He immediately sat down on his sleeping bag and pulled his legs close to his chest and hugged them with his arms. He couldn't believe what he was going to do, even if it was a dream world he gave in, he almost killed Arthur. He started shaking and crying, he couldn't believe he was so weak and so... and if this thing could force him into reality, he could become a danger to everyone... He didn't even didn't realize that he had put his hands to his head and started pulling on his hair before he felt hands on his trying to stop him from hurting himself.

"Merlin! Calm down, what's wrong?" Lancelot was awakened by the sounds of crying which were quite loud in the stillness of the night. He looked around to see that he wasn't the only one, all the knights and their king seemed to be standing but he didn't pay attention to them at the moment, he had to calm his friend down first .

He wasn't sure if he even heard it, he could see Gwaine trying to approach them but Merlin reacted first.

"You must not come near me!" He moved away from the knight's hands, looking up at the fire, that's when he noticed everyone was awake. They all had a worried look on him but he couldn't pay any attention to them. If he had felt fear before in addition to anger, other negative feelings quickly took over. He didn't know where they came from, it wasn't the first time he felt a certain loathing of himself and a fear of his power but here everything was stronger. He could no longer control anything, his thoughts were a form of prolonged hatred against himself, he had started to panic without realizing it. His breathing was getting short, he was going to end up passing out like that.

"Listen to me, you need to calm down and breathe deeply." Lancelot tried to grab his shoulder again and this time the wizard didn't move away but he didn't know if it was on purpose or if he was too far away to even notice his presence.

Seeing no reaction the knight took Merlin's face with one hand to try to make her focus on him, he could see that those pupils were trembling, her face was pale which was accentuated by the red of those eyes.

"Merlin, are you with me?" He could see faint recognition, the wizard's eyes had finally met his.

"That's good, now try to breathe with me okay." Lancelot showed him how to do it but it took him a good ten minutes to calm his labored breathing and once he finally calmed the servant and fell into the knight's arms.

"Are you okay?" There was no response, Gwaine who was now next to him checking the wizard.

"I think he passed out." Gwaine said it loud enough for everyone to hear.

"What just happened?" Arthur asked, he was worried about his friend, he had never seen him like this.

" I don't know." Lancelot answered them, he hugged his friend without wanting to let go.

"Do you think this is this place?" It was Leon who asked, the servant had been anxious since this morning but he had seen it get worse since they were here. And with all the magical craziness they'd encountered over the last few years he wouldn't really find it surprising either.

No one said anything, normally they wouldn't have such conclusions but their friend's panic was too real and strong to be normal. They spent the rest of the night on alert, watching over the servant and the surrounding area for fear of an attack. Now that the doubt of a magical problem had entered their minds, they could not forget it.

As soon as the sun started to rise, they all silently started packing up so they could quickly leave here and head to Camelot. He had to get Merlin back to Gais as quickly as possible. They didn't even wake the servant for fear that he would have another seizure like last night, they waited until the last moment to do it just before they got on their horses.

"Merlin, wake up." Lancelot woke him up carefully, waiting for his reaction.

The wizard opened his eyes but the previous panic was absent, he looked around with confused eyes.

" What has happened ? Why didn't you wake up?!" He jumped up but almost fell back onto the grass, for some unknown reason he had a headache. He raised a hand to his head as he looked at the knight with a question.

"You don't remember what happened last night?"

"No, should I?" He really didn't understand, he was asleep then we woke him up

this morning. There had been nothing in the meantime...right?

They all exchanged a look with each other with mutual acceptance: they wouldn't say anything until it was necessary to do so, if their friend had a moment where he broke down in front of them they were going to keep it to themselves. Well maybe talk to Gais about it, given their bond he could take care of Merlin to avoid something similar.

"No, no, nothing happened, don't worry." Lancelot quickly tried to change the conversation.

"We have to leave before the weather changes again." Arthur called them before they had time to say anything. They all went on horseback, the return to Camelot was calmer than the way there. Merlin seemed calmer and joking with Arthur like he usually would.

Even though he seemed to have calmed down again Merlin thought something was strange like he had forgotten something but he didn't know what even though he felt it was important. But even that idea was gone as quickly as it came.
