Pokemon: Duels of The Trainers!

Chapter 1)A Vision on an Island in Domino!

On a cluster of islands, a wind blows over the crystal clear blue waters as a boat sails towards the central island. On it, a young boy is sailing on it all by himself. His raven hair waves in the wind as he takes hold of the steering wheel. "Master Mokuba, where are you heading to?" a voice says in his head as he has a flashback. In it, the pre-teen is getting on a small boat. "Sorry about this, Roland. I'm going on a small trip. I need to do something about an issue and that starts with visiting Duelist Kingdom." In the flashback, Roland asks him why he's heading there. Mokuba simply states that he wants to be away from his brother and spend some time dealing with this issue alone. As Mokuba adjusts his brown vest, he looks back at the sea before looking at the cluster of islands. "Alright, Seto. Although I'm your brother, I can't deal with you right now. It's time that I talk to our captor about this issue, if he is still even there, that is."

The winds keep blowing a gentle breeze over the islands as the focus heads to the central island in the area. On this particular island, there is a large stone castle surrounded by a large moat. The area is soon to be filled with activity as a man looks out at the outer forest and the farther out crystal clear waters. "It's been a while since I've been here and looked out from my castle...", the adult male says quietly. As he tussles with his silver-grayish hair, a man in a suit approaches him from a set of black iron doors. "Mr. Pegasus, Sir?", he says with a hoarse voice. "Yes, Monsieur Croquet? What is it?" Pegasus asks the butler with a smooth voice. "Something is going on that I think needs your attention," the butler responded with concern. The red-suited man nods in approval as he is led down by Croquet. He takes the man down to an art room where countless cards are scattered across the floor. "What in the world is going on here, Monsieur?", Pegasus says in surprise as he looks around the room.

As the two men pick up the cards, Pegasus checks on each one of them, before placing them in small binders. As he scans his surroundings and then back to the cards, his head starts to hurt. He then almost drops to his knees as he catches his balance and places his hand on his head. "Goodness me... So many memories are coming back... From creating paintings about Ancient Egypt to creating my beloved toons... And then going on to creating the whole Duel Monsters trading card game..." But then, another voice comes through the castle halls, which Pegasus recognizes almost easily. "Monsieur Croquet, please go get our guest," he says, almost surprised by the sudden appearance. "Why is Kaiba-boy's little brother here? I guess I'll find out soon enough...", Pegasus thinks as he looks at the binders, which are now filled with many cards.

A short time later, as Mokuba heads down the stairs, Pegasus notices him, carrying a bunch of boxes alongside his luggage. "Why hello there, Mokuba-boy. It's quite surprising to see you here," Pegasus remarks as he watches him place his bags and several boxes on the floor. "It's good to see you, at least in this condition. How's everything with being the President and Founder of Industrial Illusions?", Mokuba asks as he shakes hands with the well-dressed man. "It's hard work, yes, but it's quite rewarding, little one," he says, wiping sweat from his brows. As Pegasus asks Mokuba about him and his older brother being part of Kaiba Corp., he nods as he thinks about what he's endured. "Yeah, it's tough with my job as the new Battle City Tournament Commissioner, but it's rewarding too, in some ways." But then, Mokuba's face turns into a serious expression as he explains some troubling news. "Oh dear, that is quite troublesome. Your older brother Kaiba-Boy is more stubborn than usual... That is quite troublesome. Any reason why?" Mokuba just shakes his head and goes on to announce his new role as the Commissioner for the Battle City Tournament. Pegasus is intrigued by the announcement, but Mokuba looks away as he admits something. "It was supposed to be announced by Seto a couple of nights ago, but he needs more time." Pegasus nods but notices the boxes and asks Mokuba what they contain inside. "Not only are there all cards that we use, but this black box contains our newest innovation. The Kaiba Corp. Duel Disk." Pegasus's eye widens at the name and asks what that is.

