May 13th 2016, Avengers Tower

Harry sat alongside Wanda and a bandaged Pietro as the rest of the team had their eyes fixed to the screen in front of them.

"-more than 40 casualties in the bombing that rocked Lagos yesterday. Officials from around the world are clamoring for something to be done in response to the actions of the Avengers." The reporter kept talking as pictures of each member were shown as they tried to save as many people from the crumbling building as possible.

"It is a sad day to have lost so many of my people to senseless violence." King T'Chaka said from the UN. Harry had enough and looking at the lost expression on his kids faces he wasn't going to listen anymore of the biased news cast.

"Jarvis, shut it off please." The screen flicked before disappearing causing the team to look back at him. Harry didn't say anything and instead stood and put his hands on the shoulders of the twins , with only Wanda looking at him.

"I messed up." Pietro's quiet voice broke the silence. The usually confident and lighthearted speedster was blaming himself for the destruction.

"Look at me Pietro." Harry said, causing the young man to look at his father figure. Harry could see the damage done by the falling debris all over his body. One of his legs was broken and he had several contusions across his body.

"This isn't your fault. You did your best, but your inexperience was your undoing. Learn from it and move on, for what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger." Harry said as he kept eye contact with him. "You've heard my story. You know the many pitfalls that I've had throughout my life. Do you think it's my fault for everything that happened?" Harry asked.

"Of course not!" Pietro said louder than he usually spoke.

"Then why would you blame yourself?" Harry asked as Pietro dropped his head for a moment before giving him a slow nod. Harry squeezed his shoulder before looking back at the team. "This isn't going to end well. Politicians are ramping up for something but even Fury has been stonewalled at every turn."

"We tried to save everyone we could. What more do they want?" Sam asked from the side.

"Control." Harry and Tony said at the same time. They gave each other a solemn nod before looking back at the team.

"We will need to lay low for a while. No big missions and definitely no international travel." Tony said as he looked at each member. "I know you won't be stopped by our laws but please be discreet in your movements Thor." Thor just nodded at the serious side of Tony.

"I'm going to contact Maria and have SHADE on standby for dissolution." His team started to speak up but he raised a hand to prevent it. "If the world wants to control us then I'd rather destroy what I've built before handing it over to the politicians of the world."

"What? You don't trust the government?" Rhodey asked from the side. Harry looked at him and heard Tony groan from the side. Harry didn't mind the skepticism as Rhodey had never been briefed on Harry's full backstory.

"Not one bit." Harry said, looking straight at him. "I know you are proud of your country and uniform, but are you willing to guarantee that every politician has the best interest of the world at heart?" Rhodey seemed ready to argue but saw Tony give him the barest head shake.

"Maybe not." He said quietly before leaning back in his seat.

"So we are in agreement? Everyone is laying low?" Harry asked and got nods from everybody. "Good. Training will continue as always. I think we might have a prospective member joining us soon." With that everyone got up to do their own thing. Harry took the twins home before sitting down in the living room with them.

"Are you really going to dissolve SHADE after working so hard to create it?" Wanda asked him.

"If it'll protect even one of the heroes we have working with us then yes." Harry said. "Also, you two can't be out on patrol for a while." Harry waited expecting some arguing but none came.

"We understand." Pietro said as he leaned back and groaned as his cast was propped up on an ottoman. "Our hero identities are plastered all over the news right now. It wouldn't be a good idea if we made any public appearances." Wanda nodded alongside him.

"Well I'm glad you agree. Feel free to stay here if you like. Teddy has missed having you around." Harry said with a smile as he stood up just in time for Teddy to come sprinting into the room only to skid to a stop by an injured Pietro. Harry smirked and gave Wanda a wink before fading away as Teddy started asking the speedster a million questions. Wanda was quick to pop away as well leaving an immobile Pietro and an excited Teddy.

June 6th 2016, Avengers Tower, Training Room

Harry was sitting in a conjured armchair reading as the rest of the team were in different groups conversing about the still rotating news coverage on Lagos. Harry sighed as he reread the same paragraph on the creation of personal runes once again. Hearing the door open he looked up only to chuckle at the nervous visage of Tony's new protege. He seemed scared to even move further in the room but the prodding hands behind him forced him in as Tony entered behind him.

