The Three Legendary Saiyans.
Chapter 93: A Belated Request.
Some hours later; Raijin sat in the domed gardens outside Capsule Corp, he'd not seen Bulma since returning to West City and she'd vanished into her Laboratory with Ewan and Hedo in tow leaving him behind to do whatever new project they'd been working towards, with fresh bandages wrapped around his burnt shoulders and plasters covering the numerous smaller wounds, having dressed into a simple pair of jeans and a V-neck shirt while waiting for his guests with a small blue orb in his hand.
Materializing on the spot as if the sunlight itself had folded upon itself as Whis appeared alongside Beerus, the pair of divine beings stared at Raijin with an expectant looks as Raijin struggled to show the proper reverence with his injuries but Beerus gave an approving nod to what little of a bow Raijin could muster.
"Whis, Lord Beerus, I'm glad you came to see me" Raijin spoke with the tone of the appropriate reverence that the duo always expected whenever they paid a visit to Earth; especially when it came to providing advice or granting requests for training.
"I'd rather you addressed me before Whis… but what delectable treat have you offered as compensation for our presence?" Beerus scoffed with annoyance; narrowing his yellow cat eyes at Raijin when getting to the matter of his compensation for setting foot on Earth.
"We call it a Fairy Cake" Raijin stated; gesturing to the pair of small but brightly coloured cupcake's awaiting the pair of divine beings, whereas both immediately seated themselves at the table with the small cake before them.
"This is all you have to offer us? Very well… I shall partake but if this is not to my liking then you shall be solely responsible for the annihilation of Earth!" Beerus scoffed at the visually-deceptive cake sitting on the plate before the god of Destruction, pointing an aggressive finger at a very calm Raijin.
"If I may; eat the cake in small bites; savour the taste of the sponge, the jam, the frosting…" Raijin raised a hand and spoke before Beerus could consume the fairy cake in one gulp, The God of Destruction halting and stopping to consider the notion when Whis appeared to heed Raijin's word and took a small bite from the cake only to be overcome with a gleeful expression, Beerus shrugging his shoulders and taking a small bite himself only to be overcome with glee.
Waiting for the two God's to finish savouring that first bite seemed to taken an eternity as both The God of Destruction and The Angel swooned over the small but delectable treat, the pair finishing the first of two cakes laid out on the plate before finally giving Raijin a chance to speak.
"Yes; we already know about your little escapade into The Alternate Timeline; did you really think we'd not notice you vanishing from Earth and this Time?" Beerus spoke snidely; overlooking that Raijin had been galivanting around into another Timeline and had seriously affected the other reality with his actions.
Raijin bit his lip; figuring that Beerus and Whis would have noticed them leaving but cursing himself to failing to realise that for himself at the time of his departure but the fact that the pair of divine beings had come despite him breaking a serious rule.
"But isn't Time Travel a serious crime? Back during the Zamasu Crisis…" Raijin began; finally realising that that he'd travelled through Time into an Alternate Timeline and returned and thus created a Time Ring that links the two realities that would likely now be in Shin's care.
"That was a different cause and effect, you travelling through Time was made by Chronoa, and that makes it an acceptable affair" Beerus cut Raijin off the moment he brought up the name of Zamasu; even a God of Destruction wish to forget about.
"I'm sorry, I failed to realise the core relation in the two incidents" Raijin admitted fault as he bowed his head; feeling shamed until Whis's cheerful voice spoke up.
"However you seem to have achieved a realisation of your own… awakening to a new power or two?" Whis spoke calmly; taking another small bite from his cake, speaking on Raijin's excursion and experiences as a learning experience yet to come.
"You know about that too? And what do you mean by two powers?" Raijin felt his cheeks rise with his smile; but quickly dropped the smile upon realising that Whis mentioned a second power he could attain.
"Oh yes! We watched from my own Staff as you realised Ultra Instinct Omen for yourself and I must applaud you for such a feat, but also defeating a Supreme Demon who's gained immortality through traveling The Realm Between Worlds, and by two powers I am surprising that we are here to discuss the very existence of your evil counterpart: Cress, that would be understandable given your knowledge of The Time Rings" Whis spoke cheerfully as he tapped the rob atop his own Staff; showing a projected recreation of Raijin's awakening, Raijin felt surprised that Beerus and Whis had watched the whole thing even from a separate Timeline.