As Mokuba opens one of the boxes, Pegasus suddenly groans as his head starts to hurt again. Mokuba suddenly turns and notices him in a pained state. "Pegasus, what's wrong?", Mokuba asked the adult with concern. "It's... happening again... I've been having these... visions Mokuba. Not only are they somewhat painful... they have been quite vivid." As Mokuba stays by his side, Pegasus smiles as he describes the vision to the younger Kaiba brother. "I see... new people... about your age... Mokuba... but with monsters... that are real...", Pegasus describes, despite being in pain. "Monsters? Are they like Seto's Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Yugi's Dark Magician?", Mokuba asks calmly, trying not to stress out Pegasus. "No... No, Mokuba-boy," he says, relieved that the pain was over. "These are real, but not like some of the Duel Monsters cards. I know that one was... a yellow mouse...", Pegasus says as he recovers from the vision. Mokuba and Pegasus's butler are understandably confused, but he helps Pegasus to his feet. "Maximillion, sir, do you need to sit down?"Croquet asks his master with a hint of concern.

Pegasus shakes his head as he asks Mokuba to show him the Duel Disk. "We plan on using this for our latest tourney, the Battle City Tournament." As Pegasus inspects the device, he nods in approval. "I must say, Kaiba-boy outdid himself with this. Will you have a duel with me so that I can see how it works?" Pegasus nods, telling Mokuba that he can't say no, especially to a duel.

As they head outside of the castle, Mokuba brings out a Duel Disk for Pegasus. As Pegasus adjusts the duel disk on his arm, he smiles as he further inspects the device. "I must say, Mokuba. Kaiba-boy has outdone himself," Pegasus says, giving his approval and compliments to the younger Kaiba brother. Mokuba smiles as he puts on his duel disk. "Well then Pegasus," he says with a smile, "You're gonna like it even more when we begin a duel!" The two stand across from each other as Croquet looks between the two. "Good luck you two, it's time to begin our friendly duel." As Pegasus looks at the duel disk, Mokuba instructs him to extend his arm and he does so. "Launching Holo-Projectors!", Mokuba announces as two small devices on each duel disk. Soon the devices land on opposite sides of the castle area and shine different colors as the duel disk's separate parts become a blade. Pegasus now looks at the duel disk in its battle mode. "Impressive, Mokuba. Kaiba-boy outdone himself. So now, duelists can duel anywhere?" The young boy nods as he puts a deck of cards into a compartment on the Duel Disk.

"You betcha, Pegasus. They can duel anytime, any place, anywhere!" As Pegasus does the same, he starts to feel pain in his head again. "Oh dear... it's happening again... I'm feeling the sensations again...", Pegasus grunts as Croquet joins him at his side. "I'm right here, sir. Is another vision?" Pegasus nods as he describes what he sees. "It seems that the people that I spoke of... are... here?!", Pegasus says, making almost speechless at the description. Mokuba turns off both duel disks, before rushing over to Pegasus and asking him where they are. "They are at the ports... shall we?," Pegasus says with urgency. Everyone nods as they head over to a separate edge of the island. As they see the dock, the group spots the kids and several creatures.

"Oh my...", Pegasus says as he spots the kids. "Is this the group of kids and monsters that you saw?", Mokuba says as he looks at the wreckage. "Looks like we've got... some castaways," Croquet says with a hint of shock. "Indeed we do...", Pegasus admits before he and Mokuba notice the creatures, his eyes widening at the sight. "Well, I'll be," Mokuba says in surprise, "What's the next step, Pegasus?" Pegasus ponders before turning back at Mokuba. "Let's take them inside the castle. We've got some fresh rooms for them and enough food for a while. Besides that… I have a good feeling that they might be champion duelists..." As Croquet arrives with a set of rolling stretchers, Mokuba and Pegasus load up the unconscious castaways. First, is a raven-haired ten-year-old boy with a blue and white jacket, and green fingerless gloves, and on top of his black t-shirt is a yellow mouse-like creature. The second stretcher is a reddish orange-haired girl with red and yellow shoes. On top of her chest is an unconscious pink coral-like creature. The third stretcher is occupied by a teen with brown clothing and a green jacket. On his chest, is an unconscious rock-like Pokémon. The final stretcher has another young boy with another yellow mouse-like creature on his chest. However, the boy has darker clothing and lighter hair, and the mouse has a tuft of fur on his head. As they reach the castle, Mokuba thinks about the kids. "I've never seen anything like them... But perhaps, Pegasus is right about something... Maybe these kids could be champion duelists... and give Yugi a run for his money, as well as give my brother a bit of a… How should I say? A reality check..."

