It's a beautiful day in Chima; the skies are clear, the weather is mild, and there is a feeling of tranquility all over the place. Eris hums happily while flying around, not a worry on her mind. But suddenly, and confusingly, she starts screaming when her wings suddenly catch fire and drag her down onto the surface.

Luckily for Eris's safety, it turned out to be all a dream. As she learns when she wakes up in fright, which gives Eglor a bit of a fright, too. "Everything okay, Eris?" he asks with concern, as a still-panicked Eris stumbles throughout the room.

Eris falls off the balcony screaming and smashes right through the glass and down towards the ground, managing to fly before she hits it but does it with no control as she goes all over the place.

"LAVAL!" she cries out, as she uncontrollably flies past a heap of civilians who are relaxing, including Nerium, Bladvic, and Gorzan. "Was that Eris?!" Nerium asked her new friends, who responded with shrugs, as none had gotten a good look at her.

Meanwhile, on the Forever Rock, Cragger and Laval play basketball with Chi, Laval tripping Cragger up and rushing to the hoop. "Oh yeah! Lion got gain!" Laval brags annoyingly, as he shoots the goal in laughter and causes Cragger to growl good naturally.

Suddenly, Eris comes flying in and into the hoop, causing her to fall and stop the madness. "Woah, Eris! Are you okay?" Laval asks, rushing towards his friend's side with concern.

"I feel like I'm still on fire," Eris tells him, on the verge of hysterics, as she continuously pats her wings. "Hey, if you saw my last shot here, you'd say I was the one on fire!" Laval replies arrogantly, inadvertently sounding like a douche while doing so.

"No! A bad dream, a very bad dream!" Eris said firmly, still hyperventilating as she thought back to it. "The one with the dark cave?!" Cragger asks in fear, not realizing what he has said. "Huh?" Eris said baffled, locking towards the Croc with mild worry.

"Oh, uh... Nothing." Cragger replied embarrassed, awkwardly scratching the back of her head.

"But this dream felt so real! I completely burst into flames; it was terrifying! And a little empowering at the same time." Eris explained, feeling a little bashful about it."Don't worry, Eris. Everything's great in Chima now, we're all friends! Our dads gave us sweet new rides." Laval reassures her, pointing toward their new vehicles.

"And we have more CHI we know what to do with!" Cragger added excitedly, tossing up an orb."And you're not even listening-" Eris pointed out annoyed, while Cragger and Laval plugged their chi and passed another orb to each other.

"Hm..." she grunted as the two continued to pass the ball cheerfully. "Now, watch this!" Cragger said, ignoring her as he kicked the orb into the hoop. "Yes!" he cheered for himself. "Lucky shot," Laval said dismissively, playfully antagonistic towards his friend.

"Laval, I'm trying to tell you something!" Eris yelled out, exasperated, tired of being ignored! "Ah, and you have my full attention," Laval told her apologetically, turning towards her before G'Loona, Wanold, and Skales Jr. popped out from behind.

"Laval, Cragger!" G'Loona cried out, running over to Cragger while Wanold ran to Laval, hugging both. "Can you tell us again about how you beat those evil tribes in the Outlands?" G'Loona asked, pleading at him with a grin on her face.

"Yeah! Tell us! Tell us! TELL US!" Wanold and Skales Jr. chanted, as they hopped up and down in anticipation.

"We were right in the middle of something." Eris tried to say before Cragger got in her way. "Oh, oh, oh, oh! It was only the most awesome fate in the history of Chima!" he began, overly dramatically.

"Ugh!" Eris sighed, knowing exactly where this was going. "Yes. Eight heroes, one goal." Laval continued, matching the croc's vibe. "A land of endless peril, and ferocious foes." Cragger continued, setting the scene.

"They said it couldn't be done, but we had a choice." Laval followed up, upping up the drama of it all. "Oh, brother. Not this again." Eris commented from the sidelines, no longer bothering to try to stop this. "We had to save Chima!" the two announced with flair, Eris rolling her eyes behind them.

Meanwhile, an army begins to gather in the Outlands, in the newly resurfaced Basilisk Temple. From atop her new fortress, Aspheera looks over towards the floating mountain in the distance, glaring at it while deep in thought.

