Author's Notes: And the last chapter of Season one is here!, man I'm bushed, I had to rewrite this one too! IDK why but rewriting chapters are the worse! I can never make them sound as good as the original one, but regardless, here we are with the season finale!
Now as I've explained before this fanfic will cover all of Star Vs The Forces of Evil, thankfully I was able to recover the files for Season 2 planning so we're not starting completely from scratch. I'll need about a month to finish preparing so expect a new chapter to post in late February/early March.
With all that said thanks for reading and please Enjoy!
(Back with Ford…)
He had never seen Hannibal so pale before, then again with the news he had just shared he couldn't blame him.
"And you're sure it was A Septarian?" Hannibal asked still somewhat disbelieving, even though both Stans had told him a thousand times.
"Yes, we saw him with our own eyes." Ford spoke gravely. "What did Bill call him?" He asked Stan.
Stan was just reentering Ford's study, having just put Dipper to bed. After their pursuit of the enemy had turned up empty. He and Ford had returned to check up on Dipper. To his credit, Dipper seemed to be taking everything in great strives. Still, Ford could see the panic hidden just beneath the surface. Not that he or Stan blamed him either, in fact they too were panicking. So much so that they refused to let Dipper leave their sight.
He sat down in the study with them until finally exhaustion overtook him. Only then did Stan allow him to leave. Of course, he took it upon himself to escort the teen to his room, tucking him in before he left. "Toffee." Stan answered. "Do you know him?" He asked Hannibal.
Hannibal gets noticeably paler if that was even possible. "No, I never met any of Seth's army." He said gravely.
"Well, that's just great!" Stan yelled. "We know squat about this guy, but he seems to know everything about us."
"What do you mean?" Luisa asked.
"He knew where we lived, and when we were most vulnerable." Ford explained. "Not only that but he was within arm's reach of Bill's magic and he didn't even want it!"
"Then why was he there." Hannibal dared to ask.
Stan saw red. "Why was he there? Why do you think?"
"Stan!" Ford warned.
"No, I will not hold my tongue." Stan screamed. "He was this close!" He growled, holding up two fingers that were nearly touching. "This close! He almost touched Dipper! He was more interested in our great nephew than the magic that rightfully belongs to his master. We know nothing about him, but he knows exactly who we are! And worse who Dipper is!"
"That's impossible." Hannibal argued.
"Is it!" Stan yelled. "I also remember you telling us it was Impossible that any of them survived your 'special spell!'" He mocked.
"It wasn't my spell!" Hannibal screamed. "It was hers…" He whispered the pronoun as if it was forbidden. He looks to his gloved hands horror stricken. "I got them all, I hunted down every last one of them."
Ford didn't need to see his hands to know why terror had gripped his face. The demon King was never seen without a long sleeve shirt and gloves, and for good reason.
"I didn't miss any of them." He swore, his voice actually wavering.
Ford's face softens, he has never seen him so fearful, so desperate, not since that day.
Stan, however, is less sympathetic. "Well, you missed this one!"
"Stanley!" Ford yelled.
"No, He promised us they were safe! He swore, and he sealed that promise with a binding contract! We've lost too much family to Seth and his parasites! I won't lose them…" His voice choked up. "They're all we have left of…" he turns away, unable to finish.
"Stanley, I promise, we will make this right." Luisa vowed.
"Yes, it's just one after all." Hannibal agreed, "And no doubt he's the reason Tad has been so close to his own goals as of late. Once we get rid of this…Toffee everything will go back to normal."
"It better!" Stan growled.
"Where are the children now?" Luisa asked.
"Upstairs." Ford answered, not knowing just how wrong he really was. "I put an enchantment around the shack. No one can enter unless invited in."
"What about portals?" Hannibal asked.
"Only those who live here can open portals into this shack." Ford assured him. "They're safe for now."
