Chapter 1: The End of a Bygone Era
"Every empire is built on the bones of the ones who came before…"
This phrase, often echoed by scholars and historians. A quote that encapsulates a profound truth. Its meaning is layered and malleable, shifting with context and perspective.
For some, it speaks to the cycle of conquest and domination—the perpetual rise and fall of civilizations and nations. For others, it reflects the inevitability of mortality and impermanence, a reminder that no wealth or power can escape the relentless march of time.
From the remnants of the old, something new always rises—only to crumble again, perpetuating the endless march of the wheel.
As such, from the void of Ginnungagap, a realm of infinite potential, nine worlds emerged: Asgard, Helheim, Jötunheim, Midgard, Múspellsheim, Niflheim, Niðavellir, Vanaheim, and Álfheim. Each of these grand domains is filled with challenges to overcome, mysteries to unravel, and secrets to uncover.
Nine realms bristle with opportunities for exploration, conquest, and discovery. Mighty adversaries await those bold enough to challenge them, while grand quests beckon adventurers to earn their place in legends. Gods rise and fall, their domains shaped by the will of those who dare to act.
Within these nine worlds, a treasure trove of experience and exploration awaits those brave enough to risk everything. Some carve out greatness from the ruins of the fallen, while others meet spectacular and tragic ends.
Yet, the most significant force of change in these worlds is neither divine nor monstrous. No! Even above those mighty beings, existed a force that made gods and the vilest evil falter. Worlds shake and reshape under the weight of their acts.
They are not mere mortals or demigods but chosen beings with potential as vast as their ambitions. To some, they are reckless explorers; to others, they are chaotic disruptors, treating the fate of the realms as little more than a game. Even others would consider them valiant heroes. Plans collapse when met with their reckless, and stubborn nature, standing against all odds.
Adventurers, champions, villains? They were called by many things. But amongst themselves, they were only referred to as players, friends, or enemies. Outsiders those who brought upheaval with their heroic, selfish, or chaotic actions, both by accident and design. Some of them wandered out of curiosity; others sought glory, dominance or to, 'have fun'. What sets the best among them apart is not strength alone, but adaptability, cleverness, and the ability to seize every opportunity fate offers.
Yet, despite everything, even these chosen beings are often thwarted—most often not by their foes, or each other, but by the machinations of the realm's creators. These Game Masters and Administrators — as the players often called them — the supreme architects of the nine worlds, weaved their domains to ensure that no lone adventurer, no matter how powerful or resourceful they are, can achieve ultimate dominion alone. Instead, collaboration is essential, forcing adventurers to form guilds, alliances, and armies to overcome insurmountable odds.
In these alliances, impossible feats become achievable. Impenetrable dungeons fall. Unbeatable adversaries are overcome by effort and coordination! The spoils of these victories—wealth, fame, and artefacts of unimaginable power—fuel the adventurers' unyielding ambition. Legends are born from these exploits, their tales woven into the fabric of the realms, forcing the yoke to turn and grind to dust the bones, which fuels growth and progress!
Yet no empire, no matter how mighty, lasts forever.
As time passed, the once-vibrant nine realms began to wane. Dungeons that had once teemed with adventurers now stood silent and abandoned. Capitals once alive with trade and revelry became ghost towns. The divine beings who had offered unimaginable rewards for worthy challengers found themselves waiting in vain.
The worlds, once brimming with life, now lay hollow and stagnant—a bloated carcass inhabited only by shadows of its former glory.
Most adventurers had long since moved on. Interest dwindled, and the "divine contributions" required to sustain these realms—sacrifices of effort, time, and currency—were no longer forthcoming. And so, the decree was made: the nine worlds of YGGDRASIL would meet their end.
The servers—those ethereal conduits that had sustained the realms—would soon be shut down. Everything would return to the void of Ginnungagap, from which it had first emerged.
As the final moments of these storied realms approached, only a few adventurers lingered. Some still scavenged forgotten treasures; others simply wandered, cherishing their last hours in a world that had once been their sanctuary. Even some, awaited the inevitable end, watching the last show the grand creators conjured, hoping for a merciful finality.
