"Hello there… ahh… you are one of those, a few of you show up sometimes. I think I can fit you on the tree. You want to be human? Perfectly fine, good choice even, I'll throw in a little something, she hasn't gotten to stretch her legs for a few millennia."
Jasmine opened her eyes as a searing headache blasted through her as she was filled with memories of a past life, very strong memories, memories stronger than her own…
And then she remembered.
Oh.
She'd died.
But that was the old her.
Jasmine Doumon was the current 'her'.
She pushed herself up from the floor -she hadn't fallen out of bed since she was a little kid, how odd- and rubbed her forehead as she looked around.
Yup, still the same room.
So she just… had memories.
Cool.
What day of the week was it again?
"Shit, I have school!" Jasmine cursed as she scrambled to get up, and then saw the clock. "I'm late! Oh god! I'm gonna be late for my first day!"
With that, she quickly rushed around her apartment to get ready, mildly panicking. Some part of her mind found amusement in the fact this was the first time she'd be experiencing a normal high school in either life as she put on the fancy uniform- long sleeved striped blouse, black waistcoat (waistcoat? That was probably it), and a very short red skirt that she would be complimenting with some white tights to not be so exposed in the future. Also a black bow that she definitely didn't get in the best knot- "Arggh, I forgot to do my hair!"
Jasmine shoved a granola bar or three in her bag as she quickly ran to Kuoh Academy, fumbling with a ribbon to tie her hair back. She'd worked too hard to finally get into it to be late! Windswept ponytail was better than nothing!
Thank god she ran track and field in middle school.
Kuoh Town had been her home for the entirety of this life but this was the first time she was really going this way, as her Middle School had been in the other direction, but she had managed to get a Scholarship for the prestigious Kuoh Academy that if she performed well would take her all the way to it's college-level.
Which was pretty damn cool!
Jasmine did not want to deal with college debt ever again!
So she needed to be there already!
"Ugh, I wish I was faster…!" She grumbled. "Or could teleport or…ugh."
Seriously, she got isekai reincarnated into a normal world?
Must be a slice of life manga, with the Drag-so Ball and Naruko type names the shows had… and McWanolds- she would have preferred MobDonalds, honestly, that name physically hurt to think about.
About then, she noticed the school coming into view, a few other laterunners and loiterers rushing in.
She got a bit past the gate before the first bell rang and the gates began to close.
Only then did she let out a sigh of relief, putting her hands on her knees to catch her breath.
"I am happy to see you arriving on time Doumon-san," Spoke a voice she had only heard once before and Jasmine turned her head to see Sona Sitri standing by the gate, the Student Council President who had personally come to her apartment with her uniforms during Spring Vacation.
Senpai apparently took her job very seriously.
"I… forgot to set my alarm…" She lied between breaths. "Normally… I'm early…"
How the hell would she be able to explain the real reason?
"Remember to do so when you get home, you are a scholar student after all," Sitri stated. "There is a certain level of expectation set for you."
"R-right." Jasmine agreed, the weight of said expectation now starting to settle on her, if Sitri had been waiting for her like this. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Taichou."
"It is part of my duties as President of the Student Council," She merely said. "Now an assembly will be held in the atrium, in a few minutes."
"Right, thank you. I'll do my best to not let you down." Jasmine said with a bow before following the thrum of students still entering the building.
The older student just nodded as she headed in a different direction from Jasmine as she continued to follow the flow of mostly female students- which made sense as this place had been an all girls academy but had changed to co-ed when it had been bought by new owners in the last few years.
At a glance, based on the uniforms, Jasmine would wager roughly 80% girls to 20% boys, give or take.
And wow a lot of them were bouncy.
Jasmine was now realizing how sexualized the uniform was, and looked down at her own modest chest, which the stripes and the weird jacket make look a fair bit bigger, something she hadn't realized before.
"...Oh god, I'm in a harem comedy aren't I?"
At the very least, the new genre of her life was probably ecchi… or the owners were just perverts, she'd seen catholic school uniforms.
…No, looking around, her new genre in life was almost certainly 'ecchi', she was pretty sure someone had just shouted 'OPPAI' in the distance.