(Back with Dipper…)
"Guys, maybe we should turn back." Dipper suggested as he looked over his shoulder for the 1,000 time. Of course, there was nothing there, still he could feel it…he could feel Toffee's eyes on him, sense his presents all around him.
The three were on anther adventure, even though they knew it was a bad idea. Why?
Because what happened yesterday was really creeping them out, and Bill felt like it was all his fault. He had to make it up to them, and he knew just the thing. They enter a cave with a mound covered in tubes.
"Where are we?" Mabel asked.
"This is the Sandwich Cave." Bill said as he climbed up the mound and started fishing around in the tubes.
"You brought us out here for a sandwich?" Dipper asked looking around fearfully.
"It's not just any sandwich." Bill corrected him as Mabel joined in on the search. "They are like heaven, the best thing you've ever tasted."
Dipper could see what he was doing. "Bill, it's okay, you don't have to make it up to me."
"Yes, I do!" Bill snapped "Every time I screw things up, and my uncle and his monster goons just make it worse. I just want to show you that being around me can be fun, that I don't bring certain death everywhere I go."
"You are fun." Dipper told him as he joined them. "Bill, I love going on adventures with you, sure they go sideways, more often than not. But you're my best friend and you don't need to prove anything to me."
Bill smiled.
"You guys gonna help me or what?" Mabel asked as she fishes around for the legendary sandwich.
The boys laugh and continue the search, Dipper peers into several tubes before spotting the prize. "Found It!" He exclaimed.
"Nice!" Mabel said as she and Bill raced over.
"Well go get it Pine Tree." Bill encouraged him.
Dipper nods and reaches for it, only to stop as he remembers the monster arm.
'You can treat the symptoms, but you'll never cure the virus!'
Dipper shivered as he remembered Toffee's cold, soulless eyes on him.
"I'm good." He said.
"Suit yourself..." Bill said trying to appear unbothered, but he is. He just wants Dipper to feel safe around him. He grunts as he puts his whole body into the tube and grabs the sandwich. "Got it!"
Dipper goes to congratulate him, but before he could say anything, all the tubes of the structure start expelling steam, which throws them down the mound and at the mouth of the cave.
The mound continued to rise revealing that it's actually a monster. A monster who's lunch they just stole! It roars with rage loudly as the three slowly back away.
"Bill give the nice monster back his sandwich." Mabel advised.
"No this is for Pine Tree." Bill yelled.
The monster charges and they run!
The three run for the hills as Bill struggles to pull the dimensional scissors out of his pocket while still holding the sandwich.
"Bill just drop the sandwich!" Dipper pleaded.
"Let me just, hang o-!" Bill finally gets the scissors ready and cuts open a portal to the Earth Dimension. Mabel jumps in first followed by Dipper, but just as Bill jumps in the monster grabs the sandwich.
"Oh no you don't!" Bill pulls, he's already in the portal which has appear in the middle of the upstairs hallway.
"Bill, its fine just let it go!" Dipper said.
"No, you'll see I can do it!" Bill pulls harder. He was going to do this; he was going to prove to Dipper that he wasn't a total screw up. That he could be a good friend, someone who he could depend on.
Dipper's blood boils why couldn't Bill just listen to him this once! "Primus feri, valide feri, miserere noli." He shouts the spell. Mabel knows this one, it means 'Strike Hard, And Fast With No Mercy!' It is perhaps one of the more dangerous spells her brother knows.
The strike hits the monster sending it flying back, taking half of the sandwich with it.
Dipper angrily pulls Bill the rest of the way though.
"I had it in my hands, Dipper." Bill shouted, not even bothering to close the portal. "I have no idea what you were thinking."
"I was thinking of not dying!" Dipper snapped.
"We went through all that trouble and this sad little scrap of the sandwich is all we have to show for it!" Bill said angrily.
"That's because it's not worth dying for a stupid piece of food!" Dipper said and slapped the sandwich out of Bill's hand.
It hits the wall, sticking there.
"I mean seriously, would it hurt for you to listen to me just once!" Dipper screamed.
