Author's Notes: Alright now we get to hear about the infamous war that's been hinted at since the beginning of this story. I must admit it took me sometime to figure out how to incorporate this episode with the lure of this fanfic. But I am confident that I can at least fill in some of the subtle hints that have been dropped so far. Any plot holes can be ironed out later.
With all that said thanks for reading and please review!
(Back with Bill…)
It was another bright and sunny day in Gravity Falls, though the sun did nothing to warm the crisp air. Summer had finally surrendered to the autumn weather and today promised to be a busy day.
Several students had gathered onto the football field after the final bell for some sort of surprise. No one knew what the surprise was, okay that was a lie; Dipper knew exactly what Bill was up to. After weeks of everyone giving Bill the cold shoulder and treating him like a freak, he had decided to take action. With the help of Dipper and surprisingly Ford the three had created a script for the retelling of one of Nightmare Realm's greatest battles.
"The Great Demon War!" Ford had said when Bill brought it up. "Why would you want to reenact that?"
"We want to show them not all demons are bad." Dipper explained. "Mina has everyone thinking Bill is this monster. If they knew that demons actually helped our world maybe some of the kids will give Bill a break."
"Educating the public about the facts is an honorable and noble quest." Ford said. "I'll help anyway you'd like, but you must understand. There are some people who will never change their opinion of others, even if the facts are right in front of them."
"We don't care." Dipper said. "They can choose to believe what they want. At least this way they get both sides of the story and not just Mina's prejudice opinion."
"Then I'll draft up the events the best I can." Ford told them. "Of course, we'll have to take out somethings. Wouldn't want to scare them even more by making it seem demons are unstoppable fiends."
"But Seth was unstoppable." Bill said. "In fact, I still don't know how dad managed to stop him."
"Well..." Ford said. "Let me tell you…He used a dark spell, on of the darkest ever written. The Power of Hate Spell, it is said that it can break the one who can't be broken." he explained. "Your father used this spell on Seth and his army;ended his reign of terror forever."
After hearing that Bill was even more fired up to share his little skit. He called it 'Doompendence Day' and Mabel drew a really awesome flyer that they hung on the school bulletin board. It took a week to get everything ready. Which was fitting since the anniversary to the Great Demon War had taken place just a month ago during late September.
"So, any of you have any idea what this is about?" Billcipherfan15 had asked. Only she wasn't really Bill's fan anymore, Bill didn't have many of those lately. She and several of her school mates were sitting in the bleachers.
"No." Pacifica snapped. "But the stupid flyer promised free food and soda." She said. "Mabel maybe unpopular but her food is totes delish."
Of course, her cheerleading friends muttered their agreement.
"What's with the weird old man?" Sabrina asked.
"That's Sanford Pines." Mina told her watching her old teacher with great admiration. "He's the one that taught me everything I know about monsters."
"So why is he with that creep Bill?" Pacifica asked.
"I don't know." Mina admitted. "Maybe he thinks he can teach him humanity."
"Can he?" Billcipherfan15 asked.
"Demons can't be swayed from their true nature." Mina hissed. "They can try, even appear normal like me and you." She revealed. "But in the end the true monster within always comes out."
Meanwhile, Robbie is busy trying to get his big troll body into his even bigger armor.
"Are you sure this is the right size?" Robbie asked Bill, "It feels too big."
"Troll armor is supposed to do that." Dipper explained. "Trolls need extra room for when their muscles expand."
"What?" Robbie asked.
"Yeah, trolls look big and fat, but they beef up in a battle." Bill told him. "Didn't you notice when you helped us fight off Tad?" He asked.
"Nah, guess I was a little caught up in the action." Robbie admitted.
"We'll I've noticed." Tambry said as she helped him out.
"What kind of armor am I wearing exactly?" Wendy asked. Her armor was quiet feminine and was dawned with a snowflake eclipsing the sun.
"You are an Arctic Maiden." Mabel explained. "Bill's mother, Luisa created them to be the strongest warriors to ever live." She explained. "With the use of three spells she created an unstoppable army."
"Pretty cool dude." Wendy said. "What happened to all of them?"