Chapter 2)Trainers, Welcome to Duelist Kingdom!

It's been quite the start of the trip for Mokuba Kaiba. It was at first, to get away from his older brother, Seto, and resolve an issue. But now, he's welcoming, much less bringing in, unconscious strangers to Duelist Kingdom. A location that sometimes haunted Mokuba in some ways. Inside Maximillion Pegasus's castle, he and Mokuba are placing the people and creatures in separate rooms. Each room is something similar to what people see inside of a four to five-star hotel. From a queen-sized bed to a fresh set of clothes, Mokuba and Pegasus prepared almost everything in just a short time. "Despite everything that's happened," Mokuba says with a bit of regret, "I'm quite impressed, Pegasus. I guess you have changed." The president nods before kneeling down, "I still remember the whole Duelist Kingdom tournament, Mokuba-boy. I still feel guilty and very sorry for the deeds I've done." Mokuba nods before seeing Pegasus smile at him. "I'm just glad that we can put this behind us. But for now, let's get everyone else settled. You can go ahead and check out the boy on this side of the many guest rooms. He goes by Ash Ketchum. He's apparently something called a Pokémon Trainer, with the mouse being the Pokémon, and Ash-y boy being the trainer. He's in the first room before you enter or exit the hallway to the duel arena." Mokuba nods as he makes peace with him before heading to the aforementioned room. Pegasus turns to face Mokuba to get his attention. "You can check out our guests. Croquet and some of our staff are preparing some breakfast for us. In the meantime, I'll prepare the duel arena and cards for your potential competitors." Mokuba nods with a smile as he gives a thumbs up.

As the young boy checks out the room, he spots Ash and the mouse still out like a light. "Still asleep, huh?", he whispers as he looks from the boy to the mouse. Mokuba smiles as he looks at the yellow creature. "I never seen a mouse like you before...", he says before stroking its back and its lightning bolt-shaped tail. After the first pet, the mouse stirs awake and notices the smiling boy. As the mouse notices Mokuba, he is at first hesitant, watching over Ash and looking at Mokuba. Mokuba reaches a hand out just as the creature's red cheeks spark. He takes his hand back in surprise. "Wow, that's... something you don't see every day," he says with a delayed reaction. "(Who are you? Where are we? Is Ash all right? Why do you sound like Ritchie?)", the mouse squeaks, despite only saying its name, Pikachu. Mokuba almost stares wide-eyed as he looks at the creature bewildered. "Hey, hey. It's OK. He's OK," Mokuba whispers calmly, "You were shipwrecked along with your human and creature friends." The mouse heads back to Ash and licks him on the cheek.

As Ash begins to stir, he starts to open his eyes. "Uh... oh man... what happened?", Ash says weakly. Ash then looks to see Pikachu smile in relief. "Pikachu!", Ash says happily, hugging his best friend. Mokuba smiles as the two embrace. "It's good to see you awake, you two," he says to the trainer and Pokémon. Ash turns to face the young boy, who was surprised to see him. "Hey, what's going on?", Ash asked Mokuba, protecting his Pikachu whilst doing so. "Take it easy, Ash Ketchum. You and your... Pikachu, are doing OK." Ash's eyes bulge at the mention of his name, as he suddenly feels a back muscle tighten. "Geez... whatever knocked me out... it was sure something bad...", Ash says as Pikachu and Mokuba cringe at the pain. "I'm just glad that we found you at the time," Mokuba says as he gets a first aid kit from underneath the bed. "We?", Ash says with confusion in his voice. "Yeah. The name's Mokuba Kaiba. I'm one of the people who helped get you and your friends here. The others include Maximillion Pegasus and his main butler, Croquet." Ash smiles as he properly introduces himself and his Pikachu. Mokuba smiles as the two embrace and giggle. "You two are amazing, I think that you two are more than friends... you two are... almost like brothers." Ash and Pikachu look at Mokuba and nod. "Speaking of siblings and friends, where are my friends?" Mokuba motions his head before explaining that they are resting in their rooms. The two breathe a sigh of relief before Ash asks him about his brothers. Mokuba shakes his head before sighing. "Just the one, Ash. I'll explain everything once breakfast is ready." Ash asks what Mokuba means, to which he says, "Someone my brother... knew is taking care of you and your friends. I was only coming here to take my mind off my brother, but now that you're here, I'm just helping him out."