From inside, Pythor slithers towards her, the Anacondrai general annoyed with her delay. "We're waiting on you, Your Majesty!" he says with as much sarcastic vile as possible. Still, the ancient sorceress remains silent, so with newfound intrigue, he approaches.

But before he can usher a single word, Aspheera speaks up. "Much has changed since my imprisonment." she tells him, still deep in thought, "This new land, this Chima! It intrigues me!" she says, turning towards him as she enters the temple once again.

"Tell me, are the troops prepared? We have no time to waste! If we are to become these land's new rulers, we must act fast!" she tells him, impatient as always in her quest.

"They are already gathered and ready to go!" Pythor informs her, ever punctual with his troop's movements. "But tell me, what exactly is the plan here?!" he demands to know, having enough of her charades and needing to know if there was actually a plan.

"You, yourself said your powers weren't strong enough for a direct assault! And the troops are still inexperienced with real combat!" he told her pointedly as they descended towards the bottom. "So, what is the real move here? Because if I didn't know any better, I'd say you have no idea what to do!" he accused, glaring at the self-appointed monarch, thoughts of betrayal forming in his mind.

"I'll have you know I have an excellent plan! Finding my staff must take priority above all else, and I know exactly where it is!" she informs her skeptical partner. "And where may I pray is that!?" he asks, as Aspheera merely smiles, as they reach the front exit of the massive structure.

"Look up!" was all she said, as she slithers forwards to address her troops. Doing as he was told, Pythor focused on the only thing above them, Mount Cavora! "You can't be serious!" he exclaimed, dumbstruck at whatever plot the witch had cooked up.

"My faithful army! I, Aspheera, first queen of the Serpentine, call upon you today! Once, long ago, I was banished from my home and magically entombed in this land for the crime of wanting more for my people! No more!" she cried out, gaining the gathered crowd's attention.

"For too long, our kind has been forced to slither beneath the oppressive foot of the surface dealers. Kept from our rightful price by so-called defenders and peacekeepers!" she said with disdain. But no more. It is time we make our ancestors proud, the time we laid claim to the lands we so rightfully deserve!" she continued, further rallying up the crowd.

"My staff, the source of my great power, was taken by them long ago. And it is time we take it back!" she said, with the poise and commanding presence of a true ruler. "We must travel north, towards the mountain in the heavens, to the very heart of this new kingdom! We must crush them, and any who might stand in our way!" she exclaimed loudly, as the crowd erupted into a cacophony of screams.

"First, we shall find a way out of these "Outlands" and begin our conquest of the land. Then, we will strike from the shadows and lay claim to their precious chi! And then, when the power of nature is at our command, we will ascent the very heaven and claim what was stolen from us! Once and for all!" she finished, the eager cheers of her troops a welcome sound to the mad despot's ears.

"Oh bother, at least she knows how to spin a good story!" Pythor mumbled from behind, still in disbelief at the madwoman's schemes. With a sigh, he slithers forward, hoping to find a way to claim victory from the coming madness.

Meanwhile, back in Chima, another tale had just finished being told. "We finally freed all the beasts and returned to Chima. Where Mount Cavora was reborn anew." Cragger and Laval finished their tale with flair, much to their audience's joy.

"YES! Wow! Woohoo!" G'Loona, Wanold, and Skales Jr. cheered with childlike wonder. They had heard the story before, but it was different hearing from those who had lived it firsthand.

"But... Whatever happened to all those bad tribes?" Junior asked as his friend's cries died down, the young serpent concerned about the fate of those who had caused his tribe so much strife.

"No idea," Cragger admitted, uncertain what had become of their once hated foes. "Still trapped in that cave I guess?" Laval said, thinking back at his final interaction with them. He hoped they were doing well and would see the error of their ways and join them someday.

Back in the Outlands, inside the scorpion cave, Scolder and Scutter approach Scorm with some chi. "King Scorm! Look at what we've saved for you! All the stolen Chi!" Scutter told his master with glee, hoping this discovery would bring him out of his funk.

"This power could free us! And helped punish those who trapped us here." Scolder advised his leader, hoping to gain favor with him, but Scorm wasn't having it!

