So please be patient.
I do NOT Own Fairy Tail and it's Characters.
However, I do own the new characters that will be introduced later on in the story!
Now without further ado, Here is Chapter 1 of The Prophecy In The Stars!
Hope you enjoy!
The guildhall was all a hustle and bustle. It seemed something was going on, but Lucy had no clue what that could have been. She shrugged and continued to the mission board. She was a little short on rent and needed a small solo job. Which was why she came here so early. She knew the others would have wanted to tag along and make a mess of things.
But as she made her way to the board she caught sight of Natsu sitting and talking with Lisanna. She blinked and wondered why he was here so early. He was never here this early but seeing him with Lisanna was even weirder. She knew that they were old friends but he never sat with Lisanna without someone else from the guild with him. However this time he was by himself with her. She didn't know if they were arguing or what but the way they were huddled together whispering to each other made it look like it.
She sighed and shrugged while continuing to the board dismissing the thought. As she stood there looking over the jobs she felt something land on her head. She blinked a few times before tilting her head back. She couldn't see anything but she could feel something there.
Lucy sighed. "All right, which one are you?" Lucy asked in defeat. She moved her eyes up to see a totem peeking over her head before it noticed she was looking and moved away. "Peppe." Lucy sighed. "You guys have been pests lately. Is Bickslow not paying attention to you guys or something?" She asked reaching up and scratching its head with her finger.
The totem giggled before flying away.
Lucy shook her head before looking back at the board. She saw one that was perfect and plucked it from the board.
*Need Assistance*
Grave Robber
$20,000
Looked easy and simple. And Perfect.
Lucy nodded with a grin and headed up to Mira at the Bar. She glanced over toward where Natsu was sitting with Lisanna and saw him watching her. Which wasn't unusual but the look on his face said confusion. Which again wasn't anything new with Natsu but why was he looking at her like that she didn't know. She shrugged it off and continued to Mira.
At The Same Time
"Why don't you go ask her?" Lisanna asked with a huff crossing her arms under her chest while glaring at him.
Natsu sighed. "Because I know Luce, she wouldn't like it." He said defeated shaking his head.
Lisanna sighed letting her arms drop. "You won't know until you ask. Not to mention it looks like she's taking a mission herself anyway." Lisanna pointed out as she motioned with her head to Lucy at the board.
Natsu's jaw dropped when he looked where Lisanna motioned to. Lucy never took a job without all of them. He tilted his head as he watched one of Bickslow's Totems land on her head.
"Why are Bickslow's dolls always bugging everyone?" Natsu grumbled in annoyance.
"They're probably bored. They've been acting like that for a while now. And Lucy seems to be their favorite person to bug." Lisanna giggled as they watched the totem fly away giggling. "Now, as I was saying, why don't you go ask her? She's taking a Solo mission anyway, so she wouldn't mind." Lisanna pushed.
Natsu watched Lucy walk toward the bar with his head tilted trying to figure out if he should ask or just do what he wanted since she was going on a solo one herself. He saw Lucy look over at them. She looked to be in thought but then shrugged and continued to Mira.
Natsu sighed. "Let's just go, she's going without talking to us," Natsu grumbled in annoyance crossing his arms over his chest.
Lisanna giggled. "Natsu, she's a big girl and I bet she's picked missions before and you guys ambushed her into going with her," Lisanna mentioned.
Natsu thought about it. And he realized that Lisanna may have been right. Now he felt bad. He didn't know that she would have wanted to go by herself all those other times.
Natsu shook his head. "No, let's just go, she won't be here anyway so what's the point of asking?" Natsu asked turning his head away from where Lucy stood at the bar talking to Mira.
Lisanna huffed before she sighed. "All right, that's it," Lisanna said before standing up and grabbing the back of Natsu's vest. "You're going to stop being a baby and ask her whether you like it or not." She said as she dragged him across the guild floor while he protested the whole way.
A Few Minutes Earlier
Mira stood there humming a tune as she wiped down the glass in her hand. The daily noise of the guild was like music to her ears. She looked up and scanned the guild. Lucy was at the mission board scanning the job flyers before one of Bickslow's Totems landed on her head. Mira giggled as she watched the interaction. She continued scanning the crowd when she came to her sister and Natsu looking like they were arguing. She wondered what that was all about as she tilted her head curiously.
Mira shrugged as she turned back her task.
"Hey, Mira!" She heard Lucy call to her cheerfully.
Mira looked up with a smile. "Hi, Lucy. What can I do for you?" She asked.
