bopdog111: We're back for another 2 duels here.
Ulrich362: True, it's been a while.
bopdog111: We seen Joey managed to shut Mai up.
Ulrich362: True, and we saw Chie show off her dueling talent too.
bopdog111: What is next for our group here?
Ulrich362: Yuji's going to have his turn against a watery opponent, and hopefully his zombies won't get dragged to Davy Jones' Locker, and then we might see how the champion duelist Gale is handling herself, Joey did throw down the gauntlet against her back on the boat.
bopdog111: We will see here now.
Ulrich362: Sounds good to me, enjoy the chapter.

"Oh yeah! Look out world, here comes Joey Wheeler!"
Right now the group of Yugi, Yuji, Chie, Tristan, Tea, and Joey are together where said last boy is gloating about his victory against Mai. Now he has 2 Star Chips, and he can't resist bragging or feeling giddy about it. Tea, and Tristan are more annoyed, Chie embarrassed on how he's reacting, but Yugi, and Yuji are both proud. They both knew if Joey put his faith in the cards, they will go through for him, and helped him against Mai.
They need to be strong, and to grow as duelists if they hope to defeat Pegasus, and rescue Solomon from him. Although they should make sure Joey doesn't get too cocky.
"Is there limit on how long he gets to brag about winning that duel?" Tea asked in annoyance.
"Oh yet him have his moment Tea, do you really think Joey would ever manage to win against Mai, I mean... it's Joey." Tristan pointed out that despite all the things that make Joey Joey, he still managed to pull off something they didn't think he would do..
"Of course he could, I knew Joey could win the match." Yugi smiled as Yuji grinned in agreement.
"Yeah, you did amazing Joey." Yuji smiled warmly.
"Yeah of course!" Joey grinned over. Then he froze as everyone heard a stomach grumble that he groaned placing a hand on his stomach. "Oh man... I'm starved... all that dueling took a lot out of me." He then looked at the group hopefully, "Hey uh, you all brought some food do ya?"
"No." all but Yuji responded.
"All I have are some protein bars but I don't think you would want them." Yuji follows a eating plan that as he's vegan, eats some protein bars, and other healthy stuff to have a healthy diet, and to lots of others disapprove of the taste.
"Ah man, why didn't we pack up any food?" Joey groaned his determination to help his sister, and Solomon made him forget to pack some food to last for the tournament now coming back to bite him. "How can we go through the rest of the time we're here without food?"
"Good question, there aren't any restaurants, or snack joints around here since we arrived." Yugi cupped his chin in thought hearing that, they didn't give any thought of food any time of day which now looks to be a bad idea for them.
"Well we better figure out something fast." Tea told them looking like she's about to lose it. "If I don't have my five basic food groups... it's metabolic meltdown!"
"Don't worry you guys, I have it handled." Tristan reassured them as everyone looked over at him eagerly only for him to reveal a book. "The Great Outdoor Survival Guide."
"Is it edible?" Joey questioned as everyone's expressions fell while Yuji, and Chie dropped down anime style.
"Better, it lists all the plants, roots, berries, and grasses we can eat." Tristan smiled flipping through the book to try finding which of them is on the island.
That made almost all of them cringe in disgust. There are SO many things, they think is wrong by that. Despite knowing the guide could mean healthy stuff for them, and that Tristan knows best, there's no way there gonna eat anything covered in dirt, crap, or what else! They rather starve then eat something disgusting from the ground up.
"Even I'm vegan that I know that isn't appealing." Yuji admitted over pulling out a protein bar before offering one to Chie which she refused.
"Hey, do I look like a chipmunk to you?" Joey glared at Tristan from his plan of meals. Then he paused before smelling the air. "Hey, your book's not important now... I'm smelling something cooking!" With that said he turned to a direction running over where he's smelling the scent of cooking food right now. "Bye!"
"He has to be imagining things." Tea frowned as they watched him run off.
"I don't know, he did pick up on Mai's perfume trick... maybe he's on to something." Yuji admitted over that Joey did beat Mai with his nose.
With no other choice they followed Joey before reaching the edge of the island where to their shock they saw several fish cooking on a flame.
"Oh man, I love barbecued fish." Joey smiled looking at them hungrily.
"It smells so good." Tristan admitted.
"Yeah, and I bet they taste even better than that." Joey mentioned as he started to run to the fish.
"Hey wait Joey, those fish aren't yours!" Chie called reaching a hand where despite her hunger, can't take some food that ain't yours. "What if the people cooking them come back, and find their gone!?"
