The internet; it has been a valuable resource for research and keeping yourself informed of the world; looking up information about your interests or details of recent events. For all the good it has done; it has also brought plenty of bad.
One such was the rise of those who have used video platforms to propel themselves to fame and fortune; get eyes on them and become popular at young ages. No publicity is bad publicity for individuals such as these; no matter how inapporirate and dangerous their antics and behaviour are.
The office studio known as Studio S; home of mid 20s online stuntwoman and influencer Paulina Jacobson. She was a woman in a white jumpsuit with dark pink lines and her screenname 'Screwball' down it. She had her dyed dark pink hair in a ponytails while she had her helmet on a table; white with adark pink stripe and a yellow visor.
She was with her staff as she had playing on a computer; her latest video which showed her performing a stunt on a national monument in the European nation of Symkaria. The video drone performed her bungeeing down from the monument while having it vandalised with dark pink paint; "You have all been Screwballed!" Screwball said as flashing text on the video said 'SCREWBALL'D!'. The Symkarian citizens in the video from what little could be seen; looked furious and close to a mob.
"They don't understand you Screwball!" said one of her staff members encouragingly.
"A bunch of European snobs..." scoffed another as Screwball looked at the viewer and liked count; they looked good but Screwball frowned.
"I don't get it... Still not as widely seen and liked as they should..." Screwball ranted as some people in suits came in.
"Well. Symkaria can join the list of countries; you will never be allowed in ever again. Along with Japan with what you pulled there..." said one of them with glasses coming up to Screwball sternly. "Plus your legal team wanted me to let you know that and insist that we have a meeting soon... More lawsuits from those filmed without consent and more cases popping up off your branded Screwball Snacks being unsafe to eat out of the box... The Screwball drink might be discontinued and... More lawsuits of the contestants of the Screwball Challenge streaming show... This is what happens when you ignore memos of potential risk of safety to those involved!" he then continued on.
"I don't get it... I post videos where I perform these amazing stunts... I give random people to win a million dollars in the spot... My brand is big and why does is my subscriber count the lowest it has been in a long time and my videos not getting the views they are used to?" Screwball asked exasperated as she then looked at the trending videos and there were videos posted of phone footage of Spider-Man as well as the Punisher. "Spider-Man... He saves some old fogie from being hit by a car and it gets more views than an average video from me right now... What is going on!" Screwball asked as the man sighed.
"People like superheroes and now that a real life exists... One that fought an alien monster just recently..." the man said as Screwballl binked and grinned.
"I just had an amazing idea..." Screwball then shouted out.
"That I should quit this job and see if Spider-Man wants me to be his PR manager... I agree that is an amazing idea..." snarked the man as she then turned around.
"No... I am going to New York... And show Spider-Man what a real superstar is!" Screwball then shouted out as the staff cheered and the man then turned to the other people in the suits.
"Better see about quietly severing our ties with her. Lest we be considered accomplices to whatever she has planned now..." he then whispered to them.
As I said before; here is Screwball in the story and her portrayal here will be inspired by online influencers and especially those who post themselves doing dangerous stuff and making asses of themselves as well as focus on their branding. I wanted to explore how this fad could fall quicker and the people involved lose reverance if real life superheroes and villains started to appear. Made up the real name for her.