Lucy held up the paper and handed it to her. "Need to take this one. Rents due you know." Lucy said sheepishly.
Mira looked over the request. "Are you sure you want to go alone for this?" Mira asked with an unsure look.
"Yup. How hard can one Grave robber be?" Lucy said with a shrug.
"Lucy, this is B-Rank Job. It's meant for more than one person." Mira warned.
"It's fine. I can handle it. It's just a grave robber, nothing too bad. The client is probably exaggerating it to get it done faster." Lucy said waving off her concern.
Mira sighed. "All right. I expect to hear from you at least once a day otherwise I'm sending another team after you." Mira said in a scolding tone.
Lucy giggled. "Fine, don't worry I'll check in regularly," Lucy said to please the take-over mage.
Mira nodded and took the paper to the giant book in the back. Lucy knew this was just how Mira was. She worried about everyone else like a mother-hen or an older sister. Considering she was an older sister to Elfman and Lisanna it was understandable why everyone saw her that way.
"Hey, Lucy!" Lucy heard her name called from behind her.
Lucy turned and saw Lisanna walking toward her dragging what looked like a reluctant Natsu behind her. If she didn't know Lisanna like she did she'd think the scene in front of her would be strange. Considering she knew Lisanna pretty well, this didn't surprise her like it would anyone outside of Fairy Tail.
"Hey, Lis! What's going on?" Lucy asked as she looked around Lisanna to an annoyed-looking Natsu.
Lisanna sighed, "This-" she brought Natsu around to the front of her, "big baby-" she continued as she dropped him onto the floor at their feet, "is too scared, or stubborn, to ask you if you would mind that he and I took a mission together." Lisanna said, her hands on her hips glaring at Natsu who refused to look at her.
Lucy bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Oh? Is this true Natsu?" Lucy asked sweetly with a bat of her eyelashes.
Natsu sagged in defeat. "Yes." He mumbled.
"Hm? What was that, Natsu? I couldn't hear you." Lucy continued to tease while Lisanna bit her lip to keep herself from laughing.
Natsu grumbled before he stood, squaring his shoulders as he looked at Lucy. "Yes, it's true. I just didn't want you to get mad that I went with Lisanna. But it seems it wasn't really a big deal since you're going by yourself anyway." Natsu said crossing his arms across his chest with a huff.
Lisanna and Lucy leaned around Natsu and grinned at each other with a snicker. They thought it was fun to mess with Natsu whenever they got the chance. Much to Natsu's annoyance. They gave each other a thumbs-up before straightening.
Lucy cleared her throat. "Oh, is that so, Natsu? Do you think you can behave yourself while with Lisanna? I mean I don't think she would like it if you kept her from earning any of the reward." Lucy said teasingly.
"I wouldn't do that!" Natsu said in shock. Lucy gave him a look before he deflated. "Fine. I promise to behave." He said his shoulders sagging.
Lisanna covered her mouth trying to keep the laughter at bay. She thought it was hilarious when Lucy scolded Natsu. He always looked like a scolded puppy by the time she was done with him.
"Also, no destroying anything! The guild can't afford to keep paying for the damages you cause." Lucy continued her left hand on her hip while she wagged her right pointer finger at Natsu.
Natsu's cheeks tinted. "I promise! I won't destroy anything!" He said with a few bows.
Lucy nodded placing her right hand on her hip with the left one. "Good. Now, go. Shoo." Lucy said moving her hand in a shooing motion.
Lisanna giggled as Natsu stalked off. "Thanks, Lucy." She said with a wave before running after Natsu.
"Be careful! Don't let Natsu get too carried away!" Lucy called out giggling with a wave.
Lucy giggled as Mira returned. "What's so funny?" Mira asked.
"Natsu. He was embarrassed to ask if he could go with Lis on a mission." Lucy said still giggling.
Mira giggled before handing the paper to her. "Here you go. Now, remember what I said. Call every day or I'm sending out a search party." Mira said, hands on her hips with a stern look.
Lucy bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Yes, Mom!" Lucy called over her shoulder with a wave.
Mira sighed as she watched Lucy walk through the guild doors. She was worried that was for sure. That mission was a B-Rank and shouldn't be taken lightly. But even the flier made it sound like it was easier than it should be. But she knew that these types of missions could be misleading.
"What's got you in Mother-hen mode?" A deep voice asked from the side.
Mira looked over and smiled but it wasn't her normal smile. "Just this mission that Lucy just took. Something about it feels off. But I might be overreacting." Mira said with a shrug. "What can I do for you?" She asked walking over to where Laxus and the Thunder Legion were standing on the other side of the bar.