"Well thank you, but that's not what I wanted to discuss at this particular moment" Raijin spoke as the display came to an end; feeling only the small bit uneasy with Whis' Staff after having to deal with Demigra's own weapon but maintaining composure when in the presence of someone as easily offended as Beerus.
"I suppose it's the training that Goku, Vegeta and Broly are undertaking?" Whis spoke of with a smirk; alluding to the Energy Control techniques previously used by Jiren that Goku and Vegeta were steadily learning.
"No, not that either" Raijin spoke again; dismissing whatever it was his fellows were doing on Beerus' Planet.
"Then what is it?!" Beerus yelled through a mouthful of frosting and cherry jam, getting impatient with the small bites and biting the remainder of the cake but chewing slowly to savour what was left of the treat.
"I want to know how to master the Aura Form Technique, or at least how it works" Raijin made his plea; asking for the knowledge on how attaining an impossible technique with his intentions to learn it himself.
A long moment of silence passed between the mortal and the divine beings; Beerus and Whis finishing their cakes off, both pleased by the small but acceptable offering but the idea of trying to learn something as difficult as Aura Form at his stage of life and strength would not only be improbable but unlikely that he'd succeed even with divine guidance.
"You are referring to the Skull-Form Aura that was utilised by your alternate-self: Cress?" Whis spoke the name of Cress which surprised Raijin as he'd not giving Cress' name directly but Whis somehow knew of the man's existence but kept quiet about it until now.
"Such a technique is already considered impossible by most Mortals who even know about the skill, those who have succeeded were younger than you and much weaker; so I'm not sure you'll be able to wield the change much less manage it" Whis explained carefully; his pale blue eyes watching Raijin carefully with his analytical gaze but his lips curling into an enigmatic smile.
"So who have manifested Aura Form in the past?" Raijin felt a need to enquire; having seen a fighter armed with the power but his curiosity about the technique got the better of him, knowing full well that Whis' enigmatic smile only showed when he saw potential from prior experience.
"In the history of Universe 7 where there have ever been two practitioners of Aura Form in the countless millennia of history prior to now, one man who'd manifested his energy in the form of an additional arm after losing one to a feral beast in an act of vengeance for the lost limb, and a woman who'd utilised the technique to shield herself from the radiation of a supernova though the attempt had failed despite successfully achieving the manifestation, and now though taking place in an Alternate Timeline we must add a third name to that record" Beerus spoke solemnly; speaking on the history of those who'd successfully manifested an Aura Form, recollecting the past two users of the impossible technique and lamenting that Cress would have to be added.
"Didn't you have something to do with that particular supernova Lord Beerus?" Whis spoke coyly; shooting Beerus a sideways glance when mentioning the supernova.
"Maybe… I don't remember" Beerus took a sudden interest in the birds chirping in the trees while speaking, Whis and Raijin smirking to one another while Beerus sweat bullets when recalling the cosmic incident.
"Still; I would like to ask for some training, not only to grow stronger for the coming war but also so I may continue to stand beside my comrades" Raijin took a moment before speaking; making the request for training that he knew he should have accepted back in the beginning whereas he'd previously discovered Super Saiyan 4 and his own God Ki on his own but progressing further demanded the divine wisdom of Whis and Beerus.
"That is something that always bothers me when matters of training The Saiyans; you seem content to just stand beside the others but never surpass them, why is that?" Beerus spoke up in response to Raijin that even Whis turned in surprise, Beerus speaking in a questioning manner when the offer was made for Raijin to train with Goku and Vegeta but turned it down in favour of reaching his own power; though Raijin had impressed Beerus via his accomplishments but still questioned Raijin's mindset of using The God's Training now but not in the past.
Raijin opened his mouth to speak but no words came from his vocals; he'd had being an equal to Goku and Vegeta as his goal for so many years to the point that even now after fully mastering his own God Ki and reaching a Golden Form of his own, but his own progress was being outdone every step and he kept falling behind; turning his attention to Whis as The Angel smiled knowingly at him who spoke without Raijin ever needing to speak.
"It's finally time that you stopped trying to be an equal and you surpass them by reaching a power that they can never dream of… I will teach you to achieve the Aura Form of your very own and show you the path that your compatriots can never tread".
