feel like the formating or something might be confusing but I can't check with anyone I know because they will 100% judge me!
Those of you who read the chapter of my first fanfic already know Neoma but here you meet another character from my book, Kelvin Hendrix!
Like in my last fic Neoma will use an Exosister deck, but I will add some none exosister OC cards to her deck. Kelvin will use a Blue-Eyes because like Neoma he is also based of of a person I know and that person really liked Blue-Eyes White Dragon when we watched Yu-Gi-Oh for the first time(even though he now hits me whenever I want to talk about it) and he still likes Blue-Eyes, so yeah.
I'm pretty sure everyone guessed who attacked Neoma and Kelvin is (but if you don't then I'll just keep it a secret ;)) but who do you think the blue haired girl was?
I felt like that since the LID building was so big they'd probably have dorms for students, right?(Also the room numbers weren't random)
I thought that since their isn't that much known about how Julia got her deck and stuff, I decided to give her a cousin who gave her the deck to make things more interesting instead of just saying she just got the deck or something.. (Also the cousin won't be an OC)
I feel like the interactions between Kit and Kelvin were kinda weird because I didn't know what I wanted them to say, same with Julia and Neoma.
BTW: it was probably around probably around 6 PM when they arrived so yeah.
And also I won't be writing the duels in canon, I will write duels that don't happen in canon.
Here is a little extra scene before I end the chapter:)
At Zuzu's House:
Zuzu was about to get ready to go to bed when she heard something vibrating. She looked around before seeing Neoma's locket...
Glowing?
Zuzu, confused looked at the locket before the the symbols on it started to glow, startling her. Then a spectral looking image of a brown haired girl was projected from the locket.
"Hey Neoma, how's the mission going?" The spectral image said, gunshots being heard in the background.
"Huh?!"
The spectral brown haired girl, realizing that it wasn't Neoma she was talking to, cursed herself. "Oh shi-"
The brown haired girl disappeared before she could finish her sentence, just leaving a flabbergasted Zuzu.