"Well would it hurt you to not be so uptight?" Bill yelled back. "I hate when you act like this. It makes me wonder why we're even friends!"
"Yeah?" Dipper snapped, heading for his room. "Well, me too!" He slams his door shut.
"Fine, I'll eat this by myself!" Bill said and scraped the sandwich off the wall with his hand before retreating to his own room. He jumps on his bed and screams into his pillow.
Mabel just looks back and forth, not sure who to go to first, that is until she notices something. "Bill, you forgot to close the portal!" She says letting herself in his room.
Meanwhile, Dipper turns to stomp over to his bed, only for his door to creek open behind him. He turns sensing the danger almost immediantly, but as he is bombarded by a mist of pink dust he knows it's to late. "What the…" he suddenly feels very sleepy. "Pixie Dust…." He realized.
There's a dark chuckle to his left, and as Dipper loses his balance someone catches him.
"You really should learn to listen to your instincts." Toffee mused as he come into view.
"You were there." Dipper mumbled, trying to stay awake. His hat falls to the floor, it wasn't paranoia after all. Toffee had been following them afterall, but why was he here and not in Bill's room? "Why?" He tried to ask, but the dust pulls him under and soon he's out cold.
"All will be explained in time." Toffee promised as he opens the door and drags Dipper back though the still open portal.
The Fly monster enters through it as he does, hiding in Dipper's room. He had a message to give the prince, and by the time he did…Dipper and Toffee would be long gone!
(Back in Bill's Room…)
Mabel who has closed Bill's door behind her sees none of this, neither does Bill. He's too busy moping as he munches on the sandwich, Mabel's honestly surprise it's still edible.
"I'm such a jerk." He grumbled, obviously realizing that he was the one who really overacted. "I just really wanted him to try this sandwich…"
"Was it really about the sandwich?" Mabel prodded as she sat down beside him.
"No, I know Pine Tree thinks I'm a total screw up." Bill admitted.
"He doesn't think that." Mabel said. "He just does this sometimes. He lets people get away with stuff until he just can't take it anymore and he blows up in their face. He's too nice to tell people no you know." She explained.
"But he did tell me." Bill said. "He's right Shooting Star, I never listen to him."
"It's not too late." She told him. "If you admit you're wrong, he'll forgive you."
Bill nodded.
"Also, you left the portal open." She suddenly remembered.
"Crap!" Bill shot up and ran to the portal in the hall, He closed it quickly and then walked over to Dipper's room. He knocks on the door nervously "Hey Pine Tree, I'm sorry." He admitted. "You were right, you're always right."
No response.
Mabel tries the nob and the door opened. "Dipper?" She asked as they peered in.
They see a form in the bed, facing away from them under the covers. Only Dipper's hat is visible, 'He must be pretending to be asleep.' Bill realized. 'He must really be made at me.' "Pine Tree I'm sorry…" His words trailed off as the hat rose from the blanket revealing the monster fly.
"You're not Dipper…" Mabel whispered in disbelief.
Bill is shaking, the portal! They must have slipped through when they stomped off to their rooms. No, not they, Toffee, he had been here; Bill could smell him. "Where is he!" Bill growled almost demonically.
"If you want your friend back alive, bring the wand to Tad's castle now!" It demanded. "And come alone." The large fly flew out of the window, its job done.
Dipper's hat fell from his head and landed at Bill's feet.
Bill picked it up and clutched it close. This was all his fault; he had gotten Dipper in trouble again! No worse, he was now captured.
"I'll get Ford!" Mabel explained.
Bill didn't wait, he opened a portal to the void still holding the hat.
"Bill! NO!" Mabel tries to stop him, but the portal closes before she can follow! "Grunkle Stan!" She screams as she races out of her brother's room and down the stairs.
(Back with Ford…)
"We'll assemble our army at once." Hannibal was saying. "We'll start at Tad's castle, and we won't stop…"
"Grunkle Ford! Stan!" Mabel barges in from the elevator a hysterical mess.
