Peter maintained a consistent speed, gradually running a few meters away from the main group. Some turned a few corners, but Peter wanted to get to the center where there were likely to be more robots to be destroyed.
The boy knew most of the participants had trained their lifetimes for a shot at passing this test. Comparatively, the amount of time Peter had his quirk was a drop in the bucket. With all that in mind, Peter knew he had to get out in front and stay there if he wanted to hold his own.
Kicking off his shoes, Peter leapt up and began running on the walls of buildings. Okay, just stay calm, he said to himself. You've got plenty of time, just stay out in front and don't look back.
Suddenly, his Spider Sense began to tingle. And just in front of him, the window of one of the buildings smashed open, and from there emerged green robot. It had a drone-like appearance, with propellers, two arms with fists, and a machine gun. On top of the left hand, a big, white '10' painted on, likely a representation of the number of points it represented. At the front, a single red robotic eye looked around, stopping at Peter.
"Target acquired, preparing attack," the robot announced its intention by focusing its eye on the boy. The arms of the machine gun began to spin, as if about to shoot. But Peter was no longer the same quirkless kid. He was a new person, full of determination and ready to fight.
Using his built up momentum, Peter leapt over the robot, twisting himself in midair to make himself a smaller target. He grabbed it by the eye with his right hand, and used his other limbs to re-stick himself to the building. Moving fast, he slammed the drone into the wall, completely destroying it.
Well, that's 10 points, he thought to himself, leaping forwards in search of more robots. Peter landed atop a flagpole and looked around. There was another one on the road, this one on a single wheel and humanoid in appearance. The boy jumped down with the intention of landing on top of it.
But then, his Spider Sense went off again. Just as he was about to kick the robot, a ray of blue energy from above hit the machine, destroying it before Peter could reach it. The boy was startled by the sudden brightness and burst of energy, landing in a crater filled with destroyed robot bits.
Peter looked up, there was another boy. His hands were outstretched and he floating, surrounded by an blue energy. He wore normal clothes, but on his head was a golden helmet with a red four-pointed star on his forehead. "Got him!" He yelled in triumph.
"Hey, that was mine!" Peter yelled in annoyance.
"Ya snooze, ya looooseee!" He retorted as he flew off. Swallowing his anger, Peter focused on finding more robots. Until he hears an alert from the speakers.
"There's only ten minutes left!!!!" Deadpool's voice screamed, bringing anxiety back into the boy's heart.
Oh crap! Peter thought when he heard this. Knowing he'd have to up his efforts, he rolled up his sleeves and shot out a web. A small spurt of blood emitted from his wrist, but Peter ignored the pain and swung towards the center of the city. He gradually began to build up speed as he came across another 10 pointer. Not bothering to stop this time, Peter shot a web into its robot eye and flew through the air towards it. Bringing back his fist, Peter punched through the drone, his momentum from swinging adding to the impact.
That makes 20, I'm getting back on track. Peter began to calm back down, finally coming the various robot housings with different scores drawn on the sides. Several robotic carcasses along with several young people with the most varied Quirks were together, each trying as hard as possible to get as many points as possible. With so little breathing room down there, Peter's chances of getting points was drastically reduced. He had to come up with a plan, fast.
Attack from above, he thought, remembering the boy with the golden helmet. Choosing another robot, ironically the same kind Helmet Boy stole from him, Peter thwipped a web at it and yanked it through the air. Swinging the web around in a circle, Peter smashed it into another robot, destroying them both.
37, Peter estimated. At this rate, I might have a real shot! The boy looked around, observing some recognizable faces. He sees the Wanda, arms outstretched and wiggling her fingers. Red energy emitted from her hands, and in front of her, a robot with a large painted red '3' was levitated, being surrounded by the same energy pulsating red and was thrown in the direction of other low-scoring robots, she then stops with her hands on her knees, breathing hard.
"Okay, these should be at least 48 points," she said. Wanda regards the carcasses and ran off to get more points.
"'48 points'!?" Peter asked himself, impressed by the amount of points she had won in the same amount of time. She wasn't even picking them off from a higher point like he was. Wanda was right in the thick of it.