"What mission was it?" Freed asked.
"It was about a grave robber. But it was labeled as a B-Rank. I told Lucy to take her team but she said she'd be fine." Mira sighed looking back at the door.
"Well, it would be hard for her to take her team. Erza's gone, she left yesterday. Gray finally agreed to go with Juvia on a date. And I saw Natsu with Lisanna at the board just now. So, her team isn't available." Bickslow said counting the members off with his fingers.
Mira sighed again in defeat. "I guess it can't be helped." She looked up and put her regular smile in place. "Now, What can do for you guys?" She asked.
Freed handed her a piece of paper. "Master just gave this to us so we're going to be heading out. We just stopped here to let you know and possibly get some lunch to go." Freed explained, his cheeks tinting.
Mira nodded looking over the paper. Her eyes went wide as a smile stretched across her face. The Thunder Legion members all looked at her and tilted their heads in confusion.
"Mira... That smile of yours has gone creepy." Bickslow stated.
"Creepy Creepy!" The totems started flying around chanting.
Mira's turned her sparkling eyes toward the group. "This is perfect!" Mira exclaimed.
After a few seconds, Laxus sighed. "Ooookay... I'll bite. Why is this perfect?" Laxus asked leaning away from her.
"Your mission is close to where Lucy is going! If she needs help I can send you guys! And you can keep an eye on her! This is perfect!" Mira gushed as she twirled around clutching the papers close to her chest.
The group blinked and then looked at one another. They weren't sure this would be a good idea. They worried that Lucy would take it the wrong way if she saw them there.
Laxus sighed dragging a hand down his face. "Mira, we'll do our best but unless she requests backup or misses a check-in we're keeping our distance," Laxus said.
"But-" Mira tired.
"No. No buts. Lucy is a capable mage, she'll ask for help if she needs it. She's not some kid that needs a babysitter. Let the girl go." Laxus said shutting Mira down and looking away from the pout that she gave him.
"He's right, Mira. Remember we fought her. Bickslow one on one and then myself and Bickslow during the S-Class trials. She's more than capable. We'll be nearby if she needs us but otherwise, we're staying out of her way. Have some faith in her." Freed explained with a small smile.
Mira sagged in defeat but nodded. "Fine." She grumbled.
Laxus rolled his eyes. "Let's go, we need to get ready. We'll be back for the food." Laxus said walking away from the bar with the others on his heels.
Mira just grumbled but went to get together what they needed. She just hoped she was wrong and they would come back safe.
Laxus and his team headed toward the doors when his ears twitched picking up the conversation over by the mission board. He looked over and watched as Lisanna searched through the board but she couldn't find the one she spotted earlier.
Lisanna knew it was here when she got there. The only reason she didn't grab it off the board earlier was that she wasn't sure if Natsu would agree to go with her and since the mission was considered a B-rank she couldn't go by herself and needed someone else to go with her or her sister wouldn't let her go.
"Damn it. It's not here. I can't find it anywhere." Lisanna whined.
"What mission?" Natsu asked.
"This morning when I came in I found the perfect mission for us. It was a B-rank and I know my sister, she wouldn't have let me take it by myself, which is why I asked you to go with me." Lisanna sagged with disappointment.
Natsu's eyes went wide. "Did you say B-rank?" Natsu asked. Lisanna tilted her head but nodded. Natsu gulped. "Luce just left with a B-rank mission. I heard Mira and her talking about it." Natsu explained.
"You're kidding? And my sister just let her?!" Lisanna almost screeched.
Natsu's hands covered his ears as he nodded. "She didn't want to at first but Luce convinced her she'd be fine," Natsu explained as his ears twitched listening to Mira and Laxus talking.
"What if the mission isn't what we think it is? I mean it did read as an easier B-rank but not all missions are what they seem, even I know that." Lisanna asked sounding worried.
Natsu's lips twitched. "Looks like Laxus and his team will be close so she'll have backup if needed," Natsu said feeling relieved. He had to admit he felt better knowing that Luce had someone nearby if she did need the extra help. He didn't like her out by herself. "Don't worry, if anything does go wrong I trust Laxus and the Thunder Legion to have Luce's back. They wouldn't let anything happen to her." Natsu praised. "Now, let's find something else." He urged.
Lisanna sighed but smiled with a nod before going back to the board.
Laxus sighed once he stepped outside feeling annoyed. He now felt like he had to keep an eye out for Lucy. After hearing Natsu's words he felt like he didn't have a choice.