"That's there fault! Besides Chie eat first, then think, your stomachs will thank me!" Joey had no intention of stopping not when the sight of food is right in front of him.
"Joey!" Tea then groaned over face-palming. "He'd do anything to stuff his face!"
"He seriously has no self-control." Tristan agreed crossing his arms with a nod that the three looked at him. Then he looked starved chasing after Joey. "Joey, wait up, save some for me!"
"So does Tristan apparently..." Yuji trailed off with a sweatdrop seeing that.
Joey and Tristan picked up two of the fish to start eating as Tristan burned his hand only for someone to emerge from the water holding a spear as he saw the group about to dig into the fish.
"Ready, set, feeding frenzy!" Tristan and Joey cheered together.
"I hope you enjoy yourselves you thieves, this is your last meal!" the man who emerged from the water threatened getting their attention. "How dare you eat my fish, has no-one taught you manners-" He was cut off as a wave dragged him back into the ocean.
Everyone blinked at sweat-drops seeing that from the man threatening them was washed away. Just then a hand emerged from the ocean rose up climbing back up growling from his interruption by the ocean. "Okay, let's try that again..."
"Oh god." Tea, and Chie groaned together not fan of the rewind button being repeated on important things.
"How dare you eat my fish!"
"Hey calm down, buddy, it's just a few fish." Joey tried to calm the guy down but it only seemed to upset the guy more.
"A few fish that aren't yours!" the guy yelled at them as they see him closely as a man that's ripped with tanned skin, a scar on his cheek, spiky blue hair, and something on his right hand. "And stealing a fisherman's catch means you all have no honor!" He clenched his right hand saying this which allows Yugi, and Yuji to notice what was on it, a Duelist Kingdom Gauntlet.
"Huh, that's a duel gauntlet." Yuji realized as Yugi's eyes widened.
"Wait a second, your Mako Tsunami the top ranked ocean duelist aren't you?" Yugi asked in awe which turned to them with a raised eyebrow.
"That's right, and who are you?"
"Mako... oh yeah, the freaky fish guy." Joey recalled causing Mako to glare at him in annoyance.
"I am not some freaky fish guy!" he snapped which made Joey flinch before he then bumped his arm against his chest. "I am Mako Tsunami, duelist extraordinaire of the seven seas!"
Tea blinked at that before she and Chie notice something, and couldn't help giggling. Mako looked confused from this before looking annoyed thinking they are laughing at him. "What are you two laughing at?"
"You grabbed a passenger on your head." Feeling something on his head Mako looked up seeing tentacles. Joey started laughing seeing it was an octopus but Mako wasn't as amused grabbing it off his head, and turned throwing it back into the ocean from wench it came.
Both Tristan, and Joey looked devastated from him throwing the octopus back to the ocean with anime tears rolling down there cheeks running to the edge of the island looking down to the ocean where the octopus landed at.
"Ah man, I wanted to eat that octopus..."
"Wish, I was able too..."
Mako stared at them feeling a bit weirded out from them before turning to the others. "You're telling me that those two are here as duelists?"
"Sorry about your fish, my name's Yugi Muto." Yugi apologized to him causing Mako's eyes to widen in shock.
"Wait you're Yugi Muto, the only duelist to ever defeat Seto Kaiba?" he then turned over towards the other guy. "And that must mean you're his brother Yuji."
"That's right." Yuji nodded. "And we're really sorry Mako."
He only laughed happily not caring about the fish any longer from some booty his catches of the day brought him over. "What an honor, it would be an honor to challenge you to a duel!"
"A duel, sure that sounds good to me." Yuji smiled. "It could be a really great match."
"I apologize for being so rude." Mako spoke over before he turned back to Joey, and Tristan. "If you both are friends of Yugi, and Yuji, please come sit, and eat your fill, I have caught too many for me to have alone."
"Yay!" Both of them headed back thanking Mako before proceeding to resume on the fish they been having.
Everyone proceeded to eat the fish Mako had caught all admiring how he had cooked it. Yuji himself was just eating the protein bars he had on hand since he's not a big fish eater due to being vegan. He didn't see the look Mako was giving him, and Yugi while they eat.
When they finished Joey, and Tritan burped loudly not caring for manners rubbing there full stomachs which Chie glared over towards them looking disgusted. Tea then smiled over to Mako. "Those fishes we're really good. How'd you learn to cook like that?"
