Chapter 1: The Journey Begins
In a land far far away lies the kingdom of Fiore, a small peaceful nation of seventeen million and a place filled with magic. Found in every home, bought and sold in every market place, for most, magic is merely a tool, a part of everyday life. For some however, magic is an art and they've devoted their lives to its practice. These are the wizards.
Banding together to form magical guilds, they apply their skills in search of fame and fortune. Many such guilds dot the landscape of Fiore, but there is a certain guild in a certain town that soars above the rest. One from which countless legends have been born. A guild that will no doubt create legends well into the future. It's name, is 'FairyTail'
Hargeon, is a port town located in the southern part of the kingdom. Its denizens are mostly fishermen and merchants who live a quiet peaceful life. Throughout the year thousands of travelers and tourists visit either by train or ship. On this day however, a chance encounter was about to begin.
"So this Hargeon?" a young man said as he gazed out at the town.
This young man is Senko, and he isn't a man at all, but rather a humanoid fox called a kitsune. Kitsune are but one of the many magical creatures that live throughout Fiore. They, along with vulcan, exceeds, and celestial spirits, and many more can be found just about anywhere if one knows where to look.
Though secretive and aloof, kitsune often find themselves among humans. Most tend to live in secluded forest or meadows, but there are some who find the town and city life more to their liking. Those who do, will disguise themselves as humans, allowing them to blend in. Senko however, is far too prideful for that and would rather travel the world in his true kitsune form.
Senko is a seventeen year old 5 '7 ft tall male kitsune, though it's more accurate to say 5 '10 ft thanks to the two fox ears on top of his head. His fur is a light beige all over with dark beige fur on his hands, firearms, and fox feat. He has yellow eyes that glow with power and a small black nose.
The kitsune has a 6ft long and fluffy beige tail that has red markings towards the end that rings around it. These markings, along with the ones on the back of Senko's head, glow with a blazing inferno, causing the fox to appear as if he has hair made of fire.
He wears a deep red short sleeved vest that he keeps open and no undershirt, allowing his chest and stomach to be seen. The vest has a white lining and gold markings similar to the ones on his tail.
The fox also wears an emerald green scarf that hangs into two strips that flow in the wind. As well as an emerald green cloth that he wears like a belt, and dark green pants with a red flame emblem and red cloud designs on each pant leg and no shoes.
Finally, Senko wears a white mask that is perfectly shaped for his fox face. The mask has emerald green designs along the cheeks, around the eyes.
He carries a wooden staff that spreads out like the branches of a tree at the top. On each of these branches are Autumn leaves that never fall or wilt. The staff also has what looks like a blue spirit wrapping itself all around it.

"Father wasn't wrong about it. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. Still, I don't understand how traveling will help me."
One month earlier
"You want me to do what?" Senko asked in disbelief.
He looked up at his father who was giving him a stern look. His father, Kento, is the king of all foxes. He stands at 6 '5ft, and wears a brown tunic, a green hooded cloak, black pants, and no shoes. He has rust orange fur with a white fur flowing from the bottom of his muzzle down to his chest and stomach. Kento's tail is a rust orange color with a white tip and is also 6ft long.
"I want you to travel and gain experience," Kento answered. "Senko, as my eldest kit, you are to be the next king of foxes and ruler of Inari Forest. However, you lack the kind of wisdom and knowledge that a leader needs."
"Father, surely you jest. I spent so much of my time studying our laws, politics, culture, and society as a whole. I train in my magic daily and I have proven my leadership abilities in combat and in the scenarios you've created. I have also studied the laws of humans and can blend myself in without trouble. So why do you want me to leave?"
The fox king shook his head.
"I don't want you to leave Senko, I simply wish for you to travel, to go out into the world and learn all you can. This is in no way a banishment. You still have a home here, I simply wish for you to grow as both a kitsune and a man."
"Father, I don't understand," Senko said sadly, his ears folded back and his tail drooping.
Kento Stood up from his throne and walked over to Senko. He patted his son's shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile after getting his attention.
"My son, I understand your confusion, but believe me when I say this is for your best interest. It's true that you have shown great strides as a leader and as a powerful mage. However, we both know the truth that you have been trying desperately to hide. You have begun to stagnate."
Senko flinched and cast his eyes down at the floor.
