Fall of the Last Guardian
Unknown Location
A hooded man and a blue jackal-shaped creature collapsed on the rocky surface, blood seeping from where a horn had pierced the man's chest. They had fought with all their might, but they couldn't withstand the onslaught of the army they'd been battling for so long.
"Return, Rhyperior," the man said weakly, his voice barely a whisper.
Footsteps approached, and the man's enemy came into view. The brown-haired man looked at him with a mix of loathing, revulsion, and a hint of amusement.
"So, will I finally learn the identity of the Aura Guardian who has been a thorn in my side?" sneered the man.
"No, you won't. I've erased all traces of my past. But I was once a victim of your tyranny. You won't lay a hand on my family."
"Hmph, disappointing. I would have relished hearing their screams. But alas, today is the day you die," the man smirked.
"Even if you kill me, know that I've won," the guardian muttered defiantly.
"What nonsense are you spout-?" the man began, but was cut off by a sudden explosion that rocked the land.
Panic and chaos ensued as the lab was destroyed, and the man's plans were foiled.
"Fool! Do you have any idea what you've done?" the man yelled, kicking the fallen guardian.
As darkness enveloped them, the last thoughts of the hooded man were of regret and farewell to his loved ones. With a final smile shared between partners, they breathed their last.
The Last Guardian was no more.