Mako laughed over from this question. "I had to learn survival skills when I was just a small fry. But my father taught me to fish, and cook."
"So what brings you here Mako?"
"I was raised on a boat where I learned to love the sea. So if I win here, I would get myself my own ship." Mako explained his reasons why he entered the tournament. Then he spoke over to them. "Of course, I need to win my way by defeating a few duelists." He then laughed joyfully from this.
"You want your own boat, that sounds amazing." Tea smiled. "Living life out on the bright blue sea."
"Yeah, and we shared a special bond together ever since I was born." Mako confirmed looking towards the great blue ocean. "When it's happy, it's sparkles like how it's doing now. When it's angry though, it shifts the tides." That confuses them which he paused before rubbing his head looking sheepish. "I apologize, I didn't mean to sound so serious."
"Oh no, no apologies." Tea assured him waving her hands.
"Yeah, you gave us food when we were starving!" Joey agreed before he stands up. "Well it has been great meeting with ya, and all, but we're recharged, and should get back to dueling!"
"Leaving so soon?" While they all got up, and started to walk off Mako grabbed his spear. "Hold it!" They turned where Yuji paused from something. Looking down he paled seeing Mako's spear was between his feet. Mako chuckled over with a grin crossing his arms. "I treated you all to dinner, I would like you to fulfill what you owe me, by dueling me here, and now."
"Are you nuts! What if you hit Yuji with that spear?" Joey glared.
"I do not intend to skewer you." Mako spoke towards them. "I am a fisherman, and I always don't let my catch escape me! With the fish as my bait, I drawn some duelists over towards me! I didn't expect, I catch Yugi, and Yuji themselves though."
"Hey don't listen to this crazy guy you two." Tristan spoke to Yuji, and Yugi figuring they should just go.
Mako then revealed on his Duel Gauntlet he has three Star Chips. "I reeled another duelist a little ago, and but he wasn't worthy for me." He then pointed towards the two. "But against you two, will be a true test!"
At that Yugi's Millennium Puzzle glowed. "YU-GI-OH!" After a spark of light the mature Yugi stands with a grin. He turned to Yuji who nodded over which the mature Yugi grinned to Mako. "Mako Tsunami, we accept your challenge."
"Behold, Yugi, and Yuji." Mako grinned as something rose from the ocean. "Our field is the ocean itself!" The water cleared off revealing a dueling area with a Field Spell equipped.
"Field Spell, Umi, activated." the Dueling Arena spoke as it generated the card in the Field Zones.
Umi
Field Spell Card
All Fish, Sea Serpent, Thunder, and Aqua monsters on the field gain 200 ATK/DEF, also all Machine and Pyro monsters on the field lose 200 ATK/DEF.
Yuji then turned towards the mature Yugi. "Yugi, I'll take this one."
"Are you sure, Yuji?" the mature Yugi turned over to see if he's sure about this decision.
Yuji nodded to him turning back to Mako. "Yeah, I haven't had a chance to duel in this tournament yet. I can't let you all get ahead of me here."
"I'm glad you accept my challenge Yuji, of course once I defeat you I'll take on Yugi next." Mako grinned.
"Keep dreaming Mako, you'll never be able to beat Yuji." Joey smirked.
"We'll have to see, how many Star chips do you wager?" Mako asked Yuji.
"I only have 2 so far, since I haven't dueled yet." Yuji spoke as he, and Mako stepped onto the Dueling Field. "But to make things interesting, I'll bet the only 2, I have." He removed them from his gauntlet placing them on his field to bet on them.
"A brave decision. Very well I'll wager two Star Chips as well." Mako grinned removing his own Star Chips to place. "Though I'll let you go first since this will be your one and only duel."
"Yuji, put this wet joker back to the sea where he came from!" Joey moral on for Yuji eager to see what he duels like.
"Go on Yuji, I know how you duel, and you can beat this guy." Chie said as she watches herself already supporting Yuji all the way like how he does for her back in her duel with Rocky.
"DUEL!"
(Dueling Theme: Lifeline by TFK)
Yuji: 4000

Mako: 4000
Hand: 5

Let the duel commence!
Yuji 1st Turn:
Yuji looked at his hand before nodding. "Ok, I'll start by setting one card facedown and then I'll summon Samurai Skull in attack position." From the ocean rose a zombie skull with fangs wearing a samurai helmet growling.
