The Three Legendary Saiyans

Chapter 48: Allies From Across Universes

Raijin and Hit.

As the dust from Goku's battle with Jiren settled; Raijin felt Hit's hand rest on his shoulder snapping him out of a mesmerized daze from watching Goku and his strange new form.

"Its time! We move now!" Hit spoke in a commanding tone; Raijin merely nodding as the two moved in unison, both running across what little flat floors remained; both charging up energy for something as a gold and a purple aura cloaked the pair as they rushed hearing only Goku's attack cry as they approached.

Hit grabbed a hold of Raijin's arm at what seemed to be a split second until everything around him went cold and tinted with an icy-blue tint like a lens of ice had been placed on her perception of the world around him; realising quickly that he'd entered a frozen time-space alongside Hit

"Are we using Time Skip right now?" Raijin asked; stunned by the icy-cold sensation and the ice-like representation of Frozen Time which was completely different than traversing The Timestream in Future-Trunks' Time Capsule.

"Yes; buy be ready for we're almost at Jiren" Hit commented quickly; the cold feeling and icy-blue tint fading back into normality; Raijin and Hit both bursting out from the Frozen Time-Space in a lightning-fast charge; Raijin raising his left arm to punch while Hit raised his right arm, both punching towards Jiren's face while he was momentarily distracted with repelling Goku though his left hand moved instinctively to block their punches.

Jiren had reacted to the joint Time Skip attack with near impossible reaction speed from someone who'd never encountered Hit before; Raijin gritted his teeth in frustration in the futile attempt to surprise the monster, roaring in defiance of Jiren's monstrous power and strength; Raijin threw a series of punches at speeds that induced the mirage of Raijin having multiple arms.

Jiren remained stoic; his left hand effortlessly parrying and deflecting all of Raijin's fists, his eyes only giving the slightest reaction of alarm where Hit vanished into a Time Skip and attacked with a jab aimed for his vitals, Jiren backing away with an alarmed look in his eyes.

Before either could react; Hit vanished into the Frozen Timespace and reappeared with a jab aimed for Jiren's heart, Jiren shifted his right hand over his heart and blocked Hit's attack only to be showed with a rain of energy blasts from Raijin.

Raijin grinned for he had kicked off of Jiren's block into the air just as Hit had reappeared and swept his arm so to generate his rain of energy blasts; his blasts merely bouncing off Jiren's impressive muscles leaving no damage at all.

Jiren swept his left arm in sending a powerful blast of air that sent Raijin and Hit flying backwards into a solid wall of Kachi Kachin; both fighters striking the wall with such force that they both spat out saliva from the impact alone, angry with the force Jiren could exert from only one arm; Raijin burst off the wall with a transformation to Super Saiyan 2; charging Jiren with a cascade of white lightning coiling around his body with both hands curling into fists to pummel Jiren with along with Hit by his side.

Jiren barely reacted to watching Raijin evolve to Super Saiyan 2; his wide eyes only blinking once as a volley of his Invisible Punches flew through the air, striking and beating down the team of Raijin and Hit without any effort on his part, a frown crossed his face for The Assassin of The Sixth Universe was not meeting his expectation nor was another Saiyan from the same Universe and had brought one as intriguing as Goku to him.

Hit barely had time to use his Time Skip for the punches flew at a faster speed that even he could react; the punches struck him hard in the face, torso and shoulders sending the hitman crashing backwards into a pile of fractured tiles from the floor, the same times jabbing him painfully in the back though that pain was only magnified by Raijin crashing backwards on top of him after being struck with the same volley of punches.

Raijin grit his teeth; remembering how Goku had transformed through multiple Super Saiyan Forms until his attacks drew a reaction out of Jiren and even then he's not gotten a reaction until reaching Super Saiyan Blue, bending both knees; clenching his fists and drawing on what energy he still had left; Raijin let out a powerful animalistic roar that boomed in the air like a shockwave as he became clad in a gleaming golden flame-like aura.