A little further away, Peter could see the dark-skinned boy who had complained to him during the lecture. He was quite agile, and seemed to emit some kind of energy when making contact with the robots. After a kick to one of the machines, it seemed to overload with power and blew out the robots' internal circuits.
"That makes for 65..." he commented.
How did he get so many!? Peter asked himself, a little nervous now. I've gotta get some more points!!
"52 for me!" Someone said, smashing a robot's arm.
"And here's 20 points!" Called another.
"Hey, that's mine!" Someone complained.
Peter stopped, looking around him. So many points were being won, but only a few robots remained and were quickly being destroyed.
At this rate, there'll be no enemies left!! He thought worriedly. I've gotta get at least one or two more...
"Clearly the examinees have no idea of the amount of villains present or their locations," a voice in a dark room said. A group was watching the proceedings on a set of monitors. "They only have a limited time and need to cover a wide area to hunt the last target," another voice adds to the other people in the room.
The monitors changed and now showed different examinees at different points in the city. "Hmmm, I'd say this year's group looks very promising," said a feminine, sensual voice from the group.
"Well, there's still a bit of time before it ends," another voice cuts in, this time male, rough and hoarse. "And the real test is yet to come, let's see how they react..." He opens a protective capsule and pressed a red button, not taking his eyes off the screen.
In the midst of all the combat and destruction, a sound erupted over the others in the middle of each of the simulation areas. It began with several explosions, much bigger and louder than any individual of the participants would be able to produce. Everyone stops and watched the creator of all that destruction: a huge robot that emerged from the smoke, destroying several buildings simply by standing up.
While the other robots weren't more than 6 feet tall, this one easily exceeded 150, moving around with giant wheels on tank-like tracks. Its giant robotic hands crushed nearby buildings, and its huge rectangular head eight visual points representing the life detectors on the front. Everyone stopped for a moment, when facing such monstrosity, they could see the similarities with the image of the zero point robot.
"...The last opponent is just an obstacle for us to have a little fun while watching you almost die. There's one at each station, so don't be afraid to run like hell when you see it... "
Holy crap, isn't that a bit extreme!? Peter thought, remembering Deadpool's words from before. The huge robot then lifts and closes its right fist. It punches the ground with the greatest possible force, the impact making the whole place tremble.
A huge gust of wind raised a sandstorm and blows in the direction of the candidates, who protect themselves as best they can. Until the wind stops and only the dust remains suspended. Peter watched the huge robot get up and also sees the other candidates running away from it, out of the fog of dust.
Whether it was fear or the simple futility of trying to face that thing, nobody cared. All the candidates ran for their lives and their vacancy, to try to get more points or simply guarantee their current number of points by not getting run over by the machine.
"Now things get interesting..." a soft, masculine and quiet voice addresses his colleagues in the monitor room. "The true character of a person is only truly revealed when he or she is faced with danger."
Peter tries to swing away as the mechanical monstrosity getting closer and closer. This is a disaster, he thinks to himself. I've gotta find more of those smaller robots! Damn, I'm still low on points!!
"Less than two minutes left, better hurry up!" Deadpool screams through the speakers
"Augh!!!" A groan of pain is heard by Peter, who looked down. It was Wanda: she'd been pinned to the ground by falling rubble. Her face was sweaty and dirty, and she looked to be in considerable pain. Wanda seemed to be trying to use her quirk, but for some reason, it wasn't working.
"Is this your first time?" "I'm glad you decided to come after all..."
"With great power, there must also come great responsibility…"
Peter hears the voices of both Wanda and Uncle Ben. For a moment, he was static, just running through the whole situation. There was a trapped girl who couldn't use her quirk, people frantically running away, a giant robot approaching...
"You don't get points as a reward for destroying the gigantic villain..." The same male voice comments to his colleagues. "But there is an opportunity, a chance to shine..."
Peter's body acts before his thought, and lands over next to Wanda. "Wanda, what happened!? What's wrong with your quirk??"
He tried moving some of the rubble, lifting it off her legs. It's not a pretty sight, one of them is clearly broken.
"Oh man..." he muttered.
"Yeah..." Wanda replied through gritted teeth. "My Quirk only works if I can concentrate. And having my leg bent in a direction it shouldn't be in makes it really hard to concentrate!"
