The infamous Dr. Ivo Robotnik launched an attack on a small town. It was a relatively mundane invasion, but he had to take any chance he could get to expand his empire. Not much resistance was offered by the townsfolk; it took about an hour, maybe less to take care of everyone. Or so Robotnik thought. Upon returning to his base, Robotnik had discovered that a young hedgehog had managed to sneak aboard one of his ships. Normally, Robotnik would send her to the same fate as the rest of her town, but this was no normal circumstance. Her arrival on the ship was likely a complete coincidence, as the hedgehog was no older than two. She was young, pure, moldable. It was then where Robotnik made a decision. He would take this sneaky little child in, raise her to be the perfect heir to the Robotnik Empire, and make sure his name never dies to the sands of time. Over the course of 12 years, he molded her like clay, telling her everything that he needed her to know. About his just vision for the world, a vision of efficient order. He told her how disgustingly inefficient nature was when allowed to run free. And most importantly of all, he told her about that annoying blue hedgehog, how he was all of the world's evils combined into a single being. He was chaotic, unpredictable, the one thing he couldn't control.

Present Day

The hedgehog, who Robotnik had named Amy, had grown to be Robotnik's greatest asset. Even at such a young age, Amy served well as Robotnik's secretary, ambassador, pretty much anything that Robotnik didn't want to do himself, Amy would always take care of it. Plus, he liked having someone sentient to gloat about his plans to. For Amy, today was special. Today was the day that one of her father's plans would involve her. This was it, the day she would finally have a chance to go against the elusive blue hedgehog that had been a thorn in her father's side for so long. Amy immediately reported for duty, proudly wearing the standard Robotnik Empire uniform, the very same attire as her father. "Right now, I have Little Planet under my control, and chained down to the Earth. That insufferable blue rat will no doubt come running to 'correct' this. You will go to Little Planet and lure him into a trap. Once you are in position, press this button to alert Metal Sonic. He'll handle the rest. Also, change into these clothes. In order for the ruse to work, you cannot give the impression that you are associated with me." Once Robotnik finished briefing Amy, he gave her a small remote with a single button and a simple dress for her to wear. After changing into the dress, Amy felt that she looked… Strange in the mirror. It felt wrong to be wearing something without Father's branding, but if fitting in with the common rabble was what it took to allow him to be rid of his greatest enemy, then she was willing to go through with it.

Palmtree Panic

Making her way up to the planetoid, Amy took a look around Little Planet. Sonic had obviously made his way through this area. The lush greenery, the plants and animals roaming freely, it was absolutely disgusting. So disorderly, so inefficient, so Sonic. Seeing the trail of destroyed machinery, it made Amy's blood boil. She had to find Sonic fast, before her father's work could be destroyed any further. Pulling out a device meant to track the unique energy signatures that Sonic's speed left behind, Amy managed to track him down to a nearby carnival. "There you are, you speedy little menace. Time to put an end to your reign, once and for all." She muttered under her breath before straightening out her dress and heading towards Sonic's location.