Hit smiled curtly as he backed away only to vanish into the shadows away from Jiren though Jiren himself only stared at Raijin with a renewed interest; the flames fading away to reveal Raijin in his Super Saiyan 4 Form, golden flames licking at his body but he felt strangely stronger even when not utilizing his God Ki; the warmth of his energy revitalising his every muscle and diminishing the ache of his bruises, scrapes and potentially a cracked rib or two.

Jiren stared through his grey eyes while Raijin transformed; the hot wind generating from his strength and power of his aura coupled with the roaring shockwave generated from Raijin's voice alone through a tiny smirk to his face.

Raijin burst off the floor with enough force to tear the Kachi Kachin; soaring in towards Jiren so fast that he couldn't even hear the cheering support from Krillin, Roshi or Shin in the stands, moving so fast that he passed by Hit at such a speed that even Hit glanced enviously at the sudden growth, approaching Jiren and his stoic expression with a wide grin only to attack with a spinning roundhouse kick which Jiren blocked with a mere forearm block only to follow up by twisting around Jiren's body and driving a heel drop into Jiren's other arm which was again blocked by another forearm; but Raijin kept smiling as he dropped to the floor and pounced like a beast towards its prey and struck Jiren square in the abdomen with a left-handed straight punch.

"Impressive energy… still too weak" Jiren spoke as he closed his hand around Raijin's left arm; swinging the Saiyan over his head and throwing him down into the empty space in-between The Arena's floor caused by the quakes from Goku's Spirit Bomb, turning back to Hit just as Hit re-emerged from a Time Skip and shot Jiren with a volley of razor thin blades of energy.

Observation Stands.

Krillin and Roshi fell back into their seats stunned by what they'd just seen; watching Raijin blaze with a new strength they'd never seen; they could still feel the heat of Raijin's fire and the cold of Hit's own aura.

"I have no idea… its like Raijin just tapped into some unknown well of strength that allowed him to score a blow" Shin tried his best to explain but even he nor Elder Kai had any idea what just happened but none of them could suppress the prideful smiles as Raijin and successfully managed to hit Jiren.

Beerus stared down at the space where Raijin had been thrown through the spilt arena floor by Jiren's hand; noting that he had not materialised in the stands suggesting that he may still be down in the crevice biding his time before re-joining the battle, Beerus couldn't help but be slightly pleased with how crafty Raijin was being if his assumption proved correct.

"Beerus… Whis… that power you were talking about earlier; Ultra Instinct… can all the other Gods use it too?" Master Roshi spoke in his croaky elderly voice; his eyes gleaming with fascination behind his sunglasses.

"Yes; though it is extremely difficult even for a God such as Lord Beerus or Champa to achieve, that is why Goku utilising the power is so incredible" Whis spoke in such a happy tone that Beerus didn't even react to Whis; instead he just kept watching for the movements of their remaining team members, noting that Goku lay exhausted, Vegeta remained facing off with the white-clad Hero-Warrior from The Third Universe, Gohan and Piccolo were standing off against the three oddly-shaped machines, Frieza was nowhere to be seen, and Androids 17 and 18 were facing an oddly tall and rotund woman from The Fourth Universe.

"I've noticed that Raijin sometimes uses his instincts when he fights an opponent stronger than himself… is it possible that he could use Ultra Instinct?" Krillin asked with a curious tone; though his attention was firmly on whether or not Raijin was eliminated.

"That is a good question; but it's not that simple to reach Ultra Instinct… Raijin uses his instincts in an animalistic sense to warn himself of dangerous situations and deadly techniques, the possibility is there though unlikely as it seems" Whis explained in an amused tone; a look of interest unmistakably gleaming in his eyes when finding Raijin as he burst back from the crevice.

Raijin and Hit.