Ash nods as he hears a knock at the door. "Hey, Ash!", a girl says from behind the door. "Are you awake in there, ya sleepyhead?" Ash nods, "Yeah, yeah, Misty," he names, sneaking a snicker. "I'm awake, and with extra company." As the door opens, what appears before the two is a teenage girl that has short, red hair tied into a side ponytail with a blue elastic rubber band. She has green eyes and fair skin. She wears a yellow tank top that reveals her midriff, red suspenders, denim shorts that stop at her thighs, and red high-top sneakers with yellow lining and white laces. "So, you're one of Ash's friends too?", Mokuba asks before Misty steps back in a bit of surprise. "Wait a sec... why did you sound like Ritchie?" "The name's Mokuba, Misty. That's what Ash asked me when he woke up," Mokuba says, shaking his head before exiting the room. Misty then heads up to the bed, where Pikachu jumps up to meet her in a hug. "Happy to see you feeling fine, Ash. You too, Pikachu!", Misty says, smiling at the two. Mokuba smiles and says that they should get going, as he just got a message from one of the rescuers, Pegasus. "He says that breakfast is ready. We can explain everything on our side during our time together." Ash and Misty nod before exiting the bedroom, with backpacks in tow.

As the three walk down the hallway, they enter a grand ballroom-like area as a large table is set up with enough chairs for the guests and hosts. Ash and Misty's eyes widen at the sight of two boys. "Ash! Misty!", two pre-teen boys exclaim together as the two race up to share an embrace from him and a younger boy that sounded like Mokuba. "Hey there, Brock and Ritchie!", Ash says as he smiles at the two. Brock has spiky hair, as he brushes off dust on his orange t-shirt, four pocketed lime green cargo vest, gold buckled, dark red pocketed, and dark brown belt, brown jeans and blue-gray sneakers with white trim. As for Ritchie, the blue eyed twelve year old boy, wears a teal short-sleeve shirt with light yellow trim and a silver zipper, a dark teal vest with a light green collar, a black belt with a silver buckle, teal pants with light yellow pockets, dark blue and indigo sneakers with red dots, dark blue fingerless gloves with aqua borders, and a purple cap with a light yellow band and red buttons. "It's so great to see you all in such good health!", Ritchie says, which gets Mokuba to step out and spot the boy. "So, you're one of Ash's friends? Ritchie, right?", he asks him, and the two are almost stunned. Another Pikachu, but with a tuft of fur up on his head, is on Ritchie's shoulder. His eyes grow wide as he squeaks, "(Hold on, Ritchie is both here and there?!)" "Wow. I must be hearing things," Mokuba says, blinking in surprise. "You and possibly all of us, Mokuba-boy," a man's voice said through another entrance.

Two men entered with platters and in the center, is Pegasus, all smiles at the sight of the guests.