Collision Chaos

Luckily for her, Sonic was just standing outside of the carnival, seemingly unable to get in. Perfect, no way for him to run away. Amy played up the ditsy damsel act, 'accidentally' bumping into him. "Oh, hello there! I'm so sorry to bother you, but I seem to be a bit lost. I don't suppose you could help me find my way back to the spaceport, could you? I'm afraid I've gotten all turned around exploring this lovely planet. Please, I'd be ever so grateful for your help. I'm not at all familiar with this place, and I'm afraid I don't know how to get back to where I started." Of course, the simpleton that he was, Sonic easily fell for the trick. "Well, I dunno bout a spaceport, but I came here on this big 'ol chain at the bottom of this planet. If you really wanna get outta here, I could take you there myself! Not like there's much I can do here anyway. What do ya say, miss?" If he weren't her father's greatest enemy, Amy might be willing to admit that Sonic had a certain charm and charisma about him. It's no wonder that he's managed to convince the world that he was some hero. "Thanks so much, Mr…?" Amy asked, acting as if she didn't know who he was, Sonic the Hedgehog, the ultimate evil of the world, the being that stood in the way of progress, of everything that her father stood for. "I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!" Sonic introduced himself. "Charmed, I'm Amy Ro… Rose. Amy Rose, hehe…" Was that too on the nose of her to say? Would he read into the supposed fact that her last name just so happened to be the same as one of the flowers surrounding them? Luckily, he was even dumber than Amy thought, not seeming to get suspicious at all. Still, she really should be more careful if she wants this ruse to work. Her hand subtly moved to her back, as her thumb lingered on the remote's button, just waiting for the perfect moment to spring their trap and call Metal Sonic onto the scene. "I could probably get you off this planet in a minute or two… If I'm slow." While Sonic was distracted by his own ego, Amy pushed the button, knowing that her father's victory was now guaranteed. Sonic's ear twitched, sensing the incoming danger. "Hang on a second, Amy. I've got a bad feeling." As Sonic stared down the carnival's walls, Metal Sonic came bursting through, landing between Sonic and Amy. "Sonic the Hedgehog, we meet at last. Consider me your replacement. I am Metal Sonic, and you are obsolete." Metal Sonic grabbed Amy, 'kidnapping' her. "Catch me if you can, Sonic! Otherwise, her life is forfeit!" Metal Sonic laughed as he flew away at rocketing speeds with Amy, leading Sonic to run after them. The plan was working perfectly thus far. As soon as they were out of Sonic's sight, Amy let herself crack a smile at the expense of Sonic's foolishness. She had to admit, he had the selfless hero act down to a science. But even as he rushed after her and Metal Sonic, Amy knew what Sonic truly was, a villainous force of nature that needed to be wiped out for the sake of progress.