(Attack Position)
Samurai Skull
DARK
Level 4
Zombie/Effect
ATK: 1700
DEF: 0
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 Zombie monster from your Deck to the GY. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie monster from your Deck, except "Samurai Skull".
"Then, when I summon this monster I can send a Zombie from my deck to my graveyard and I pick Vendread Anima."
He took the card before pocketing it.
"Then, I'll activate Pyramid of Wonders to end my turn." Next was a underground zombie ruined pyramid raising up.
(face-up)
Pyramid of Wonders
Continuous Spell Card
All Zombie monsters you control gain 200 ATK for each monster your opponent controls. If exactly 1 Zombie monster you control (and no other cards) would be destroyed, you can send this card to the GY instead.
Yuji's Hand: 2/Field: Samurai Skull (Attack Position), Pyramid of Wonders (face-up), One Set Card
Mako 1st Turn:
"All done then? My turn." Mako grinned drawing checking over. Yuji uses Zombies, and a Vendread card... powerful Zombie cards but had heard that Yuji has a one of a kind card, that makes him, him. So he's eager to see if he can have Yuji use that card in this match. "I will begin with Fish Sonar!" A spell appeared on his field.
Fish Sonar
Normal Spell Card
Add 1 Level 7 or lower monster from your Deck to your hand, that mentions "Umi", or is a WATER Normal Monster, then if "Umi" is on the field, you can Special Summon 1 WATER Normal Monster from your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Fish Sonar" per turn.
"I take a monster that's Level 7 or lower from my Deck to my hand that mentions Umi or is a WATER Normal Monster. Then with Umi present on the field, I can summon a WATER Normal Monster from my hand." Mako takes a card in his hand before his Deck ejected another that he takes. "So rise from the deep, Kairyu-Shin!"
From the ocean rose a large blue sea serpent with red eyes growling.
(Attack Position)
Kairyu-Shin
WATER
Level 5
Sea Serpent/Normal
ATK: 1800
DEF: 1500
A sea dragon known as the King of the Ocean, it attacks its enemies with huge tidal waves.
"Whoa that is one big snake..." Joey trailed off looking intimidated from it.
"It's not very strong though..." Tristan admitted over. "Even with the field bonus it's not as tough as I expected it to be."
Kairyu-Shin: (ATK: 1800 + 200 = 2000/DEF: 1500 + 200 = 1700)
"Your monster isn't the only one getting a power boost, my Pyramid of Wonders gives Samurai Skull 200 more attack points." Yuji revealed.
Samurai Skull: (ATK: 1700 + 200 = 1900)
"And the more monsters Mako has, the more in strength it will gain." Tea spoke having been familiar with Yuji's support cards for his Deck.
"Very well then." Mako takes a card as Kairyu-Shin lowered down. "It's gonna need that strength against this!"
"The Large Ocean! The ultimate playground for Fishermen around the world! The catch of the day is the result of the greatest Fisherman! Tribute Summon!" Mako places a card. "Come on, The Legendary Fisherman!"
Raising up was a tanned muscled man with long spiky blue hair wearing a green sash, and holding a spear while riding a shark.
(Attack Position)
The Legendary Fisherman
WATER
Level 5
Warrior/Effect
ATK: 1850
DEF: 1600
While "Umi" is on the field, this card is unaffected by Spell effects and cannot be targeted for attacks, but does not prevent your opponent from attacking you directly.
"Huh, why would he do that?" Joey blinked. "His monster's weaker than Yuji's now."
"Why? Well simple question." Mako grinned over before then activating a spell. "First let's activate Sea Stealth II!"
Something appeared to be happening below the water that Yuji raised an eyebrow at.
(face-up)
Sea Stealth II
Continuous Spell Card
This card's name becomes "Umi" while on the field or in the GY. Your opponent cannot target WATER monsters you control with non-WATER monster effects. At the start of the Battle Phase: You can Special Summon from your hand or GY, 1 monster that mentions "Umi", or 1 WATER Normal Monster, in Defense Position, but destroy it at the end of the Battle Phase. You can only use this effect of "Sea Stealth II" once per turn.
Sea Stealth II: (Name: Umi)
"We will get onto it later." Mako then sets a card. "For one with one card down, it's your move Yuji."
Chie narrowed her eyes looking suspicious. Mako's first monster was strong enough but he switched it with something immune to spells that's also weaker but also left some spells and traps. Probably traps that require attacking as the bait. She's not worried for Yuji, no. She's confident like he is for her all the way.