"I-I…"
"It's alright Senko. I was once in the same dilemma you find yourself in now and that is why I am asking you to travel. I found that experiencing the world firsthand allowed me to go beyond what I thought possible with magic and I have no doubt it will be the same with you."
"You, my son, have some of the greatest magical potential I have seen in a long time. I would even dare to say that your power could one day rival that of the Kyuubi no Yoko."
Senko's eyes widened at this before he looked up to meet his father's eyes, his tail wagging softly. The Kyuubi no Yoko, nine tailed fox, was a legend to all foxes. A Kitsune so mighty that it could level entire mountains with one flick of its paw. Many foxes have dreamed of reaching such power, but none have ever been able to manage it.
"Father, do you truly believe that? That I could rival the power of the great nine tailed fox? You realize that not a single kitsune has been able to grow another tail in centuries. Even our greatest mages, who are powerful enough to fight on par with those on the humans' magic council, haven't been able to grow any new tails."
The fox king let out a laugh before waving off his son's concern.
"Senko, PRINCE Senko, I do not know why we no longer have the ability to grow new tails, but what I do know is that it doesn't matter. As you said, our best mages are able to stand their ground against the most powerful human wizards in existence. Do you honestly believe something as small as not having extra tails will take that away from them?"
"No, it won't," Senko answered with a smile.
"Exactly. And you my son are no different. I know you will become a great king, and that is why you must go. You will learn far more out there than you will here. And once you return, you will be welcomed back with open arms."
Senko smiled at his father before nodding.
"Very well father, for the good of our people and for you, I will go on this journey and become a stronger man. I promise to make you proud."
The young fox prince gave his majesty a hug, which was immediately returned.
"You already have."
Present
"I know what this is for and I'll admit that I'm happy to be able to see things like this, but nothing's changed," the kitsune said to himself with a small sigh. "Still, I'm just glad I can walk around without too much trouble. When the humans see me, they think I'm just an eccentric wizard or a mascot. Sure, I could have just taken a human form, but why would I hide who I am? Plus I feel so naked without my fur."
Senko was soon pulled from his thoughts when he saw a small gathering of women. He was just going to leave it alone until he heard them call out the name Salamander. He heard the name during his travels and remembered that a powerful fire wizard used it. Nodding to himself, he decided to see this Salamander for himself.
"Excuse me," the kitsune said as he pushed through the crowd. "If I could just-"
"Igneel!" a new voice yelled.
Senko turned his head and saw a boy with pink hair making his way through the crowd. He looked to be about eighteen years old and had a rather lean but muscular physique. He wore a dark blue sleeveless vest that was kept open, showing off his impressive chest and abs. He also wore a pair of white pants, dark blue shoes, and a white scaled scarf.
"Igneel! It's me, Natsu!"
"Natsu?" Senko thought to himself. "That's… a name."
Shaking his head, the kitsune prince turned to watch the interaction. When he got a better look at the man, he noticed he had dark blue hair, a blue X symbol on the right side of his forehead, and black eyes. He wore a white T-shirt, red pants, black shoes, and a navy blue cape with what looked like wheel symbols on it.
After taking the man in, Senko narrowed his eyes at what he saw next. Standing next to the man calling himself Salamander, was a young girl, most likely seventeen like him, with hearts in her eyes.
She had long blond hair, a white sleeveless collared shirt with a blue stripe going down the middle. She also wore a blue skirt with a white trim and a blue bow in her hair. She had Chocolate brown eyes, black shoes and white knee high socks.
That wasn't what caught Senko's attention however. No, what caught his attention was the magical energy surrounding the girl. In fact, he could sense the same energy surrounding all the girls here and that's when he realized what was going on. He was about to put a stop to it when the pink haired guy spoke.
"Who the heck are you?"
The blue haired man looked offended by the question. However, he quickly recovered and gave Natsu a charming smile.
"I'm Salamander, bet you've heard of me?"
Senko shook his head. He could tell this guy wasn't very powerful. He would have left it there if it wasn't for the spell being cast on all the girls. All of them except for the blonde girl who seemed to have snapped out of it.
He was about to cast a counter spell when he saw some of the girls attacking Natsu when he tried to walk away. Annoyed, the kitsune decided to finally make his presence known.
"HEY! KNOCK IT OFF!" he snarled.
Everyone froze before turning to him. All of their eyes widened in shock almost immediately. Their shock turned to horror when they saw Senko sumon out several fire balls.