"Oh, no. What's wrong? You have that 'now I'm irritated' look on your face." Evergreen asked looking around him to his face with her hands behind her back.
Laxus sighed out a grumble. "Bicks, when we get to where we're going can you have your least annoying totem keep an eye on Lucy?" Laxus sounded even more irritated than he intended but he couldn't help it. Natsu made him feel like he didn't have a choice. He looked over to Bickslow who looked like he was going to argue but cut him a look. "Not a word. Just, not a word." He said walking away without another word.
"What was that about?" Evergreen asked as she blinked watching their leader walk away.
Freed sighed before shaking his head. "No clue. Let's just go get ready, shall we? We don't want to be late for the train." He said walking away.
"He does realize that all of my babies are pretty annoying, especially lately? I don't know if they'd stay out of sight to watch her or bother her making it known that we're nearby." Bickslow explained.
Evergreen shrugged. "Try to figure it out. We have to get going." She said walking toward Fairy Hills.
Bickslow sighed. "Oh, man. I swear you guys better behave, or you guys are going to get me into more trouble than you have lately." Bickslow grumbled as his totems giggled flying around him.
Lucy walked through her door and headed straight to her bedroom. She had to change and pack to catch the train. But Mira's words kept running through her mind. Maybe Mira was right and it's not meant for a solo mage. But it was too late now she already accepted the job. It looked like if she needed help she'd have to call Mira and admit that she was wrong about the job. As much as she would hate that, she knew it would be the right thing to do.
Lucy sighed as she walked into the bathroom to take a quick shower. She had a feeling she wouldn't be able to get a good one until she got back from this job. She had to admit though, it was strange taking a job by herself. Normally the others would tag along and make it ten times harder for her to earn money making it so they would have to do several more jobs before she would have enough for rent. This was a nice change of pace she had to admit.
Once out of the shower, she dressed in a pair of black shorts and a purple halter top. Throwing her hair into half pigtails she then started gathering her clothes and things she needed to pack. Once she was packed she grabbed her key pouch and attached it to her belt. Grabbing her whip and attaching it to her other side, she slipped on her brown knee-high boots before grabbing the handle of her suitcase and headed out the door.
She ran down the road hoping she wouldn't miss the train. As she got closer she saw the train just pulling into the station. She sighed in relief knowing she had plenty of time. Once she got there she went to the ticket booth and got her ticket before heading toward the train to board. She stopped in line as she waited for the others to board the train.
"Come on, lady hurry up!" She heard someone yell followed by a few more people yelling for someone to hurry up.
Lucy looked around the group and saw a little old lady trying to pull her suitcase up the steps. But she also saw that one was willing to help her.
She sighed and walked around the line. "Here, let me give you a hand." She said as she reached the front and grabbed the suitcase from the lady.
The old lady looked up and blinked before smiling. "Thank you, young lady. I think I may have over-packed." The lady chuckled sounding a bit embarrassed.
Lucy smiled. "It's no problem. Come on, let's get you to your seat." Lucy said following behind the lady.
She looked over her shoulder and glared at the people who refused to help the lady and continued to just yell at her to hurry up. She shook her head showing her disappointment before following behind the lady. She felt eyes on her, like someone was watching her but she shook her head dismissing it as everyone being curious about the interaction that just occurred.
Unknown to her there was a group watching her.
The Thunder Legion watched from the back at the scene. Evergreen smiled and shook her head. Bickslow had to grab two of his totems as they went to fly off. Freed chuckled shaking his head. Laxus frowned as he watched the scene unfold.
"Why are people always so rude?" Freed asked after Lucy was out of sight.
"Knock it off, will you? Stay here." Bickslow whined trying to hold his totems back.
"People are impatient by nature and they don't think that maybe if they help things would go faster. Plus, it's Lucy, you really think she was going to just stand there while people berated an old lady for something out of her control?" Evergreen asked.
"You have a point. I heard Lucy once went off on the council for saying something about Master being too old to run a guild." Freed chuckled.
Laxus sighed. "Let's go. And Bickslow, get them under control, will you? I've heard plenty of people complaining that they've been annoying them as of late." Laxus chided.
"I'm trying! I don't know what's gotten into them." Bickslow sighed holding the totems.
'Lucy fun, Lucy play' the totems chanted.
"No, you leave her alone for right now. You can't let her know we're here!" Bickslow sighed. They were getting to be a handful lately. "Can you guys please behave?" Bickslow whined dejectedly.