Mako's Hand: 3/Field: The Legendary Fisherman (Attack Position), Sea Stealth II (face-up/Name: Umi), One Set Card
Yuji: 4000
Hand: 2
Field: Samurai Skull (Attack Position), Pyramid of Wonders (face-up), One Set Card
Mako: 4000
Hand: 3
Field: The Legendary Fisherman (Attack Position), Sea Stealth II (face-up/Name: Umi), One Set Card
Yuji 2nd Turn:
"Alright..." Yuji nodded suspiciously before drawing his card. Seeing a move to make he nodded before placing in a card. "I play Trade-In!"
Trade-In
Normal Spell Card
Discard 1 Level 8 monster; draw 2 cards.
"I'll send Vendread Scavenger to the graveyard to draw two more cards."
He discarded a ritual and drew his cards before grinning. "Ok, now I'll summon Vendread Houndhorde!" From that a zombie decaying hound rose up growling.
(Attack Position)
Vendread Houndhorde
DARK
Level 3
Zombie/Effect
ATK: 0
DEF: 2100
If this card is in your GY: You can discard 1 "Vendread" card; Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains the following effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Vendread Houndhorde" once per turn.
● Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; banish it.
Vendread Houndhorde: (ATK: 0 + 200 = 200)
"That thing is really weak though..." Tristan trailed off as both he, and Joey haven't seen Yuji duel much so they never seen the kind of strategies, and imagination he has.
"Ok, with that done I'll use Revendread Origin." Yuji grinned using his signature Ritual Spell.
Revendread Origin
Ritual Spell Card
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Vendread" Ritual Monster from your hand or GY. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish Zombie monsters from your GY, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If "Revendread Slayer(s)" you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.
"This spell lets me Ritual Summon a Vendread Monster."
"Awesome, a level seven Ritual Monster will definitely help." Tristan grinned only for Chie to shake her head.
"Yuji's Rituals are a bit more special." she explained
"Revendread Origin lets me sacrifice Samurai Skull and Vendread Houndhorde on my field, and banish Vendread Anima from my graveyard to Ritual Summon a Vendread from my graveyard!"
The two zombies on his field and Anima vanished as the altar appeared.
"Accumulated Mass of the Infected Horde! Be reborn into a powerful tyrant, that is capable of being the strongest weapon to wipe out all of humanity! Gain salvation within these souls! Ritual Summon! Level 8, Vendread Scavenger!"
(Attack Position)
(Gains effect from Vendread Houndhorde)
Vendread Scavenger
DARK
Level 8
Zombie/Ritual/Effect
ATK: 2800
DEF: 0
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Vendread" Ritual Spell. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 other Zombie monster; this card gains ATK equal to the Tributed monster's original ATK until the end of this turn. If you control "Revendread Slayer" and this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Vendread Scavenger" once per turn.
Vendread Scavenger: (ATK: 2800 + 200 = 3000)
"Whoa? That takes the 'reanimation' part of Zombies to the literal sense!" Tristan realized how powerful, and ironic that Ritual Spell sounds.
"And it's as strong as Blue-Eyes." the mature Yugi agreed seeing the strength of this monster.
"Ok, now... I use the effect of Vendread Scavenger to... banish Sea Stealth II!" Yuji called making his next move.
Scavenger charged up power punching the ocean as blackened tendrils wrapped around the spell on the field dragging it down to the ocean. Mako stared over before turning back. He has more copies of the card in his Deck, Yuji can't stop it completely. But he needs to get rid of that Ritual Monster in order to have a better chance of victory.
"Now, Vendread Scavenger attack!" Yuji called only for the Legendary Fisherman to dive underwater before Scavenger can attack it. "Huh, what happened?"
"Sorry we're you expecting to attack?" Mako grinned over. "As long as Umi's on the field, the Legendary Fisherman can't be attacked at all."
"What? So his Deck depends on that field that this arena uses?" Tea widen her eyes that Mako's greatest strength is the universal Field Spell that the arena has.
"Is it cheating that he has cards that can be used with it?" Joey wondered if that's well within the rules or just some cheap tactic.
"It's fair, Mako is taking advantage of the new rules for this tournament." the mature Yugi answered that it's all completely fair by seeing Mako's strategy. "It makes sense that an ocean duelist would choose to fight by the sea."
"However, Yuji, while you can't attack the Fisherman, you can go for me instead." Mako presented some good news, in exchange for his monster safe from harm, he puts himself in target's way.
