School of Chaos Chapter 3
Cold blizzards blow in the air on a peaceful day until an energy blast fires in the sky. Eleven different artifacts float, and eleven glowing figures engage in battle. A giant creature begins fighting as eleven symbols appear. Lincoln wakes up in shock from the dream. "What was that?" Lincoln says, trying his best to calm down. Before he can do anything else, he hears a familiar. "Is everything okay, Lincoln?" a voice says. Lincoln looks up and sees Lily next to him.
"Oh, yes Lily, I'm okay, just had a bad dream," Lincoln said, rubbing his head. Lily looked at him and noticed something was wrong. "Linky, are you sure everything is? It feels like something is bothering you, please tell me." "Yes, it's just some strange dreams I've been having lately," Lincoln explained. "It feels like they are trying to tell me something, but what? Just some weird and strange stuff pops up in my dreams."
Lily looks away and then back at him, knowing what to say. "Well, I don't know much about it but sometimes dreams warn us about things like change or other events," she says, stopping to hold Lincoln hand. "After I came back from the mall and headed back to your room, you weren't there. I got worried as time passed, thinking you were never coming back home, like something bad had happened to you. I just don't know what would happen if..."
Lily tried follow the example, but tears started to fall from her eyes. Lincoln saw this and wasted no time in hugging her. "Lily, I am so sorry for causing you and the rest of our sisters to worry. I promise that won't happen again," Lincoln said, finally calming Lily's crying. "Pinky promise?" Lily asked, "Pinky promise," Lincoln replied, making a pinky promise. With that, Lincoln looked at the time and knew it was time to get ready.
"Well, it's time to get ready for school," Lincoln said, helping Lily up. "Okay," Lily replied, and with that, they left the room. However, Lincoln couldn't help but think about the dream he had seen. He shook his head and started heading out of his room. With that, all the Loud siblings got ready and were in the van. Lori first drove to Royal Woods Elementary to drop off Lisa, Lola, Lana, Lucy, Lily, and Lincoln. Then she went to the middle school to drop off Lynn Jr. and Luan. Finally, she headed to the high school to drop off Luna, Leni, and herself, thinking that her friends at school would help her out of the crazy day she had been having. But what they didn't know was that the Loud kids would soon learn they would never be normal again.
At Royal Wood High School, Lori was in her chemistry class with her best friend Carol and her boyfriend Bobby. Both of them were glad to have Lori back in class. While Lori explained what happened to her and her sibling, she omitted the part about the orb. Meanwhile, the three of them continued working on their group project when their teacher, Mrs. Emily came to check on their work.
"Good job, you three. Keep up the great work," Mrs. Emily says. Before she could say anything else, she received a phone call. "I'll be back, but make sure not to overmix the chemical as it can cause a fire," Mrs. Emily says as she walks out of the classroom, closing the door.
As she left the class, everyone resumed their work, but one person who always hated Lori was determined to see her fail. Jake, who was the same height as Lori, had black hair, wore a dark shirt with a flaming skull, blue pants, and black Air Force shoes. "Good job to the one who always bosses around," a classmate remarked sarcastically. Feeling provoked, Lori snapped back at Jake, "Leave me alone!" Jake, spotting an opportunity, grinned maliciously. "Why should I? You love being in charge, don't you? I can't fathom why someone like you even has friends," he taunted, causing Lori's grip on the table to tighten, her anger simmering. Carol Pingrey stood up for her friend, "Back off, leave Lori alone!" But Jake was relentless, jeering, "Oh, your friend is here to shield you from danger? Act tough, but you're just weak." Lori's patience was wearing thin. Bobby, trying to defuse the tension, reassured her, "Don't listen to him; he's just a jerk."
Lori's anger escalated with each passing moment, causing the room to grow hotter. Chemicals began to react, the table and chairs heated up, and students felt the burning heat without understanding why. Despite this, Jack continued to bully Lori. "Lori, you are the bossiest person I have ever met. I would hate to be related to someone like you. You are nothing and will always be nothing," he sneered. Before Jack could say another word, Lori reached her limit. Whirling around, her eyes blazed with fury as she shouted, "LEAVE ME ALONE!" The intensity of her scream triggered a catastrophe; chemical tubes shattered, flames engulfed the table and chairs, and Jack was suddenly ablaze, his pain and terror filling the air. The horror was palpable, with everyone, including Lori, frozen in fear. At that moment, Ms. Mary re-entered the room, her eyes widening in shock at the sight of her burning classroom and Jack, consumed by flames.