Laxus shook his head but followed the line into the train. He dreaded this but he wanted to conserve his magic instead of just using his lightning to get there. Plus, what Mira said about the Job Lucy was going on had his instincts on edge.
"Are you sure you want to take the train? We know how you get." Evergreen asked quietly.
Laxus shook his head. "I'm fine." He grunted as he walked ahead to get on the train.
Evergreen sighed. She knew he would refuse. She just wished that one of these days he would just tell them that he didn't want to ride the train instead of just enduring it because of them.
The group walked into the train following the line of people. Laxus kept his ears open trying to listen for Lucy so he would know where she was. It took a few seconds but he finally heard her.
"There you go Ma'am," Lucy said helping the lady into her seat.
"Thank you, dear." The lady replied with a smile.
"Take care." Lucy waved before moving on to her own seat.
Laxus watched as Lucy sat down in an empty car propping her feet up on the seat across from her. He knew she'd move them if she needed to but he knew she wanted to at least relax for a minute. He thought the girl deserved to relax since he knew she and her team had just gotten back from a job yesterday afternoon. From what he had gathered from listening in on conversations in the guild, he knew that the group didn't get much of the reward, mainly Lucy's part was deducted for damages that Natsu had caused.
Laxus sighed as he sat down and side-eyed his friend who was still trying to hold onto his totems. They tried to escape but he wasn't allowing them to.
Laxus sighed. "Let one go. But to watch only, they can not let themselves be seen." Laxus said getting annoyed with the situation quickly.
Bickslow looked at him like he was crazy. "You do realize I can't promise that right now? I don't know what's going on with them lately." Bickslow explained, half whining.
"They were fine on our last job, but since we got back to Magnolia they've been acting really weird. Weirder than normal, even for them." Freed said with a slight tilt of his head and his fist at his chin in thought.
"Yeah, I know but I don't know what's wrong with them," Bickslow said with a sigh as he plopped down on the seat holding his totems in his arms.
'Lucy Danger! Lucy Danger!'
The totems chanted as they struggled to get free.
"What do they mean? Lucy Danger?" Evergreen asked as she tilted her head resting it on her fist that was propped up on the arm of the seat.
Bickslow shook his head. "I don't know. This isn't the first I've heard them say that though." Bickslow said as the Totems continued to struggle. "Every time we're at the guild they say that before they fly off, then next thing I know Lucy is yelling at them for bugging her. I'm really getting tired of apologizing to her all the time." He sighed sagging in his seat.
Laxus slouched in his seat already feeling the sickness creeping up on him. But what the team was talking about made him think of the job they were being sent on. Technically it's a continuation of their previous job because some of them got away and were causing trouble again.
However, as he thought more about it, the flyer didn't seem right to him. It said there was a dark guild attacking but the entire guild, minus a few that got away, were in prison. So, he didn't understand why it said a full guild. The job itself sounded harder than he thought it would be. Especially if it's only the few that got away.
As the train began to move his thoughts were replaced with the will to not puke. He groaned as he slid down in the seat.
Laxus finally admitted to himself that this was the last time he would ever ride the train. Although he vowed that every time, so he hardly took himself seriously when it came to that thought. Maybe this time he would stick to it.
He could only hope.
As the train ride continued Bickslow noticed that his totems were calming down and acting normal again. He couldn't understand it but he slowly let them go. They floated around like they normally did but didn't act out.
Bickslow couldn't help but sag in relief. "Okay, if you guys are good now, can one of you go keep an eye on Lucy? Make sure doesn't see you?" Bickslow asked.
The totems all looked at each other before bobbing up and down. Peppe flew up and out of the car to go find Lucy.
"Okay, even that is weird. How come they are fine now but at home they are out of control?" Evergreen asked while eyeing a rather green-looking Laxus.
"The hell if I know. I'm just glad they're behaving now." Bickslow said with a sigh.
The totems danced and flew around like there was nothing wrong as the train continued.
Lucy stretched her arms above her head as she slowly woke up from the nap that she didn't plan on taking. She rubbed her eyes and looked out the window. She saw they were approaching the station and was glad she woke up now. She let her feet fall from the seat across from her. She was glad that no one came to sit there, she could actually stretch out and relax before taking on a job.
She bet this job would be easy, that the person only made it sound harder than it really was. She's dealt with those types before. The reward though is what made her think it was easier than it sounded. It was a low reward for a B-rank job. She should know, she'd been on plenty with her team. The reward was never this low if the job was too hard. So with that knowledge alone, she knew this would be easy.
