"... and unintentionally old wounds were opened, by new blows and so I bled again where one day it hurt , and that's when I realized that we are not as strong as we think.."

He ran, because living like that among silky cocoons of protection he knew nothing of the damned outside, he ran because that's the way we all escape from those things that confuse and afflict us. She ran until an arm twisted hers, she ran until the panting breath that chased her managed to reach her and take her will.

Her eyes, those that could hold a great battleship, lay down in tears with waves as great as you could ever witness, and so absorbed, so guilty that the very fact of having stolen her with a kiss made the ghost so alive and petulant of Gilbert return with the force of a great cannon.

He tried in vain to keep those tears from spilling over, for when his hand tried to reach that cheek, violet's frown tore away what little patience he was known for, and he stopped. But there panting, he rested his hand on her waist and found himself drenched in blood, he turned his eyes to her, and his gaze had already waned to concern, he approached as he lifted the shirt without permission; the wound had opened, the stitches had given way.

She looked at him the way they look, still hurt and still worried, then Dietfried staggered and leaned against Violet, so together they returned to the house. It was she who in her room, hidden from the world, helped him to take off his shirt soaked in blood, it was she who washed the wound and with needle and thread sewed not only a superficial wound, but with it she cooked again those undeniable feelings, it was as if in that instant that thread was not a simple and simple one, but a magic thread that would bind her to this man.

He took her hands in his and without looking at her he told her that even though they had been replaced by metal so long ago, he did not understand how he still felt the warmth in them. He squeezed her hands while he looked up, before telling her "thank you".

She didn't know what to answer, but without a doubt those words went deep in her heart, so long had she thought she would be labeled as something less than a human being, just for the simple fact of having lost her arms.

"She has changed and that created a torment inside..."

her hands slid away slowly, violet thanked the bridled words, she picked up the bloody clothes " I think you should rest captain, I will take care of the rest", Violet disappeared through the great hall to hide in the bathroom; but she didn't notice that she was still in the captain's domain, while she was wiping her shirt with soap on the sink she felt Dietfried's arms around her waist while she felt his face sinking against her back. "Thank you" she heard before she could react he had already disappeared.

For an instant and only for an instant she thought she had imagined it, she shook her head trying to refocus on her mission. by the time she finished the captain was already asleep. she reached over and squeezed his hand, he pulled away, but her hand squeezed his, "will you stay with me?"

How could he refuse if a moment ago his injuries were the fault of his outbursts; Violet sat on the bed dietfried rested her head against his skirts while she stroked his hair.

And so until Violet simply fell asleep in these huge arms that were not the ones she was looking for, and her dreams turned into nightmares, as these arms as big as the universe encircled her whole body.

They say that maybe what you are not looking for is what you need, maybe she had been hiding her feelings from herself for too long, running after a dream, waking up ghosts that maybe do not want to wake up.

She could feel her heart surrender, see how her wounds became gravestones with her name on them, and from the ashes, born like a seed, that new and so denied feeling. Her heart had found the way to get into a bottle and from so much wandering in the sea was this man with long hair, with eyes dulled by the war and shoulders as broad as the kindness she had once witnessed, this small bottle with her heart managed to find a new owner.