"Mabel how many times…" Ford begins to lecture but what she says next stops him.
"He's gone! They took Dipper he's gone!" Mabel screams, falling into Stan's arms.
Stan catches her, holding her close. "Mabel sweetie, please calm down. We need you to tell us where…"
"Tad's castle…" Mabel blurted out.
"That, insolent!" Hannibal growled. "He's gone too far this time!"
"Bill!" Lucia suddenly realizes. "Mabel, where is Bill!?"
"I tried to stop him!" Mabel cried.
"He's gone after Dipper!" Ford realized as he pulled a lever by his desk. A panel in the wall opens up, revealing a futuristic machine. With a flip of several switches, it comes to life and Mabel sees that it's a manmade dimensional portal.
"How?" She asked.
"Sweetie I promise, we'll explain everything later." Stan assured her. "But for now, let's focus on getting the boys back."
Ford turns back to the mirror phone his eyes Meeting Hannibal's. "We'll see you there!"
Hannibal nods and shouts an order to his soldiers, just out of sight.
One walks over handing him his sword, another also presents Luisa with her own blade.
"My Queen…"
Luisa looks at the blade, eyes wide, it looks like the blade was carved from ice. Her hands shake as she reaches for it, she can practically see the blood still on it, from a war fought over 14 years ago.
Hannibal steadies her by holding her hand, the gestures is enough to ground her, and she grabs the blade with her free hand. She couldn't be weak, not at a time like this. Dipper and Bill needed her to be strong. She screamed a battle cry that the soldiers echoed, before her and Hannibal led them through an awaiting portal, their hands still intertwined.
Stan, Ford, and Mabel also take their leave, determination burning in their eyes. No matter what happened, today they were finishing this!
(Back in the Void Dimension…)
Buff Frog is sitting on a log looking defeated, He had spent all day trying to get into the castle, with no luck. His original plan was to come here and try to learn more about Toffee. After Mabel had been so kind to him, he thought he could return the favor and retrieve more information. Unfortunately, Toffee is wise to his spying and worse he seems to have kicked out Tad in his absence.
Speaking of Tad, he is coming over to him, dragging a heavy bag as he approaches.
Buff Frog turns away, he is still bitter about what he did to him. He had been nothing but loyal to his adopted father for years and how does Tad repay him? By kicking him out and replacing him with that slime ball of a lizard.
Tad stops in front of a closed door that is awkwardly standing there. He knocks and tries an uneasy smile.
"Go away." Buff Frog says.
"I just wanna talk, Buff Frog!" Tad reasons.
"Buff Frog is not even my name!" The frog monster argues.
"Really? Is it...Butt...Frog?" Tad asked.
"No, it's not Butt Frog."
"Is it Chad?"
"My name is Yvgeny Bulgolyubov." Buff Frog yells.
"No one can pronounce that!" Tad shouts in defense.
"No, but at least they try!" Buff Frog pouts. Then with a huff he adds. "What do you want?"
"Ok..." Tad drags the bag in front of Buff Frog. "I get it, I have lost your trust, but let me at least let me buy back your friendship you're going to love it."
"Fine…" Tad takes the bag and opens it, and despite himself his eyes light up.
Just then Bill arrives through the portal just in time to see the wiggling sack being offered to Buff Frog. He mistakes it for Dipper and attacks. "Traitor!" He yells as he wrenches the bag away. "It's okay Pine Tree, you're safe now…Wait what the-?" Bill looks inside the bag to see…
"Tadpoles? Ugh..." Bill asks confused "Why tadpoles?"
"Master Tad has given me babies!" Buff Frog exclaimed taking the bag back.
"Where's Pine Tree!" Bill demanded, ignoring the doting new father.
"How should I know?" Tad asked. "He's your friend."
"Your Henchman said he was taken to your castle." Bill yelled.
