The streets of Rio De Janeiro
Severa had finally escaped The girls after they were persistent she spent the day with them, but She couldn't, today was the day Dom said they were going to hit the first cash house and this fact has been weighing on her mind for the past day.
Dom didn't know she was a witch and she didn't know if she could tell him. They had been friends for years and the idea of telling him something this big was... horrifying. How would he react? would he been mad, or scared? whatever it was, she was nowhere near ready to find out.
As Severa hurried through the dimly lit streets, the morning sun still coming up, she felt the familiar weight of her wand hidden up her sleeve, a constant reminder of the secret she carried. She quickened her pace, her heart pounding not only from the fear of what tonight might bring but also from the anxiety of keeping her true self hidden.
Arriving at the rendezvous point, she saw Dom leaning against a brick wall, his face partially obscured by the shadows. He looked up as she approached, a grin spreading across his face.
"Cutting it close, Sev," he teased, his voice low but warm. "Thought you might've changed your mind."
"Wouldn't miss it," she replied, trying to inject confidence into her voice. She couldn't afford to let him see her doubts. Not tonight.
Dom pushed off the wall and handed her a black mask. "You ready for this?" he asked, a hint of seriousness in his tone now.
Severa nodded, slipping the mask into her pocket "Ready as I'll ever be."
Dom nodded and led her across the street to a van, one of the few cars parked along the street. Once she hopped in the back, she was met with the sight of Brian, Tej, and Mia all sitting inside. Mia gave her a reassuring smile, while Tej and Brain nodded in acknowledgment.
"Glad you could make it," Brian said, his voice steady. "We're just about ready to roll."
Severa settled into a seat, her nerves still buzzing. She forced herself to focus on the task at hand. Dom climbed into the driver's seat, and the engine roared to life. As the van pulled away from the curb, Mia turned to Severa, her eyes filled with a mixture of excitement and concern.
"You sure you're okay with this, Sev?" Mia asked softly. "We can handle it if you don't wanna."
"I'm fine," Severa lied, trying to muster a confident smile. "Let's just get this done."
The van wove through the city's streets, the morning sun casting an eerie glow on the buildings. The streets slowly started to fill with people, kids running around playing and music filling the air as people got their coffee.
The van pulled around the corner and they all hopped out. When Severa got out of the van, she saw the rest of the team. Gisele handed out weapons while Roman tried to grab some of Han's Chips.
"All right, masks on," Dom ordered.
Severa put on her mask and waited for Dom's command. The tension in the air was palpable, the team moving with practiced efficiency. Despite her nerves, Severa felt a sense of...something with the group. It was clear they had faced danger together, and there was a bond in that shared experience, something she herself had never felt.
"Remember the plan," Dom said, his voice steady.
They nodded, each member steeling themselves for what lay ahead. When they made it to the doors, the rusted metal of a lock holding the doors closed stood out. Without any words, Severa moved forward and kicked the door open. Go time.
The door swung open, and they rushed in, guns blazing. It was almost like in the movies she watched as a kid: women counting cash in their underwear while men walked around watching them. Roman knocked a couple of the guys out while the rest of them moved the women to the front of the warehouse.
Severa stayed close to Dom, her eyes darting around the room. The guards were caught off guard, some scrambling to reach their weapons while others froze in place. Dom's commanding presence kept everyone in line as they herded the workers towards the front.
As they all gathered at the front, Brian started piling all the cash while one of the guards who was on his knees, tied up, started yelling. "You're a dean man," He looked around at them all. "you're all dead men!" he looked back at Dom. "You don't have a place to hide."
Dom took off his mask, everyone else following. "Who's hiding?" He smirked while the man stared shocked. "Are you crazy? Are you crazy!?" She could see the fear in his eyes and the sweet rolling down his head. "Do you know whose house this is? who's money you're stealing?!"
Severa watched as Dom picked up a canister of alcohol and poured it all over the pile of money before pulling a lighter out of his pocket. "We ain't stealing it. " And with that he tosses the lighter onto the money pile, watching as it burst into flames.
He knelt down and looked at the man. "You tell your boss exactly who did this, Tell him there's more coming." The guard's eyes widened with terror as the flames roared, consuming the cash. Dom's face was a mask of determination, and the rest of the team stood behind him, unwavering.
Dom turned around and started walking out, the rest of the team following. As Severus turned to follow them, She felt an arm sling over her shoulder, Dom, She looked up at him only for him to lean in a bit and whisper.
"You did good today." Giving him a smile, she felt a spark within her at his words. The man she loved was right here, smiling at her and completing her and all she could do was smile, her heart beating a mile per minute.
The van ride back to the hideout was filled with a mix of exhaustion and relief. Severa sat close to Dom, their shoulders brushing. Every time their eyes met, she felt a warmth that chased away the chill of fear and uncertainty that had gripped her earlier.
Back at the warehouse, the team dispersed to rest and recover. Severa found herself alone for a moment, the past week's events replaying in her mind. She had realized she still had feelings for Dom, pulled off a hit on a cash house, and felt like a schoolgirl every time he looked at her.
Her heart still raced from the adrenaline as she sat on a wooden crate, trying to steady her breathing, when Dom approached, his presence immediately commanding her attention.
"Hey," he said softly, sitting beside her. "You did great out there."
"Thanks," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She wanted to say more, to tell him everything, but the words caught in her throat.
Dom looked at her with an intensity that made her stomach flip. "You sure you're alright? You've been quiet tonight, more than usual."
Severa forced a smile, trying to keep her composure. "Just a lot on my mind."
He nodded, understanding in his eyes. "I get it. This is your first time doing something like this, it's normal to feel the pressure."
"Yeah, pressure," she echoed, though the weight on her mind was far heavier than just the night's heist. She wondered if she could ever truly open up to him, if he could handle the truth about her.
As if sensing her inner turmoil, Dom reached out and took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "It's me and you, Sev. Whatever it is, we can handle it together." His hand moved to her face to brush away a strand of hair.
His words sent a shiver down her spine. She wanted to believe him, wanted to trust that their bond could withstand anything. But the fear of rejection and the potential danger her secret posed kept her silent. She nodded, grateful for his support, but unable to voice the storm inside her.
"Go home, get some rest," Dom said, standing up and giving her a final look of concern. "We've got a lot more work ahead."
Severa watched him walk away, the warmth of his touch lingering on her skin. She knew she couldn't keep her secret forever, but for now, she needed to focus on the present. The job was only going to get tougher, and she had to be at her best.
No Matter the Cost...