"Every empire is built on the bones of the ones who came before... but eventually, entropy always wins."
On a magnificent vessel, hovering amidst the fading echoes of the realms, two figures sat. They gazed out over the remnants of their epic journey, reminiscing about a bygone era, and the coming end. Together, they awaited the inevitable, knowing the curtain would soon fall on this grand adventure.
"Why are we here again?"
"Isn't it obvious? To chill and enjoy the last minutes of the game!"
The figure sighed with a joyful chuckle, letting her body lean back on the luxurious armchair and sip some of her strange drink. An ambrosic substance, carrying the pained faces of many souls.
On her face, an always confident smile frozen, perpetually set to one exact visage. Yet, from one look and from her voice it was evident, she felt some kind of happy longing, stretching her right hand towards the stark night sky as if trying to reach for the stars.
"Huh?"
Above them, the heavens were filled with different nebulas, painted with colourful fireworks never seen before; all signing the coming end of this place.
"Twelve years… how time passes, huh?"
What did this place mean for them? Some may ask this silly question.
For the two in the scene and many more, it was a place to escape to, or simply a realm of adventure and achievements. Realms, where they tried, failed, and eventually triumphed many times over.
Nine worlds, where they had spent long years as fellow players and explorers, pursuing and trying to crack their secrets continuously. Ambitiously coveting the thrones of divines, and more!
"Yet, as always, every good thing has to end sooner or later," commented the second without anything more to add. A voice, which panged with some heavy void and emptiness, echoing with immense disappointment.
"Let's just enjoy it while it lasts then."
"You know, we could do the same from the safety of the guild. Right?" On the side of their fellow player, the small, child-like being pouted.
A small and scrawny little imp, wearing what one may call corrupted magical girl attire, reminiscent of a dark sorceress from a fantasy book.
A true witch, a dark lord, with her strange, pointy hat and equally oversized demonically alive shoulder guards — naturally, it was paired with a long cloak that may easily reach the ground if she would stand up.
A comical visage, but cute nonetheless. A child playing the demon lord in her father's guise. A demon lord, who wants to look intimidating, but due to her stature and appearance, the hero might even give her a candy and praise her costume.
"This place… is a little bit too open for me."
Her big, cute eyes moved up and all around, searching for any enemies that might ambush them in this open space. Finally, her gaze stopped on the patrolling drones above, ignoring the ongoing light show.
"Pff! You are paranoid!" Finally, the witch's companion burst out entertained, adjusting her peaked military hat over her eyes. "We are on top of our guild. We can just use our guild rings and teleport inside if that happens." On her ring finger, the guild ring glinted for a moment.
A signet ring of prismatic silver, engraved with small runes around. A blue gem sitting on top of it, and underneath the surface a strange symbol is animated, reminiscent of a phoenix.
"The teleport function of the rings doesn't work under combat… don't you remember?"
Gloomily, the short "witch" explained.
Surprising or not in this game, a sullen, deep voice left the mouth of this small being with blue skin and a cute, childish appearance. A voice that definitely belonged to a bigger and stout figure, definitely not the impish child we see in the scene.
"The AA is still there. They will stop them." The military lady with blood-red hair pointed at one of the nearby anti-air guns confident, entirely convinced their defence would suffice.
Just nearby, these cannons carried strange magical designs. Futuristic, yet, resembled older war tools from the previous world war in their appearance. A clash, that shook, and reformed their point of origin.
"These things are mostly for show. An organized group can easily get through their fire — of course, if they really want."
"In that case! We go down fighting!" Jumping up, the girl with a positive outlook laughed. Her sparkling violet eyes made a great contrast with her dark grey military uniform. A gear that was designed to resemble a strange outfit. A uniform, which in her world German generals wore during the WWII era. Her ghastly, translucent skin just added to the effect, giving her the visage of a ghostly commander, ready to lead her people into battle.