"What happened?" Mrs. Emily exclaimed, struggling to comprehend the situation while recognizing the urgent need to lead her students to safety and call for emergency services for Jack. "Hurry, class, leave the classroom immediately!" she commanded. The students promptly evacuated the room, spilling into the corridor. Lori, Carol, and Bobby stuck together as they ran, although Bobby was bewildered by the sudden chaos. Once the students had cleared out of Mrs. Emily's classroom, the remnants of the crisis were evident: Lori's handprint was etched into the tabletop, burned into the wood from her intense grip, leaving behind a dark, indelible mark. Moments after Lori's departure, the school's power failed, plunging the hallways into pitch darkness.
During English class, Leni listened attentively as Mr. Willon outlined the students' assignments. "Ok students, today I want you to write about your future aspirations and the goals you'll set to achieve them," Mr. Willon instructed, prompting a smile from Leni. 'I want to be a fashion designer,' she thought to herself. Suddenly, a classmate jeered, "Look, the airhead's daydreaming again," igniting laughter across the room. This mockery disheartened Leni, and coincidentally, a strong gust of wind began to buffet the classroom.
"Jen, cease this behavior immediately," Mr. Willon commands, but Jen merely grins and continues her rant. "Why would you think your idea has any merit? It is as ridiculous as you are, Leni," she taunts, provoking laughter from the class. Tears fill Leni's eyes as a powerful wind starts to howl, swirling through the classroom. The mocking laughter is soon overwhelmed by the roaring wind. As the wind dies down moments later, Leni observes the newfound silence. Her classmates are strewn across the floor, with Jen comically stuck in a trash can, a book jammed in her mouth, and another resting on her head. A sense of relief floods Leni, thankful that the taunting has ceased, yet confused about the wind's origin. Her contemplation is cut short by the school's alarm and the teacher's urgent directive: "Students, there is a fire in the school. We need to evacuate immediately." Exiting the room, Leni finds the school's power has gone out, heightening fear. "What is happening? I hope my sisters are safe," Leni thinks, rushing through the hallway.
During band class, Luna and her friends Sam, Mazzy, and Sully found themselves with some free time. The entire class was becoming monotonous as there was nothing to do. They were about to spend a long hour bored until one rock-loving teenager had a brilliant idea. "Hey, let's light up the room with some rock and roll," Luna suggested. "That sounds like a great idea," Mazzy agreed, giving her drummer a thumbs-up. "Let's do it," Sully chimed in, his keyboard ready. "Sounds like a plan, Lightning," Sam added, picking up her guitar. "Let's do this," Luna declared, strapping on her guitar.
The crowd erupted into loud cheers as Luna, Sam, Mazzy, and Sally took to the stage. The band, Moon Goat, was twelve minutes into their set when Luna's voice rose above the music, urging them to play more intensely. By the end, Luna's guitar riffs were a furious blur. "Rock and roll rules!" Luna shouted, strumming the final note. Her scream and the guitar's line unleashed a sonic boom that knocked everyone off their feet. In the aftermath, the power cut out, plunging them into darkness. "What happened?" Luna asked, peering into the shadows. "I don't even know," replied Sam, turning to assess the situation. Mazzy and Sally were too stunned to speak. Suddenly, the fire alarm blared, sending everyone scrambling from the classroom into the hallway. "What happened?" Luna repeated as they joined the exodus.
In acting class, Luan was on stage reciting her lines from Romeo and Juliet. Benny played Romeo, while Luan attempted to portray Juliet. She began to feel slightly nauseous, as she had known Benny since she was eight years old. Luan realized that someone might take him away if she did not ask him out soon. Although she was reading her lines, she looked up and saw her classmate Mie talking to her. "Are you confident about yourself?" asked Mie. "Oh, thank you. It is nothing, just actions and reading the script," Benny replied, rubbing his hands.
Luan's jealousy was evident as she gripped her pencil tightly, watching the scene unfold. The light bulb flickered ominously, casting shadows that hinted at impending doom. Despite her anger, Luan attempted to mask her emotions. The next moment took her by surprise: Benny, caught up in laughter, received an unexpected kiss on the cheek from Mei, leaving him blushing a deep shade of red. Overwhelmed, Luan's grip tightened on the pencil. This was the catalyst for the light bulb shattering, followed by a mirror and glass pane in the school raining down like crystal rain. The sudden destruction startled everyone, including Luan. Before she could process or speak, darkness enveloped them as the power failed and the fire alarm blared. In the confusion, Luan and her classmates evacuated, driven by instinct rather than thought. Amidst the chaos, a voice ripped through the 'long shatter,' a play on words lost in the tumult.
At Royal Wood School, Lynn Loud Jr. was on the field during gym class, engaging in her favorite school activity: Football. "It's time to swing for the goal," Lynn Jr. proclaimed, preparing to clinch the game. The score was tied at 12-12, and Lynn Jr. was resolute not to be on the losing side. Now, it was her moment to beat the team and score the goal.