"That's Toffee's castle now." Buff Frog answered as he prepare to leave, strapping the bag of tadpoles over his shoulders like a book bag. "If your friend is in there you will need help."
"Oh, we don't need you." Tad snapped. "Not anymore."
"We?" Bill asked looking down at his uncle.
"Yes, you get your friend and I get my castle back." Tad reasoned, trying not to eye his nephew's cane with envy. He fails and Bill rolls his eyes.
Buff Frog swallows his growl the best he can. He knew the tadpoles had been a bribe from the beginning, but he was willing to look past that since Tad said he was sorry. Turns out though he wasn't really sorry at all. "I am not doing this for you." He said. "I do this for Mabel."
"The silly Girl?" Tad asked.
Buff Frog ignores him. "Come there is one way we can slip in unnoticed."
Bill nods and follows the frog monster, he wasn't sure if he could trust him, but he trusted Mabel's judgement and for now that was enough. Meanwhile Tad runs to keep up with them grumbling the whole way.
'We're coming Dipper." He whispered as they charged towards the castle looming ahead.
(Back with Dipper…)
Inside the Castle, Toffee sits at a long dining table as if he is about to eat a meal, but the plate before him is bare.
In a large glass cage to his right Dipper has woken up, struggling to escape the cuffs on the arms of his chair.
Toffee stiffens a chuckle at his efforts, as he counts down the seconds it takes him to try the most obvious option.
Finally with a grunt of defeat he whispers a releasing spell…only for nothing to happen. He looks around realizing the cage is actually made out of some sort of elder crystal. He remembered from his studies that most elder crystals were resistant to most magic. If he had to guess he'd need a level five breaking spell just to get close to cracking it? Which meant none of his low leave stuff was going to work while he was in it. He glares at Toffee darkly. "Well, looks like I've had all the fun I can't have in here. Oh, wait." Dipper spins in his chair, putting his feet up on a small table beside him. "Now I'm done."
Toffee laughs openly, he was so much like Seth that it was like he was looking back in time.
Dipper gives him a weird look. "Alright, you got me here, what do you want with me?"
"I thought that much would be obvious." Toffee said as he removes his jacket, placing it on his chair. Suddenly the fly monster presented him with a sandwich. He takes it and walks over to the cage.
"Look, if you're after the wand, it's harder to get than you think. Lots of people have tried." Dipper said.
"I don't want nor need that trinket." Toffee says as he enters Dipper's cage and places the sandwich on the table.
"But don't you?" Dipper asked. "You know, to free your master."
Toffee smiled. "That's what I have you for." He told him.
"What?" Now Dipper was really confused. "Look you must be confused, Bill's the one you want I'm not-"
"That imposter is nothing but a worthless speck, a waste of the master's power!" Toffee growled, suddenly losing his composer for the first time surprising his new minions who have gathered around.
Toffee takes a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "Please, eat, you will need your strength later."
Dipper shook his head; this guy was totally nuts. "Look, I don't know who you think I am, but I don't have the power to resurrect some long dead king."
"You have no idea what you are capable of." Toffee said as a matter of fact. "If you did, you'd break out of this cell with ease."
"Oh, I'm sure I do." Dipper countered "In fact, why don't you let me out of this chair, and I'll give you a taste?"
Toffee smiles slyly, seeing through the boy's plan in seconds. "Okay." He takes out a controller and with the press of a button Dipper is free.
Dipper stands up and punches what he thinks is Toffee, but it's actually just his reflection in the solid crystal. He screams.
The real Toffee, who is now behind Dipper, grabs him with his tail and puts him back in the chair.
Dipper is floored, he didn't even see him move!
Toffee pushes the sandwich toward Dipper, the boy was so out of tune with his true power that his first instinct was to strike out like a pathetic human. Master Seth would not be please, but at the moment it couldn't be avoided, besides it wasn't the child's fault he was…lacking.
"You really should eat." Toffee repeated.
"I don't want your stinking sandwich!" Dipper said and threw the sandwich away, but the toothpick inside sticks in his hand "Oh-!"
