Chapter 3: A Gift from the Sky
Morning Discoveries

The warm rays of the morning sun filtered through the trees as Goku stretched outside his hut, yawning loudly. Kara floated nearby, testing her newfound abilities.

"This yellow sun is incredible," she said, hovering effortlessly in the air. Her voice carried a mix of awe and delight. "On Krypton, I couldn't do any of this. But here, I can fly, hear for miles, and—" She turned her head sharply as she focused on a distant sound. "That turtle sounds like it's in trouble."

"A turtle?" Goku asked, tilting his head.

Without waiting, Kara soared toward the sound. Goku grabbed his Power Pole and followed on foot, sprinting through the forest. Bulma trailed behind on her motorcycle, muttering about how she couldn't keep up with superpowered aliens.

When they reached the riverbank, they found a large, exhausted sea turtle struggling to move forward. Its shell was dusty, and it appeared completely lost.

"Hey, little guy," Goku said, crouching beside the turtle. "What's wrong?"

"I'm trying to get back to the ocean," the turtle wheezed. "But I've been lost for so long… I'm so tired…"

"No problem!" Goku said with a grin. "We'll help you!"

The Turtle's Request

The group spent the next several hours helping the turtle navigate the terrain. Kara floated above, keeping an eye out for potential dangers, while Goku and Bulma walked alongside the turtle, chatting and occasionally offering snacks.

By the time they reached the ocean, the turtle turned to them gratefully. "Thank you all for your kindness," it said, bowing its head. "Please wait here—I'll be right back with someone who wants to meet you."

Goku sat cross-legged on the beach, staring out at the waves. "I wonder who it could be," he said.

Bulma stretched her legs. "I hope it's someone interesting. I could use a good story after all this walking."

Kara, hovering in the air, crossed her arms. "Whoever it is, they'd better not waste our time. We still have Dragon Balls to find."

Master Roshi Appears

A few hours later, the turtle returned with a peculiar figure riding on its back. It was an old man wearing sunglasses, a tropical shirt, and carrying a wooden staff. He stepped off the turtle and approached the group with a broad grin.

"Hello, youngsters! I'm Master Roshi, the Turtle Hermit," he said. "My friend here told me how you helped him. I just had to come and thank you personally!"

Roshi tapped his staff on the ground, summoning a golden cloud from the sky. It floated gently above the group, shimmering in the sunlight.

"This is the Flying Nimbus," Roshi explained. "It's a magical cloud that only those with a pure heart can ride. As thanks for your kindness, I'd like to offer it to one of you."

"Cool!" Goku said, his eyes lighting up. "Let me try!"

Roshi stepped back and gestured for him to climb on. To everyone's amazement, the cloud accepted Goku immediately, lifting him high into the air. Goku laughed with delight as he soared above their heads.

"This is awesome!" he shouted.

Bulma tried next, but the cloud refused to let her sit. "What the heck?!" she huffed, stomping back to the ground.

Kara raised an eyebrow. "Pure heart, huh?" She floated onto the cloud, and to her mild surprise, it accepted her too. However, she quickly stepped off. "I don't need this," she said to Goku. "You keep it—you'll get more use out of it than I will."

Goku beamed. "Thanks, Kara!"

Kara watched him play with the cloud, her skepticism about Saiyans starting to waver. "He really is pure-hearted," she thought.

Master Roshi's Dragon Ball

As the group prepared to leave, Bulma noticed something gleaming around Roshi's neck. She gasped. "That's a Dragon Ball! The three-star ball!"

Roshi chuckled, holding it up. "Oh, this old thing? It's been my lucky charm for years."

"Can we have it?" Goku asked, his excitement growing.

"Well…" Roshi said, rubbing his chin. "I'd be willing to part with it… but only if you do something for me."

"What do you want?" Bulma asked.

Roshi grinned slyly, his sunglasses glinting in the sunlight. "I'd like to see a pretty girl… uh, model her swimsuit for me."

Kara's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?!"

Bulma sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I knew this was too good to be true."

"No way am I doing that!" Kara said, her voice filled with disgust.

Bulma rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll do it. We need that Dragon Ball." She pulled a swimsuit from her bag—Bulma always came prepared—and reluctantly modeled it for the old man, who laughed with glee.

When it was over, Roshi handed over the Dragon Ball. "Here you go! A deal's a deal!"

Bulma snatched the ball, glaring at him. "You're lucky this is important."

Kara crossed her arms, her face twisted in disapproval. "I can't believe you gave in to that pervert."

Bulma shrugged. "It's called strategy. We got what we came for, didn't we?"

Kara muttered something under her breath, still seething as the group set off.

As they continued their journey, Goku rode happily on his Nimbus while Kara flew beside him. Despite her lingering disgust at Roshi's antics, she couldn't help but notice Goku's unshakable innocence and kindness.

"Maybe," she thought, "not all Saiyans are monsters after all."