Jasmine surreptitiously confirmed she had remembered to wear underwear, and let out a sigh of relief when so, and just hoped she hadn't put on anything embarrassing.
What followed after she had entered the Assembly Hall filled with both normal japanese hair colors and anime hair colors (not that she was one to talk, her hair was black but her eyes were bright pink) was an hour of speeches by various staff members, the principal a surprisingly no-nonsense kind of guy in his late 50's or early 60's.
Which ended with Sitri who gave a speech about excelling as students as their time here was what would determine their futures for the most part, but not to forget that they were all still teens and so to not get stressed out. Pretty standard stuff, probably.
After that it was time for home room with her going to class 1-C, and another relieved sigh left her at the fact she wasn't in 1-A, where undoubtedly all the shenaniganary would ensue.
…But she still got the protag-seat.
Oh no.
She wasn't even that particularly interesting looking, her only odd feature was her eyes and-
Oh.
Oh no.
Jasmine realized with a start she was the only dark skinned person in this stereotypical japanese classroom.
To distract herself from that, she looked around at her classmates.
There were some clear characters in her class, but the one next to her was a particularly small girl with white hair and a really cute little black cat ornament in her hair.
Seriously, Jasmine was a bit taller than average at 166 but this girl couldn't have been over 140!
"What you looking at?" Came the girl's rather blunt question in a rather flat tone.
"S-sorry! I, uh, I like your hair clip?" Jasmine quickly scrambled for a response.
"I do too, so what is your name since you are going to be my seat neighbour?"
"Doumon Jasmine, it is a pleasure to meet you." She said, falling back on instinct for the greeting.
"Doumon?"...Which almost sounded like a hint of recognition in her tone. "I am Toujou Koneko."
"Oh my god her name is literally little cat that's-" Jasmine had to murder that thought lest it become more than a thought. "It's very nice to meet you, Toujou-san. I hope we'll get along well." Especially since none of her friends from middle school made it here.
"We will see," She replied as other students got seated, before finally a teacher walked in.
"Settle down everyone and welcome to your first year at Kuoh's Academy's High School Level, for some of you the campus is new, for others familiar, but I hope you will all get along with each other, I am Kawakami Sadayo your homeroom teacher, if any issues arise please come to me," Kawakami-sensei spoke. "Now I will be taking names after that we will be setting up what the cleaning rooster will be…"
And with that time moved on as they set up all the basic class stuff, duties were assigned and after that class moved on to other subjects as the teachers came and went with today getting those, Japanese, mathematics and Social Studies.
Being informed that Clubs would open up on Friday, Jasmine decided to see if there was
anything interesting or Obviously Different in the clubs, and if not just join the Track and Field team again if they had one (they had to have one, right?).
And before Jasmine knew it, the first day of school was over.
That… had gone way too fast.
But it was also a lot nicer than- no, it was exactly as nice as she expected, really. Her past life's biased history in regards to schooling might have made the anxiety ratchet a bit, but everything was going more or less exactly as she expected it.
So she walked back to the apartment that had been her home for all of middle-school, since… the accident…
Eugh, no, not the time for bad thoughts!
She just had to Keep Moving Forward and then her bad thoughts couldn't catch her!
…Wait, that wasn't quite right-
It took a little bit longer to get back home as she didn't have to sprint.
Jasmine closed the door behind her as she surveyed the one room apartment with its bathroom, in one corner was her not-made bed, in the other was the kitchen, which consisted of a sink, cupboards, a small fridge, a microwave, rice cooker and a plug-in stove.
Good news about her new memories, her recipe book had just massively increased! …But she still only had ingredients for what she had on hand. And with it being almost five… yeah, might as well start the rice now, she had the curry from the previous night to heat up and eat with it.
After getting that set up, Jasmine hummed to herself and considered that she didn't have a computer, something she'd need to rectify- she wanted to finally play Fate/Stay Night, dammit! She had just bought it before she died and hadn't gotten to play it!
Jasmine was already a bit of a gamer though, having a Nontendo DuoScreen, which for her sanity's sake she would just call her DS.
With its extremely popular franchise Haremon, which was pretty much 'waifumon, but for real'.
…
"Oh. Yeah. This is definitely ecchi."
