Prologue:

"Sing again for me." A child Hikaru pleads with his brother as they sit on their bed while everyone else is a sleep.

"Hikaru." A child Kaoru shifts nervously being shy about his singing. "Why?"

"Because you sing so well. I don't know why you insist on hiding it. You sound like those that sing songs mom and dad let us listen to." Hikaru puts an arm around his brother. "Come on. If you won't sing for anyone else then at least sing for me." He tries to convince his brother who lets out a small breath with a smile on his face.

"Okay Hikaru." Kaoru sings their favorite lullaby.

Hikaru listens with eyes shining in awe at his brother's talent. He swears it's like an angel is singing the song.

Years later...

The twins are in high school and still Kaoru refuses to let anyone who isn't Hikaru hear him sing.

Kaoru doesn't even let the host club members know of his secret talent. He is still as shy as ever about it.

Hikaru told him that he thinks that Kaoru has some sort of stage freight. He can't think of any other reason for Kaoru to not show off his talent.

Kaoru isn't really sure why he can't bring himself to show anyone else himself. So he agreed to the theory that Hikaru posed thinking it'll be a good enough reason. He glances towards the classrooms window to look outside. He wonders if he'll ever be comfortable enough to be able to perform. He knows that Hikaru has been trying to get him more comfortable with it in the hopes to let Kaoru show off a bit. He just hasn't really been able to do so with anyone but Hikaru. He doesn't even let his parents know of his talent. He won't admit it though a part of him wishes that he could perform. He does enjoy singing and he wouldn't mind sharing it with others... If only he could get himself to be willing to actually perform for anyone. He turns back to the chalkboard deciding to not think further on it.

Surely that won't happen... Right?