"Never!" he cried out, pushing the chi into the crack like he had done with his reserves prior. "That chi has brought us nothing but trouble! Dump it all, where no one will find it!" he ordered, having had enough of the Chi and the complicated feeling it awakened in him.

"What?!" Scolder and Scutter both yelled with surprise, unsure what to do with the order. But a look at their king's face told them he was serious, so without wasting a moment they threw their Chi down the orb, unknowing what dangers they had unwillingly awaken.

Back in the forest, Cragger and Laval ride their new giant tanks through the forest with Eris flying up ahead. "I wish we could go on a big mission like you guys someday," G'Loona said, riding along with her friends in Laval's tank. "Yeah! And fight big bad bug guys!" Junior added, ever eager to prove himself as a warrior.

"Well, kids! Y'know, it wasn't all fun and glory." Eris, ever the responsible one, tried to warn the young once, only for Laval to bud in. "Oh, come on! There was plenty of fun and glory! And-" "Laval!" Eris cried out interruptedly, scolding the lion for his lack of tack.

"I mean... We might've struggled for a moment or two." Laval corrected himself, humble as always. "Yeah! That just made the fun and glory even sweeter!" Cragger added, excitable as always, as Laval couldn't help but join in the fanfare.

"Woohoo!" they yelled out, lifting both their tank's front wheels up and down repeatedly out of fun.

"Great! But you forgot to mention the part where we never recovered most of the stolen chi." Eris pointed out, cutting their celebration short, as she gave the two a knowing look.

"Aww, come on. Details, details." Laval said dismissively, "Yeah, don't be a party pooper, Eris." Cragger agreed, giving their concerned friend a wave of the hand. "I'm not a party pooper. That was a lot of Chi, and chi doesn't stay still, it wants to be used!" Eris pointed out to them, angered by how dismissive they were being at a very serious problem.

"Uh... Are you mad at us, Eris?" Laval asked apprehensively, not wanting to anger her any further. "What makes you say that?!" she replied offended, not able to comprehend why her close friend would ask such a thing, as if it wasn't obvious!

"Because you're shouting?" Cragger dared to ask, ignorant to what he had unleashed. "I'M NOT SHOUTING!" Eris said, clearly shouting in rage and indignation.

"Is it because we didn't listen to your fire dream before?" Laval asked, desperately trying to disarm the situation, while not inciting the ire of the eagle.

"No! I mean... Yes, actually, it is. And you've been ignoring me a lot lately. And yes, kids, those tribes stole a lot of chi. And it's still out there, somewhere, just waiting to... Uh..." she said at a loss for words.

"Tear us into flaming birds?" Cragger tried, humorously, as Laval chuckled in the background. Not finding the humor in the situation, Eris growls in annoyance and flies away.

Noting this, Laval lets out a sigh and calls out saying, "Hey, Eris! We're sorry!" as he chases after her. "We were just having fun! We didn't mean to make you upset! Come on back!" he cried out to no avail, his friend too far ahead to listen to him, a pouting expression upon her features.

Back inside the scorpion cave, Scorm and the other scorpions continue with their efforts to rid themselves of the Chi. "Keep it coming you dolts! This Chi has brought us nothing but trouble!"

"Here you go, boss!" Scutter said, bringing two bags full of orbs to dispose of. "I'm not your boss! I'm your king, you fool!" Scorm told him, with annoyance, still in a bad mood after the whole ordeal.

"Yeah, dummy! He's the king, now dump the orbs and get it over with!" Scolder said as he and Scrug dumped their contents down the gorge. "Uh, your majesty? If you don't mind me asking, are you sure this is fine?" Scrug asked, slightly concerned about just dumping the orbs further down the gorge.

"It's fine! Just get rid of them!" he ordered, not wanting to think about it anymore, "Besides. What's the worst that can happen." he said dismissively, not knowing what truly laid down the icy abyss.

Meanwhile, on the surface, Aspheera and her forces began their march across the Outland, their only goal to conquer it all for their queen. Yet not all in her service were eager at this task, as Pythor, both General and Advisor of the Snake Warriors, was anything but happy about it.

"Do you even know what you're doing?!" Pythor irritated asked, "Making it out of these wretched lands will be hard enough!" he pointed out forcefully, "But you want us to march straight to the heart of Chima with but a handful of soldiers!" he finally exclaimed with exasperation.