Down in the crevice between the arena's floor sections sat Raijin with both his arms and legs extended outwards anchoring himself in-between the fractured walls; the jagged fragments of Kachi Kachin digging into his wrists and ankles drawing tiny beads of his blood from his fur-covered limbs, "For once I'm glad The Spirit Bomb did so much damage… must make sure I let Goku know that later; but right now…" Raijin tensed up and re-ignited his aura of flames only he didn't feel the revitalisation he'd felt before; he felt the same as he always did when utilising the powers of Super Saiyan 4, scoffing at his own tired body and began climbing back up into the arena by kicking off the walls with each step.

Hit surged from the shadows just as Raijin burst out from the crevice; their eyes meeting as the rose through the air and both smiling to one another, wordlessly kicking off spires of Kachi Kachin to propel themselves towards Jiren of whom merely watched the pair as they met in the air directly over him before beginning a decent directly toward him from above.

Jiren widened his eyes again sending a volley of Invisible Punches to meet the coordinated attack of Raijin and Hit; the punches pummelling Raijin and Hit again before sending the pair crashing back into the floor, taking in a deep breath in just as Hit again attacked through his Time Skip Technique landing a punch to his jaw and Raijin charging in after Hit with a sweep of his arm; sending a flurry of ki blasts hurtling towards Jiren just as Hit vanished into Frozen Time again.

Jiren grit his teeth; he'd had enough of the pair repeatedly double teaming him and attacking him their paltry skills, his right hand glowering with crimson flames when he punched at the pair itself; the punch sending a sonic boom through the air and casting aside Raijin's blasts, the sonic boom carrying on and knocking from Raijin and Hit to the floor through sheer unstoppable force.

Crouching on the ground; Hit limped over to Raijin on a bleeding left leg and a head wound only to mutter something inaudible into Raijin's ear, though Jiren didn't care what they were doing now; he merely began walking towards the duo with the intention of eliminating them both and putting an end to their futile efforts.

Raijin swept his right leg across the ground sweeping up a wall of dust and granite around himself and Hit; obscuring himself as well as Hit from Jiren's field of vision for what barely felt like a second before bursting back through the veil of dust and charging for Jiren alone.

Jiren halted his advance and felt his eyes widen at the sheer audacity for the Saiyan to even dare challenging him alone; sidestepping Raijin's charge and threw a gut punch directed into Raijin's ribs but noticed that Raijin was smiling at him despite the immense pain he must be under like he'd expected Jiren to sidestep him and counterattack, Jiren only then noticed that the veil of dust dispersed revealing Hit with his right hand outstretched.

Hit stood with his right hand clad in a purple mist akin to that that leaked off ice in caverns; the purple mist circling and coiling around Jiren's entire body making it extremely difficult to move properly while under the effect of Hit's technique.

"Time Freeze Prison" Hit spoke with a confident smile; his technique successful thanks to Raijin's diversionary charge but as long as Jiren was immobilised so was Hit himself, "You've been immobilised Jiren; you cannot move nor attack while under my Prison's hold… be frozen with all of the time I've stored up via the use of Time Skip!".

Jiren merely glowered from behind the purple mist clinging around his body; his fists gripping themselves tightly as his muscles tightened and vibrated in an effort to break the technique, Hit felt a pain run up his arms for he found that binding down Jiren was extremely taxing and how long Jiren would be imprisoned was finite.

"Were you planning on using this on me during our fight? You were… weren't you!" Raijin barked with annoyance that Hit had held back a secret technique but couldn't hide how impressed he was with Hit's Time Freeze Prison nor the fact that he could store up the flow of time that he skipped whenever he used Time Skip.

"Never mind that now! blast him with all you got! Push Jiren over the edge!" Hit barked back; the fire of battle lit within his eyes, "I do not know how long I can hold him for… so hurry up and blast him!".