"Wait, but that's 3000 points of damage!" Tristan cried in disbelief. "Why would he do that?"
"Yuji?" Chie turned towards him over what he will do.
Yuji looked suspicious but nodded. "Vendread Scavenger attack!"
Scavenger charges in towards Mako. He activated his face-down quick. "I activate Tornado Wall!" From that a wall of tornadoes rose from the ocean blocking Scavenger's attack.
(face-up)
Tornado Wall
Continuous Trap Card
Activate only if "Umi" is on the field. While "Umi" is on the field, you take no battle damage. If "Umi" is not on the field, destroy this card.
Yuji's eyes widened as the tornados blocked his monster. "What happened?"
"It was Tornado Wall." Scavenger moved back as Mako was shown grinning. "As long as it's on the field alongside Umi, I don't take any battle damage."
"Hey, that's gotta be cheap!" Joey yelled out from how powerful that card is from these circumstances. "He can't ever take damage as Umi can't leave the field!"
"It's fine, Scavenger can just banish Tornado Wall next turn." Chie reminded him. "So that was basically just Negate Attack."
"But it probably won't be any easier for now on." the mature Yugi spoken up that Mako probably has an idea against Scavenger on his turn.
"Your turn Mako." Yuji nodded ending his turn.
Yuji's Hand: 1/Field: Vendread Scarvenger: (Attack Position/ATK: 3000/Gains effect from Vendread Houndhorde), Pyramid of Wonders (face-up), One Set Card
Mako 2nd Turn:
"Then I draw!" Mako drew beginning his turn which Scavenger readied to banish Tornado Wall.
Though Yuji didn't banish the trap and looked to see what Mako would do.
"First, I target both Legendary Fisherman, and your Ritual Monster!" Mako called as the two glowed as he shows a card. "By returning Legendary Fisherman to my hand, and destroying your Ritual Monster, I can summon this card from my hand! Doom Kraken!"
Fisherman waved before swimming away as as large tentacles wrapped around Scavenger trying to drag it down to the ocean to destroy it.
(Attack Position)
Doom Kraken
WATER
Level 4
Aqua/Effect
ATK: 1400
DEF: 1600
If "Umi" is on the field (Quick Effect): You can target 1 WATER monster you control, except "Doom Kraken", and 1 monster your opponent controls; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, return that monster you control to the hand, and if you do that, destroy that opponent's monster. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can return this card to the hand, and if you do, negate that attack. You can only use each effect of "Doom Kraken" once per turn.
Doom Kraken: (ATK: 1400 + 200 = 1600/DEF: 1600 + 200 = 1800)
Yuji's eyes widened in shock seeing that.
"No way!" Joey cried in shock.
"Not so fast, I use Pyramid of Wonder's ability to send it to the graveyard and protect Scavenger!" Yuji called quickly as his spell shattered.
Scavenger quickly resisted breaking out as the tentacles retracted. What rose on Mako's field was a large dark colored blue kraken with blue marks with translucent blue like color tentacles on it.
"Talk about creepy." Tea shuddered.
"Very well." Doom Kraken lowered down on the field as Mako placed a card. "Then let's try this!"
The waves start to raise as something was riding on it.
"Fisherman's Warf! That is the ocean of the ultimate catches! The most memorable catches are often made by those willing to go beyond! Tribute Summon! Surfs up, The Legendary Fisherman II!"
Raising up was a monster identical to the other Legendary Fisherman but this one has marks, and holds a harpoon gun.
(Attack Position)
The Legendary Fisherman II
WATER
Level 5
Warrior/Effect
ATK: 2200
DEF: 1800
This card's name becomes "The Legendary Fisherman" while on the field or in the GY. While "Umi" is on the field, this card is unaffected by other monsters' effects. If this face-up card is destroyed by battle, or leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect while its owner controls it: You can add 1 Level 7 WATER monster from your Deck to your hand.
The Legendary Fisherman II: (ATK: 2200 + 200 = 2400/DEF: 1800 + 200 = 2000)
"A second one?" Joey raised an eyebrow from this having a feeling this one is more powerful then the last one.
"It would seem so." the mature Yugi noted.
"Next, the Rage of Kairyu-Shin!" Mako added using a spell.
Rage of Kairyu-Shin
Quick-Play Spell Card
If "Umi" is on the field: Target monsters your opponent controls, up to the number of WATER monsters you control whose original Levels are 5 or higher; destroy them, and if you do, the zones they were in cannot be used until the end of the next turn. You can only activate 1 "Rage of Kairyu-Shin" per turn.