Lynn Jr. was on the football field, catching the ball and beginning to run. After some running, she saw the other team coming after her, and she just smiled. "Time for the Lynn Jr. Dash Run," Lynn Jr. said, as she started running and knocking the team out, ultimately ending the game. "Hi, take that! We won again!" The whistle was blown by her coach, Keck, and Lynn Jr. saw that she wasn't that happy.
"That was an uncalled-for move you made. You're out of the game. Go hit the showers," Coach Keck said, walking away. "What? I didn't do anything," Lynn Jr. replied, but after looking at the other team, she saw that they were in pain and looked afraid of her.
At Royal Wood Elementary, Lily was in her Plant Science class, inspecting all the plants to ensure they were thriving. "Okay, it looks like all the plants are doing well," Lily said. This is Lily's favorite class, where she checks on plants and ensures they have plenty of water and sunlight. For some reason, she feels like she understands them. Before she could do anything else, she heard a voice she hated to hear.
"Well, well, well, the plant lover has returned," a voice remarks. Lily glances around and notices a girl with green hair, dressed in a red shirt that reads "Toxic rules," black pants, and black shoes. "What do you want, Jade?" Lily asks angrily. "What's wrong with being unhappy to see your old friend?" Jade replies. "The last time I remember, you got me into trouble with the teacher by lying and telling him I was the one who killed the plant," Lily responds.
"You were easy to blame because you never say anything, and you always have your big brother to help you out," Jade says. Lily looks at her and begins to speak. "Because my brother is always there for me, and all my sisters are there for me as well. You don't have anybody to help you, which is why you are the worst person ever. That's why nobody likes you."
After saying that, Jade cast an angry gaze at her. "Oh, you made a big mistake," Jade said, looking to her left, seeing a shovel, and grabbing it. "I will make sure you never speak." Jade started to walk towards her, but Lily had enough of her bullying. "Leave me alone, you jerk," Lily said, causing the ground to shake. A tree grew from nowhere, hitting and causing Jade to fly off the school and lie on the ground. Lily looked at the tree and saw it starting to rip the school apart. "What is going on?" Lily said as she saw pink crystals destroying some of the school, surprising her. "What in the world?" Cold air blew, starting to freeze the school. "What is going on here?" Lily said, shivering in the cold.
Lucy was enjoying her break outside while her classmates were playing. She sat beneath her favorite tree and began reading her book about ghosts. She was engrossed in her reading until a classmate, who often bullied her for being goth, interrupted. "Oh, look what we have here, Ms. Spooky, reading her silly book," Sally said, while her friends Reilly and Kate snickered. Lucy chose to ignore them and continued reading. "Hey, can't you hear? You need to learn to listen," Reilly taunted. Still, Lucy just read on. That was until Sally snatched the book from Lucy's hands, prompting a glare from Lucy.
"Sign whatever you want, I was reading that book," Lucy says angrily. "Well, well, well, it seems you can hear. I thought you were too stupid," Sally retorts. "I don't care, give me my book back," Lucy demands, snatching her book away. "Calm down, Gloomy. It's just a dumb ghost book; it suits someone like you," Sally mocks, making three of them laugh. Lucy looks at them and says, "How about you get a new attitude?" She suggests, walking away, but Sally is not ready to let it go.
Lucy approached, and Sally seized her hand tightly. "You had better watch what you say, spooky. You had better watch what you say to me, your foolish goth," Sally sneered. Lucy, increasingly angered by the bullying, had reached her limit. "Release me," Lucy demanded, a dark aura emanating from her, causing Sally to fall. This was the first time Lucy had seen her tormentor on the ground, shocked by an unknown force. As Lucy glanced back, Sally returned her gaze with hatred and murderous intent. Lucy began to run. After Reilly and Kate helped Sally, she commanded, "Get her!" prompting all three to chase after Lucy.
Lucy continued to run, pursued by the girl behind her. She kept running until she reached a wall. After a while, she no longer heard them and felt relieved to have escaped. As she looked around, Lucy realized that she was in a hallway. "Wait, what? How did I end up in the hallway? I was outside, behind the wall." Before she could contemplate further, she heard students screaming in fear. Soon, more students flooded the hallway, leaving Lucy with no time to move.
She feared being trampled by the students; however, they passed through her as if walking through the air, unaware of her presence. "Why did they pass through me?" Lucy wondered aloud as a giant pink crystal tore through the school, and a chill began to spread. "What is happening around here?" Lucy murmured, sensing the temperature drop. With that, a tree grew in the school and destroyed the roof and half of the school building. "What is going on?" Lucy said, still shivering from the cold.