"Hey team. Got some new blood here!" Tony called out causing the rest of the team to stop what they were doing and focusing on the young man next to Tony. Harry started laughing as the boy physically cringed under the onslaught of gazes.

"Welcome Peter. I'm sure Tony told you all about our training right?" Harry said as he stood up.

"Mr. Potter?! What are you doing here? Are you a hero too? Wait…" Peter seemed to focus on him for a moment before his eyes comically widened. "Summoner…" he said with a half whisper.

"Got it in one Mr. Parker." Harry said with a smirk. "I'm sure you know the other but let me make introductions anyways. First is the lovely Natasha Romanov. AKA The Black Widow. Next is the team sharpshooter and lookout Hawkeye, you can call him Clint. Of course you know Thor and Captain Steve Rogers." Harry said as he introduced the closest members to the new recruit. Harry was fighting a laugh as he watched the overwhelmed boy vibrate in excitement at meeting his heroes, his earlier nerves nowhere to be seen.

"Over here we have the newest members to our team; James 'Bucky' Barnes, Sam Wilson AKA Falcon, Colonel James Rhodes AKA Warmachine, Wanda AKA The Scarlet Witch, and Pietro AKA Quicksilver." Harry said as he pointed out the remaining members present. Harry noticed the teens eyes lingering on his daughter and fought back a pained look. He was not looking forward to his daughter dating.

"Guys this is Peter Parker. He's the spider swinging around town stopping crime." Tony said as he came up and laid his arm across the teens shoulders. Harry smirked at the familiarity between the two and couldn't be happier that Tony found a mentee in the boy.

"Today is going to be light work. We'll test your limits and skill set before moving on to our skill training. We might have some visitors later so be prepared." Harry said breaking up the group to go to their own workouts. Harry and Tony led Peter over to the weight section before attaching a few monitors to the boy.

"Alright Pete we'll start at 500 pounds and move up from there." Tony said as he set the artificial weight runes as Pete laid on the bench. Pete easily lifted the bar, did a rep, and put it back. Tony doubled the weight before signaling him to go again.

This method continued, moving up by a 1000 pounds each time until Peter was eventually struggling with around 16 thousand pounds. Harry watched with a raised eyebrow at the high level of strength present in the lithe boy.

"Good job. Next we'll test running speed." Tony said not breaking the testing mindset he was in. Harry just smiled at the slightly bewildered look hidden by the gleam of interest in Tony's eyes. Peter started at a brisk 5 mph and climbed steadily to nearly 100 mph before he started huffing and puffing. Harry was impressed by the stats already shown. With Peter still being young he had more growing to do in his powers.

The tests continued in the same fashion over the next hour. His aim was superb, not at the level of the trained marksman on the team, but better than the average shooter. His flexibility was borderline monstrous, matching even the inflated statistics of Natasha. While all of his results were impressive, the reflex test is where Harry and Tony saw something truly extraordinary.

"How long has he been going?" Natasha asked as she walked up behind Harry and Tony. Peter was in a small box like room 10ft on all sides dodging speeding paintballs.

"10 minutes. He'll hit max level in another five minutes, and break the current record in two." Tony said from the side, taking his eyes off Peter just long enough to give her a smirk before focusing back on the test.

"No hits yet and he doesn't even look winded. If you look closely you can see his body reacting before the projectile leaves the barrel." Harry said, pointing out Peter spinning away from a barrel a moment before it fired. "I'm not sure if it's instinct, noise, or some type of precognition, but it's definitely something."

Unfortunately for Pete he was distracted a moment before he broke the record when the training room doors opened letting in a team of mutants. Peter yelped as his focus moved away and a small pink splotch showed him being nicked on the shoulder.

"Hey guys! Are we interrupting anything?" Scott asked as he approached with the group of X-Men trailing behind him.

"Just a new initiate's testing." Harry said waving to the pouting wall-crawler. "Better luck next time Pete." Harry said with a smirk. "I'd like you to meet the X-Men. A group of mutants who go around the world stopping mutant criminals and training young mutants to use their powers."

"Nice to meet you." Peter said, shaking Scotts hand. His attention was pulled away by the person that walked up next as the serious face he put on morphed into a look of glee. "You're Dr. McCoy! I read your latest paper on theoretical medical beds. It was quite inspiring to hear we might have ways of reducing the dangers and costs of surgery by allowing AI to conduct minor surgery!"