"Who's this guy?" the blond girl thought to herself. "And is he wearing a fox costume?"
"He's a fire wizard?" Natsu thought as he looked up at the kitsune. "Wonder how good he is."
"Didn't you hear me? I said get off of him! Or would you rather I burn all your hair off?" the kitsune threatened.
"W-Wait a second, there's no reason to do that!" one of the girls said as he put her hands up.
"Yea, we were just teaching this guy not to be rude to such an amazing wizard!" another girl defined.
"Really? Because what you call a manners lesson I call a brutal beating," Senko answered with an annoyed growl. "And I'm sure the police would call it assault."
All the girls went pale before quickly getting off Natsu
"Hey now, there's no need for all that," the man claiming to be Salamander said with a smile while getting in between everyone.
Senko narrowed his eyes.
"Wrong, assaulting someone is a crime unless it is for a justified reason such as the person being a wanted criminal. All that guy did was walk away when he saw you weren't who he was looking for. Speaking of which, unless you want me to report you, I suggest you quit it with that charm spell of yours."
The dark blue haired man's eyes widened before he let out another flamboyant smile.
"Oh come now, I don't have the foggiest idea what you're talking about."
"Don't even try to deny it. I can sense the spell's magic all around us. What's more, that kind of magic has been illegal for the last fifty years."
Senko raised his staff up and pointed at the man, summoning even more fireballs.
"Unless you want to make things worse for yourself, Drop the spell NOW!"
"Geez, you really are a spoilsport, aren't you?" Salamander said with a sigh. "Very well."
The man snapped his fingers and like that, the spell was broken, returning the girls back to normal. Before anything else could happen however, the man called forth purple flames that he rode up towards the sky.
"Sorry ladies, it's been fun, but I gotta run," Salamander said flamboyantly. "Here's hoping we'll meet again, ta ta for now."
Senko watched as the human wizard flew away. Seeing everyone disperse, he decided to leave as well, but stopped when he saw the blonde girl and Natsu staring at him.
"Is there something I can help you with?" he asked.
"Oh, uh… I just wanted to thank you for helping us out back there," the girl answered while bowing. "My name is Lucy Heartfeelya, it's nice to meet you."
"A pleasure," Senko replied as he bowed as well. "My name is Senko, and please think nothing of it."
"Hey, don't be like that. That guy was a real creep. Who knows what he would've done if you didn't come along."
"I appreciate your words, but you should really thank our pink haired friend here," the beige fox said as he pointed his staff at Natsu. "I'm pretty sure his outburst is what allowed you to break free of the spell."
Lucy turned to Natsu who was eyeing Senko with suspicion.
"Hey, thanks for the help," she said awkwardly.
"Yea, whatever," Natsu answered like he wasn't paying attention. "Listen, fire guy! I gotta ask you something!"
"My name is Senko and I don't know anything about that man if that's what you want to know."
"No, not that," Natsu said with a small shake of his head.
"Hey listen," Lucy said, cutting into the conversation. "Instead of standing out here, why don't we go somewhere else to talk? There's a small cafe near here where we could get lunch. You can even consider it my treat for helping me out."
Senko put his hand over his now rumbling stomach.
"Lunch does sound good. Thank you for the offer."
"Did you say lunch! Alright, LET'S GO!"
"AYE!" a blue cat said as it jumped up with Natsu.
"Is that a talking blue cat?" Lucy and Senko asked.
"Yep, this is my best pal, Happy!" the pink haired boy answered. "But we can talk about that later, let's go eat!"
Senko was sitting next to Lucy in the booth they were seated at. He was looking at Natsu and Happy with absolute disgust while Lucy was trying to hide her embarrassment. The reason? Natsu and Happy were stuffing their faces and letting food fly everywhere.
"You know, you can slow down a bit, the food's not going anywhere," Lucy said awkwardly.
"If they choke it's their fault," Senko said in annoyance before dodging an incoming apple core. "Seriously you two, who the hell taught you table manners? Also, remember that Lucy is paying for this, the least you could do is be more considerate and not drain her wallet!"
Natsu and Happy stopped eating for a moment to swallow their food. They then let out big smiles which only annoyed Senko even more.
"Aww come on man, she was the one who offered," Natsu replied. "Anyway, weren't you hungry? Try a bite."
