This is Part III of the Labor Day Special. Last time, Blitz and Twirl shared the news of their mission to restore Brother Eye, the good, in that Brother Eye is back, and the bad, in that not only were Green Arrow and Black Canary were captured but that Grid has entered existence and has become a threat. Meanwhile, Darkblood has discovered the truth about Black Manta, that he's a spy for the Legion. Though he doesn't plan to eliminate him quite yet, instead planning to play psychological warfare, seal off Manta's metaphorical tunnels and ensure he has nowhere to go before burning him. So, how's all this going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up in Legon HQ, where Blaze is writing another entry in her journal. It reads in this fashion:)

"In the wake of Ollie and Dinah disappearing, I almost didn't notice that this war has entered it's sixth year. Year Five really seemed to pass quickly, but I guess a major shift in the status quo like allying with the Regime will certainly do that to you. It's been a few weeks and nobody's seen hide nor hair of Green Arrow and Black Canary. I worry that they're... No. I can't believe that they're dead. And with Cyborg backing things up, as hard to believe as this is, things actually don't seem to be going any faster. It's almost like Wonder Woman has him working on something else. And to be honest? I wouldn't put it past her. Something about her still has me feeling... off. I know she's working on something behind my back. She almost has to be. But we have to keep this alliance up for now if we're going to stop Brainiac."

(As Blaze finishes up writing that entry, the Justice League comm line comes active again, getting Batman's attention, quietly beckoning to Blaze to join him as Wonder Woman calls in)

Blaze: Any luck?

Wonder Woman: No sign of your colleagues yet. But we may have something.

Batman: And what would that be?

Wonder Woman: Black Adam has been having the strangest nightmares.

Blaze: We need more than a dream journal to stop Brainiac, Diana.

Wonder Woman: There's something to it.

Blaze: (Realizes it) Oh, right. Wisdom of Solomon, or... Zehuti, or whatever his counterpart is.

Wonder Woman: Exactly. He keeps foretelling something bad happening in Kahndaq.

Blaze: (Remembering something from her list from Dick Grayson) Really?

Wonder Woman: Yes. Though he's getting two conflicting messages of where the attack is coming from. In one it's from the sky, and the next, it's from underground.

Batman: We'll dispatch an operative to Kahndaq straightaway.

Blaze: And here's your volunteer. Though something tells me I'll need to bring Belial along.

Wonder Woman: Possibly a good move. We'll await your arrival. Wonder Woman out.

(And with that, Wonder Woman ends the transmission)

Batman: You volunteered for that a little too readily.

Blaze: When you consider that both Black Adam's lightning, and something connected to Wonder Woman are on the list of things we need to bring back Drago, how could I not be?

Batman: Good point.

Blaze: Send a message to Belial, I'm setting off straight away.

(As Blaze picks up her journal on the way out, the scene transitions to the Nameless City, where Darkblood is being escorted to something by Doctor Fate.)

Darkblood: The prisoners still refuse to cooperate, do they?

Doctor Fate: Unfortunately so, Lord Darkblood.

Darkblood: Perhaps I can be a little more persuasive.

(And as he makes that remark, Darkblood arrives at his destination, where Grid and Black Manta have Green Arrow and Black Canary strung up on the wall.)

Darkblood: (Banging the end of his trident on the ground) I understand you're not enjoying my hospitality.

Green Arrow: The service is garbage, the rooms are uncomfortable, though the continental breakfast was nice.

Darkblood: (Rolls his eyes) I've heard that Green Arrow was the funny guy. So why did you go for such low hanging fruit?

Black Canary: Get to the point.

Darkblood: Let's just cut straight to the chase. What are the others up to? Tell me, and you'll go free.

Green Arrow: I highly doubt that.

Darkblood: Answer my question.

Black Canary: Read my lips, go to...

Doctor Fate: (Strangling Black Canary with his magic) Show some respect for Lord Darkblood, wench.

Darkblood: Now, now, Fate. That's not necessary.

(With that order, Doctor Fate stops strangling Black Canary, who looks at him in surprise)

Black Canary: Fate, you're better than this.

Darkblood: I think you're mistaking him for Kent Nelson. The man you knew is nowhere near here. Now then, tell me what I want to know or things will not end well for you.

Green Arrow: I repeat Dinah's earlier sentiment. Go to hell.

Darkblood: (With a sadistic smirk on his face) Very well then. Maybe this will make you a little more receptive to my mercy. (Snaps his fingers) Fate.

Doctor Fate: Yes, Lord Darkblood.

(With that, Doctor Fate charges up his magic while Darkblood does the same with his Dark Aether. And soon, the two meet on Darkblood's trident before firing straight out at Green Arrow and Black Canary, eliciting nothing but pain as the evil energy flows through them as our scene ends for today)

This concludes Part III of the Labor Day Special. For the Finale, head on over to Ashes of Midnight. So, we're in Year Six already. Yes I know, Year Five went by way too fast, but we've got Ten Years of conflict to cover and not a lot of stuff to do with it. So I've got to start wrapping things up if we're going to get anywhere. So, we're in Year Six. And now it seems we're moving to Kahndaq, as two different threats appear to be moving in, one from the sky and the other from underground. But what exactly does that mean? And what's going to happen to Green Arrow and Black Canary? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