"Yeah… sure…"
No matter how her companion tried to reason, the commander of this great vessel was adamant to remain outside and enjoy the show above!
"Below us, is our warship! The Sword of Njörðr! With us, our might, our army and our will to triumph! With this, no enemy can face us! They will be all crushed under our heel!"
She made a spin, showcasing the splendour of their guild base, and all that they had hoarded over the years!
Under their feet, under the thick black armour that released a bluish hue, a humongous dreadnought of Vanir's design floated!
A flying fortress, armoured and armed to the teeth!
A fearsome warship with a modern look, but filled with the many mysteries its creators left behind.
A vessel that was painstakingly and expensively redesigned to mirror their guild's military-esque, and upgraded in a mind-boggling arduous process!
A feared battleship, dreaded by even the Aesir under their terrible war with the Vanir! An ark, the last hope of her people when Ragnarok was divined!
In the times of old, her presence was blotting the skies over many battlefields with her sleek, but tough body, thick armor and mighty arsenal!
Indeed, it was the most splendid guild base all around! Alas, it was that way for them. Because indeed, there were mightier ones of course, but this one was theirs, and that's what mattered the most!
"Are you once again roleplaying? Or you truly believe only the two of us would survive an invasion in this open field?"
Who knows how many players remained in these last few minutes of this dying world? Perhaps they might decide to band up and attack them as the last act. Just before this once-thriving realm comes to an end forever.
"Oh come on! Play along with me!" urged her partner the general. "Don't be like that! It is the last moment of this wonderful world! Don't say you want to spend it all paranoid and gloomy?"
"Hmph!" In response, the small figure with rich carrot hair that mixed with some pink clicked his tongue, his character's thick pigtails moving wildly as the avatar turned her head away. "How do you think our guild survived this long? After you and the rest left, I had to manage everything alone. If not for reorganizing the floors and spending a shitload of resources and money to upgrade stuff, our guild would have already fallen several times over."
"Gaah! This again? You can't just let it go, can you?" the general of the mighty vessel groaned with a frustrated voice, turning to her fellow with hanging arms. "I told you, we had our lives. We needed to move on! We can't be stuck here and play this game all the time. Unlike you…"
"Unlike me…" muttered the impish figure with an ever lower tone, hugging their thin legs in a tight embrace.
Even if the realms did not support facial motion, and as such, the visage of the demonic child froze to a perpetual mischievous expression, the overly long pointy ears on the avatar clearly showcased the owner's mood, slanting down gradually.
"Ah! What's this gloom? Come on! Can't we just enjoy our last minutes in peace and move on? After over a decade of playing together? It'd be bad to disconnect while arguing over such nonsense, don't you think so, Styxia?" the woman with the peaked hat asked, her light violet eyes gazing at the small demon, burning with otherworldly fires.
"We can, I guess… Lieselotte," the impish witch shook their head with a low sigh.
Though her cute, puffy cheeks showed no emotion in this virtual world, the companion of this little thing probably knew exactly what "she" was thinking, patting their back encouragingly.
"Hah! It feels so nostalgic! It reminds me the time when we first met in the game. Just two random strangers partying up so we can beat an elite enemy and survive! Then… more people joined us after some time, and finally, we created our guild! It is like everything happened only a few days ago!"
"It was years ago… many things have happened ever since." Much hair the little one lost in a different realm. "Though, I was against it at first."
"Yeah, sure," snorted the deathly pale girl with an almost translucent complexion, hitting the short demoness slightly but playfully.
Immediately, the text displayed in the air, stating a 'Friendly Fire Off!' message. An apt reminder that in their current state, they couldn't harm each other.
"You are a sore liar. I know you wanted it too!" Back then, it only took her companions ten deaths in a row to accept her offer. How it is possible one might ask? Isn't death supposed to be a permanent end?
It was indeed that way, yet, not! Because in the nine realms, death had different rules. For the players, it was only the end of a failed assault or an unfortunate ambush. Until their will remained, they came back for more, until their objective was completed, or lost their will to rise again!