"I must admit, I'm disappointed in you." Toffee said with a sigh. For a moment he begins to doubt he has picked the right child after all. He had been looking for so long, and he had thought he was close before. However, he was always proven to be wrong, time and time again. Could he really be certain this boy was the one!
Dipper, is thrown off by the words, he was disappointed? What exactly had he expected of him? "Yeah? Well, you're boring. And you dress like a lawyer." He retorted childishly. "At least that idiot came dressed for a good time." Dipper said while pointing at Beard Deer.
Beard Deer punches the glass obviously forgetting it's there.
Dipper cracks a smile. "Well, it's obvious who the brains of the operation is." He adds getting more comfortsbler in his seat. The smug look never leaving his face as he glares the lizard down.
Toffee smile returns, yes, this one was the one, he was sure of it. He had been sure of it since the moment he saw his picture. Even before he saw the cheek marks, he knew that this was the child he had been searching for and once he eliminated his final obstacle, he would show the boy his true destiny.
(Back with Bill…)
They have made it in the castle, right through the front door.
Buff Frog had figured it would be open since this was obviously a trap.
Bill charges through the front door, without hesitation while Tad runs along the wall, trying to follow him "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! You have no idea..." Tad trips on one of the wall spikes "...how powerful Toffee is!"
"I must agree," Buff Frog said. "He is cunning. You will need the element of surprise-Toffee is not like Tad, he knows the family's magic and he will not stop until he has reached his ultimate goal."
Bill nodded; he was pretty sure Toffee was holding Dipper for ransume to force him to give up his magic. Once Toffee had it, he'd use it to bring back Seth.
"You need to have a plan!" Buff Frog continued.
"Okay, tell me what to do." Bill said.
Buff Frog does and moments later they make their way to the dining hall doors.
Bill peaks inside to see Dipper. "I see him…" He whispers.
Buff Frog nods, the plan was to hit them fast and hard, he looks to Tad, who also nods; he's ready.
Using his magic, Bill burst into the room knocking down several minions as he goes.
"Look out!" Tad exclaims. "Monster's on your twelve o 'clock!"
Bill aims at the oncoming monsters and fires off another spell.
"Behind you!" Tad shouts off another warning.
Dipper look at them confused wondering why they're working together. Tad and Bill both shrug in equal confusion. At the same time Bearicorn, the Giraffe Monster, and Spikeballs join in, and Buff Frog takes them out with one strike.
All the while Toffee watches, the smug expression never leaving his face.
Bill jumps onto the chandelier, where he prepares another attack: A rainbow rocket. Bill shoots the rocket at Dipper's cage but sadly, the attack fails. The glass is unharmed, and Dipper is still trapped. He fires several more times, but at this point it looks like the crystal cannot be destroyed.
He let's go of the chandelier and is surrounded by more monsters. He turns to see that Tad is now struggling in a monsters hold, and Buff Frog has been knocked out. This was it, the enemy had him cornered and Dipper would…
"NO!" Bill blasted the monsters away before facing the crystal cage.
Dipper backed up as Bill's triangles begin to glow, then with a demonic scream, he lets out a spell of pure raw chaos.
The cage shatters and Bill runs to him. "Come on we have to go!"
"Okay!" Dipper races after him. But the cage forms back around him trapping him once more. "Bill!"
Bill turns and is pounced by the recovering minions and just like that, the battle is over as quickly as it begins.
"Stop." Toffee suddenly shouts over them. "That's no way to treat our...guest." He said. He smiles as the monsters put their prisoners down.
"Death Daggers!" Bill wastes no time throwing a spell his way.
One of Toffee's arms are blown clear off, but the smile never leaves his face as it regenerates completely, he pulls out the controller once more and clicks a button, which causes Dipper's cage to sink into the floor.
"No, no, no, no, no! Stop, stop, stop, stop!" Bill exclaims.
"Bill just do the spell again!" Dipper yells.
