The losses are piling up again. Tommaso can't help but dwell on it, lost in thought as the digidestined discuss some drama going on with Ariya Daivari and some camera controlling Digimon or something. He scrubs a hand over his forehead and exhales, squinting up towards the sky as Guilmon stares up at him.
"Are you alright?" his partner asks after a few moments.
Ciampa blinks, then looks down at him. "No, not really," he says gruffly. "Just tired of feeling like I'm always a step behind everyone else, you know."
Guilmon looks sad as he rests his paw against Ciampa's hand. "I'm sorry."
"Not your place to apologize for it," Tommaso says. "I'll be fine. Just need some time."
Guilmon nods and follows him over as he joins the rest of the team, paying a little more attention to what they're saying. "So what can we do about a digimon strong enough to control electronics on our world?" he wonders once he has a better understanding of what's going on.
"Million dollar question," Ariya says, arms crossed over his chest as he analyzes the group. "Any possible answer for that?" He shoots this at Luke, who falters, turning to look at the various screens covering the cave walls.
"I'm still trying to figure out how he's able to do this," Luke admits. "No digimon should have that power, at the very least I haven't heard of such a thing, not since Diaboromon."
"Diaboromon," Ariya repeats. "What is it with these creatures and their names? Ugh."
As Luke leads into a condensed version of the story of the battle against Diaboromon and Ciampa feels his focus drifting away once more, to the moment Gargano accidentally dropkicked him. Yeah, he knows it's a mistake. Still, it doesn't stop him from feeling exhausted, frustrated. He likes partnering with Gargano, but part of him does feel like it's time for a change. He's just not sure what to do.
Yet.