"Come on! Just admit it! Don't be shy!" The red-haired girl started to playfully elbow her comrade, urging him to confess.
"Think what you want, I only know we will most likely never meet after this. A sad, but unavoidable reality." Thinking back at it, the little one sent out several invitations to the old comrades, intending to celebrate the end together. In style, just as intended.
Yet, the only one who showed up was her.
"Most didn't answer. Fewer said no, as they didn't have time, even fewer said yes, but didn't come." Truth to be told, most members already left their guild, leaving their equipment behind as a memento of their existence. Nonetheless, be it out of remembrance, or foolish hope one day they might return — even in a different form — the impish lord kept their divine set. If for nothing else, to remember them.
"Hey! Don't say that! You know my availability! And I have had way more free time recently! I am sure we can play together again! You'll see, it will be like old times! We will create an even better guild in no time when YGGDRASIL 2 is released! Just you and me — and anyone who wishes to join us! It will be glorious!"
Lieselotte's laugh was almost contagious, her voice even made the usually gloomy, and nowadays sullen and depressed demon smirk under his virtual helmet.
"Haah! I see I couldn't reason with you. Like usual… Fine then, be it your way! Though, I doubt that that game will be released anytime soon. The developers haven't made any grand announcements connected to it, yet." In fact, the small one only knows about several H-games and gacha-related virtual products recently — strange, but addicting products, the little one enjoyed quite bit.
"Then it is right around the corner!" The woman smirked under her helmet. "Nonetheless, there are many other games we can try together."
"Well, I have time… as usual. The only thing I truly lack is money. My parents once again lowered my allowance…"
"You still haven't found any work, have you?" questioned the general with a worried tone.
"I'm trying to find a job, really. Those people just want too much experience — which I don't have, obviously. Also, they are asking way too much from me."
"Huh? How old are you? Thirty-four? Thirty-five? Most people start working in their teens — some before even finishing middle school. Most are already married and have children your age. I'm starting to think you are just lazy and want too much for nothing."
"Tch! You speak like my parents and siblings. If I wanted to hear such things, I'd go out of my room and sit amongst them. Not spending my time in virtual space. I need no lectures! Especially from you…!" The little demon started to feel even more sullen and depressed of all sudden. Just what one needed for this already crappy night.
"Well, I have a career and stable income." Proud, Lieselotte pushed forth her modest chest, showing the world the many medals she wore. "I can even provide my mother with a stable living and medication. This is much more than anyone can say nowadays. I know what hard work means." Especially if they came from a background like hers.
"Good for you… let me applaud." Depressed and sour, the demons remained silent, only glaring before themselves as he slowly clapped.
The two, skin-covered horns that protruded from the upper part of her temple pushed up the avatar's shaggy and spiky hair. The additional small flames of abyss dimming really made this unmoving face expressive, relaying the owner's mood.
"Hmph!" Raising the avatar's hand, Styxia started to play with the lush, but shaggy hair. Curling a fat lock around a finger.
"Only a few minutes until everything ends…" Watching the suddenly appearing display as the seconds disappeared like air from a deflating balloon really made this small demon depressed.
So much time and effort wasted! So much money was burned for this world!
And what for? In the end, everything will disappear! Just like that! Poof!
In the last few months, the abyssal lord didn't even have a good time playing. He just did so out of stubbornness and to keep afloat their guild. Even doing his best to repel the occasional invaders who tried their luck with the defences.
"I could have spent my time and money more creatively…"
Such deflating thoughts played through the bits of the dark lord. Considering the possibility that utilizing time and resources better, or giving more attention to developing skills that might be useful in another world would be more beneficial.
Because after these few minutes passed, and the jaw of the world serpent finally snapped over these realms, he will be stripped of all manner of accomplishment! All traces of conquest and power he hoarded under the decade-long journey!