Raijin didn't need to be told twice; spotting that Jiren was only a several feet away from the arena's edge and a powerful enough blast just might be enough to eliminate him right now, folding his hands over and drawing on both his own energy and his God Ki at once only to draw the two energies to his palms and direct them together with a thrust of his arms, "Divine Masenko!"

Raijin's golden beam: The Divine Masenko struck Jiren head-on; the beam splintering into four rays that tore through the already barely-stable foundations with little effect on Jiren himself despite being under Hit's Time Freeze Prison, Jiren himself glaring through the beam directly at the pair though he could feel his feet being pushed back inch by inch.

"Come on… do something!" Raijin muttered to himself; sweat beading on his forehead and down his back for his energy was running out and fast, his gold hair was already losing its lustre and his gold flames had faded long ago but he needed to make as big of an effort to take down Jiren that he could right now.

"Don't you dare give up! We still need to have a rematch!" screamed a voice that gave Raijin both a startling jump and also a new hope.

Observation Stands.

"This is unreal? Jiren's power is unmatched! Unsurpassed by anyone! Undefeatable! Invincible! Why do these Seventh Universe Saiyans keep coming after him!" The Eleventh Universe's Supreme Kai stuttered; his glasses sliding down his nose in his disbelief.

"I don't understand! Jiren defeated Goku so Team Universe Seven should be backing away… cowering in fear of Jiren's might… but this one lone Saiyan is still fighting? And he's assisted by a member of The Sixth Universe? WHY?" Belmod ranted feverishly; his hands raking through his orange hair in his frustration and panic as fighters banded together to battle his titan.

Beerus and Champa both watched silently and callously; both silently wishing for a victory though they're expressions were one of disapproval that members of separate teams were joining together for this battle.

Raijin and Hit.

"Caulifla?! What the hell are you… never mind! Get over here and help us!" Raijin felt surprised that Caulifla had suddenly shown up; but now wasn't the time for questions, he needed support.

"Why the fuck should I? you gotta promise me something then!" Caulifla put her hands on her hips when she spoke; using a demanding tone when speaking to Raijin instead of rushing to aid him and Hit when time was in short supply and Jiren was glaring at the group from his prison.

"Damn it… we don't have time for this! Whatever you want ok?! just help me!" Raijin knew all too well what Caulifla wanted; knowledge of how to ascend even higher than a Super Saiyan 2 but now was not the time for debating or lecturing her on the dangers of ascending without preparation, he needed the assistance of The Sixth Universe's Saiyans.

Upon taking a look at the situation; Raijin and Hit struggling against a temporarily frozen Jiren and while Caulifla was demanding compensation for her assistance and Kale standing idly by Caulifla's side, Cabba didn't hesitate to step forwards upon entering his own Super Saiyan Form; wordlessly firing a violet beam akin to Vegeta's Galick Gun and joining the fight.

"Fine… you help too Kale" Raijin scoffed; not caring how many Sixth Universe members arrived as long as they assisted; the blaze of a hot pink beam from Caulifla's palms joining his own golden beam leading to a still-frozen Jiren to be pushed back a fraction faster than before, turning his attention briefly when remembering Kale's Berserk Form only to be stunned when Kale stood amidst a florescent green spiral of flames; her eyes briefly whiting out before changing to the turquoise eyes of a Super Saiyan.

Raijin felt stunned that he'd had not sensed neither of the three Sixth Universe Saiyans were even anywhere near him; none-the-less though he was thankful for their aid, the warmth of Caulifla's sudden transformation into Super Saiyan 2; her pink lightning crackling around her body while Cabba transformed into a regular Super Saiyan and Kale became clad in a fierce green flame only her eyes remained the same instead of whiting-out and going berserk.

"You can control yourself now?" Raijin spluttered; his eyes widening in surprise, stunned by Kale's sudden control of her Super Saiyan abilities when she'd previously gone berserk and smashed him into the floor like a ragdoll.