Maybe it would be best to invest in some modesty shorts…
She had been on time the second day of school after setting the alarm properly and not suddenly getting memories of a third life or something like that. In fact, she was early, using a trick from her previous life of taking whatever time she needed to get ready and to school, and then setting her alarm for an extra half hour back to allow for any issues. With all that time, she decided her 'look' for now would be twin tails, because fuck it why not, it was cute!
So she was one of the first people into the classroom, content with not seeking socialization until an opportunity presented itself, instead getting ready for the school day.
And Jasmine did get a few short conversations with her other classmates as she was the most 'exotic' (eugh) member of it and so were very curious if she was a full on foreigner or not.
She was not, her father was an immigrant from the UAE (country names were still the same, thankfully) and her mother was from a very traditional family who got disowned for marrying said father, which was why she knew next to nothing about them beyond that.
They didn't even show up to the funeral.
Jasmine felt conflicted on that.
They were total strangers who she had never met and likely never would, so her current-life self had never bothered to… care, beyond a certain level of curiosity and longing for family. The most interaction she'd had was them sending 10,000 yen from a Kyoto address for her birthday each year; obligation, and nothing more, starting only after the accident.
Her old life memories felt hate, which surprised her.
Family was family was family.
But.
But.
The blood of the covenant was thicker than the water of the womb.
She would just need to make new bonds, that was all. Her own family, one way or the other.
"Sup chocolate milk," Koneko said as she took her seat.
"Of course the cat would compare me to milk." She threw right back.
"Because that is my favorite drink, and I currently like you most out of all these bimbos." Koneko commented.
"Hey!"
"See."
"Rude, but appreciated." Jasmine said, already having gelled her type- a complete deadpan snarker who had a middle schooler's skill in Premium Insults. "Though I hope you know that throwing around words like that is a better way to make enemies than friends."
"I speak it as I see it," She said. "And if they can't handle my fangs they've got no business with me."
"Tough words for such a cute kitty. I'd make a comment about bark and bite but that's the wrong animal."
"The dog goes to college," Koneko replied. Was that an idiom she didn't know? "And I will have you know… I lift." She rolled up her sleeve and Jasmine could see there were actually muscles on that arm, lean muscles but muscles nonetheless.
Jasmine whistled in appreciation. "Impressive." And she meant it, that was genuinely impressive for someone their age and especially that size. She reassessed the much smaller girl. Her arms were developed, but her legs didn't have the look of a runner, so she was probably more about strength than overall fitness…
Ah.
She was one of those comically strong yet tiny types, huh?
"If you keep looking at me like that, I am gonna have to charge you food," Koneko stated.
"I'm just sizing you up, nothing to it." Jasmine said, refocusing on her face and the flat expression on it. Wow, she had yellow eyes, that was cool. "My assessment: I could not take you in a fight, but I could probably run away."
"I am going to let you exist with that delusion," Koneko replied. "...I like you."
Jasmine smiled. "Thanks, I like you too! Here, you wanna trade numbers?"
"Sure," Koneko said as they did just that.
"So, are you thinking of joining a club?" She asked.
"I am gonna continue with the one I was in before," Koneko answered.
"Ah," Drat, there went 'Plan: Going To The Club Fair With Friend(s)'. "Which club is that?"
"The Occult Research Club, but it's invite only." Koneko answered.
"Aww, that's sounds cool, I wanna chase ghosts. Or is it Espers? Aliens? Ooparts?"
"Little bit of everything," Koneko answered. "Though Bouchou has us focused on Japanese occult stuff, the Japanophile that she is."
"Oh? Your Bouchou is foreign? What's she like?"
"She is the biggest Bimbo of them all, and yeah she is foreign, her daddy basically bought the school for her," Koneko said. "She wanted to go to Japan for her High School and College years."
"That's… bold." Jasmine said succinctly.
"That's Bouchou for you," Koneko replied.
"So how'd you join if it's invite only? Big sibling recommend you or something?"
"No. And look, the teacher is here." Koneko said, cutting the conversation off as the School Day began fully.
It was more of the same: the rest of the teachers and subjects got introduced and a proper schedule was handed out so they knew when PE happened.