"Oh right." Bill took a shaky stance to break the cell again.
"That's not going to work again. That crystal is twice as strong now." Toffee said.
Bill's face fails, what he was going to do.
Dipper tries to push up on the sinking cage. "Don't worry Bill! I think I've got it..." Dipper said. "I'll get us out this." He vowed, He focused with all his might. Toffee said he was strong, strong enough to break this cage if he really wanted to.
He hoped he wasn't just pulling his leg, because if he was, they were screwed. He gather's all his inner strength, will's the magic to run through him, but it's not working. Dipper tries not to get discouraged but he can't help it. Of Course, he couldn't break the glass, he was stupid to even believe Toffee's lies. He was nothing, nothing but a stupid human in way over his head!
Bill sees it too and he jumps on the table dropping his cane on Toffee's plate "Fine. Take it. Now let Dipper go!"
Suddenly, Tad jumps on the table and takes the wand, but the Chicken Monster catches him in his beak, and he drops it back in front of Toffee.
"Do you think I'm like Tad?" Toffee asked and pushed the cane back towards Bill. "I don't want your wand. Destroy it."
"Whaaaaaaat?" Everyone around him exclaimed.
Toffee sports a chilling smile for a split second "SURPRISE!" he jeered.
"But I don't know how." Bill said.
"Actually, you do." Toffee assured him. "It's the first spell your father ever taught you."
Bill's eyes widen. "The whispering spell." It was a spell that was supposed to be used as a last resort. After Tad had nearly stolen his power as a child, Hannibal had taught him the spell. Its purpose was to destroy the magic before it could fall in his enemy's hands. Better his own magic be gone then in the hands of his uncle.
But that didn't explain why Toffee wanted to destroy it. Didn't he need it to bring back Seth?
"Dipper's waiting." Toffee said.
"Don't do it Bill!" Dipper screamed. He had to do something, to stop this. He focuses again, willing the magic to pour out of him.
Bill kneels down to the cane and picks it up "I'm sorry Dipper…" He cries and begins to whisper the spell. His cheek marks glow as the cane begins to wither as the spell takes effect.
Dipper sees a single tear spill down from Bill's face and his rage boils over, with an inhuman scream he shatters the cage around him.
Bill stops, his spell uncompleted and turns to see Dipper, floating in midair with crescent moon cheek marks.
Toffee smiles knowingly, there is no doubt in his mind now. Dipper is the one! His smile widens as Bill's cane begins to crack. His look becomes more maniacal s the crack grows..."Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure." Toffee said to Tad's former Army.
Buff Frog, who is just now waking up grabs the tadpoles "Oh, my babies!" he covers them with his body.
Bill bolts from the table, tackling Dipper as he goes.
Toffee and the others duck as the magic explodes out of the cane, but not everyone is fast enough.
Two beams of magic shoots out, one hit's Tad who Big chicken holds up like a shield. The other smacks into Bill's back as he throws Dipper to the ground.
Dipper groans as he helps Bill off of him. "You, okay?" Dipper asked.
"Me!" Bill shouted. "You had cheek marks! And you broke through pure elder crystal!"
"Are they still there?" Dipper asked, touching his face; not even looking surprised.
Bill doesn't miss a beat. "You knew and you didn't tell me!?"
"I wanted to figure it out." Dipper explained.
"Did you?" Bill asked.
"Yeah, I think you hitting me with all those spells affected me somehow." He answered.
Bill nods. "Make sense". Then he answers Dipper's question. "You're good, they're gone."
Dipper sighs in relief, "Let's keep this to ourselves for now." He said. "Your dad is already going to flip about..." He stiffens as he suddenly remembers. "Toffee!" He looks back at the table.
He's gone! Leaving nothing but his coat.
"Pfft. Lawyers." Bill joked, trying to ease the mood, he feels so weak.
Theirs another groan, as Tad gets to his feet. "What happened?" He asked. "I feel...different."