"Yes; I just need to concentrate of Sis and my mind remains somewhat stable" Kale spoke calmly; her fingers curling into fists when projecting her fierce green flames into her palms only to fire the fire similarly to a linear cannon blast alongside her comrades own beam attacks.

"Well keep that up!" Raijin spoke with a smile; thankful that Kale's abilities had calmed and become under control so that he wouldn't have to deal with two monsters at once for Jiren was more than enough at this moment.

Jiren glared out from The Time Freeze Prison; the four beams noticeably pushing him back further and further towards the edge of the arena and the protest-filled screams of his Belmod in his ears, his muscles began to ripple and his feet dug in deep despite being immobilised and halted his path to elimination, Jiren's grey eyes leered out upon moving his legs shakily against the frozen time-stasis; stepping forwards as the beams from Raijin and Cabba began to weaken against him.

"I can't yet! I'm just not strong enough!" Cabba seemed to shrink away in his lack of self-confidence; his aura weakening and his beam size shrinking as his energy drastically lowered.

"Cabba! What would Vegeta say if he heard you right now?! he'd be so disappointed that he'd hurl you off the arena with a mere backhand!" Raijin shouted at Cabba through gritted teeth for his own energy was draining and fast; though his shouts drew the attention of Caulifla and Kale of whom were about to bark back at Raijin but quickly saw through Raijin's intent.

Cabba glanced down at his hands; saddened by the fact that Raijin was absolutely right, Vegeta would eliminate him himself for showing such weakness and say that he was an insult to Saiyan-kind; the golden flames of his aura bursting forth with bright newfound power that Cabba could feel welling up within him from deep within his own being, feeling his own muscles revitalised with new strength; his golden hair spiking higher and sharper.

"Show us all that you re not weak Cabba! Ascend and show us all and most of all Vegeta your worthiness to call yourself a Saiyan Warrior!" Raijin shouted at the top of his lungs; his line of sight shifting from Jiren to Cabba, focussing on the flickering and heightening golden aura that surrounded Cabba's form.

Cabba let out a roar as his beam burst out with even more strength and power; enough power to push Jiren back several metres into the broken floor leaving Jiren and his Divine Gods in the stands looking stunned by the sudden growth, Cabba stood with his hair spiked even more and seemingly grown another few inches; his muscles having increased in size with a new current of violet lightning coursing around his body.

Raijin, Kale and Caulifla all shared a smile of pride in Cabba's ascension; Raijin and the three Sixth Universe Saiyans drawing on everything they had and putting their full strengths into their beams while Jiren narrowed his eyes at the group, his brow furrowing as the deep crimson flames of his power burst into life and forming into a barrier which splintered all of their beams at once causing even more of the arena to break apart.

"Enough of this farce!" Jiren spoke in a low tone of voice; the deep crimson flames of his barrier growing larger despite the purple-glowing Time Freeze Prison still restraining his movements, the Prison began noticeably shimmering as Jiren's muscles forced through Hit's Technique and allowing him to move once again.

"Shit…" Hit muttered only a single word; his right arm feeling like every bone was breaking while Jiren was breaking through his Time Freeze Prison; the technique was practically part of his own body and having it broken was damaging himself.

Jiren's eyes widened as a powerful shockwave burst out from his body which cast aside the multiple beams cast by The Saiyans and shattered The Time Prison which had momentarily immobilised him, Jiren himself stood clad within a crimson flame forcing the air itself shimmer and distort the air around his own body though his uniform had taken some scrapes and singed from the hat of the four beams.

Hit gritted his teeth; his strongest skill was defeated and his energy was drained so there was no chance of a Time Skip to escape Jiren's next attack, turning his red eyes over to the four Saiyans all kneeling on the broken lopsided floor only to close his eyes and draw on what little strength he had left; using all that remained of his energies and fired a series of pressure waves from his hands that forced the worn-out Saiyans away and sending the four flying in different directions, Hit then felt his legs give out from under him just as Jiren loomed over the defeated hitman.