And like yesterday the hours seemed to go by in a flash and she was back home.
Was…
Was this really just… her life now?
…Huh.
Well, no need to stress about it! She had horrible abominations against Rice to commit for dinner, so she needed to get some doritos (or equivalent cornchip)!
—
Wednesday… it was the same.
THURSDAY… it was the same with only one thing of note being some boys getting chased by some girls after they had tried to peek on them while they were changing for PE. Thankfully, not her class.
"Damn Pervert Trio," She heard another girl. "They should stick to watching from a distance like me, hmm, Issei actually grew 1 cm over the spring break, damn."
"Uh… are you… stalking someone?" Jasmine asked the small mousy girl with brown hair in two braids and with some pretty big glasses.
"Nay my lovely Kouhai, I can easily measure the size of dicks that is all."
Jasmine immediately turned away from her at speed to her next class. Anyone who could tell that at a glance was too much of a pervert for her to handle.
"...Did I say something wrong?"
—
Friday… club time!
Koneko had been very deflect-y about how to get invited into the ORC (such a fun acronym), so she was looking at everything else that actually had a booth.
Track and Field (thank god) and the usual assortment of sports clubs (Kendo looked nice), a Manga Research Club, AV Club (nice), and a fair assortment of 'we want an excuse to hang out with our friends' clubs that just needed to maintain minimum membership.
But nothing… really got her interest in the sense that something was screaming for her to join…
"So you are the one Koneko has been making friends with?"
Jasmine immediately turned to the source of the voice. "You know Konek-oh."
Boing!
Before her was a tall redhead(bright, anime red) with blue eyes who could almost certainly breast boobily down the stairs, and was damn pretty besides.
"Yeah I do, and I've been hearing that you've been asking how to join my Occult Research Club?" The redhead asked.
"Oh, uh, yes!" Jasmine said, trying desperately not to put her foot in her mouth right now. This was her chance! "Koneko has said good things about yo… your club."
"And you are the first person she has really made friends with outside of my club, which is pretty impressive," The crimson haired girl said. "Your name is Jasmine right?"
"Yes! Doumon Jasmine, it's a pleasure to meet you, senpai." Jasmine said as respectfully as she could without sounding like an ass-kisser.
"Koneko is right, you are pretty adorable, my name is Rias Gremory, oh right I need to remember, Gremory Rias."
Gremory? When the Prez was Sitri? Were all the Important People in the school named after demons?
Wait, adorable?
"A-adorable?" She repeated, feeling her face heat up a bit. Was she cute?
Rias smiled as she put a hand to her chin. "Yes, very cute, you've definitely made a good impression so far, so I am considering it, here take this." Rias pulled out a piece of folded paper from her cleavage(of course) and handed it over. "As a good luck charm."
Jasmine unfolded it curiously-
That.
That was.
Wait hold on.
Wait wait wait wait.
The ORC was focused on Japanese occultism.
This was clearly a western-style magical circle! From the mixture of Greek letters with Enochian symbols and… something she didn't recognize (odd) in a clearly pentagonal structure on its inner rings overall reminiscent of the works found in the Ars-
Jasmine looked up at Rias in shock. "Are you? Are you actually? Is this real?"
Rias giggled. "We are the Occult Research Club, we made these protective wards last year, we normally charge for them but like I said you are pretty cute."
Again, she felt her face heat up at the compliment. Was she cute? "I, uh, thank you?" Fucking voice crack, stupid puberty could go die in a ditch! Biggest downside to this whole deal.
"See you on Monday, Jasmine-chan. Will tell you if you can join then."
That snapped her out of her embarrassed confusion at least. "T-thank you very much, senpai."
Rias smiled as she walked away and as she passed the corner Jasmine heard a squee. "I finally got called Senpai! Number 45 on things to do in Japan accomplished, one would think during my second year people would do it but nooo its, Onee-sama this, great beauty that, suck it Akeno. I WIN!"
Jasmine imagined she wasn't supposed to hear any of that. And that if this was an anime, she would have a massive sweatdrop right now.
Well, a maybe and a (potentially) real protective ward was better than nothing!
With that, she gladly headed home for the weekend.