"Well, they were originally volunteers." Bill explained. "Some peasants from other realms, even some were humans."
"Did they all die in the war?" Candy asked. She too was dressed as an Arctic Maiden, along with Grenda, Jenna, and Mabel.
"No, many did, but those who survived eventually turned back to their original selves. The magic my mother used to make them was very dark. It made them ruthless and feel no fear or empathy. This made them a match for Seth's demon hordes, but long-term exposure to this magic made them become twisted and evil. Of Course, there was a way to make it last forever, but man the things you'd have to do." Bill shook his head. "Disgusting."
"So, the girls get to be awesome warriors." Robbie said. "Who are you exactly?"
"I'm my Dad." Bill exclaimed. "And Mabel is my mom leading her army of maiden warriors."
"And Dipper?" Robbie asked?
"I'm my great uncle Ford." Dipper explained.
"And Me?" Oscar asked.
"Oh, you're Fiddleford McGucket." Mabel told him. "Ford's oldest and dearest friend."
"What happened to him?" Oscar asked.
"He died!" Dipper told him. "Didn't you read the script?"
"What script?" Oscar asked.
Dipper is about to face palm when they are interrupted.
"Hey kid!" Stan comes running over. "How come I'm not in this play?"
"It's a skit." Bill corrected him. "And I had to cut you out cause no one wanted to play the creepy old guy."
"How could no one want to play me?" Stan asked. "I had the most important roll of the whole war!"
"Great Uncle Stan, you played Mayor while hiding in the bunker with the rest of the towns folk." Dipper reminded him.
"I kept order and watched over everyone while a war raged on for ages." Stan argued.
"It was a week, tops." Bill corrected him.
"I did a service for this town!" Stan grumbled, stomping away. "I deserve to be remembered for it."
"Why doesn't anyone remember?" Candy asked. "If this war happened here in Gravity Falls 14 years ago why doesn't anyone know about it?"
"Well, thanks to the barrier Ford made, Seth and his demons couldn't leave the town." Dipper explained. "So, the outside world was never effected by the war. As for here, once it was all over the recently elected Mayor Tylor enacted the 'Never Mind All That'. A bill that basically states that no one is to ever mention the war. Don't talk about it, don't tell about it." Dipper explained. "And no one did, because people will rather ignore the existence of monsters if it means they can continue living their carefree lives."
"So, this play is like illegal." Jenna said.
"No punishing someone for mentioning it, is admitting it's real." Dipper reasoned. "Gravity Falls is a big tourist attraction. Plus, many people who grew up elsewhere chose to live here, Like Principal Wong. If people believed half the stuff that happened here, no one would ever come back much less stay."
An All-Seeing Eye floats by.
"And the eye?" Wendy asked.
"Oh, it's here to watch over us." Bill assured her. "Father found out about Tad's antics thanks to someone." He winked at Dipper.
"Way to kill the joy man." Jenna booed.
Dipper just shrugs it off, honestly, he's glad the eye is here. It was like he finally had some real help in protecting Bill.
"Alright, everyone we're starting soon." Mabel said. "Get in your places."
"Wait, who is playing the demons?" Grenda asked.
"Bill's friends from home are going to come through a portal all dramatic like." Mabel said.
"Oh nice." Wendy praised. "You know we should all get together and do something now that they're out of prison."
"It was reform school." Dipper corrected her.
"Says the one that nearly got the youth drained out of him." Mabel reminded him.
"Okay creepy headmaster aside, Bill's friends are insane, and we should not intermingle. Trust me it would be-"
"Spontaneously chaotic." Jenna said.
"Exactly." Dipper agreed.
"Dip that's what makes it fun." Wendy told him giving him a playful punch.
Dipper smiled full heartedly, they still weren't dating, not officially; but the two of them were finally getting somewhere.
Mabel just wished they'd get their faster.
Meanwhile, Ford had walked up on the field, microphone in hand.
"Can I have your attention, everyone? May I please have your attention?" he asked, waiting for everyone to quiet down. "Thank you. Now, I know that you're all wondering why we have gathered here today."
More than a few people in the audience murmured in agreement.