As the train pulled into the station Lucy got up to grab the bag she packed but paused and looked around the inside of the car. She felt like she was being watched.
Lucy let out a sigh. "I must be losing it." She mumbled before reaching up to get her bag.
Once her bag was down she felt the brakes engage bringing the train to a stop. She exited her train car and continued to the exit. She stopped about halfway and looked in on the older woman and saw she was struggling again.
Placing a smile on her face Lucy stepped forward reaching up and getting the woman's bag down for her.
"Here you go, Ma'am. Do you need any more help?" Lucy asked.
"Oh, yes, please, dear. That would be so wonderful. Thank you." The older woman said walking ahead of Lucy to the exit.
"No problem. I don't mind at all." Lucy commented as she passed a few people who all looked down at their feet. Once outside Lucy looked around trying to find anything or anyone waiting for the older woman. "Did you need help with anything else? I have a few minutes before I have to be where I'm going." Lucy said with a smile.
The older woman looked around a chuckled. "There's my son there." She said as she pointed to a pacing man a few feet away.
Lucy giggled. "Not the patient type is he?" Lucy asked with a smile.
The older woman chuckled, "Not in the slightest, dear, not in the slightest. Thank you, dear, but I can get it from here." The woman said taking her bag and waving over her shoulder as she walked toward the man who had stopped his pacing and looked at the older woman impatiently.
Lucy shook her head and headed toward the hotel where she was to meet the client who requested Fairy Tail.
Lucy didn't know that she was being followed when she got off the train. The little guy stayed out of sight like he was told. The totem flew back to where Bickslow and the others were waiting and recounted what it saw and heard while it floated and spun around. Bickslow and Freed helped a still nauseous Laxus to the exit. Evergreen walked behind the men shaking her head.
Once off the train, Laxus felt a little better but still needed to rest a bit more. His body was not happy with him for riding the train. It took a few seconds for his ear to unclog for the sound to make it through. His vision was the next to come back. He stood up from his friends and rolled his shoulders and neck.
"Thanks," Laxus grunted before walking ahead of them.
Evergreen smiled and shook her head again. She knew Laxus hated needing help to walk after getting off a train. He was always embarrassed about it so he was grumpy for a while afterward. They were used to it so they let him mope in peace.
Evergreen looked to the right and saw a head of blonde hair walking away from the station. If she had to guess it was probably Lucy. Since from what she saw Lucy was the only other blonde on the train. She went to look away but saw the older woman and a man watching the blonde walk away. What bothered her was the sinister smiles they had on their faces, but when she blinked the two were gone.
"What is it, Ever?" Freed asked looking back at her.
Evergreen startled but cleared her throat. "Oh! Nothing. Come on, we have to meet the client." Evergreen said walking past Freed.
Evergreen didn't know what was going on, but suddenly she had a really bad feeling about this.
Lucy walked up to the hotel and looked around. She was hoping the client would be outside waiting. But as she looked around it seemed no one was waiting for her. She sighed and entered the hotel looking around. There didn't seem to be anyone waiting there either. She was starting to get annoyed but turned to the receptionist at the counter.
"Excuse me?" Lucy called out as she walked up to the counter. "Can you help me with something?" She asked with a smile.
The girl blinked but nodded. "Of course. What do you need?" The girl asked.
Lucy held out the flyer. "I'm here about this job and the client was supposed to meet me here. Do you know where they would be by chance?" Lucy asked.
The girl looked over the flyer and nodded. "Yes, he said that something came up and told me to settle you into this room," The girl said pulling out a key and handing it over to her, "And to let you know he left the information about the job on the table in the room. He also said you can start the job tomorrow whenever you like." The girl said with a smile.
"Oh! Thank you! I'll go put my things away and look over the information and get started as soon as I can." Lucy said taking the key and waving as she headed toward the stairs.
Lucy was exhausted even though she slept a bit on the train. It felt like her energy was being zapped. But she was here for a job so she'd have to get some rest then start on the job.
Once she got to her room she saw the stack of papers on the table just like the girl downstairs said. She sighed and placed her bag by the front of the bed. She walked over to the table and picked up the papers. She read through them noting the description of the guy they believe is behind the grave robbing. When he strikes. All the info she would normally have to get herself by staking out the cemetery for a few days.
It looked like most of her job was done for her.
All she had to do was catch the guy.
Easy.
Simple.
Or so she thought.
Hope you enjoyed the first chapter!
It's going to be a very slow story nothing like my other ones.
Stay tuned for the next one!
And Thank you all again for the support!