"Aye! The food here is really tasty!" Happy said cheerfully.
"I would if I wasn't so scared about losing a finger," the kitsune said sarcastically.
Just then, the waitress came up and placed a tray in front of Senko. The tray held an egg salad sandwich, cut orange slices, and a bottle of grape juice.
The young fox thanked her for the food and started eating, making sure his meal was as far away from Natsu and Happy as possible.
"So… Sanko was it?" Lucy asked.
Sanko nodded.
"From what I saw, you must be a wizard. Is that right?"
The beige collared canine swallowed his food before nodding.
"Yes, you could say that. Although where I'm from, we refer to ourselves as mages or magicians. Truth be told, it feels odd to be called something else."
"Really?" Lucy asked in surprise. "Are you from another country then?"
"No, I was born and raised right here in Fiore. It's just that everyone who used magic called themselves mages long before the term 'wizard' was ever used. As such, we didn't think it necessary to suddenly change it since it was basically the same thing. Although, there are some who call themselves shaman, but that's another story."
Lucy was amazed to hear this. She had never heard of any place in Fiore that called their wizards mages before. If what Senko said was true, then his hometown must be very old. It's even possible that it's been around since even before the kingdom even existed.
"Wow, a place where magic users don't call themselves wizards. I'd love to see it one day."
Senko just continued to eat, not saying anything.
"You know, I may not look it, but I'm actually a wizard too," Lucy said with a wink.
"Really?" Natsu asked, finally joining the conversation.
"Well, I haven't joined a guild yet, so I can't really call myself one."
"What do you mean?" Senko asked
"Oh, you don't know about that?" Lucy asked in response. "Here let me explain. As you know, wizards come together in magic guilds to learn, train, take jobs, and get the latest news. You actually aren't considered a full fledged wizard until you join a guild. Since I'm a free agent, I'm not considered a wizard yet, but I plan to join one soon."
"Is that really how things work?" the fox asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You bet it is and let me tell you, the more popular a guild is, the harder it is to get accepted," Lucy answered before she got stars in her eyes. "And the guild I wanna join is the most popular one of them all! They are featured in every issue of sorcerer weekly and they have some of the most amazing wizards ever! I'm gonna join the guild, go on adventures and make tons of cash!"
"Well… you're certainly ambitious," Senko said with a sweat drop.
"Sounds like you really wanna join," Happy said cheerfully.
"You bet! I'm gonna be a member no matter what it takes!"
"You should be careful with that statement," Senko said, pointing at Lucy. "There are people who'll take advantage of that."
"Eh, yea, you might be right," the blonde wizard said, a little down trodden.
"So, are you gonna tell us the guild you wanna join or are you gonna keep us waiting?" Natsu asked with food in his mouth, making the kitsune prince want to smack him.
"Oh sorry!" Lucy said in shock as a yellow exclamation mark appeared above her head. "The guild I wanna join is Fairy Tail!"
The other three went quiet, but for different reasons.
"Fairy Tail huh?" Natsu asked after swallowing his food, a grin appearing on his face. "Well if you wanna join the guild then-"
Natsu was cut off by the sound of snort. He, along with Happy and Lucy, turned to Senko, whose face was filled with disbelief.
"Please tell me you're joking." the kitsune said with an exasperated sigh. "Why on earth would you wanna join that guild? If I were you Lucy, I would reconsider. There are way better guilds out there."
Natsu clenched his fists while Happy frowned, two things Senko either didn't notice or didn't care.
"Why would you say that?" Lucy asked in surprise. "Fairy Tail has some of the most amazing wizards ever and they're known for being able to complete some of the hardest jobs any guild can get. They even get job offers from high ranking officials and the magic council."
"Lucy, I'm not saying they don't have great and powerful wizards. Heck, I've only been traveling for a short while and already I've heard stories about that lady they call 'Titania, Queen of the fairies'. The problem is their reputation," Senko explained.
"What do you mean?"
The kitsune crossed his arms as he looked down slightly.
"It's no secret that Fairy Tail causes a lot of trouble for people. The wizards there are all out of control and they don't seem to care about the consequences of their actions. They do whatever they want like they're above everything."
Natsu started to growl. It would've been clear how much he wanted to hurt Senko if the others were paying attention.