What will happen after that? Should he move on, go and search for another realm to pass the time? Return to being a Vtuber with falling popularity and income? Find another hobby that he will eventually give up due to his lack of drive. Try to get a job that he will fail anyway? Wait until his parents ditch him from their home being a freeloader?
All in all, things didn't look good for him!
"Things are looking dire…"
"What's this gloom? Where is the mighty Demon Lord who boasted of her power and accomplishments? The one who never relented from challenges, but faced them head-on, always coming out on top even against overwhelming odds? The one who tricked and bound both mortals and gods to her bidding!"
Feeling her partner's growing gloom, Lieselotte decided: What's enough was enough! She would not let their last minutes in this world be spent like this!
She already felt miserable bringing up a topic that was most likely hurtful for her friend.
A problem that may or may not be entirely the fault of the small imp. Nonetheless, that didn't matter now! As his friend, it was her duty to cheer him up and make him go forward!
"Reality broke her, I guess…" Muttered Styxia, and Lieselotte sighed under her breath, before deciding to make things entertaining — maybe one last time before reality ends around them.
"That will not do! I will not allow our last minutes to be spent like this!" Jumping up, she pointed at Styxia with her black walking cane. A tool that was engraved with gold and carried a ruby royal phoenix on its pommel. A divine cane, that witnessed many battlefields, and carried a terrible secret.
"I challenge you to a duel! Oh mighty Lord of the Seven Sins! Master of Pacts, and curses, Styxia Maledicta Legioechidna!"
"Huh?" Immediately, the duel request notification popped up before the imp's strange eyes, making him blink in their original realm. "What are you planning now? Can't I suffer in silence?"
"Just accept it, dammit! One last duel before the game ends!"
"I don't see how it's relevant now… only around five minutes remain."
"It's to end the game in style! What do you have to lose? Now come on! Do your part! Show me the 'true' you!"
"Hah, be it your way then. I indulge your fantasy. One last time. Who cares anyway…" With a morose sigh, the player urged his avatar to stand up and take a pose — showing a "V" with his fingers before those big, shining eyes that carried double lenses and sparkled.
Through the pair of special lenses, those carried an outer layer that blazed green, and was engraved with demonic occult symbols moving around the violet-pink inner iris — which was engraved by an always changing occult star — demonic fires blazed, lashing out from the sockets!
Similar to it, two sets of smaller eyes opened that were present under the main set, her seventh demonic black eye on her forehead revealed, smouldering with evil flames!
"We, the great Maou of the Nine Worlds, the Overlord of the Great Abyss, Styxia Maledicta Legioechidna, accept your challenge! Prepare for destruction and servitude! Fuhahahaha!~" Strangely, the voice of this nowadays morose person changed to a small child's lisping and thin voice. Almost like it belonged to a chibi character — and perfectly fit her design.
"Wow! You really fine-tuned that voice modulation software!"
"Of course, we did just that! Aren't you aware, we are genius? Whahahahaha!~ All those foolish humans fell before our charm!~" Like a prideful overlord of the infinite layers of Ginnungagap, Styxia laughed triumphant — even mimicking the moves of a corrupted magical girl perfectly. An adorable dark lord prepared to conquer! "Now then, Generalfeldmarschall! Face us with all yer might. Release the damned souls of your soldiers so we may bind them to our servitude!" The sharp golden index of her twisted, segmented metal gloves pointed at their opponent, dripping with dreadful curses.
"Then come, and try to take them!" Lieselotte recovered her ceremonial sword from her side, made from platinum gold material, and pointed it at her opponent. A cursed tool, dripping with the malice of the many souls it swallowed, and the negative essence of death it contained. "But you need to get through me first!" Her head was suddenly engulfed with blue flames, leaving a charred skull. Just like that, her hair turned to blazing white under the transformation.
"Come then… little revenant! [Call Familiar] [Diabolic Household]!" Styxia called forth her familiar and demonic legion in a snap.
Behind the demonic lord, a lesser army of various demons conjured, consisting of imps, hellish hounds and all other monstrous devils and demons.!Yet, the most unique amongst them was the small whelp that appeared on her side, carrying runed scales and demonic characteristics — partly covered by hellish armour.
