Never knew why I thought Spawn couldn't fit in the Marvel universe when they have someone like Punisher or Blade, so...
But anyway, here is Marvel's Spawn, set in the Insomniac Spider-Man world. I may have attempted this before, and though Spawn wouldn't work, which l m to doing Venom, but since Venom is now in the Insomniac Spider-Man world following Marvel's Spider-Man 2, as well as Carnage, I can't do another one with Venom. So, I decided to pick Spawn again and try and do more Spawn stories in crossovers with Marvel and DC.
And unlike the last time I attempted this version, I ain't doing an origin because I've already got a Spawn/Marvel fic set with a origin for my Spawn character in the Marvel universe, just as I have one for a Spawn/DC story. It'll get pretty confusing if I do every story with an origin.
All you need to know is that Spawn has avenged his family, has killed Malebolgia, Jason Wynn and Violator. And there most likely won't be much to happen on the Spawn side of things in terms of demons or angels popping up, not really sure how I could fit them into this to be honest.
Pairings for this story are the same, that being OC/Black Cat and Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson.
Disclaimer: I do not own Spawn or Spider-Man. I only own the OC Nathan Nolan/Spawn.
It was dark in New York City, and that was a bad thing for the weak and helpless as those who would prey on them come out to get their fresh pickings, and nobody survives the night of New York without survivor skills. The rules of the homeless of New York was killed or be killed, don't trust anybody, survive. Not many survive the nights of New York on the streets.
Right now, a group of five were trying to rape a woman, having currently gotten her down to her bra and panties. "Get off me!" The woman sobbed as one of the men held her arms while the second was between her legs, pulling his trousers down.
"Don't worry, baby." The man between her legs grinned. "We'll be nice and gentle."
Suddenly, from out of the darkness, a chain shot out, wrapped around the man's neck and pulled him into the darkness of the alleyway. The other men released the woman and pulled out weapons, aiming into the darkness as all was silent.
Then came blood-curdling screams
"Jerry!" One of the men shouted before he and the other three fired into the darkness, the gunshots lighting up the alleyway briefly but the rapist didn't seem to be hitting anything as all went silent again aside from one of the men's panicked breathing as his eyes darted around at the shadows of the alleyway.
Then something was thrown out the darkness and slammed into one of the men, revealing to be Jerry, head twisted, an eyeball gouged out, arms broken and twisted, legs bent backwards and twisted like a pretzel.
"Jesus!" One of the men fell back and emptied his stomach on the ground.
"Holy sweet fuck!" Another thug said with wide eyes before a hand reached out of the darkness and grabbed the back of his head, causing him to scream which alerted his friends who aimed. "Fucking shoot the bastard!"
They fired but the attacker moved the man he was holding in front of him and the rapist took the bullets instead, killing him instantly as the body was dropped to the floor.
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" One of the thugs shouted angrily.
"Here."
The man turned with a gasp and the last thing he saw was glowing green eyes before he was killed.
The final thug emptied his ammo clip as the dark figure approached him, but when the gun clicked to show it was out of ammo, the man tossed it and tried to run but a chain wrapped around his leg and yanked hard enough to dislocate his entire right leg, causing the man to scream before he was dragged back and a foot pressed down on him.
"Jesus Christ! Mercy!" The man begged tearfully.
The dark figure merely narrowed his glowing green eyes before lifting his foot and then brought it down onto the thug's skull hard, with the impact smashing the skull into pieces and sending flesh and brain matter, along with skull pieces, everywhere on the ground.
The figure straightened up before turning to the woman and stepped into the light, revealing his appearance.
He was a tall, dark figure wearing a full body form-fitting black suit with white highlights, most notably two large marks over his green glowing eyes, a stylized flowing red high-collar cape that seems to either flow in the wind or writhe as if it were a living creature and chains around his waist.
The figure stepped towards the woman who closed her eyes and braced for the end of her life, but she didn't feel that, she felt something be put around her shoulders and opened her eyes to see a long trench coat wrapped around her to cover her nakedness.
But the dark figure was now gone.
The figure leaped over huge gaps between rooftops and landed on each, or glided using his cape, before coming to a stop when he landed on the top of St. Michael's Church in Hell's Kitchen. The figure climbed to the cross and perched himself there, with his cape billowing softly in the win, along with making it's own movements.
This was Spawn.
He stared down at the streets below as his mind went to his life, before and after he was cursed with this suit.
His real name was Nathan Nolan, a former Black ops Special Forces assassin that did every dirty job the Government needed kept under the radar. the missions Nathan took were suicidal, but he always survived them and did his mission, which was why he was called one of the greatest soldiers. But Nathan wanted to get out of his life as a soldier, as an assassin that kills and kills and kills.
He had a wife, two kids, and an unborn child that he needed to focus his attention on more.
So, Nathan retired from the life of a soldier and he was happy with his decision. However, things didn't remain all good and happy for Nathan or his family.
During a family outing at Central Park, a shootout occurred between three criminal groups, on of which was a gang, the other two were a mob group and cartel; The Dogs of Hell, the Kitchen Irish and the Mexican Cartel.
Dozens were killed in the ensuing firefight, including Nathan and his family, with the man forced to watch his son and daughter be gunned down, his pregnant wife shot several times through her stomach, and finally he was killed with two bullets through the chest.
And then it was darkness for Nathan.
Until he found himself in Hell.
Now, Nathan wasn't stupid. He was aware of the fact he had done bad things during his time as a Black Ops assassin. The things he had done as part of his missions, the people he had killed, men and women. Never children. All of this would guarantee him a place in Hell, though he never really believed in religion. Never believed in God, Heaven or Hell.
All of that went right out the window the very second he found himself in Hell.
It was in Hell where he met Malebolgia, one of the demon lords of Hell who made a deal with him: Nathan will lead his army in exchange for getting revenge on those that kill him and his family.. However, in his desperate quest to get back, he forgot to think that demons can trick people.
And so, he found himself waking up five years after his death along with his family's. Th ones responsible had thought they were safe from retribution, but Nathan sought to rectify that and use his skills and newfound abilities as a Hellspawn to hunt each and every single one of them down and kill them in brutal, agonising ways.
And he succeeded. The Dogs of Hell had been first, and he put those dogs down like the rabid animals that they were. The Kitchen Irish were completely wiped out. And not even the Mexican Cartel was safe from him by hiding across the border back in Mexico. He proved that by shooting the last member of said cartel through the head with a sniper from across the border in El Paso.
And even though he got his revenge, Nathan refused to hold up his end of the bargain he made with Malebolgia. And in doing so, he turned against Hell, but he wasn't going to become one of Heaven's lapdogs.
Nathan fought demons, angels, vampires, werewolves, goblins, all sorts of supernatural creatures that stood in his way as he practically waged war with heaven and Hell, but he got what he wanted in the end. He killed Malebolgia, and got his soul back, but he had kept the power of the Hellspawn for himself, to use it for good, to protect the innocent from the criminals, from anything that sought to harm them.
And so began the life of Nathan Nolan as the vigilante known as Spawn, in which it's been a year since Nathan killed Malebolgia and began the life of a vigilante.
To the innocent, he was the dark, watchful protector.
To the criminals, he was the Grim Reaper that has come to drag their souls to Hell...
Short chapter, maybe, but it was something of a start. But anyway, leave a review to let me know your opinions so far.