"Well… I can't deny they do tend to go overboard if what I've read is true," Lucy said sadly. "But they are still a respected guild and I'm sure most of those rumors are just made up. I mean, if Fairy Tail was really that bad, then the magic council would've stepped in."
"Not unless they were good enough at their job that any damage they did was worth it," the fox man said with a snort. "That's how it is with governments and the like. A guild becomes too indispensable and so they look the other way. To them, it doesn't matter if a few houses get destroyed, so long as the job is done."
"Don't you think you're being kind of harsh?"
Senko shrugged.
"Maybe a little, but that doesn't make it any less true. I know I sound like I hate them, but that isn't the case. I'm just frustrated with them and I honestly think that everyone should avoid that guild until it gets its act together."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Natsu asked with a snarl.
Senko, who assumed that the outburst was from Natsu being a fan, closed his eyes in deep thought.
"Natsu, isn't it true that Fairy Tail has a habit of blowing anything and everything up while out on missions?"
"Hahaha, yea, that's what makes Fairy Tail awesome!" Natsu said with a grin.
"It's what makes them irresponsible." the beige colored fox said with a shake of the head. "I'm all for going out with a bang, but there needs to be a limit. Do they even realize how many homes they destroy? What about businesses? It may not seem like much but it's expensive to rebuild and most people don't have that kind of money."
Natsu looked down for a moment, not sure how to answer.
"Hang on, doesn't the wizard council take care of that?" Lucy asked.
"Aye! I've heard that the wizard council has a special stash of jewel that's used for any and all collateral damage done by any wizard guild!" Happy cheered.
"And how long do you think it takes for the wizard council to take action?" the fox man asked. "Let's say there is such a stash. What makes you think they use it so readily? If they used it every time something gets destroyed, this country would be the poorest in the world."
"What do you mean?" Lucy asked.
"Lucy, do you really think the council is going to help every little charity case they come across? I can see them paying if say… a whole port or town is destroyed. After all, that's too big to ignore. But if only a few houses were damaged, they aren't gonna waste money on something they believe the people can settle it themselves."
The blond wizard gave a thoughtful look before nodding to herself in agreement. She understood where Senko was coming from and knew that people with a lot of money aren't usually eager to part with it.
"I can see your logic Senko, but I still think you're being too hard on Fairy Tail."
The kitsune just shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm just giving my opinion on the matter. If you still wanna join Fairy Tail, then go for it. I just think they should clean up their act a bit before they think about recruiting new members. You know, learn to control themselves more."
Lucy nodded before giving Senko a smile.
"Thanks for the advice, but I'm still gonna join the Fairy Tail guild no matter what."
Natsu and Happy grinned at the declaration. The girl had spirit and that's something they could appreciate.
"As I said, it's ultimately your decision. Just be sure to take care of yourself and try not to get caught up in anything too crazy," Senko said before taking out some jewel and leaving it on the table. "Thank you for the meal."
The anthropomorphic fox bowed his head before getting up. He gave the trio one last wave goodbye and headed out.
It had been a few hours since the prince of foxes had left his new friends. He was going to travel to the next town, but decided to stay in Hargeon after hearing some unpleasant rumors. The sun had already gone down and Senko wasn't any closer to finding out if those rumors were true.
"I'm starting to think I'm wasting my time. Even if I did find the guy who was supposedly kidnapping girls, I wouldn't be able to do much without knowing what I'm up against. It's also possible he might try to use the girls as hostages," the kitsune said out loud, frustrated by his search.
Just as Senko was about to call it quits for the night, he heard a loud explosion. He turned towards the sound in time to see a massive tidal wave headed for the beach. Upon seeing the danger, the fox prince made a beeline for the shore, hoping there wasn't anyone in the area.
Senko was able to make it before the tidal wave and was happy to see there weren't any innocents around. After catching his breath, the kitsune slammed his staff into the sand which created a barrier large enough to protect the town.
The tidal wave, which had grown, slammed straight into the wall of magic. Senko grit his teeth as the force from the storm of water nearly broke the barrier, forcing him to pour more magic into it.
"Damn, it's a good thing I specialize in barrier magic otherwise who knows what would have happened," the kitsune thought to himself as he watched the wave finally disperse.
After making sure it was safe, Senko dropped the barrier and immediately saw a familiar blue cat and a pair of legs sticking out of the sand. His eyes widened at the sight. Before he could go see what happened however, Lucy pulled herself out of the sand and was confronted by a mermaid with long blue hair.