"Always glad to meet a fan of my work." Hank said with a toothy smile. "How would it make you feel to know that the Med-Beds aren't as theoretical as my paper purported them to be."

"Really!? Did you already make one? Did it work? Has anyone use-" Peter cut himself off when a smiling Tony laid a hand on his shoulder.

"Slow down there kid. Hank, Harry, Bruce, and Myself all helped craft a Med-Bed that I used to have this done." Tony said tapping the spot an arc reactor used to sit. Peter seemed to freeze in place after that admission causing the adults around him to smirk at one another.

"Alright gang it's time for some actual training. To the side of the room you'll find locker rooms for the men and women." Steve said as he walked to the center of the room. "Go change into your suit and meet back here before we start our scenario training for the day." Harry watched as Tony pushed Pete towards the locker rooms before shaking his head.

"So what's the plan?" Jean asked as she leaned into Scott's side.

"We'll put your newest members and ours up against a few villains we have fought with and some small chitauri groups. This should give us an idea of their combat, strategy, and experience levels." Steve said as crossed his arms.

"We'll be splitting them into solo and group fights before changing the environment during each scenario to see how they adapt." Harry said.

"Where's Ororo?' Jean asked, not seeing the storm mutant anywhere.

"She's spending the day with Teddy. She took it upon herself to start teaching him reading and writing." Natasha said from the side. Jean nodded as a soft smile played across her face.

"She has always loved teaching. When-" Jean was cut off as the loud newbies filled back into the room. Harry looked across them and saw Wanda and Pietro standing next to Peter in his new suit. The only Avengers member going with the new recruits was Sam Wilson, as he has the least amount of missions and isn't on active duty. From the X-Men side Harry recognized most of the new trainees; Kurt or Nightcrawler, Kitty or Shadowcat, and Jubilation Lee or better known as Jubilee. The last, a young man with dark skin was glaring at him fiercely.

"Looks like Evan, Ororo's nephew, has a problem with you." Scott said quietly from the side. Harry looked at Scott only to see him failing to hide a grin.

"Alright listen up." Steve said as he stepped to the front of the group. "We're going to leave this room and set it up for your training today." Harry waved him off.

"We're not doing full scenarios so there's no need." Harry said before suddenly the room around the shifted in a swirl of colors before leaving the entire group standing in a large dome like arena. "Continue." Harry said to Steve as he waved over everyone who wasn't joining and leading them up to an observation area.

Once everyone was standing near the windowed area Harry concentrated for a moment before sound started making its way through the thick glass.

"-ach of you will be doing one on one fights with villains their a member of the Avengers or X-Men have fought. Then a group battle will take place, before finally moving on to real world scenarios. Any questions?" Steve asked as he finished up the explanation.

"No questions then?" Scott asked from beside Steve. "Then let's get started."

AN: Hey guys sorry for the long delay. I've just had a hard time putting pen to paper (metaphorically) and have been working on other projects instead. No matter what happens this story won't be dropped even if I have to force myself ot write, I just want it to be good and I'm a little lost with where I want to go at the moment. So forgive my sporadic schedule and hopefully I'll have some inspiration soon.

Thanks for reading!

Reviews:

Monkey D. Conan - That's one of the things I think I captured pretty well. Most comic book style stories sometimes lack that sense of spontaneity that really drives home the negatives of being a hero. I'm glad you're liking it.

Maverick123214685 - While that's true, he also doesn't know what is in the bubble. It could be radioactive, which the lead would stop, or an airborne virus, also stopped. the problem is it could litterallt be anything so he took it hight enough to basically blast it into space. Just ot clarify something he hasn't quite worked out how ot make a portal from a vacuum to a non-vacuum area.

Vaxadeki - Just to clarify something. The Death that Harry meets is basically the multiversal constant, not a god or goddess, but the true personification of life throughout the universe, multiverse, megaverse, and omniverse.

WN-Bruh - Yeah there are aspects that I'm not fond of throughout my story as I go back over it, but without a major rewrite it isn't feasible to change it now. Once I finish this version, the rewrite would be next (along side my Witcher Raised story). Hope you enjoyed some aspects of it thought.