Lana sat in mathematics class, surrounded by her peers, with Ms. Kate at the helm. "Alright, today we are going to watch a movie," announced Ms. Kate, prompting cheers from the students. Curious, Lana inquired, "Ms. Kate, what are we going to watch?" "The Jungle Book," replied Ms. Kate. As the movie played, Lana's favorite song filled the room, and her affection for the bear Baloo grew. "I wish I were that bear," she mused, eyes closed in contemplation. Suddenly, a scream pierced the air. "AHH! Everyone runs for your life, hurry or it's going to eat you! Get away from me, you monster!" her classmates yelled in panic. Lana's eyes snapped open at the mention of a monster. A monster? Where? "He's going to be my new pet!" she declared, dashing out of the classroom, only to find the creature had escaped. "Dang it," she muttered. Before she could track the monster, a pink giant crystal emerged from the ground, tearing through the school. "If Lola were here right now, she'd go crazy," Lana remarked, taking in the chaotic scene.
Lola stood in the hallway, rummaging through her locker to gather her belongings. "Let's see what I need," she murmured, peering into the depths of her locker. "I can't forget my ribbon for my next pageant." As she shut her locker, ready to head to class, a familiar voice halted her. "Getting ready to take second place?" the voice taunted, causing Lola to freeze in her tracks. She turned, recognizing the voice she loathed. "Lindsay Sweetwater," Lola said with an edge. "What's wrong? Afraid you'll be in last place after I win and finally defeat you?" Lindsay mocked, a smirk in her voice.
"Not this time, Sweetwater. I will always be number one, and you will always be number two," Lola retorted assertively. Lindsay responded, "No, Lola, you will be number two because I possess the looks, talent, and beauty, while all you have is that old rag," flipping her hair dismissively at Lola. Lola's anger flared at Lindsay's comment; she clenched her fists and struck the wall. As she did, a pink crystal embedded in the wall began to glow, causing the school to disintegrate. "What... what?" Lola gasped in shock. She stepped back, observing the crystal expand as the school crumbled around her. Before Lola could utter another word, a chill filled the air, and she noticed the school beginning to freeze over. "Why is ice forming in the school?" Lola shivered, bewildered by the sudden transformation.
During nap time, Lisa lay in the classroom, struggling to fall asleep. The usual tranquility was disrupted by voices and headaches. "Close your eyes and sleep, Barney will help you go to sleep," a voice said. "One sheep, two sheep, three sheep, four sheep, five sheep," another voice added, urging her to dismiss the distractions and overcome the sleeplessness. Yet, the voices lingered into the night, strange and disconcerting. Out of frustration, Lisa let out a heavy sigh, causing books to fall off shelves and tables and chairs to flip over, throwing the room into chaos. Looking around, she gasped, "What on Earth happened here?" taken aback by the turmoil. As she was about to reflect on the situation, a chilly draft swept through the classroom. "Why is it so cold in here?" she asked herself, shivering.
Lincoln was in the hallway walking to class. His day was not going well, as he thought. Some of his classmates made fun of him because he was albino, and some even tried to beat him up. Thankfully, his close friends Clyde, Liam, Rust, and Zach helped him out and reassured him that he was perfect the way he was. As he was almost back in class, someone obstructed his path. Richie and Trent were blocking the door. "Could you please move?" Lincoln asked as Richie and Trent glared menacingly at him. Lincoln was about to sidestep them when he heard a familiar voice. "Well, well, well," Larry Chandler sneered. "Chandler, I don't have time for this," Lincoln said.
"Oh, why shouldn't I? You weren't here for a while to bully, so I had to wait, but now you're back, and I can make your day worse," Chandler said, while his friend looked evil. "It's all the time for getting us in trouble," Chandler said. "It was your fault; if you weren't such a jerk," Lincoln replied, prompting Chandler and his friend to advance threateningly. "It's all your fault because you're just a crybaby hiding behind those dumb glasses," Chandler mocked, hoping to break Lincoln, but he was mistaken. "Chandler, you're nothing but a sad, pathetic bully who picks on others to feel better about yourself. You and your foolish friend need to get a life," Lincoln countered.
Chandler, Richie, and Trent were growing increasingly angry at Lincoln's response. "That's it, you're dead," Chandler said, rushing towards Lincoln. Lincoln looked at Chandler and felt fear, but for some reason, he moved out of the way, causing Chandler to slip on something. Lincoln noticed where Chandler had slipped and saw ice on the floor. Richie and Trent were about to attack Lincoln, but he pushed them away with some strange energy.
While Chandler and his friend were on the ground, Lincoln managed to escape as the ice began to freeze over. As Lincoln fled from his bullies, the ice started to spread towards the school, tearing it apart. While he was running, Lincoln noticed that a tree-like crystal had emerged from the school. "What is going on?" Lincoln exclaimed as he left the school.