"Ah... so these are the guests that we rescued from the shipwreck." As the servants placed down the platters and set the tables, Pegasus heads over to the group. As he stands beside Mokuba, he reaches out for Ash's hand. "So... you must be Ashy-boy. Charmed. Why, based on what I've learned about you, you must be the Mimicat's Pajamas." Ash blushes at the compliment, "I don't know what you mean by Mimicat's Pajamas, but thank you!" Brock then interjects, "Ash, he means you are really good at being a trainer." Pegasus nods as Mokuba stands beside him. "Everyone, my name is Mokuba Kaiba. I am the new commissioner for Domino City's new Battle City Tournament." As Mokuba looks at Pegasus, he introduces everyone to him. "This man, everyone," Mokuba begins to describe, "He is Maximillion Pegasus. He's the president and founder of Industrial Illusions, along with being the creator of one of our common pastimes. That pastime is a trading card game called Duel Monsters." Everyone looks at each other in a bit of confusion before addressing themselves one at a time, starting with Ash. "I'm Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town in the Kanto Region. This is my good Pokémon buddy, Pikachu. Nice to meet you, Pegasus." Pegasus shakes Ash's hand again, before shaking one Pikachu's paws, getting a smile from the mouse. Pegasus then walks over to the reddish orange haired girl. "So, you must be Misty. From what I've learned, you're a strong trainer just like Ashy-boy." Misty blushes a bit before extending a hand out, as she holds a small, but spiky Pokémon in her left shoulder. "I dunno about that, Mr. Pegasus. But I do appreciate the compliment. I'm indeed Misty, and these two Pokémon of mine are Corsola and Togepi." The two Pokemon wave and smile at the man at the mention of their names. "Goodness me, I've seen some cute Duel Monsters," Pegasus smiles, "But to see a real life Pokémon... it's simply amazing." Pegasus then heads over to Brock and Ritchie who gives his compliments on them. Brock being a fantastic breeder and Ritchie for being in the Top 8 of the Indigo League. The two boys bow their heads in thanks.

Pegasus then invites the group to join the breakfast banquet, to which the group happily accepts. As they chow down, everyone explains where they come from and the Pokemon they have. Just as Pegasus is about to talk next, he notices something odd in Ash's pocket. "Do pardon me, Ash-y boy?", he says, getting the trainer's attention. "There appears to be something in your pocket." Ash's brows raise in the question, but looks at what is inside his coat pocket. It was a card, the art looked like it was a golden arm. "What the…? It's a card…", Ash says in surprise. Pegasus's eyes widen, and so does Mokuba's. "Mokuba-boy… that is…", Pegasus begins before Mokuba finishes the statement. "An Exodia Piece!" Ash is immediately confused looking at the card, but Misty finds something in her pocket, two more cards are in there. "Hey... I've got some cards too... they're both legs..." Brock then finds another "arm", and Ritchie has the body card. Mokuba and Pegasus look at the cards and are shocked. "Well, well, well…", Pegasus says under his breath. Ash and his friends are puzzled, but Mokuba and Pegasus look at each other in shock and then smile. "Guys, those are some rare cards…", Mokuba begins as he hands out some boxes for the trainers. "And I think you have the potential to become great duelists whilst you're here…"

Ash looks at Pegasus with confusion, who smiles at the boy. "Those cards you hold are part of a game called Duel Monsters, Ash-y Boy. And I've recently got word from Mokuba here saying that his older brother, Seto Kaiba-boy, is hosting a tournament…" The other trainers and Pokemon inspect the boxes, even opening them up to see the Duel Disks inside. "What are these? Some kind of weapon?", Ritchie asks in a confused, but curious tone. Mokuba laughs as he explains that the Duel Disk is not a weapon, but a helpful tool. Not all of the trainers get to keep their Duel Disk, but its main purpose is to help out with duels. "Whilst you are here with your friends, Ash-y boy…", Pegasus says with an inviting grin, "I want to test your skills as a trainer and test you on the game I've created…" Ash's eyes widen as he stands up to meet his gaze. "Are you saying that… you want us to teach you about Pokemon and then duel in this tournament?" Pegasus and Mokuba nod together in response to Ash's question. The trainers look around and at each other before Ash speaks up. "Count me in!", he says with a smile. Pikachu lets out a happy squeak in approval too. Misty nods and says, "As long as there are some Water Creatures in this game, count me in too!" Brock and Ritchie also nod, both saying that they never back down from a challenge. Pegasus orders his servants and guards to set up the ideal places around the island. "Well then…", Pegasus begins before addressing the trainers, "Orange League Champion, Ash Ketchum… Whirl Cup Competitor Misty… Pokemon Breeder Brock… and Top 8 Indigo League Trainer, Ritchie… I'd like to officially welcome you to my private island and dueling school… Trainers, get ready to duel, as we welcome you… to Duelist Kingdom!"