The tiny dragon's seven eyes blazed with malice and some adorable hunger. Just like his master, he was cute, but monstrous at the same time.
"Feast on her soul, my precious pet! Bring her corpse in a chain!"
Taking a big breath, the familiar vomited its hellish flames at his master's opponent. An attack Liese cut through easily. The purplish effect of negative energy, which fueled her undead life blazed around the general like some aura.
Immediately, she dashed forth, coming face to face with a towering behemoth, one of the frontlines of the demon lord's army!
"Haah! Nice try!"
With a quick combo, she disabled the hulking abyssal monstrosity, speeding past the small legion and catching up with their master! Sensing the danger, the feathered wings on Styxia's back sprouted and grew bigger. Almost like they were made of pure, living darkness, three pairs of appendages sprouted, feathered on the outside, scaled on the inside, having a golden hue and veins, covered by many abyssal eyes, surrounded by primal evil containing many maddening maws!
"Cath me if you can!~" Childish, the demoness made a mocking motion, an invisible force pulling her farther from the trajectory of the attack.
Their distance immediately grew, both shooting out with blinding speed. Alas, the massive wing buffet left behind made the assault stumble for a moment.
"Wanna some appetizer?~ [Curse of Slowness]! [Maw of Hadar]!" Like an undead general stuck in tar, her character's speed lost its momentum, unable to catch up with her opponent. Right after, a maw of an eldritch being emerged from the space below, snapping at the revenant soldier.
"Nice trick!" Though she suffered some damage, the girl immediately used her ability to counter the effect of the curse, cutting through the formless maw around her, and crippling the pack of demons who lunged after her. "[Lopsided Duel]!"
She was right away in Styxia's range once more using her ability, recovering the golden Luger P08 from her side, and releasing a few shots.
"Hmph! Do you really think such a crass tactic can work? [Infernal Barrier]!~" Around the childish witch, a hellish barrier formed, negating the projectiles, and showering her enemy with soul-tearing heat.
[2:59… 2:58… 2:57…]
As the seconds that indicated the end of the game passed, just as such, the fight between the sides intensified. Throwing attack left and right! Changing tactics with each moment! Going from defensive to offensive, and vice versa! The last minutes of this world witnessed the duel of two mighty beings!
"[Maximize Magic: Greater Witch Ray]!"
The eldritch thick book that hung on Styxia's side paged rapidly by itself, revealing many forbidden secrets on its page of skin and flesh!
From the newly morphed eldritch maw of her divinely twisted staff — which looked like it was made from celestial metal that was infected by some kind of abyssal entity — a thick ray of hungering demonic magic was released, following Liese in her flight even faster!
"Dammit! I really went rusty…" Liese muttered witnessing a chunk of her health disappear, her character stumbling in the air after being hit by that powerful attack. The amount of gnawing debuffs plaguing her character doubled, even her resistance and countermeasures can't fully protect her against the malicious power of the little witch "Well, that's three years of pause for you, I guess," she muttered bitterly but entertained.
Those few days of practice, and gearing up were not able to fully give back her former glory — which was an undeniable fact seeing her current performance.
"But I also have a few tricks up my sleeve…"
Finding her determination once more, Liese caught up with the pace of her friend's attack once again, reaching closer and closer to her opponent!
"[Eldritch Pus…]!"
"[Soulsearing Penance Stare]!" Disturbing Styxia's spell, Liese managed to get close enough so her attack could hit, using the small window the momentary stun caused.
"Guaah!~"
"What was that voice?"
"Obviously, a scream of pain. I am not an undead like you, I can still feel pain. Respect my roleplay." Explained the short imp proudly.
"Right… just what did I thi-hey!"
"Hehhehe!~ Watch behind yer back!~" In another world, the demon player smirked, seeing as the abyssal flames of his familiar hit his opponent, and turned to ash the lesser army of summons around her — those her passive ability called to unlife.