Suddenly shouts are heard, and soldiers burst into the room!
The monster minions try to scatter, but Lusia leads the charge with a battle cry. She cuts down the monsters as she goes, blood pools the ground.
Dipper is so stunned he almost drops Bill, who is still leaning on him.
Luisa goes for Buff Frog who tries to defend his babies.
"Wait!" Dipper yells!
Luisa stops her blade pauses in mid-swing; she turns to see Bill. He is looking at her, watching as she spills their blood. Memories of a young wide eyed Mina fill her vision; she was doing it again...
"Mom, you're holding your sword..." Bill says as he final gives into his exhaustion, collapsing.
She drops her sword and rushes to his side, helping Dipper catch him.
Buff Frog seizes the moment to run; he takes his babies and jumps out the nearest window.
"Dipper!" Mabel screams as she and the Grunkles force their way past the soldiers.
"Son!" Hannibal is by Bill's side in seconds, not caring if he looks weak in front of his men. "Are you hurt?"
"I...I don't think so." Bill said. "Just weak..." He groaned.
"Bill where is your wand!" Ford yells.
"Gone..." Bill answered. "I'm sorry dad, I had to use the whispering spell..." He said feeling guilty.
"It's alright." Hannibal assured his son. "You did what you had to."
"No, Toffee, he wanted me to do it..." Bill exclaimed.
Hannibal goes pale and he shares an almost knowing look with Ford.
"And where is Toffee now?" Ford asked.
"Also gone." Dipper answered and Mabel hugged him close.
"I thought I lost you!" She cried.
Dipper held her close as Stan embraces them both.
"And your uncle?" Luisa dared to ask.
Bill shook his head looking around for him, but he is gone too! "I didn't finish the spell." He tried to explain, "The cane…my magic broke out of it and hit me..."
"Did it hit anyone else?" Luisa urged. "Think hard sweetie, did you get all your powers back?"
"I..." Bill tries to remember. 'I don't...know..." He admitted.
"It's alright, we'll find him!" Hannibal assured his son. "No one will rest until my brother and that Septarian are dead!"
The soldiers respond to the command! Running to find their prey.
"And no harm is to come to the Frog Man." Luisa ordered remembering Buff Frog.
"Thank you." Mabel whispered, and the queen nodded.
"It's thanks to him my baby boy is safe." She cried.
"I'm sorry mom." Bill croaked. "I really messed up this time hu?" He asked.
"No son." Hannibal tells him. "This ones on me." He admitted.
"Are you going to make me come home?" Bill asked fearfully.
"No, we need you hidden away, all of you." Luisa said, pushing the hair from his face. "Until we know the danger has passed."
"I'll strengthen the barriers." Ford spoke, "We'll keep the kids safe."
"We know you will." Luisa said, placing a hand on his arm. "We'll make this right." She vowed.
"We won't rest until we do." Hannibal vowed his eyes meeting Stan's.
Stan gave him a respectful nod. "We know you will, and about earlier..." He pauses. "You couldn't have known that there was still one out there."
"I should have." Hannibal said, shaking his head. "They're like a virus, you can't get rid of them..."
Dipper shivered, why did Hannibal's words remind him of the monster arm?
'You can treat the symptoms, but you can't cure the virus...'
"Are you alright Mason?" Hannibal asked.
"I..." He looks to Bill, who gives him a nod. "I will be..." He answers.
"I cannot express how sorry I am." The demon king told him. "I will fix this; you have my word."
Dipper nodded but, his eyes rested not on Hannibal but Mable and then Bill. They each shared a look with him. He wasn't sure why Toffee took him, but it was obvious the adults knew all too well. 'They don't want me to know, they don't want any of us to know.' He realized.
It was with that he decided, once they were alone, he'd fill Mabel and Bill on everything that happened; then they would find the answers for themselves.
Mabel and Bill nodded their understanding, as if they could read his mind. They would find answers, whether Ford and the others wanted them to or not!