"Well after the events that happened a few weeks ago." Ford cleared his throat. "I am sure it has come to your attention that Bill is no ordinary teen. I know some of you think he is a monster, and others just believe it was a prank." He cleared his throat once more looking to Principal Wong.
Principal Wong just scowled at him, she had a troll, an actual troll for a student and she still refused to believe in any of this.
"But regardless of what you choose to believe in honor of his heritage, Bill has decided to share a piece of his family history with you. A History in which we all played a part in." Ford revealed. "All of you were probably too young to remember but a war raged right here in Gravity Falls, on this very field." He revealed. "True it wasn't a football field back then, heck this whole school wasn't even here. It was just an open field. A lot of history happened here…" Ford paused, his eyes falling on Mina.
"This history is not meant to make you fear monsters. The word Monster isn't even a species, it's a hateful word used to describe a person that you don't see as human."
Mina looked away from Ford, she knew those words were meant for her. Ford had taught her to treat everyone equally regardless of who or what they were.
"Now regardless, if you believe any of this really happened, there is still a lesson here that even Mrs. Wong agrees is important." Ford said, pausing to look at Principal Wong once more.
She nods, giving him the okay.
"A person should not be judge by his appearance, or his family actions, but of his own." Ford said. "Now please enjoy our little skit which will cover a brief portion of what is known by Bill's kingdom as the Great Demon War. If you have any questions, we will gladly answer them at the end of our show."
Ford hands the microphone over to Mabel who begins to narrate: "More than a thousand years ago." She said, "Was the creation of the Multiverse. No one knows who created it, or why, but in this vast cosmic soup of realities there lived many unique Realms. Still, none were more different than that of Earth and the Nightmare Realm."
The crowd of students were so quiet, that Dipper could have sworn he would here a feather as it landed gracefully on the ground.
"The Nightmare Realm was full of Magical creatures and demons of all shapes and sizes. While Earth was filled with ordinary humans. Back then the Nightmare Realm was as dark and evil as it sounds, demons believed they were the highest of all magical creatures and all were inferior to them. But no demon was as evil or more maniacal as their King, Seth Cipher the destroyer of worlds. Many Realms fell to his power, and many creatures fought to escape his rule. Then one day, the Magic High Commission brought all the creatures of all the broken Realms under one banner and together they escaped Seth's rule."
Dipper step forward and took the microphone from his sister. "Here hidden in the woods of Gravity Falls all the creatures Seth deemed weak and unfitting found peace. But the gnomes, Multibears, elves, unicorns, and other magical creatures long to return to their own realms. But Seth and his horde of demons were too powerful. No one was strong enough or daring enough to stop him." Dipper paused. "Until one day an unlikely ally emerged, a demon by the name of Hannibal Cipher!"
Gasps filled the bleachers as the audience reacted to the tale.
"Though no one trusted him, the Magic High Commission agreed to an uneasy alliance to the demon prince. As Seth's eldest son he was the only one with any hope of having enough power to stop the evil demon king." Dipper continued. "Discovering his son's betrayal Seth set his sights on Earth Realm. He would remind his son who was king and conquer another world while doing it!"
"A war like no one ever saw before had begun." Bill said. "14 years ago, the two armies collided on this very field, and this is how it happened."
"Come my warriors!" Mabel shouted as her warriors surrounded her. "I Luisa Cipher shall plow through the hordes of demons and deliver our one true King to victory!"
The girls scream their battle cries.
Meanwhile, Tad with the aid of the All-Seeing Eye watches their performance.
"That stupid brat, it's like he's rubbing his father's victory in my face." Tad growls. "It's bad enough that my brother has made me a mockery." Tad continued to complain. "But now that royal brat has to go and reenact the very war that made his father great in the first place."
"I know how you feel, sire," Toffee calmly said. "I have no love for the outcome of the war myself, or what our 'king.' stands for." For the briefest moment, Toffee clenches his fist, allowing the rage of the past to consume him for a moment. But as quickly as it came, the feeling vanished. "However, need I remind you of the golden opportunity that this presents?"
"Of course not, I know an opportunity when I see one." Tad says.
