Chapter 7: Stories of the GIW

A/N: Disclaimer: I do not own Stargate SG1 or Danny Phantom characters or original storylines, all right go to the original creators of both series (Stargate SG1: Brad Wright & Jonathan Glassner. Danny Phantom: Butch Hartman.). I only own the plot and any characters created for this fanfic.

Also, I write this for fun, so while I'm trying to be faithful to the characters and storylines of the original content, I am not stressing about all the details. I was just thinking about what would happen if Danny joined the SGC when he became an adult and joined the Air Force. I'd be happy for any suggestions on how all the secrets eventually come out if you have any. I'll be trying to post on the weekends, but I work a second job that can sometimes take up what little free time I have.

Danny found a spot where he could watch the main entrance to the hall they had setup there base camp in, as well as check on what the others were doing. Dr Jackson was the main member who seemed more interested in their surroundings than staying warm by the fire, though he would return to it ever so often to warm back up. Danny knew he should probably go to 'warm up' to avoid any concerns or suspicions, so he gave a heavy sigh as he moved from his position to do just that.

"So kid, what do you think of your first alien planet?" Colonel O'Neil asked him when he got close.

"I'm enjoying the cold, it reminds me of the home of one of my friends. They live in a very snowy region that I enjoy visiting when I can." Danny shared.

"Did they also have Yetis, like the ones on the walls here?" Colonel O'Neil asked.

"My friend was the King of some ghost Yetis." Danny answered.

"Again with the ghosts, kid?" The Colonel asked.

"Sir?" Danny had a feeling his openness about his various encounters with ghosts growing up, while dancing around his own ghostliness, would be met with skepticism. And apparently he had met the end of the Colonel's tolerance for ghost stories. Dr Jackson and Captain Carter had both seemed more open to the idea and regularly had asked him various questions regarding what he knew around the science of ghosts and the 'Ghost Zone', but Colonel O'Neil was more skeptical.

"Here you are on a whole other planet, and yet you are comparing it to some 'ghosts' that you met. Are you really not in awe of being so far from Earth?" Colonel O'Neil asked.

"Sir, I feel like that fact hasn't fully registered, maybe once the storm settles and I can see the differences in the sky, especially the night sky and the placement of the stars, it'll really start to sink in." Danny shrugged.

"The Yeti friend you mentioned, I'm assuming their home is in the Ghost Zone place you mentioned, is that right?" Dr. Jackson asked.

"It is, in fact the yetis on the wall look sorta like them. That's what I was looking at when I first got here."

"Fascinating, so there may be the dead from other planets residing in the Ghost Zone?" Captain Carter asked.

"One of the Zone's other names is the Infinite Realms for a reason. The way it was explained to me by one of my friends who live there is basically it is the flip side of the living realms. The two are so closely interwoven that Destroying one will destroy the other." Danny explained.

"Sam, Daniel, you both believe in the kid's ghost stories? I expected more from you both." Colonel O'Neil complained.

"O'Neil, would ghosts not be a way to explain how my last punch in that sparring session passed through Fenton instead of causing great harm?" Teal'C asked.

"Wait, what happened?" Dr Jackson asked, startled to hear what had happened.

"It's more likely that his inventor parents figured out how to make phase technology, and just haven't shared it with the world. We all know how weary inventors can be of the military making use of certain advanced technologies." Colonel O'Neil explained.

"You're not far off with your comment about my parents being hesitant when it comes to sharing any further inventions of theirs with the US Government. There were laws made based on my parents' research that they later realized was heavily biased and incorrect. At first my parents listed all ectoplasmic entities as non-sentient and evil. They have since learned that that isn't correct, in fact they are now on friendly terms with some of my ghostly friends.

"As far as any of us could tell, they took my parent's original research, with no attempts to peer review, and declared the very existence of ectoplasmic entities as illegal and created a whole department dedicated to the capture, experimentation and eradication of any and all that created and/or needed ectoplasm to survive." SG1 stared at Danny in horror.

"Is that the department you said was shut down because of the collateral damage they caused?" Dr Jackson asked.

"Only officially, the GIW are still in power, though we aren't completely sure where they are getting their funding from. My friends and I tried to look into that and just ended up reaching a dead end." Danny explained. "The only reason they got shut down in the first place is because the collateral damage caused specifically by them instead of the ghosts they were supposed to hunt got so bad the people in power started to complain. So there was a big show of them getting shut down and all signs of them disappeared for a few months. Then ghosts started disappearing. One of the ghosts I know does their best to protect the ghosts and humans from each other was able to find them in a facility that was run by the new and improved Ghost Investigation Ward." Danny couldn't help but think back to the horrors he had seen when he and a few of his ghostly allies had gone in to rescue the captured ghosts.

"I don't even want to imagine what horrors they found. Especially if they were captured by a group that's main goals are experimentation and eradication." Captain Carter said after a moment of quiet. They all were horrified to think there was a group out there worse than the NID.