—
It was the weekend and that had meant a little bit of shopping for Jasmine, and a day to walk around and see the sights. Technically she'd lived here all her life, but she was still sort of looking at everything with new eyes, in a sense, so it was like getting to visit a foreign country while staying in her hometown!
A win-win in her book!
It was a reasonably sized Japanese town, with plenty of places to see (and an unfathomably large amount of love hotels) and places to go with friends like karaoke, an aquarium, an arcade -she'd been there with her middle school friends pretty frequently- and some more interesting sights, too.
And also the slum area that contained abandoned factories and steel mills as there used to be a mine nearby but that was now dried up (of course it did, it was Japan, their iron was crap which was why the Katana developed the way it did, you needed to fold the steel to make it worth a damn) with Kuoh shifting more to blue collar and service industry, there was also the local Shinto Shrine.
Though the most noteworthy attraction was the so-called Haunted Mansion located near the train station, it was a western style building that used to belong to an European Aristocrat according to the rumors, but was mysteriously murdered in her own home a decade ago and now 'Youkai' and 'Evil Spirits' haunted the place while the 'wails of the Lady of the House' echoed through the mansion.
Jasmine had never been there but she did remember her old classmates daring each other to go in, but no-one had managed to go further than the front gate before climbing back over the fence.
Pretty standard stuff, but if her inkling was right about the ORC then she had a feeling that'd be important some day.
Regardless, she ended up investing in more tights and some bloomers and shorts to wear under her skirt for school. Because even just walking around town like this only confirmed her genre in life was most certainly Ecchi.
There was a place literally called Titty Bar.
Not even in a Red Light District, just… there.
She also found something that she knew intellectually but had wanted to confirm for herself.
The only Church in town, which had been abandoned about a decade ago from what she had found on the web, and she had even known it, but she had still wanted to see it for herself.
The building itself looked to be in decent shape, but the gates were shut and didn't look like they'd been open in a while, what with the clearly wild vines growing through them and the rust.
Jasmine sighed. "A shame." She said to herself. She hadn't attended church in… way too long, her father's religion almost certainly having been another stake between her mother's family and them.
"A shame about what girl?" An older and more mature voice asked.
Jasmine turned in surprise and then looked up to see a blue haired woman even taller than Rias wearing a very revealing red jacket and miniskirt. "U-uh, I just. Haven't been able to attend a service in a while, is all."
"I don't think you are missing out on much, girl," The woman replied.
Jasmine had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. "I didn't mean here specifically, I just meant in general."
"I will repeat my statement, the church is run by corrupt old men who rather have fun with little Timmy than solve issues, not a worthwhile faith." The blue-haired.
"Now that's a very unfair generalization, most Christians are not the Catholic Church." Jasmine said. "It's not like most Taoists are Ashiya Doumon, you know."
"Fair enough, but when you get old enough it is hard to believe that the Father is as kind as they say he is," The woman said.
"It can get harder," Jasmine agreed. "But that just makes it mean even more, you know? If the world's getting dark, at least there's always that one guiding light."
"I like your optimism kid, I had that light once and I lost it, but since we decided to talk like this, my name is Kalawarna."
"And I'm Jasmine! It's nice to meet you." Jasmine said with a smile. "And you know, it's never too late for the light."
Kalawarna laughed. "Way too late for me kid… And I am sorry."
"About what?"
"For this."
Krech!
Jasmine looked down at her stomach and saw that a spear of light was going right through.
"Oh." Jasmine said intelligently before falling over in agony and no small amount of shock. "That's not very nice…"
"Blame God for giving you that Sacred Gear hidden in your soul," Kalawarna said as a pair of black feathery wings emerged from her back as she vanished from sight.
"Oh… I wish… I could have… done something… with that…" Jasmine said as her consciousness began to fade, despite the BURNING RAGE flowing through her veins, fighting to stay alive, and to say the thing that would hurt Kalawarna the most. "I… forgive you."
…
…
"...Hello… Mast- oh by the LORD!"
—
Jasmine opened her eyes.
Which was unexpected, as she remembered having a spear of light shoved in her gut, but not unwelcome.
She saw… her room? Her apartment.
Had that been a weird dream?