"Master this plan sounds a bit too risky to me." Buff Frog says.
"There can be no reward, without any risk." Toffee tries to assure the frog beast. "Besides, you are the one I have chosen to complete the task." He revealed.
"Me?" Buff Frog asked.
"Him?" Tad was also surprised.
"Why me?" Buff frog asked.
"You're the best fit for the job." Toffee answered.
"No really." Buff Frog growled.
Toffee sighs. "Excuse us sire." He says and pulls Buff Frog away. "Look it's obvious the master is not pleased with you." He said. "And I know you see me as the enemy, but I am trying to do the job I was given. We all have a job, a place here and if you want to keep yours you need to get back in the boss' good graces."
"And you would help me?" Buff Frog asked.
"We are all on the same side, why fight? This is your chance to prove to the master that he chose the right man to be his right hand." Toffee told him.
"And what do you get?" Buff frog said. "If you do not want to be right hand man, then what do you want?"
"I want that brat and his parents to be ancient history, I want the rightful king to rise back into power, and I want my master's legacy to thrive." Toffee ensured. "The same as you."
Buff frog looked thoughtful, he may not like the lizard, but Toffee was right. Maybe they could bury the hatchet, and by doing so, maybe they will actually win. He nods. "I will play a part in your scheme for Master Tad."
"Good Monster." Toffee praised. He then addresses all the monsters in the room. "My fellow monsters if you direct your attention to the monitors, you will see what is transpiring on Earth," he gestured to the giant screens, which were currently playing footage of the day's events. "Our favorite Prince is re-enacting our favorite holiday: the Great Demon War." Toffee didn't even bother hiding the sarcasm in his voice.
All of the Monsters groaned and said things to the effect of "this sucks!" and "I hate that day!" or "This is the worst day ever. Of all time!"
Toffee raised his hand to silence the Monsters. "Do not worry. We can take advantage of the golden opportunity that lies before us."
"Um, sir?" Bear Deer spoke up. "What exactly is the plan?"
"Disguised as a one of Bill's friends Buff Frog will sneak his way through the reenactment and snatch up Bill's power…with this." He pulls out a Mace. With a push of a button the Mace opens, and Toffee begins to speak again. "This device will suck the magic right out of Bill's cane. All Buff Frog has to do is get within range, push this button, and point it at the cane. The device does the rest." He assured.
"Well, I suppose not even you can mess that up." Tad retorted.
Buff frog bows. "I will not fail you master; I will deliver what is rightfully yours." He turns to Toffee then, who gives him the mace.
"Remember, just push the button." Toffee repeated. "And the kingdom is ours."
Buff Frog nodded taking the mace. "For our master." He declares as Bear Deer opens a portal for him.
The monsters cheer or but Toffee who smiles wickedly. "Yes…" He whispered. "For my Master."
Back on the football field a portal opens, and Bill's demon friends step out.
Paci-fire roars dramatically. "I Seth, rightful ruler of all the Multiverse will slay all those who stand before me." He is dressed in battle armor and makes a pretty convincing demon King.
The crowd of students applauded his entrance all but Mina who is stunned that her teacher would allow such heathens as Bill's friends into their world so thoughtlessly.
Ford gives her a stern look, he has left the field and is standing by the bleachers.
Mina approaches him. "I can't believe you would let them use portals so irresponsibly. And demons no less, they should stay where they belong."
"Mina, I don't know what has gotten into you, but their just children, just like you." Ford said.
"What's gotten into me?" Mina hissed. "I don't know what you mean."
"You used to love magical creatures." Ford revealed. "Pixies used to be your only family, what happened to the girl who use to make pie and have tea parties in the woods with all her magical friends."
"The girl you saw that day in the woods is gone." Mina whispered harshly.
"But why?" Ford said. "Why did you suddenly start acting this way? The girl I knew spoke for the rights of Magical creatures. You used to say we should let them roam free, let them co-exist with us; instead of forcing them to hide in the woods. What happened to the Mina I know?" Tears actually threatened to spill from Ford's eyes.
You really want to know?" Mina hissed. "I found out the truth."
Ford's features turned dark. "What truth?"