"For every monster I have that is WATER, and a level equal or higher then 5, the same number of monsters you have are destroyed, and the zones they are in can't be used until the end of your next turn!" Fisherman II raise his harpoon gun as a large tsunami rose showing Kairyu-Shin in it growling before charging in at Scavenger.
Yuji's eyes widened. "No choice, I banish Tornado Wall!"
Scavenger charged it's effect as tendrils wrapped around Tornado Wall forcing it down just moments before the Kairyu-Shin wrapped around Scavenger from the tsunami forcing it down into the ocean.
"This is bad, Yuji's in a lot of trouble." Joey frowned.
"Now he can't banish any of Mako's cards anymore." Tristan spoke also worried for Yuji.
"I'm not worried." Chie spoken as when they looked sees she looks like Yuji in terms of supportive like they seen him when she dueled against Rocky. "I dueled him hundreds of times when we were younger, he's been dealt worse."
"Now it's get the battle started for real! Fisherman II, Harpoon Shot!" The Legendary Fisherman II readied aiming it's harpoon gun at Yuji firing it.
Yuji braced himself as he was hit by the harpoon.
(Yuji: 1600/Hand: 1)
"Your Ritual was a pain but now it's gone." Mako grinned as Fisherman II swam in front of him. "Want to try anything else?" He sets a card after saying that.
"Come on Yuji..." Chie spoke to herself clenching her hands together staring at Yuji with a look to find something to do, and take back the advantage.
Mako's Hand: 1/Field: The Legendary Fisherman II (Attack Position), One Set Card
Yuji: 1600

Yuji 3rd Turn:
Yuji drew his card as he looked at the field. "Wow Mako, you're really skilled."
"I came close to winning against Rex, and Weevil but Gale had managed to overwhelm me." Mako explained his placement within the tournament that he was almost in Champion Place until Gale defeated him in battle.
Yuji nodded before smiling. "Well, it's been fun but the duel is over Mako. I activate my set Book of Life card!"
Book of Life
Normal Spell Card
Target 1 Zombie monster in your GY and 1 monster in your opponent's GY; Special Summon the first target, also banish the second target.
"I can banish your Kairyu-Shin to bring Vendread Scavenger back from the graveyard!"
Mako blinked as the card slipped out of his graveyard while Yuji's Ritual Monster rose back up roaring.
Vendread Scavenger: (Attack Position)
"All that work Mako put in, and it only gotten rid of it for a little bit!" Joey grinned over seeing this. "Now Yuji's back to banishing cards again!"
"No he can't." Joey, and Tristan turned to Chie confused who explained. "That only happens if he Tributes a Vendread he has on the field for a Ritual Summon. Since Scavenger wasn't Ritual Summoned this time using Hoardhound, it can't banish Spell or Trap cards now."
"Then why did he bring it back?" Tristan turned back wondering what Yuji is up too now.
"I activate the spell card Zombie Necronize, since I have a level five or higher Zombie I take control of one monster you have until the end of the turn." Yuji revealed using the last card in his hand.
Zombie Necronize
Normal Spell Card
If a Level 5 or higher Zombie monster is on the field: Target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of it until the End Phase. During your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY: You can shuffle 1 of your banished Zombie monsters into the Deck, and if you do, Set this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Zombie Necronize" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
"So The Legendary Fisherman II is on my side of the field!"
"What?" Mako asked blinking as Fisherman II was hypnotized over to his field.
"Now, Vendread Scavenger attack!" Yuji called.
Scavenger charged in slashing down on Mako. (Mako: 1200/Hand: 1)
"Now, your own monster will end the duel, Legendary Fisherman II attack!"
The Fisherman aimed before firing over from his harpoon gun as he got hit grunting over.
Yuji: 1600
Hand: 0
Field: Vendread Scavenger (Attack Position), The Legendary Fisherman II (Attack Position), One Set Card
Mako: 0000
Hand: 1
Field: One Set Card
Yuji wins!
"He did it!" Tristan, and Joey double high-fived together seeing this while Chie looks proud with crossed arms seeing this.
"That was close, you almost had me Mako." Yuji admitted. "It was an amazing duel."
"I thought I did." Mako admitted as they headed back to land while the arena lowered down. "Here, your earned Star Chips." He handed the two he betted on fair, and square to Yuji which makes him have four.
"Thanks, and you're not beat yet... you still have a chance to make it to the finals." Yuji smiled.