She looked down at herself, and saw a big red mark of freshly healed skin through the hole in her blouse.
"Ah. Not a dream then." She said aloud.
"Nope, that was real, Master."
Jasmine looked to the unfamiliar voice, and saw blue.
As in, a blue skinned woman with pointy ears and hair even whiter than Koneko's, some cool white tattoos on her bare arms and around her navel, and wearing what amounted to a sports bra, what looked like a sash directly under it, and a pair of tan harem pants. And some bling.
"Are you a… 'Sacred Gear'- no, better intro, thank you for saving me (assumed)?"
"Okay you are way different than my old Master, and to answer, yes and yes." The blue skinned woman. "I am Djinn, the spirit that lived inside your Sacred Gear, that ring on your finger."
Jasmine immediately looked at her hands, seeing a brass-iron signet ring, plain save for a… distinct Seal of Solomon.
"...!" Jasmine made a noise of shock and dawning realization. "Is this? Is this one of the?" She stuttered out, unable to finish the question.
"That is the Ring of Solomon. Yes, my previous and really only user, congrats Master, you won the Sacred Gear lottery first user in 3000 years." Djinn clapped her hands.
Jasmine couldn't help but let her jaw drop in shock as she processed that.
"...Thank you Romani!" Was somehow her first coherent thought.
The first thing to come out of her mouth, though, was- "Wait so you're the Djinn of the Ring? Like in Aladdin?" The proper version, that is.
"I am the one it is passed on by, I am not an all powerful reality warper, I am not a Longinus."
"The Djinn of the Lamp is the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ?"
"No he is not, classification of the 13 strongest sacred gears, with number one being the True Longinus, I am the Djinn of the Ring. I can grant a basically infinite amount of minor wishes, but only one effect at a time. But my primary power comes in the form of in-for-ma-tion," Djinn said. "Who did you think made Solomon so smart?"
"The Wisdom of God?"
"Which is basically me after big old whitey shoved me in the ring." Djinn said as she both pointed thumbs at herself. "I was a free spirited Djinn during those years before… actually don't wanna talk about it."
Jasmine's head shook a bit as her worldview was shaken up in turn. "Okay, so, when you say minor wishes, is that how you healed me?"
"Yes."
"So would that go away if I made a wish, or is it more like you can do anything, but only one thing at a time?"
"Kinda like the latter, I just made a thing that did the healing then, it got used up. Say you wished to be faster? Then you would be that until you wished to say be stronger, or get me to make a thing, and if you asked for another thing, yadda yadda yadda."
"Okay, okay, okay." Jasmine said, thinking that over, now sitting cross legged on her bed. "And informacion?"
"Basic knowledge I can feed you easily, but big Questions that require me to divine stuff? Once per week at my current level of strength."
"Ah. So the jerk that stabbed me, Fallen Angel?" Jasmine asked, having picked up the vibe around the time she got stabbed.
"Correct."
"Is Rias-senpai special? Rias Gremory if you need a proper name?"
"If you want me to confirm that is a Big Question, but going by that last name I can only assume she is one of Runeas' spawn."
"Demon?" Jasmine had read the Ars Goetia, she could recognize the names even if she couldn't remember the specifics.
"Devil, demons are different things."
"Oh okay that makes sense." Different classifications, probably a matter of creation or disposition or perhaps more political in nature? Questions for later.
"Wow you are certainly accepting of this Master, considering you were unaware of the supernatural until… 8 hours ago." Djinn said.
"I have memories of a past life, so I've kind of been expecting something like this to happen." Jasmine admitted, finding no reason to lie to her new favorite minion(read: only minion).
"Ah you are a reincarnator, though something tells you aren't a hero reincarnator."
"Nope! Just a nerd." Jasmine said proudly. "But with you, now I'm a nerd with superpowers."
"Well you are different from Sally," Djinn said. "Though I wonder if your pussy game is as strong."
"Nein, no intercourse till marriage." Jasmine instantly denied, arms held up in an X.
"Ah so you are a good christian girl," Djinn teased. "Want me to wear a nun outfit?"
"Stahp." Jasmine said, before pausing. "Wait, how aware have you been if you know about Christianity but you haven't been active since Solomon was alive? Or are you like a literal Divine Spirit of Knowledge or something?"
