Ok, now this was really creepy. Last night was insane. I mean, finding another dead body? Shōyō was definitely not eager to go to work today. He couldn't keep relying on his friends to keep him company, so he didn't call, text, or say anything to anyone about his shift.

"Please let this be a normal night shift...Please let this be a normal night shift..." Shōyō repeated these same words over and over, like a mantra or prayer.

His only task that night was to keep tabs on the CCTV footage and make sure no one broke into the gas station. But then again, who would want to break into a crummy gas station? Certainly not anyone dangerous, right?

Shōyō switched on his laptop and began clicking the keys, searching for the exact link to the cameras. The soft tapping of his fingers on the keys was the only sound that filled the building, along with the soft patter of rain from outside.

It had only been five minutes since Shōyō arrived, and he already felt extremely uneasy. Anytime a bolt of lightning struck somewhere far away in the distance, he would freeze in place. And when the thunder came afterwards, Shōyō almost shit himself.

He swapped back and forth between cameras, scanning the area before switching to the next screen. Cameras one, two, and three showed the front of the building. Cameras four and five presented the back. And finally, cameras six and seven showcased the inside, giving Shōyō a look at the storage closet and back room.

"Check, check, and check." He noted as he took a glance at the first three cameras. Everything seemed calm enough. The rest of the cams were mostly the same.

Fuck.

Shōyō switched to camera eight, the camera that his manager said he didn't need to use. The camera that showed himself, the counter, and the window from a corner angle. Shōyō thought everything looked normal, until he took a quick peek at the window.

The deformed face of a head stared back at him.

And it was only a head, hanging by a rope from the gas station's roof. Shōyō screamed and slammed his laptop shut, too terrified to even turn around and face the window behind him. He snatched the gun Tadashi had left and began shooting at the glass, the sound of shattering filling his mind. The head dropped to the dirt outside with a soft thud, the rope unraveling along with it.

"Holy motherfucker..." Shōyō took a few deep breaths and grabbed onto the edge of the counter for support. His heart was thumping in his chest, pounding like crazy. A few crackles of lightning descended from the dark sky, followed by loud booming thunder.

The rest of the night, Shōyō's senses were heightened, and he would let out a small squeak whenever he heard the slightest sound. The window was shattered, so he covered it up with old newspapers and some tape. Shōyō took back his words after that. Working the night shift was going to be the death of him.

A/N: Guys, I am so sorry I haven't posted today! This chap was kinda rushed since I wanted to post it quickly.