Stardust Speedway

The speedway was the perfect location for their plan. "Analysis indicates that Sonic will arrive in less than an hour. Preparations must begin immediately." Metal Sonic said as he landed. Amy nodded and immediately rushed to the end of the speedway, rope in hand, to fulfill her part of the plan. As Sonic arrived on the scene, he surveyed the surrounding area, his eye being caught by Metal Sonic's descent. "Welcome to your final destination, Sonic the Hedgehog! I hope it is to your liking, it's the last thing you'll ever see." In response, Sonic simply rolled his eyes. "Well isn't this nice, a welcoming committee from the steel plated faker himself. Nice place you've got here. Too bad I'm totally gonna trash it and you. Soon as I find that girl you grabbed." Metal Sonic stared his counterpart down. "A race. To the end of the speedway. The winner proves themselves as the ultimate Sonic! Will you accept, or is the so-called fastest thing alive too chicken?" Sonic let out a cocky smirk. "A race? Now you're speaking my language! Pretty elaborate setup, kidnapping someone for a race, but I'll worry about that later! You're on!" With that confidence, that smile, Amy saw the Sonic that she was told about. Gone was the selfless hero facade. This is someone who, with a smile on his face, will forget all about his mission to satisfy his own ego. Whilst he raced, Sonic would consistently venture off of the track, running off to various landmarks for a quick couple of seconds, before returning to the race. It was absolutely infuriating. This adrenaline junkie couldn't stay focused on anything for 2 seconds. Is this all he lives for? Short thrills? He clearly doesn't care about what's right for the world. Robotnik has a clear and just vision for the world, one united under his rule. Sonic is just a reckless speedster given far too much power for his own good, and the world's. Halfway through, the Sonics were neck and neck. Then, Robotnik arrived. "Ho Ho Ho! I see that you've already acquainted yourself with my latest and greatest creation! How do you like your lookalike?" Sonic's grin grew sharper as he turned to face the doctor. "I've gotta admit, doc. I'm impressed. You finally gave one of your bots a personality. Maybe next time you'll make one that can actually beat me!" Robotnik fired his laser onto the track, sure to end Sonic's life if he ever slowed down. Unfortunately, he didn't. He pulled ahead and backed his robotic double into a corner, causing him to take the brunt of the laser. As Sonic reached Amy, he came to a stop so that his sharp spines could 'free' her from her rope. "And just like that, Sonic the Hedgehog takes first place! A fine showing, doc, but still not close to me! 7/10, I'd say. Let's see... Win the race, check. Save the girl, check. Time to save the world!... Again." As Sonic rushed after Robotnik, Amy couldn't help but stare in disbelief. She always thought that Sonic would be a worthy adversary to Robotnik. One that would rival his wit, his skill, his vision, his anything. But in reality? He was naught but a child. An unfocused, disobedient child. His only leg up against her father was the power that he had been born with, a power that he got through no effort of his own. How? How did he do it? How was he the one uncontrollable factor in Robotnik's plans? How did he beat him time and again? How did he outpace Metal Sonic? This unworthy child shouldn't have accomplished this much, it just didn't make sense. After a few minutes passed, Amy received a transmission from Robotnik. "Drat! That pest of a hedgehog's somehow bested me once again! Activate the self-destruct sequence, now!" Amy couldn't believe what she was hearing, couldn't believe that Sonic had once again managed to luck his way into a victory over the doctor's brilliant plans. Though she was hesitant to destroy all of her father's work, Amy knew what had to be done to stop Sonic once and for all. "Acknowledged, Father. Activating the self-destruct sequence now." She regretfully replied, watching everything her father built go up in flames, all to be replaced by the disgusting greenery that once dominated Little Planet before Robotnik led it to greatness. Sonic, still unaware of Amy's true goal, rushed back towards the speedway to grab her on his way out. As Sonic landed on the earth below, he set Amy down and then rushed off, one with the wind. As Amy looked up, she saw Little Planet, no longer chained to the earth, it floated back up to space, and what she saw... Well, it was downright offensive. Sonic's face, plastered by the residents of Little Planet as a form of thanks. How dare they tout Sonic, this wild animal, as their savior! Robotnik brought order! Robotnik gave their miserable planet a purpose! Robotnik made their home perfect! But Sonic gets the praise? After searching for a while, Amy found Robotnik in a nearby lake. After she pulled him out, she immediately worked to dry him off without needing to be given the order. "Well, that was Sonic the Hedgehog. How was your first experience with the rat, Amy?" Robotnik asked. Amy shuddered at the memory of her encounter with Sonic, however brief. She took a moment to compose herself before responding to Robotnik, her voice filled with disgust. "Horrible, Father. He's even worse than you described. I can't believe I fell for his act, even for a moment. He's nothing more than a child playing pretend. He didn't even try to hide his true nature. He reveled in it, wallowing in his own arrogance and impulsiveness. And the worst part is, he somehow managed to convince the people of Little Planet that he was their savior. As if your perfect world, the order and purpose he brought to their lives, meant nothing to them. But we both know the truth, Father. Sonic is a threat, a dangerous wildcard that can't be controlled or trusted. And now, with Little Planet free... he's an even greater threat than before. We need to find a way to stop him, to neutralize his power once and for all. Before he destroys everything you've worked so hard to build." "That we will, but another time. According to my research, Little Planet only enters the atmosphere once a year, so we might as well forget about everything there... Including Metal Sonic. Curse that hedgehog, destroying my most time consuming and advanced creation yet! Well, nothing we can do about it now, I suppose. Oh, by the way, you've done a good job today, Amy. I'm impressed." Amy's rage quelled at Robotnik's words. He had complimented her before, but never like this. This time, it wasn't just her work that her father was valuing. No, she did a good job. This was the most affection that she had ever been shown by her father. It felt... Good. It left Amy with a newfound sense of determination, knowing that she had something that wasn't given out to just anybody. "Ah well, at least today wasn't a total failure." Robotnik lamented. "It... It's not?" Amy asked. "Not at all, Amy! You're in Sonic's good graces! He has no idea what your ultimate goal is, so I can always send you in as a double agent! A bit subtle for me, but it'll have to do." Robotnik boasted. Amy perked up at his words, his plan that could only be thought up by someone as ingenious as her father. "I'll be your eyes and ears, Father. I'll be your secret weapon, hidden in plain sight. And when the time is right, I'll strike, and Sonic will never know what hit him. Together, we'll make the world a better place, a place where order and control reign supreme." she promised.
