Chapter Ten: Rescuing the Baboon Siblings
The fire crackled dangerously around the log, thick smoke rising into the air. Inside, the baboon siblings huddled close, their voices growing desperate.
Bongo: "Help!" He shouted, his voice strained with urgency.
Bobo: "Help!" He followed, his tone edged with fear.
Asha: *baby voice* "Lion Guard! Makini!" She whimpered, her voice trembling.
Bongo squirmed again, his discomfort mounting.
Bongo: "Ohhhh, I don't know if I can hold my pee anymore." Hegroaned, his tail twitching anxiously.
Bobo, though equally nervous, tried to remain calm.
Bobo: "Bongo, you are NOT going to pee when we're stuck like this." He said firmly, trying to keep control of the situation.
Suddenly, they heard voices approaching.
Fuli: "Bongo? Are you there?" Her voice rang out, filled with concern.
The siblings' ears perked up. Bongo's heart leaped to his chest.
Bongo: "Fuli?! Is that you?" He called, hope rising in his voice.
Fuli: "Yes, I'm here." She reassured, her voice steady and comforting.
Kion stepped forward.
Kion: "We're all here." He added firmly.
Asha's face lit up with relief.
Asha: *baby voice* "Yay! We're saved!" She cheered, clapping her tiny hands.
Bongo and Bobo: "Alright!" They grinned.
Kion: "Stay calm, you guys. We'll get you out." He kept his tone calm but serious.
Bongo, however, had other concerns.
Bongo: "Please hurry! I really gotta pee." He whined, his legs bouncing in place.
Bobo rolled his eyes.
Bobo: "You better not end up peeing on me." He warned, his voice laced with both irritation and worry.
Asha: *baby voice* "Yeah, yucky!" She squeaked, wrinkling her nose.
Kion: "Bunga, Fuli, you two focus on getting Bongo, Bobo, and Asha out of that log." He turned to his team.
Fuli: "Right." She nodded with determination.
Bunga: "Zuka Zama!" He pumped his fists.
Without hesitation, Fuli and Bunga leaped over the fire, landing beside the log.
Kion: "Beshte, Ono, Makini—let's take care of the fires." He turned to the rest of the team.
Beshte: "You got it, Kion." He gave a firm nod.
Ono: "Affirmative." He flapped his wings.
Makini: "Let's do it!" She tightened her grip on her bakora staff, determination in her voice.
As Kion, Beshte, and Makini worked to clear a firebreak, Fuli crouched near the log, lowering her head to look inside.
Fuli: "Bongo, Bobo, Asha—are you okay in there?" She asked, her voice both gentle and reassuring.
Bobo: "Yeah, but we're really stuck." He sighed, his tone slightly frustrated.
Bongo: "Please help us." He pleaded, his voice small but hopeful.
Asha: *baby voice* "Fuli… I'm scared." she whimpered.
Fuli's eyes softened.
Fuli: "Don't worry, Asha. We'll get you out of there." She promised, her voice filled with warmth. "Bunga, see if you can push them out." She then turned to Bunga.
Bunga: "You got it, Fuli." He cracked his knuckles.
He crawled into the log, positioning himself behind the siblings.
Bunga: "Alright, let's get you guys out of here. I'll push, and you guys wiggle." He instructed.
The siblings nodded, preparing themselves.
Bunga: "Hrrrrrrrr!" He grunted, pushing as hard as he could.
But the siblings barely budged.
Fuli: "Well?" She peeked inside again, her brows raising.
Bunga: "I'm having… a little trouble." He admitted through clenched teeth.
Fuli: *sighs* "Okay, Bunga. You push, and I'll pull." She sighed, realizing he needed help.
Bunga: "Got it." He smirked.
Fuli: "Okay, guys, grab my tail as tight as you can, and don't let go." She turned around and extended her tail inside the log.
The siblings eagerly reached out, gripping her tail firmly. As soon as they did, Fuli winced slightly, feeling the strong tug.