"Gonna be more difficult now." Mako looked at his final Star Chip after saying that. Then he looked over towards Yuji. "Although, I was hoping, I have you summon the card, that makes you recognizable but I guess, I just wasn't worthy enough to face it."
"Well whatever the case, maybe next time we duel, I'll have you summon it." Mako shrugged before waving. "See you soon!" He then turned running, and jumped back into the water.
"Ok... you think he's going to be alright?" Tea asked.
"I think he'll be fine." Yugi back to normal spoke smiling. "He is the forth Champion Duelist after it."
They all smiled knowing that Mako will be fine against whatever opponent's is next, and hope they meet each other again during the tournament.
A few minutes later...
After leaving they all are walking together to try finding another duelist to duel against to be ready for the finals. Now that they all advanced, they all need to keep this going to increase there chances of confronting Pegasus, and free Soloman of whatever he had done to him. They were walking when they heard something, sounds of a duel nearby with a familiar female voice calling over.
"Now I summon Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman!"
"Joey!" Chie yelled as they all followed him.
Eventually soon they find within a Forest field was Gale herself dueling having just summoned a large warrior shaped as one of her Black Luster Soldiers with a spiked blade, and more enforced armor.
Gale: 3500
Sid: 1100
(Attack Position)
(Gains effect of Evening Twilight Knight)
(Gains effect of Beginning Knight)
Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman
EARTH
Level 8
Warrior/Effect/Ritual
ATK: 3000
DEF: 2500
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Chaos Form" or "Super Soldier Ritual". Must be Ritual Summoned. During your Draw Phase, before you draw: You can reveal this card in your hand; give up your normal draw this turn, and if you do, add 1 Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects during your Battle Phase. When this attacking card, that was Ritual Summoned using a Normal Monster, destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can shuffle all cards your opponent controls into the Deck.
Her opponent meanwhile has 2 set monsters, and 1 face-down Spell or Trap card looking smug with a hint of nervousness.
"Huh, what happened to you Gale? How'd this bozo deal any damage to you, are you losing your touch?" Joey asked her.
Hearing him Gale turned over towards him before turning back towards the duel focusing for now on the opponent. "Legendary Swordsman attack the monster on the left!" Legendary Swordsman readied over charging into it. Seeing her opponent about to activate his face-down she spoke. "Hold it there." He stopped looking confused. "During my Battle Phase, Legendary Swordsman prevents you from using your cards or effects!"
"Wait what!?" her opponent cried in shock.
Swordsman slashed down revealing the monster as a measly Sinister Serpent that hissed shattering. Gale continued forward. "In addition, if it destroys your monster in battle, the effect of Beginning Knight allows it to attack one more time!" Legendary Swordman charged on up before she added. "Before that, the effect of Evening Twilight Knight then allows it to banish a monster on your field!" Charging a chaos portal it forced the other monster to leave the field.
"No way, this can't be happening, he told me I could beat you!" Gale's opponent cried out.
"Well he told you wrong! I am the Top Regional Champion in the country boy, your hundreds of years too early to be facing me! Legendary Swordsman finish this!"
The warrior charged in slashing down onto the opponent.
Sid: 0000
Winner Gale
She dropped down when the ledges lowered enough to her opponent who was on his knees. She then brought her hand out as he looked to her. "Now your only Star Chips as promised."
Sid flinched as he handed her three Star Chips.
"How many do you have Gale?" Yugi asked curiously.
As she placed them on her Gauntlet, she walked to them speaking. "7 so far."
"7? You work fast." Tea spoke impressed by how quickly Gale is advancing.
"These people are way too easy." Gale admitted with her hands behind her head closed eyes. "Of course, the true challenge will only come at the next round, and I intend to be done with the kiddy duelists as soon as possible."
"Don't worry, I'll meet you in the finals and take you down." Joey smirked. "So when we get there come at me with everything you've got!"
"As long as you do." Gale gave her own challenging smirk. "Show me your a worthy challenge when we get there."
Joey only smiled at that.
Ulrich362: Well... looks like one finalist is all but guaranteed right?
bopdog111: Gale's just breezing through the competition.
Ulrich362: She definitely is, but Yugi, Joey, Chie, and Yuji aren't doing badly either... it's going to be quite the finals if they all make it.
bopdog111: Of course, the next duel will be challenging.
Ulrich362: It definitely will be. See you in the next chapter.
bopdog111: Be sure to review!