"Yes, was I not clear enough on this?" Aspheera repaid sarcastically, mocking the General. "Then you are crazier than I thought! The second they see us they will call for reinforcements, and all will be lost!" Pythor assured her with irritation, sick of her brash and short-sighted attitude.

"Not if we do the same." She countered smugly, "The others will bow to my authority, I'm sure of it! And if not, we only need to buy enough time to grab our price." she assured him confidently. "Once the staff is within my hand, I shall have absolute power! And no one shall ever dare stand in our way!" she told him, a sinister grin wide on her face.

"What is so special about that staff anyway?!" Pythor asked her, doubtful of her claims, yet still intrigued. "More than you shall ever know! Now, enough chit-chat, the troops need your assistance!" she said dismissively, pointing her subordinate onwards, where a group of Vermillion struggled against a tangle of Predator Plants.

Later that day, on the Lion Temple marketplace, the time for a new race had arrived. Still rattled by the last one, the public where eager to see how this one would turn out. As the many stalls filled themselves, with every vendor eager to sell their wares, a sense of excitement filled the air.

"Get your rocks here! Now with two flavours! High and soft!" Rogan called out eagerly from his tribe's stall. In his hands he held two identical rocks, taking a bite out of one of them as if it were no big deal.

Plovar too joined in the fun, advertising his services, "Spoil yourself today, in our new bubble spa! Skinnit, can you give us a demonstration?" Skinnit farts stink into the spa turning the water green, scaring away Cragger while Nerium glared at them with indignant rage.

"Step right up, my friends! And get your portrait painted on a real-life replica legend beast!" Razar calls out, with Wanold sitting behind him on a poorly made wooden lion. He hands Wanold his sketch, who eagerly takes it before getting a good look at it.

"Hey! This doesn't look anything like a legend beast. And your painting of me stink-" he begins to complain, before howling while he's sent flying by the raven's spring trap.

"Next customer please." Razar casually continues, unconcerned with his previous customer, who lands in Plovar's spa and immediately goes out because of Skinnit stinking up the water.

While further ahead, Bladvic snores soundly in front of Eri's trinket stall. "You'll love this, Bladvic! Eglor built an alarm clock that whispers. So, it can be loud-" she says, turning on the alarm clock as it makes a loud noise, though Bladvic stays asleep. "And really soft like this." she continues in a whisper, as the clock's volume turns down, startling Bladvic awake.

"Wow! I'll never be able to sleep through that! I'll take it!" Bladvic says excitedly, eager to take the clock home. "I think you'll be really happy, and-" Eris says before she starts screaming because she hallucinates of catching on fire, so she starts to run around in circles while yelling "Hot!". To cool off she runs all the way to the spa while chanting the word "Hot!" again and jumps right in with Skinnit.

"Woah. Close one. Glad this water was here; I'd never be able to put out those flames," she says with relief, much to everyone's confusion. "Uh... What flames?" Plovar asks, flying towards her with trepidation.

"I was just on fire; didn't you guys see?" Eris says franticly, as everyone around her laughs. "Sorry, bird girl, but all I saw was a whole lot of crazy leaping into my bubble spa. Flames NOT Included." Plovar said seriously, much to Eris's chagrin.

"But... But... First that dream, and now I'm seeing things while awake?" she growls in frustration, hastily getting out of the water as she finally registers the smell.

Meanwhile, on the racetrack, the crowd cheers wildly as the racers pass by; with Cragger and Laval in the lead. "IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK ON OUR HOME TRACK!" Laval cried out, finally allowed to enjoy himself once again.

"Even better to be winning on our home track!" Cragger said exited, revving up for more speed. "I couldn't agree more!" Woriz said suddenly, pushing through Cragger and Laval to first place.

"Hey!" Laval cried out indignantly before he and Cragger noticed a ramp with a ring of fire right in front of it. Thinking fast, Cragger goes through while Laval goes over it, as he goes by.

The crowd grows wild, as Gorzan comes up to the ring and goes through it, cooking his banana on its flame. "Rain down bananas!" he cries excitedly, as he speeds up towards the others.

Still trying to gain on Woriz, Laval pulls out an orb of Chi. "What are you doing? It's almost impossible to control your steer with chi." Cragger warned as he saw him.