"The truth about what really caused the war." Mina spoke gravely. "You lied to Bill; their stupid story implies Seth wanted Earth just to teach his son a lesson. But we both know why he really came 14 years ago."
"I don't know what you're implying." Ford began, but Mina stops him.
"You can't lie to me, I read it in your journal." Mina snapped.
"You…you read my Journals." Ford looks desperate now. "How much did you read?"
"Enough to know the truth." Mina says. "The War didn't happen because Seth wanted to punish his son. The war happened because our kind and theirs did something they weren't supposed to do. If we had stayed where each of us belonged, that war would have never happened. And my real family, my Parents…They would still be alive!"
"Mina, your parents fought because they believe in the lesson, I'm trying to teach you right now." Ford whispered.
"Lier!" Mina screamed. "If that were true you would tell them the truth!"
"You will not breathe a word of this to anyone." Ford whispered.
Mina laughed. "Of course not, what would I have to gain from revealing your families' dirty little secrets!"
"Then what do you want Mina?" Ford begged.
"I want them gone, every time I see one, I am reminded of what their being here has cost me!" Mina revealed before stomping away.
Stan walks up to his brother, looking worried. "Something wrong?"
"I know why Mina left, why she's giving Bill such a hard time." Ford revealed.
"Why?" Stan asked.
"She knows." Ford revealed.
"Everything?" Stan asked.
"Enough to paint a pretty good picture in her mind." Ford revealed.
"This is bad Sandford, If Hannibal finds out." Stan began.
"He won't, but I think we should tell Bill." Ford said.
"Are you nuts, what part of we can never tell a soul do you not understand?" Stan hissed. "We shook on it, a binding contract with a demon to never utter a word."
"Not that." Ford said. "I'm talking about Mina's Parents." Ford said.
"Oh…" Stan sighed. "Ford…It's not the kid's fault."
"No, it's not, but Mina sees it that way." Ford said as they took a seat at the bottom of the bleachers. And that's all that matters."
Stan nodded; he knew his brother was right. Bill had a right to know why Mina hated him so much. Still, "I told you taking him in was a bad idea." He said.
"Stan, we had to." Ford argued.
"Why? This isn't our mess to clean up." Stan whispered. "We have no obligations to him are his kingdom. It's not our responsibility."
"Isn't it?" Ford asked, but Stan refused to continue the argument and after a moment of silence they turned their attention back to the performance.
"We shall crush you humans!" Kelly yelled.
"Knights of the Realms…" Bill, who is playing as his father yelled. "Charge!"
"Arctic Maidens Attack." Mabel ordered.
Both teams charge each other, with the results that anyone would expect.
Even though Bill told his demon friends not to be too wild they had overpowered most of their human friends with ease.
"I told you we should have included them in rehearsal." Dipper said, but he still stays in character as he throws some spells.
Robbie is faring better than the others, but only because he's not human.
"Traitorous scum!" Paci-fire yells. "Protecting filth and going against your own. Have you no honor?" He picks up Robbie and throws him.
Luckily, while he's thrown out of sight into some very thorny bushes; Robbie is unscratched.
"Guess being a monster has it's perks." He joked, he's about jump back in when Buff Frog tackles him and knocks him out before stealing his armor.
Meanwhile the monsters with Tad watch him from the control room.
"He's in." Tad says sounding impressed. "They don't even notice the switch."
Toffee watches from his chair, just as cold and as calculating as always.
At the field, the battle rages on.
Kelly and Mabel are crossing swords.
"Give it up! You will never be strong enough to lead, our race is for the heartless! A weak emotional dame like yourself is not fit to be called a demon!"
"Demon." Mabel spats. "I don't even know what that word means anymore. We used to be great, he has blinded us with his thirst for power."
"Ah stop you…beast." Oscar stumbles through his lines, but thankfully he sounds more like he's afraid of the monster before him.
Keyhole laughs. "Yeah, you're dead." He says and pretends to 'Kill' Oscar.
"Fiddleford!" Dipper runs to him!
Oskar falls dramatically, uttering Fiddleford's last words grabbing at Dipper's shirt "Tell my light, I love her." He whispers and dies.
