Soon, everyone arrived in the courtyard dressed in their new gym uniforms. The children then discovered why the teacher was in such a hurry to drag them outside; Quirk Assessment Tests. This came as a great surprise to all.
"But what about orientation?" Asked Wanda. "And the opening ceremony? We're gonna miss-"
"Both are useless activities for what we're supposed to do," Mr. Murdock interrupted. He stood before front of the group, cane positioned in front of him. "We've only got four years to turn you into well-rounded heroes, so we don't have a second to lose. It's pointless to waste time with ceremonies that accomplish nothing. So let's get down to business."
He holds a monitor of some kind, "You've been taking physical assessment tests without using Quirks since childhood. Crunches, sprints, etc. For these tests, the country uses the averages of students without Quirks to make things seem fair."
Mr. Murdock then picks up a baseball from a box next to him, "But the point here is not to coddle everyone else, but to reach your own maximum potential. That includes when using your Quirks. Thompson!"
He got Flash's attention, tossing the baseball in his direction. The boy caught the ball, a bit confused as to how he knew where he was. "You placed first in the practical test, you start. Just stand in the circle and throw the ball. Use your Quirk to enhance it however you see fit."
The blonde-haired boy then positioned himself in the middle of the circle, doing some quick stretches as he prepared to throw the ball. His maximum while on the football team was about 67 meters, and he was curious how far he could throw using his Quirk. The boy activates it, covering his right arm and left leg with black slime. His muscles increase the size of those limbs, so he'd be much faster and stronger than normal.
"AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"
He roared as he threw the ball a great distance, and the result is vocalized by the device Mr. Murdock held, "705.2 meters."
"Our goal today is to get to know your current limits and have a goal to exceed in the future," he said to the students. They starting to get excited about the possibility of using their powers for such activities. "Well, you all sound ready to go. So let's get to it."
Pietro and Gwen put themselves on the two tracks available for racing, a robot waited at the end that counted the individual times. Gwen may have been in good physical shape, but Pietro became a red and white blur after starting, stopping only after the robot revealed his time; 3.4 seconds.
"Nice!" He said cheerfully. "Too bad that in fifty meters I can't accelerate too much." Just behind was Gwen, with a time of 7.1 seconds
In the second race Wanda met with another girl, this one was taller than her. With tanned skin, dark brown hair that went down her back, in addition to her dark brown eyes that filled with determination. Unlike Wanda, who seemed to be having fun and concentrated the red energy of her Quirk to propel herself in the race.
The race began, and the focused brunette was pretty fast for a normal human, but Wanda got the lead with her powers that took her off the ground and let her reach further. She crossed the line at the 5.9 second mark, while the other girl came close behind with 6.3.
In the third race, the boy with the golden helmet took his starting position. He grew a naughty smile when he saw his opponent; the Pakistani girl who spoke up in class.
"Come on guys, you're not showing enough action!" He puts on his helmet and becomes surrounded by a pulsating blue energy. At the start, he rockets forward at an incredible speed, finishing at the 2.3 second mark.
His opponent was close behind, getting 4.5 seconds. She was able to make her legs increase in size, stretching them and finishing the race in just a few steps.
In the fourth race, Flash and Peter stood side by side. Before the start, Flash's black goo covered his legs, giving him enough strength to reach higher insane speed and finish the race in 4.13 seconds
Eugene 'Flash' Thompson. Quirk: Symbiosis. His body is capable of secreting a slime composed of thousands of microcells. Giving him increased strength, agility, endurance and regeneration.
While being more accustomed to his powers, Peter was still no match for his rival, who spent almost his entire life fine tuning his powers. Still, he achieved a respectable time of 5.4 seconds.
The tests continued, but with none in which Peter stood out from the rest. In the strength test, he had achieved 226 kg. While an impressive score, he was soon one-upped by a Korean boy who transformed into a teenage version of the Hulk. He achieved a weight 600 kg, and it seemed like he could've lifted more.
In the long jump, several passed the entire sand without even touching it. While Peter having nothing to shoot his webs at, he still managed to reach 10 meters. In the side-jump test, a short boy with spiky, brown hair was tossed side to side quickly by a two-meter-high biped tiger he had summoned.
The fifth test was the ball throw, as demonstrated by Flash at the beginning. During Wanda's turn, since the ball was small and light, she managed to float it up to the limit that the measuring machine could reach, giving her an 'infinite' result.
Now it was Peter's turn, he needed to show something impressive. But even with his increased strength and reflexes, it didn't seem to be enough to clash with the other promising heroes and heroines. He needed to use his head. He couldn't very well use his grip to stick onto the ball, that would just be counterproductive. So it was up to his longtime ally: science.
Mr. Murdock remembered Peter from the talk at the gym, and naturally from the events involving his uncle. He almost wished he could give some advice to the boy, but he wasn't going to show any favoritism during this testing. It wouldn't be very rational.
Putting himself in the throwing position, Peter takes a deep breath and tosses the ball up without much. He quickly thwiped a web to it, making the hole in his arm wider and staining it with a little blood. But now he'd be able to get more speed.
With the ball stuck on the web, he spun it faster and faster like a bola and launched it along with the web. It reached a far greater distance than if it were just with his hands. Peter puts his left hand on top of the wound to stop the bleeding and turned to Mr. Murdock, who heard the distance and smiled; "700.6 meters".
Little did he know that the teacher heard another heartbeat coming in the distance, this time eradicated and weak, but accelerated when he heard the boy's result.
"Oh wow!!! Finally, a superhero level record!" Wanda celebrates.
"It looks like he hurt himself," added Danny, watching his colleague patch up his arm with gauze and medical tape.
"This happened during the practical exam too, how curious..."
"Meh, it wasn't a big deal..." said Sam, trying to look unimpressed.
Wanda watched as Peter made his way back. "Is your arm okay?" Asked Danny.
"Oh, yeah. Kind of a side effect of my Quirk. When I shoot the web too fast, the friction and size of the strand makes it bleed," the boy answered, embarrassed.
The auburn haired girl looked a little nervous though. She was next to the boy when Night Nurse warned him about the potential ramifications of his Quirk.
One other student watched on, although his thoughts were less concern and more foreboding. Until recently, you were just a pebble in my path, Flash stared at the boy. You might have power now, but don't think you're on my level. Guess I'll have to prove I'm still better than you...

Barber's Chair
• Similarly to the Entrance Exam, Peter's range of powers allows him to perform at a higher level, albeit not the very top in comparison to some of the other students.
• A few more students confirmed, can you guess who they are based on their descriptions?