"Maybe for you, it is!" Laval retorts confidently, as he plugs a chi and speeds up. "Oh no you don't!" Cragger says, plugging his own chi and speeding up to Laval, deciding to join him.

Both Cragger and Laval go beyond Woriz, with the latter not too pleased about it. "Will you stop that?!" he cried out indignantly, struggling to keep up. Further ahead, the group came across a sharp turn, alarming them as to how to turn it.

"Oh no." Laval cried out determined and used a grappling hook to hang onto a rock so he could turn the corner. "Ha! Two can play at that game!" Cragger says confidently, using his spear attached to a rope to grapple onto the same rock and turn the corner while laughing.

"Dudes! That's crazy!" Gorzan says, looking on with awe, slowing down as he makes the turn. Coming up to another corner, Cragger and Laval look to do the same thing, but their ropes rip apart and they're sent off the track while screaming and landing into a bush.

"Wow, that's gotta hurt!" Woriz said smugly, inwardly laughing at his rivals' misfortune. Meanwhile, Gorzan manages to rush past Woriz, "Dude! I'm in first!" he says excitedly, as his fellow gorillas cheer.

"What?" Woriz cried out in disbelief. "Celebration banana!" Gorzan says before he eats his banana and accidentally throws the peel into Woriz's face so he can't see.

"What?!" Woriz cries again, as he takes away the peel from his eyes and growls at Gorzan, who's about to win.

Soon, Gorzan goes past the finish line and wins, to the delight of his fellow tribemates. "I dedicate this winter to everyone in Chima! I love you all!" he says, accidentally hitting Woriz behind him as he spreads his arms in celebration.

Later, outside the Lion Temple, the ceremony is well on its way as Laval performs in his father's place. "Use it well, use it wisely!" he says gladly, giving Gorzan the golden chi, as the Gorillas hoot in celebration.

Woriz growls in frustration, only for Laval to grab his attention. "Oh, come on, Woriz! It's been a long time since the gorillas won a race! Can't you be happy for them?" Laval asks him, pleading with him with a sincere smile.

"Ugh! This is me being happy!" he relents, forcing a strained smile on his face. Cragger and Laval share a laugh and then go to celebrate with the gorillas by chanting the word "dude" with them.

All the while, back in the Outlands, the Snake warriors had finally made it to the border. "Hold it!" Pythor cries out from atop his Vermillion Invader, as the troops stop before hitting the river.

"What's the meaning of this!" Aspheera asks with annoyance, standing next to Pythor. "These rivers are toxic; we won't make it through them! We'll have to find another way across!" he explained, preparing to lead the troops elsewhere.

"We can't do that! This is the fastest route to the mountain! We must march forward!" Aspheera demanded, ushering the troops to keep going. "We can't afford to lose any men out here! With our ship not yet ready, we have to take any advantage we can get! We'll find another course!" Pythor rebuddled, unwavering in his stance!

It looked like a fight might break down, but fortunately, another voice reached their ears. "Worry nod, my lieges! Cobra Mechanics, onwards!" Commander Machia called out, as the orange tint serpents marched forward with great metal slabs.

"We prepared for such an eventuality!" she said proudly, as within seconds the Mechanics had constructed a solid steel bridge across the waterways. Both leaders looked onwards, impressed at the commander's foresight.

"Excellent work as always, Machia!" "I expect nothing less of my finest servant!" they both said in unison, casually returning to their rides. "I aim to please, my grace!" Machia said gratefully, before joining her squadron on the front lines.

While her previous one looked on in jealousy, "I aim to please!" Raggmunk and Blunk mocked from behind her back. "Give me a break!" they said in unison, rolling their eyes as they marched with the soldiers along the path.

The celebration was still going strong in the marketplace, as the gorillas continued celebrating Gorzan's victory. All the while, Laval went around inviting all their friends to their own celebration.

"Bonfire at the Forever Rock later! We're gonna hang out and toast some marshmallows! Are you coming?" Laval asked Rogon, giving him a rundown of the event. "Good friends, good rocks, what could be better?" Rogon said eagerly, happy to spend some time with his buds.

Spotting Eris up ahead, Laval eagerly went to invite her, "Hey, Eris! Cragger and I are throwing a little thing at the Forever Rock!" he said excitedly, wanting her to join them in the fun.