"We've gotta get you out of here," Peter said, bending down to lift the girl.
She yells sharply as they attempted to rise, "Ahhhh!!! I can't move!" Wanda collapsed onto the pile of rubble. From behind, the sound of the robot grew closer and closer.
Peter's eyes widened, they were in a serious jam. His mind raced as he considered available options. Finally, an idea struck as he crouched back down.
"Wanda, I can do something that should help with the pain," he said. "It's gonna hurt for a second, but if I do this, it might help you be able to move without too much pain."
Wanda saw the approaching metal monster, then looked back to Peter, and nodded, "Do it."
Peter puts his foot in between Wanda's legs. "You should hold onto something," he added, as she gripped onto the rubble around her. The boy takes her foot and slowly lays back towards the ground.
The girl yelled out in pain, but after a pop, she stopped. "Oh God, that feels so much better," Wanda said, relief spreading over her face.
Peter grabbed a piece of splintered wood, webbing it tightly against her leg, "It's not a permanent fix, but do you think you can use your Quirk now?"
Wanda tries again, the red light emanates from her fingers, "Y-yes, at least a little." She made herself levitate slightly as she became upright. Suddenly her eyes widened fearfully. The robot was now right in front of them, its giant fist clenched.
But unlike the first time he used his Quirk, Peter would face the enemy head on, knowing exactly what he would do. Running out between the robot and Wanda, he shot a web out to his sides. Blood spurt from his wrists, but Peter ignored the pain. Once the webs attached, he began to walk back and tighten the webs like a slingshot.
From above in the monitoring room, a familiar figure watches the big screen. That's it, kid. Show them what you're made of!!! Eventually, Peter made it back to Wanda, struggling to maintain the tension. The robot began to pull its fist back, preparing to strike. That was the moment he was waiting for.
"Kids, don't try this at home..."
With that remark, Peter shot through the air like a bullet. Curling himself into a ball and spinning with the momentum, he cannonballed into the robot's frontal sensors, completely destroying them.
Tony Stark stood in the dark room without his armor, looking on with pride. There ya go!! Several of the others watching the screen turn to each other, impressed with what they've witnessed. Back in the city, a dizzy Peter Parker climbed out from the mess of wires.
Owww, Peter thought, rubbing his head as he attempted to regain his bearings. That could've gone a lot smoother.
Suddenly, his Spider Sense goes off and he noticed at giant fist aiming for Peter's current position.
"Oh, craaaaapppp!!!!!" He yelled, barely leaping away in time. The giant metal fist slammed into the robot's front, imbedding within its own body and disrupting its systems.
Several sparks shot out and the robot explodes, the shockwave sending Peter further and faster away than anticipated. He triesdto adjust and shoot a web out to catch himself. But only a small amount shoots from his wrist. Oh no, Peter thought frantically. I'm out of webbing!?
The boy was free falling now, his Spider Sense going off like crazy. Yeah, I KNOW I'm in danger!!! I've gotta break my fall somehow. Can I stick onto a building? No, I'm too far from one! And I'm going too fast to grip onto a wall!! The ground was rapidly approaching, Oh God, this is it!!!!
Peter braced for impact, but for some reason it never came. His Spider Sense stopped tingling as well. Peter opened his eyes and realized he was floating, mere inches above the ground. Umm, I don't think spiders can do this...so how-?
His eyes widen slightly as he saw Wanda, barely keeping balance on one leg. Her right hand outstretched and trembling slightly, a visible strain on her face. Finally, she releases and Peter lands feet first on the ground. Wanda loses consciousness and began to fall over, with Peter rushing over to catch her. And just as he prevents her head from hitting the ground, Deadpool's voice echoed over the sound system.
"TIIIIMMMEEEE'S UUUUUUUUPPPP!!!!"

Barber's Chair
• So given Peter's abilities, it's only natural that he'd actually get some points. Maybe not enough to get the 1st place like some other fanfics, especially since he still hasn't had these powers for long. But enough to earn him a respectable position.
• Peter still goes for the 0 Pointer, but doesn't destroy his body in the process. It's mostly a mix of Quirk overuse and bad timing that puts him in the position where he needs to be saved.