"Looks like the kitsune aren't the only ones coming out of hiding. Why is she yelling at Lucy though?"
Curious, Senko ran over to check on the blond haired wizard and hopefully talk to the mermaid. Unfortunately, the aquatic woman vanished in a vortex of water just as he arrived on the scene.
"LUCY! HAPPY! ARE YOU TWO ALRIGHT!" the fox prince yelled, catching the duo's attention.
"Ah! Senko! What are you doing here?" Lucy asked in surprise.
"I came here because I heard a rumor about some kidnapped girls. Next thing I know a giant tidal wave was headed for the town so I used my barrier magic to stop it. That's when I saw you two and that mermaid who I wanted to talk to."
Lucy immediately paled. She knew Aquarius can be a bit much, but she didn't think the woman would create a wave big enough to consume a whole town. There was also the fact that this guy created a barrier strong enough to block the attack. There was no telling what Aquarius would do if she found out.
"I uh… I see. Well, we can worry about that later. Right now we need to get the authorities! That guy you mentioned is on his way right now!"
Senko's eyes widened before his face hardened.
"Alright, let's go!"
"Guys wait!" Happy called out as he flew over to the two with white angelic wing.
"You can fly?" Senko asked in surprise.
"Yea, it surprised me too," Lucy answered.
"Nevermind that! We need to make sure Natsu's ok!" the blue cat yelled.
The beige canine tilted his head as a blue question mark appeared above his head. That's when he realized Natsu really wasn't with them.
Senko was about to ask where Natsu was but before he could, the trio heard laughing coming from behind them. They turn their heads and see the dark blue haired man from earlier today.
"You certainly caused me quite a bit of trouble."
Lucy growled at the guy while Happy put his paws up like he was ready to fight. Senko however, narrowed his eyes, making his mask appear even more intimidating.
"Alright whoever you are, you have one chance to explain what's going on here and it better be the truth," the kitsune said as he released a bit of his magic power.
The man calling himself Salamander simply smirked.
"Well if you must know, I was just taking this lovely lady with me on a small trip. Sadly, she didn't appreciate my invitation."
"Don't even try it scumbag!" Lucy yelled. "You kidnapped me along with all those other girls! You even said that you'd make us your slaves!"
That was all Senko had to hear. Without a second thought, he let out a wave of fire at the blue haired man who jumped out of the way in time.
He was about to counter attack when everyone heard someone shouting.
"I finally found you!"
They turned just in time to see a familiar mop of pink hair rush pass them and slam straight into the blue haired wizard.
"You said you were a member of Fairy Tail, but I've never seen you before! There's no way Fairy Tail would ever accept someone like you!" Natsu yelled."
As the strange man got up, some of his henchmen came running to him.
"Hey Bora! Are you alright!" a bald man with an eyepatch asked.
"Don't call me that, moron!" the now named Bora scolded.
"I know him, that's Bora the providence. Rumor has it he was kicked out of the 'Titan Nose' wizard guild a couple of years ago for bad behavior," Happy explained.
"So this guy not only had the gall to kidnap girls in order to make them his slaves, but also impersonate another wizard and possibly disgraced said wizard's name. Just how low can this guy get?" Senko asked no one in particular.
"I feel like you might have your priorities mixed up," Lucy said with a sweat drop, a deadpan look covering her face.
"I know it sounds like it, but believe me I don't. It's one thing to get yourself in trouble but by using someone else's name, you end up doing more damage than even you realize."
"What do you mean?" Happy asked as he landed on the beige fox's shoulder.
"Think about it Happy, if word got out that Salamander was the one responsible for kidnapping girls, it would ruin his reputation and by proxy, his guild's as well."
Lucy and Happy let out a gasp of realization.
"Do you see what I mean now? Even if it was a lie, people would question Salamander's integrity and he would lose everyone's trust. What's worse is that Fairy Tail would be hit for housing a supposed criminal and would be left with no choice but to kick him out in order to save face."
Natsu, who heard this, let out a loud growl as he clenched his fists. In his mind, anyone who messed with the Fairy Tail guild was a dead man and he'd make sure Bora would never cast a spell again.
"IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GONNA GET AWAY WITH THIS THAN YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING!"
"Don't make me laugh! Prominence Typhoon!" Bora called out before sending a vortex of rose-colored flames at Natsu.