But Eris didn't share his enthusiasm, "Cragger and you? It's always Cragger and you!" she said frustratedly, not too pleased with the news. "Uh... Is there something wrong?" Laval asked concerned, not getting why she was so bothered with it.

With a heavy sight, Eris vented her frustration at him, "It used to be me and you, and now you two do everything together, and all I do is-

"Splash about in the stink spa?" Cragger buts in, laughing until Laval pushes him back to tell him to stop it. "I wasn't going to say anything," Laval told her apologetically, not wanting to earn the ire of his friend. "Me neither... HOT WINGS!" Cragger commented, laughing while walking away, unable to read the room.

"Look, Eris. I'm sorry we haven't hung out more, but I've just been so happy that everything's back to normal in Chima again." Laval explained sincerely, a wide-eyed smile on his face as he gestured around him.

Only for the moment to be ruined, by Razar dragging the wooden replica of the lion legend beast right in front of them. "More or less normal." He adds apprehensively, as he watches Razar move along, "It's been so long since we can just play." he tells her, pleading with her to join them.

Eris couldn't find it in herself to remain angry with him. While it was true the two of them had grown closer during the war, having been a supporting shoulder to lean on when her home was lost, he had also lost much.

A large part of his childhood had been stricken from him, his best friend had been turned against him, and his home had also been taken away. He deserved this moment of levity, and she should be mad at him for enjoying it.

"I know. I didn't mean to spoil your fun, but... I... I don't know. I'm worried. And these dreams about bursting into flames?" she said to him, the concern clear in her voice as she looked down. "You just need to relax. Join us for a big ol' fire at the Forever Rock!" Laval told her kindly, stretching a friendly arm towards her.

"Fire?..." Eris replies apprehensively, changing her gaze to look straight at him. "With wood! No burning wings, I promise. So, what do you say?" he reassures her jokingly, offering her a kind smile.

Eris thinks about it for a second and nods in agreement, they were right after all! Spending time with her friends would do her some good and help her clear things up.

Later that night, all their friends were gathered at Forever Rock; even their new Serpentine friends showed up. Under the warm light of the campfire, they laughed and shared stories, enjoying their time together.

"You should consider yourself lucky, Eris, to get dunked with the skunk! Skinnit believes skunks created Chima with their stink!" Laval told her jokingly, as everyone joined in on the laughter.

"That's just wrong! Everyone knows the mother of mud shed her scales, and Chima was born!" Cragger said, revealing his tribe's creation myth with pride

"Oh, come on, that's an old crocs tale. Chima actually started cause of something called, the great fix it..." Bezar of the beavers said, before being interrupted by his tribemates "fix it... fix it... fix it..." chant.

"Uh-uh! It was the great dream." Bladvic added groggily, lending his two cents on the matter. "Sorry, my friends! But the master thief stole Mount Cavora from the land and hid it in plain sight." Razar budded in, proudly retelling his own tribe's beliefs.

"Wait! Does everyone have their own take on the great story?" Laval asked, genuinely intrigued, as he had not thought the story differed so much in each tribe.

"We were all hatched from rocks! So, uh... Be careful next time you kick a rock! It might be one of my ancestors." Rogon says, seriously warning them. "Dudes, the real truth is, this like massive tower flower lifted Mount Cavora into the sky!" Gorzan said philosophically in a chill voice.

"Mount Cavora wasn't lifted up by some big flower! It was obviously the howl of the mother wolf that raised it from the earth!" Woriz intervened assertively, steadfast in his people's beliefs.

Soon, everyone except for Laval, Eris, and the Serpentine began to argue. "Wrong!" "The mother wolf!" "The mother of mud!" Rogon, Woriz, and Cragger argued, with Woriz howling to make a point.

"No, it was the mother of mud!" Cragger retorts, before the beavers step in, "FIX IT! FIX IT! FIX IT!" they shout passionately.

"Hey, hey! Respect! We may have slightly different details, but we all believe in some form of the great story, right? Mount Cavora rose, and Chima was born." Laval reminded them, defusing the situation before it escalated anymore.