"Grrr! That was not fair!"
"Haah!? Fair? Since when did our beloved Generalfeldmarschall become so gullible? Ah!~ But indeed, without our dark guidance, you strayed down the path. Such a pity! No matter, let us educate you again. First lesson: In war and love, everything is allowed."
"Is that so? In that case, I will play as such too."
"Crap!" Seeing Liese's newfound determination, Styxia started to have a bad feeling. Not surprisingly, because right after, the revenant changed her tactic to be even more aggressive, allowing little room to counter the demon lord's vicious power.
[30… 29… 28…]
The fight above the flying craft started to turn more and more brutal with each passing second. Two titans clashing, shaking the very reality in their wake! A spectacular dogfight in the air. Only the fireworks above surpassed the colourful arsenal of spells the little witch rained at her opponent!
"[Maximize Magic: Maleficent Seed]!"
Though they held back most of their arsenal currently — either to elongate the fight to the last moment or simply wait for their opponent to make a fatal blunder — it was evident both of them enjoyed this battle to the fullest.
"Hah!"
Nonetheless, each of them counted the seconds displayed on their display, trying to elongate this joyous moment. Concentrating on finding the perfect opportunity to end a more than a decade-long journey in the flashiest way possible!
"This is it! The last seconds of this world! Let's make all YGGDRASIL remember our last fight! Let's all remember the dying roar of our mighty guild!" Lieselotte announced with a vigorous spirit, her body in another world sweating with excitement and trembling in anticipation!
"Styxia approves! You were a worthy opponent. But like everything, this as well. Now then, bow before your true Overlord!~" Just like Liese, Styxia prepared as well. Yet, he was unable to truly calculate how much stress his heart could take in the real world. Maybe, this time he would even get a heart attack.
"Come on then!"
[10… 9… 8…7…]
The final countdown started, and both sides prepared their most destructive single-target spell. Preparing a final showdown of might, which will decide the victor of their long rivalry!
"Now then! Tremble before our might! Feast your gaze upon the power of the one true demon lord! Wuhahahahaha!~"
"[... 6…5…4…]
"As if! Victory will be mine! I will avenge my people and my unit! The whole world shall bow before me!"
"Let's see then how far your determination can take you, fallen general. Fufufu!~ Now then… gaze into our eyes of the true abyss and tremble!~ [Final Cursed Gaze of…!]" Chuckling, Styxia's eyes glowed up, charging the spell with eldritch energies.
The world twisted around the demonic child, horrific powers gathering before the pupils of the short character. The very power she gathered in her oculars made the playfield tremble and shake, though the uncontrollable demonic lighting hitting the environment was only an additional effect.
"[... 3…2…1…]
"Very well then! I will face your attack head-on, fallen trickster! [Vulnus…]!" At the same time, the black and violet energies of death concentrated in the peerless blade of Liese, absorbing all her summons to strengthen the effect of her next attack.
The area around her turned gloomier immediately, her attack even sucking the very life from her environment as she started to charge. Just like that, she closed the gap between herself and her opponent in an instant!
[0!]
"[...Salamon]!"
[... Ultima Thanatos]!"
Both sides released their attacks at the same time, the exact moment when the time counter hit zero!
The world shifted around them for only but an instance, just as their terrible might was to be released, wreaking havoc on their surroundings!
A horrific and wide beam of cursed demonic energy cut a wide path on its way, corrupting, twisting, and eradicating everything before them!
It crunched and shattered reality in its wide path, reaching wide and far with strength that could easily vaporize mountains and part seas, tearing the very fabric that separated the realm of Hel from Midgard!
Meanwhile, a concentrated mighty slash left the elegant blade of Liese, spreading the black miasma of death to everything it touched and killing the very air around itself — scarring the ground but even the world forever in a long and wide arc. In its wake, it swallowed and withered the souls that got tangled in its path!
"Guahhhh!" The scream of a child echoed through the night in an instant! Almost like the cry of a newborn! It's the first audition in a new brave world!