"Thanks to Heaven's System, yes," Djinn said.
"Cool, I'll be asking about that later, it just occurred to me- did you fight Kalawa-what's-her-face or did she just… leave?"
"She left, and I teleported you out."
"You can teleport?!" Jasmine all but squealed in excitement.
"Making a Teleportation Sigil is one of the first spells any race learns once they can harness their flavor of magical energy."
"Ahh, I see." Jasmine said with a nod. "...Wait. Wait, you're the Wisdom of King Solomon, right?"
"Basically."
"So can you teach me magic?"
"If that is what you wish for."
"For clarification: learn-learn, on a permanent basis."
"It's for me to go into teacher mode."
"Yes!" Jasmine finally let herself pump her fists excitedly in the air. "Magic! Power! A freakin' Djinn in my corner! And all it took was getting stabbed! This is awesome!" She paused. "What's the catch?"
"To me? None. Though people are now gonna be interested in you, remember she was gonna kill you without even knowing I was your Sacred Gear."
"Caaaan you use The Wish to hide us from things that would detect that for now? I think I know someone to go to for help… if this is demonic- sorry, devilish magic, anyway." Jasmine said, pulling the protective seal Rias had given her from her pocket.
"Already doing it and, oh that is a Devil Summoning Circle."
"...What's the cost to activating it?"
"I think for this you just need to focus on your desire." Djinn answered. "And… strange there isn't a contract already written into it for… its just a free one time use?"
"Rias seemed really nice, so that would track…" Jasmine said, beginning to focus on the symbol, before stopping just as quickly. "Uh, can you help me tidy up first?" She asked as she got up and began rearranging things.
"I am currently focused on hiding your presence Master."
"And? You have hands, yes?" Jasmine asked as she quickly took off her blouse and threw on one of her nice hoodies, keeping the blouse out as proof.
"...You would have me do manual labor?"
"If you'd kindly?" She asked as she began making her bed.
"Well as my Master commands," Djinn replied. "But I want some chocolate in return, there is so much new stuff I wanna try and eat."
"Oh yeah, we'll get around to compensation once I actually have a proper income, food's easy enough for now on my budget so that works." Jasmine said distractedly.
"Wah?"
Jasmine stopped messing with her comforter to look at Djinn in confusion. "What? You're working for me so you get paid, that's how that works right?"
"...suuureeeee."
A few minutes later, the apartment was tidied enough to her standards, and Jasmine had cleared out a space on the ground for it and even started the kettle. "Okay, it's probably better if you're already out for this, you can go back in The Ring whenever you want, right?"
"Yes, I can." And with that The Ring opened up and Djinn was sucked in closing itself afterwards.
"...Neat! So how do I…" Jasmine tried the Power Ring Pose, and then thinking really hard, before facepalming. "Duh, genie." She said as she rubbed it with her thumb three times.
Pop!
It opened back up (like a WaifuspherePokeball) as Djinn flew out, looking mildly amused. "Taadaah!"
"Neat!"
"Though as you demonstrated, you need to rub me for me to come."
"Do you want me to Forbid you from making those kinds of comments? I will Forbid you from making those kinds of comments."
Djinn just pouted at that.
"That one was classic so it's okay, just… I don't know, have some class with it?"
"Ah Class is what you want, well I just have to get creative then," Djinn said. "And you gonna summon her now?"
"Yes'm!" Jasmine confirmed as she looked back at the sigil in her hand and tried to light it on fire with her mind (read: focused on it really hard).
The circle on the paper lit up in crimson before on the ground appeared an identical copy of it as from it rose Rias Gremory herself.
…Still in her school uniform.
It was 9 am on a Sunday.
Koneko was right, she was a Japanophile.
Fucken weeb.
"You have summoned the great Rias Gremory, what desires do you want ful… Hey Kouhai, knew you could- is that a Djinn?!"
"No, it's the Djinn." Jasmine corrected.
"Of the Lamp?"
"NOT THAT ASSHOLE!" Djinn said. "I am the Djinn of the Ring."
That made Rias do an impression of a Goldfish.
"Wot?"
Xxx