"Yeah, but what about before it rose? Before the great story, what was here then?" Eris asks out of the blue, finally voicing one of the thoughts haunting her mind for a while.

"Uh... I don't know, Eris! There was just... Stuff. Nothing important, and if it was important, someone would've told us about it already." Laval replied stumped, not sure how to answer that.

"Maybe they don't know. I can't help feeling there's more to Chima's history than we've ever imagined." Eris said all of a sudden, getting the others to stop and start thinking. Seeing the other lost in thought, Laval decided to break the ice.

"So, what's your guys' creation story?" he asked their Serpentine friends, intrigued by the outsider's perspective. Intrigued by this, they all turned towards them, no one really knowing where the snakes had come from.

"Oh, you know. Neigh omnipotent being making us from the ground to fight against an unspeakable evil. Normal stuff!" Chan said casually, much to the other Serpentine's amusement. As each of them began to giggle, unsurprised by their friend's casual attitude, with the other tribes soon joining them.

"Hey, has it gotten colder here?" Eris suddenly said as a foreboding chill reached her. "I'll put another log on the fire! anything for you... HOT WINGS!" Cragger said, humorously. They all burst into laughter, and Eris coming to accept that it was just a dream, laughs too.

Meanwhile, on the border between Chima and the Outlands, another group set camp for the night. The Snake Warriors had reached their destination, now firmly on Chima's soil, the group began to make plans.

"We will approach from the Swamps, we'll take their warriors out before they can get reinforcements, before taking their Chi and moving straight towards the mountain from the east," Pythor said as he and Machia reviewed battle strategies, the Anacondrai proving his worth as a strategist.

"We'll also set a temporary base camp in the Croc's Stronghold, gathering the rest of our forces before moving to the rest of Chima!" he added to the delight of his men. "What if their Serpentine allies aid in their defense?" Machia asks, voicing her concern as she looks over the plan.

"Then we see if the legends are true!" Pythor says with intrigue, "Your namesake was supposed to be the fiercest, strongest, warriors the Serpentine had ever seen!" he revealed to them, further raising their spirits. "It's about time we see how true that is!" he told them, confident in his soldier's prowess.

Meanwhile, the other member of their leadership was preoccupied with her thoughts. Aspheera stared intently at Cavora, floating peacefully in the distance, wondering what had happened to make it that way.

"What happened in my absence, my teachers? Did fear of my return drive you back to the heavens? Or did HE have something to do with it!" she said to herself, reminiscing of time long past.

How long had it been, she wondered, unable to tell how much time she had spent in her prison. "Ultimately, it matters not! I will have what belongs to me! My staff, and the secrets laid within, shall once again be mine!" she said, as thoughts of the old naginata, and the parchment wrapped around its hilt.

"Then you will pay for what you did to me! You'll all pay!" she said, the fires of her rage igniting in her very soul. Soon, that fire will spread throughout the land, and all will know her rage!

All the while, bellow the depths of the catacombs, one of the orbs Scorm fell through the crack, finished releasing its energy through the ice and towards the strange saber-tooth figure trapped within.

As the energy travels through him, azured eyes glow with intensity, before settling in the long, silver spear in his hands. A frozen piece of parchment glowing with great forbidden power, as the energy amasses within its long-worn ink, revitalizing its long-forgotten might.

Then, with a burst of sheer elemental might, the ice cracks, glowing blue veins spreading on its surface. It's wielders eyes open wide, as he claws his way toward freedom.

The cold chill of death follows his every move, as he is reborn into the dark embrace of the world. This hunter of a bygone era, returned to finish his greatest hunt yet...

All of Chima!

Author's Notes:

We're finally at season 3, the stage is set for the battle of fire and ice! New mysteries are revealed, new questions are asked, and the lands of Chima shall never be the same.

I know some are apprehensive about adding the ice hunters while Aspheera is still at large, but their stories are tied in such a way that they need to be connected. Without them, the Snake Warriors and the Vermillion are barely a nuisance. Without being made of multiple little snakes, the new Vermillion are just really strong Serpentine, capable warriors but not enough to conquer Chima.

Besides, I need a way to bring the Pyro Vipers into the frey, which means the Pheonix are gonna have to be involved. But don't worry, the threat of Aspheera is far from over!

Hope you enjoy it, and leave a comment!