The pink haired wizard just stood there in surprise while the fire hit him dead center.
"NATSU!" Lucy and Senko yelled simultaneously.
They were about to go help Natsu but were stopped by Happy.
"Heh, just as expected," Bora said with a cocky smirk. "The bigger the talk the weaker the man."
Just as he was about to turn his back on his downed opponent, Bora and the others heard Natsu's voice coming from the flames.
"Oh man, are you really a fire wizard? These are the nastiest flames I've ever tasted!"
"Fire magic has no effect on Natsu," the blue cat said with a creepy grin.
Everyone looked towards the fire and saw Natsu eating it. Bora, his henchmen, Lucy, and even Senko were in complete shock. Happy, meanwhile, let out a smirk.
"Boss, look! That mark on his arm! I think he's the real deal!" the bald henchman said in a terrified voice.
Everyone looked at Natsu's arm and immediately saw the mark for Fairy Tail.
"So Natsu's a Fairy Tail wizard?!" Lucy yelled in disbelief.
"Dang, now I know why Natsu was so upset before," Senko said as he looked down in shame, his ears folded back and his tail drooping. "I was talking trash about his guild and I didn't even realize it."
"Alright poser, time for you to get a taste of some real fire power!" Natsu said with a grin as his fists were engulfed in flames. "Fire Dragon Roar!"
The pink haired wizard let out a mighty roar as a giant stream of fire shot from his mouth. The fire blasted Bora and his henchmen flying back with Bora righting himself.
The blue haired man shot his rose-colored fire from his feet, allowing him to fly. He growled before calling out another spell and shooting multiple fire bullets at Natsu.
Natsu just dodged the attack as he ran forward. He was instantly in front of Bora with his next attack at the ready.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" the pink haired man screamed as he punched Bora in the face and sent him flying back.
"No way, how is he doing this?" Lucy asked in complete shock.
"Dragon scales for defending against fire, dragon lungs for breathing fire, and dragon claws for fighting with fire. It's part of an ancient magic that gives the user all the properties of a dragon. Originally, it was used to deal with dragons. It's called 'Dragon Slayer Magic' and it's one of the strongest kinds of magic there is," Happy explained.
"So that's it then, that's how Natsu got his name," Senko exclaimed.
"Salamander!" Lucy yelled in realization.
Meanwhile, Bora created a giant ball of fire before throwing it at Natsu. The pink haired wizard caught the massive fireball and slurped it up. He then let loose a massive amount of magic that caused a pillar of fire to sound him.
"Alright! It's about time I cook you like a smoked fish!" Natsu said with an evil grin.
"You're gonna do what to me?" Bora screamed in terror as he cried anime tears.
"Come on Natsu. You don't cook smoked fish with fire, you cook it with smoke," Happy said with a wave of his paw.
Lucy and Senko ignored the blue furred feline in favor of watching Natsu. Lucy was in complete awe while Senko analyzed the young man. He was aware of dragon slayer magic thanks to his time studying the scrolls in the family library. However, being able to see a real dragon slayer upclose would benefit him and his kingdom in the future.
With one final dragon iron fist to the face, Natsu sent Bora crashing into the town's bell tower, knocking him out.
"Safe to say he isn't getting back up," Senko said just as Natsu landed next to them.
"That was amazing," Lucy said in wonder before looking at the destroyed buildings surrounding them. "But he overdid it!"
"Aye!" Happy cheered.
"Which proves my point from earlier," Senko said with a sigh just as Natsu landed next to him.
"Hold it right there!" a new voice called out.
The group's celebration was cut short when they saw the rune knights, the army of Fiore, running towards them.
"The army!" Lucy yelled, worried about how much trouble they might be in.
"Don't panic," Senko said calmly. "Let's just turn ourselves in and explain the situation to them. If we cooperate, I'm sure they'll hear us- ack!"
"Forget that! We need to get out of here!" Natsu yelled as he grabbed both Lucy and Senko, running away with Happy flying close behind.
"Hang on, where are you taking us?!" Lucy asked in panic.
"You wanted to join Fairy Tail, right?" Natsu answered.
The two captives looked up to see the pink haired wizard's smiling face.
"So let's go!"
Lucy let out a big smile.
"ALRIGHT!"
"Hang on, I never said anything about joining Fairy Tail! Hey! HEY!