"You chose to save the Saiyans rather than yourself… why?" Jiren spoke in his emotionless voice upon reaching Hit; the sheer heat from his blazing flames drawing a sweat from Hit's forehead.

"Because one of them will defeat you!" Hit answered honestly and with a tone of resolve; smiling as Jiren struck him in the chest with a palm thrust, sending Hit painfully crashing through the Kachi Kachin floor and falling down into the murky void.

Observation Stands.

Hit materialised sitting alongside Magetta and the empty space where Frost had once been sitting prior to being erased; speaking in a melancholy tone of voice, "I am sorry Lord Champa; I've failed my mission".

Champa stood up from his seat only to look down upon Hit with a look of disappointment but wordlessly returned to his seat without speaking so much as a single word of encouragement nor disapproval.

Vados calmly smiled while she watched Champa; she knew all too well that Champa had been secretly hoping for a victory against Jiren so he could rub it in Beerus' face but even with help from another Universe they'd failed, "Do not worry Hit; your efforts were valiant and to team with another Universe's Fighter was certainly unexpected; rest now and be a witness to the rest of The Tournament.

Hit gave a curt bow of his head to Vados; he still felt the bitter defeat he'd suffered but this was unlike the loss he'd endured from either Goku or Raijin… this felt belittling as Jiren had completely overpowered and crushed his Time Skip and Time Freeze Prison yet even with assistance from Saiyans across two Universes he'd still failed in his mission.

"Even four Saiyans teaming up with somebody like Hit cannot win against Jiren…" Beerus muttered under his breath; his eyes narrowing as Jiren stood alone within the ravaged battlefield; the powerful fighter calmly walking away as Toppo and Dyspo joined him at his sides.

"It appears that bringing down a man such as Jiren may require a plan akin to that of a war of attrition, sending fighter after fighter to wear him down… if that is even possible given the remaining time and his accompanying teammates" Whis spoke calmly and reasonably; noting that even Vados was nodding in agreement.

Raijin and Caulifla.

Raijin sat up from a pile of Kachi Kachin stones and rubble barely aware of the burns and fresh scrapes his body had suffered; a vein popping in both temples in a moment of fury and rage as a bursting flame aura ignited into life around his body, sensing Jiren only several meters away as Raijin began to take steps to meet the titan again with nothing but rage and fury clouding his mind; his eyesight narrowing into tunnel vision until something slammed into him, something soft and yet somehow firm but also a pair of hands with a surprisingly strong grip.

"Stop it Raijin! Don't waste Hit's sacrifice!" Caulifla cried out as Raijin realised it was her who was gripping onto him, without Cabba nor Kale within sight on their landing point.

"Shut up! I'll fucking kill him!" Raijin cursed; his face contorting and reddening with rage and fury as he tried to march through Caulifla while she was trying to hold him back, raising his left fist to strike Caulifla and knock her out of his path when he heard Caulifla cry out to him.

"Stop… you're not strong enough!" Caulifla cried out; looking up into Raijin's eyes with tears in her own, tears that she was shedding for Hit as well as the uncertain fates of Kale or Cabba for neither of them were within sight nor could they be sensed nearby.

Raijin stopped upon hearing Caulifla's cry; realising that she was right and marching into another fight with Jiren right now would be an insult to Hit's efforts to keep them in the Tournament at the cost of his own elimination, lowering his fists and looking Caulifla in the eyes finally noticing how she too had been saddened by Hit's defeat after all; Hit was the strongest member her Caulifla's own ally in Team Universe Six but not Team Universe Seven, they were rival teams and he'd been defeated… Raijin could not possibly know how that felt for any of the members of Team Universe Six.

"I'm sorry… you're right" Raijin admitted; the flames burning at the air fading as he slumped down to his knees with the bitter taste of defeat with Caulifla sinking down right next to him in tears for her fallen comrade as well as Cabba and Kale's unknown fates.