The crowd gasps again and some are even crying!
Meanwhile Buff Frog gets closer to Bill while Tad's Army watches him with interest.
"You monsters!" Dipper yelled. "Is there no end to your depravity?"
"You!" Paci-fire yells. "You are the one who made my son weak! I will kill you and show him the error of his ways once and for all!" Paci-fire charges at Dipper as Buff Frog takes out the mace. Now that he is in range, he points it and presses the button, but it doesn't work.
Buff Frog is stunned. "Wha?" He asked
"Whaaa" Tad echo's his shocked voice with his own.
Buff Frog panics as he keeps pressing the button without any success.
"Come on, Come on, Come on!" an irritated Tad yells.
Bill notices Buff Frog and scoots over to him. "Robbie you're supposed to be helping Dipper in leading the charge."
Buff Frog, now very horrified, realizes he has to make a move. Bill has not noticed it's him, but surely he will see through his disguise soon. So, without thinking he reaches to just take Bill's cane instead.
"What is he doing?" Tad yelled. "He's blowing it!"
Buff Frog was just about to get his hand on the cane, but Bill suddenly notices. "Robbie?"
Suddenly, Teeth comes out of nowhere and attacks Buff Frog, making him soar through the air. He lands beside Ford and Stan.
"Robbie, Kid, you okay?" Stan asked. The kid appears to be out cold.
The Real Robbie comes out from behind the bleachers. "Yeah, I'm fine, but someone stole my armor."
Ford eyes widen in horror as he and Stan look back down at who they thought was Robbie!
Buff Frog wakes, mace still in hand, and as he moves to get up the helmet of his armor slips off revealing his face.
Ford moves to act, a powerful spell seconds from leaving his lips when Buff Frog…runs away? Surprised, Ford lets him go.
"What was that?" Robbie asked.
"Tad's right-hand man." Ford said, looking around. No one has noticed, the crowd is still captivated by the performance and the actors have long forgotten Robbie and his weird behavior.
The final moment is at hand, Bill as Hannibal has stepped in between Dipper and Paci-fire. "Father this must stop! Your madness with destroy everything until there is nothing left."
"You are a mistake." Paci-fire hissed; he has fully embraced the roll as Seth. "That I shall erase!"
"Don't make me do this." Bill pleaded. "We can end this right now, all you have to do is walk away."
"Your time with these humans has made you soft Hannibal. Fight me like a real demon." Paci-fire growled.
"So be it!" and with one final spell, he evaporated Seth to oblivion. Okay not really, it was a fake spell and Paci-fire just ran off while everyone was blinded by the light of the phony spell, but it sure looked convincing!
"Hannibal you did it!" Dipper exclaimed. "We won!"
"Let it be forever known!" Wendy declared. "No matter the race, weather he be man, troll, or demon all that matters is today is we stood as one!"
The crowd cheered as the teens, human and demons alike bowed.
"Man, we killed it." Wendy exclaimed.
"Yeah, but I think Oscar is really dead." Jenna said.
"He's not dead." Dipper whispered as Oscar's snoring can be heard. "He fell asleep again!"
Mabel giggled.
"You guys were pretty awesome." Kelly admitted.
"They were good." Paci-fire said. "But I was the real star."
Bill smiled, everyone was cheering for them; he had done it! All his classmates loved him again. Or at least they don't think he was a total freak. Everyone was cheering, even Principal Wong looked impressed, everyone was happy…everyone but Mina.
She stared at Oskar, tears raining down her face.
Ford walks up to Bill as his classmates walk onto the field and start to congratulate the others.
"Why does she hate me so much?" Bill asked.
Ford sighed. "I should have told you sooner." He said. "All of you."
"Told us what?" Mabel and Dipper asked as they turned their attention to him.
"Mina doesn't hate you, Bill." Ford revealed. "It's your parents, well your mother mostly."
"My mother?" Bill is confused. "My mother would never hurt anyone."
"Yeah, everyone loves her." Mabel said.
"Mina's mother was the first Arctic Maiden; she and her fiancé gave their lives for your families' war." Ford revealed. "Mina blames your mother for filling them with false hope. She thinks your mother miss led Mina's mother to think her spells would make her unstoppable."