Fuli: "Mmmph." She grunted, blinking in mild surprise. "Hehe. You guys have quite the grip there." She chuckled.
Bongo, Bobo, and Asha: "Hehehe." They giggled.
Fuli: "Ready, Bunga?" She steadied herself.
Bunga: "I'm ready." He bent his knees.
Fuli: "Huhhh. Ughh." She planted her paws firmly, muscles tensing as she pulled with all her strength.
Bunga: "Nnnngh." He pushed again.
The siblings tightened their grip, straining.
Bongo: "Rrrr." He gritted his teeth.
Bobo: "Hnnnn." His face scrunched up.
Asha: *baby voice* *whimpers* "Fuli, I'm slipping." She cried out, her little fingers trembling.
Fuli: "Hold on, Asha. You're doing great. Just don't let go, okay?" She gritted her teeth but softened her voice.
Asha: *baby voice* "Okay." She nodded quickly.
Bongo glanced up at Fuli.
Bongo: "Are you okay, Fuli?" He asked, his voice filled with concern.
Fuli: "Hnnnngh. I'm fine. Just focus on holding on." She managed a reassuring smile, despite the strain.
The siblings beamed at her words, gripping tighter. But despite all their effort, they still wouldn't budge.
Fuli: "Ughh. Come on." She pulled harder, ignoring the strain on her tail, refusing to give up.
Bongo: "Ohhh. Bobo, I really have to—" He whined.
Bobo: "Not now, Bongo!" He cut him off, his patience running thin.
Bongo: "But I REALLY have to go. " He whined again.
Kion: "Fuli, Bunga, any luck getting them out?" His voice called from the other side.
Fuli: "Nnnnnngh. We're working on it." She groaned, panting.
Makini: "You got this, Fuli!" She cheered from the side.
Fuli: "Thanks, Makini." She smiled, still straining.
Meanwhile, Kion, Beshte, and Ono worked tirelessly to keep the fire from spreading.
Kion: "This side's clear." He nodded.
Beshte: "Hah. Nnh." He grunted as he dug.
Ono: "Look out below!" He hovered above, dropping dust over the remaining flames.
Makini: "There. All done." She swung her staff to scatter dirt.
Meanwhile, Fuli was exhausted. She sat down, her tail still held tightly in the siblings' grip, taking a deep breath.
Fuli: *panting heavily* "Bunga, we've got to come up with another plan. I don't know if my tail can take another tug." She admitted, wincing slightly. "No offense, you guys." She looked back at the siblings with a small smile.
Bongo, Bobo, and Asha simply smiled.
Bongo: "It's okay." He nodded.
Bobo: "Yeah. No problem." He grinned.
Asha: *baby voice* "Go, Fuli! Go!" She beamed.
Bunga: "I've got an idea." He tapped his chin, then his eyes lit up.
Fuli: "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" She groaned.
Bunga: "Uhhh… Bongo, Bobo, Asha, how long can you hold your breath?" He smirked.
Bobo: "For a little while. Why?" He raised a brow.
Bongo: "Yeah, what's up?" He was confused.
Bunga: "Just trust me." He said, grinning mischievously.
Bongo, Bobo, and Asha: "Okay." They exchanged glances.
Bunga: "Fuli, get ready to REALLY pull." He turned to Fuli.
Fuli: *sighs* "Okay, just tell me when." She sighed but nodded.
Bunga: "Okay, you three. Now… breathe in real good." He grinned.
Bongo, Bobo, and Asha: *inhales* They inhaled deeply.
Bunga: "I'm really sorry about this." He winced.
Then—he lifted his tail and let out a loud fart. The siblings, still holding their breath, scrambled desperately to escape the smell.
Fuli: "Oh. Ewww. Bunga!" She gagged.
Bunga: "Now, Fuli! Pull!" He grinned.
Fuli: "Hnnnngh!" She narrowed her eyes, planted her paws, and gave one final, powerful yank.
With Bunga's push and the siblings' frantic scrambling.
POP!
Bongo, Bobo, and Asha slipped free.