Bill is stunned. "My mother never told me, she never spoke…"
Mina's mother, Ellen knew the risk, she knew this was war and that she could die, but she had a family, and a home to fight for." Ford said. "We all did, as for your mother, she was devastated by the way her warriors died, none of their deaths were…pleasant. She never picked up another sword again."
Understanding, suddenly filled Mabel. That's why Luisa had been hunting with a spear instead of a sword when they saw her in the Forest of Certain Death. She had lost her soldiers in such a brutal way that she blamed herself, like the blood was on her own hands. Was she out there trying to reconnect with her inner warrior? Was she trying to pick up the peices?
"Ellen was greatly wounded during the war and despite the efforts of several healers she died three days after their victory." Ford continued.
"What about Mina's father?" Dipper asked.
Ford looked to Oscar as he spoke. "He died, defending Bill's mother."
"Fiddleford McGucket was Mina's father?!" Mabel exclaimed.
Ford nodded. "Fiddleford was a family friend, but he was actually much younger than me."
"But Mina's last name." Dipper began.
"Ellen and Fiddleford where due to marry in the coming spring. Fiddleford had promised Mina's parents he would be taking their last name. So, Mina was born, A Loveberry not a McGucket." Ford explained.
"Way to bury the lead Sixer!" Bill yelled. "I wanted this to help change her mind, instead I reenact the death of her parents in front of her!"
"I wanted her to see what her parents really died for." Ford argued. "I thought she would finally see, but I was wrong."
"Wait how old was Mina during the war?" Mabel asked. "She couldn't have been more than a few months old."
"Almost a year." Stan revealed.
"Then how does she know any of this?" Dipper asked.
"She read my journals." Ford amswer. "Afact she just revealed to me."
"I feel awful." Bill admitted.
"Well, you got worse problems kid." Stan said.
"What do you mean?" Bill asked.
Stan and Ford shared a look.
"Ford what's going on?" Dipper demanded.
"The troll that reached for Bill's cane wasn't Robbie." Ford said. "It was Buff Frog."
Bill was floored, Tad was at it again; even with the All-Seeing Eye he was still plotting against him. Only this time he was bold enough to attack with Stan and Ford still around! As much as he hated it, Stan was right, Mina was the least of his problems.
(Back at Tad's Castle…)
All the monsters are watching the footage of Buff Frog failing over and over again.
"What a disgrace! This is what you get when you hire people from the swamp!" Tad yelled.
"I'm telling you! This thing! It didn't work!" Buff Frog pointed to the mace in his hand.
Toffee takes the mace and with a press of a button it works. "It works fine for me..."
Buff Frog narrows his eyes and points at him accusingly. "He sabotaged it!"
Tad doesn't even listen. "I rescued you from a life in the swamp, I took you in."
"Master, please, he is the one who is trying to destroy us!" Buff Frog pleads.
"You have brought shame on this house, and I have tolerated your uselessness long enough."
"Master?" Buff Frog looks fearful.
"You are no servant of mine, Toffee, get this trash out of my castle." Tad orders.
"Gladly." Toffee picks Buff Frog up with ease and after walking down the halls he tosses him out the door.
"No! Wait!" Buff Frog yells. "Why?"
"Why?" Toffee laughs as if it's the stupidest question, and it is. "Are you kidding?"
"You said we want the same thing." Buff Frog rasped. "We want our master to be king, we want his legacy to thrive." Buff Frog looked hopeless. He had trusted Toffee, he knew he was after his job the whole time, but he chose to trust him, because he thought…he thought he saw truth in Toffee's eyes when he told him these things. "Was it all a lie?" He asked.
"No…" Toffee said as he turns to walk away.
"Then why? If we want the same thing for our master, why risk it by sabotaging me?" Buff Frog asked.
"Because…" Toffee said. "You failed to realize the obvious, you and I do not serve the same master!"
And with that revelation Toffee laughed as the doors closed behind him, leaving Tad at his mercy with no Buff frog to protect him.
"Oh, master Tad." Buff Frog said. "What have you done?"
